i agree w/glen. Angela's purpose in the story is to foreshadow events and make us think about what might happen. she's also handy in fights; ya know, poison and whatnot, but she's there to make u think!

Yep, Angela was telling the truth in her funny, jovial, twisting and unbelievable style. I love her character and she seems to be more than what meets the eye. I mean she is here now and there a little later. She moves freely within the Varden and where she used to live (next door to Jeod, can't remember the name of the place), She knows very much, I would say too much about everyone. I mean she even knew Selena. No, I think we will see a lot more of here and here wercat. Oh let's not forget the white riddle rave.

well, so much has happened that angela foretold, i mean it couldnt of been pure luck that she guessed all that stuff and it came true.

I am listening to that part of Eragon. I've listened to it over and over trying to think if I missed something. Only more questions come to mind. Angela is a lot more than what we are led to believe. How does she know about Brom? How did she come to know the Ancient Language? How did Solembaum come to be her companion being such a special, rare or even magical creature?
I firmly believe she told Eragon truth.

Well, I can't see the exact words right now, but she said Brom's fate was something of a joke among US. Maybe she used to belong to a group or something? Maybe she still does?

Well, kind of. By my idea was more along the line of a magical group- witches like herself maybe.

Angela is one of my favorite characters. She is her own woman and answer to no one. I think she is an ally of the Varden but not of the Varden. She certainly seems to have manyskills and attributes (and a lot of freedom) which are an asset to the Varden. Somehow it seems she has lived (as she told Eragon) for many, many, many years. I think she knows Brom of old and the "joke" may refer to him being a Rider without a dragon or that maybe he loved Selena who was Morzan's lover or something.
I just wish we had an idea of an approximate date for the release of the third book. This wait is going to be my death. I am trying to keep a line of thought but my youngest grand daughter refuses to allow me...

Not really, but she is very high maintenance and demands my attention on almost everything. Like now, she wants attention so she is trying to sit on my lap and asking me for a computer site I know for toddlers.

After reading the books I am led to believe that Angela knows a lot more than what she lets on. I believe I said this in some previous post, however, I think Angela is not who everyone thinks she is. She knows TOO much and is careful and discreet of how she uses her knowledge. If dragonriders have an extended life due to the dragon's magic. (Not that I think she was a rider but how old is Angela? What has given her such a long life span?) OK, she knows Brom, she knows about Selena, she knows and has been at the Varden and the elves AND the dwarfs, (She tricked a priest with a riddle and won his staff, remember?) so how old is she. She tells Eragon she's older than what she looks because in lean times she has had to eat her plants, HUMMM, I think there is more to just eating her plants when she's broke. And Solembaum chose to be with her. Could there be some magical connection between the two of them as a result? Islanzari has Maud, the werecat, but she's an elf. If werecats choose to attach themselves to whomever they want, why did Solenbaum choose Angela a mere herbalist witch? No, there has to be something more there! Thought anyone????

Seriously, She used words in the AL whe she threw the drangon bones, but she spoke in English. But no, I do not believe she was lying. Some of her predictions have come through, so I guess we'll see the others happen in book 3.

She could never lie about something like that. It wouldn't give the readers anything to gain if she was lying and so far isn't her prediction coming true like him falling in love with one of noble birth

Yes, of course. Afterall look what has happened and how the story has unfolded. Already things that she predicted have happened and clues have been given by CP that shows what will happen that was stated in the prophecy(I know absolutely made no sense). Angela doesn't seem like the person who would lie, and to Eragon for that matter. She seems like a very good and trusting person. Like I have said things have already starting happening and the rest is yet to happen...she was telling the truth and we can all pretty much tell really.
