Post Voltrous and Raimus
Birth Name: Kain Drashdae (Pronounced: Kayne Drash-Day)

New Name: Voltrous (Pronounced: Vol-Trus)

Age: 31

Gender: Male

Skills:
Voltrous is an immense swordsman who never backs down and battles every opponent who challenges him because of his brave and courageous attitude towards fighting. He drives his knowledge of magic and flexible ability into his duelling and sparring because he finds it can be an upper advantage. He works hard to keep his body in fit shape but often his attitude affects how duels. If he is angry, Voltrous moves at a slow yet strong peace, though if he is calm and he moves quickly with easier and swifter strokes of his blade. He can also fight whilst on horseback or dragon.

He can forge weapons well as long as he has the right equipment; his good creativity and imagination for things come into play when he invisions making a metal weapon of any kind. He makes many of his own swords and daggers using magic but finds that making them by hand increases his body strength because of the hard work it takes without man-made machine. He starts a fire somewhere in the ground and hovers heat above it, so it starts to melt; as it melts, he hammers the metal into place; the longer this takes, the better the metal. Then by using magic, he can slowly cool the metal down so it goes into a solid form, and then he finishes off whatever needs to be done, like decoration or inscriptions.

His ability as a hunter is also great and, because he knows most of the creatures in Alagaesia, he can track their footprints and their marks that say a certain animal has been nearby. His ability with a bow is useful when he has to shoot a target from long distances and his power is fairly good, as is his accuracy. However, in many cases he ha broken his bow or shot when he is unfocused, which is a weakness of Voltrous'.

Race: Elf

Hair: He has waist-length silver hair, unusual for someone of his gender.

Eyes: Voltrous has eyes as dark as a bottomless pit.

Home Village: Dorú Areaba

Parents: Vash Drashdae (father) and Lina Drashdae (mother)

Siblings: Maximus Drashdae (brother)

Character Personality: Voltrous is an evil, corrupt and power-hungry man; this is a good way to describe his attitude overall, because he is ruthless and merciless. When it comes to destruction, he is always willing; he does the unusual, such as enjoying negative deeds and thinking that they will help his advancing to King. However, this is the opposite completely.

He likes to thing he is incredibly powerful and everybody enjoys his company; however, this is not true. The power is all in his head mostly, however strangers do not know this; he uses threatening words to get his message across to others but his physical abilities pull through if all else fails. He is overconfident and reckless; doing anything he likes to do whilst knowing nobody can stop him – not the average person, anyway. He knows he is not invincible yet, but believes himself to be on that way. Although he has a good amount of power, he is nowhere near the strongest man in the land; however, his emptiness of mind does not allow him to see this.

He mostly sees the world as black and white, as if he owns everything, like objects and people; the black is the opposition – traitors, the Varden, the light, and the white is the people that seem pure to him; however, they are his fellow man, they are the evil-doers and the wrong.

Character History:
Voltrous Drashdae was born on the isolated island of Vroengard, in its capital Dorú Areaba to two incredibly rich politicians, Vash and Lina Drashdae. They were ready for the arrival of one son until Lina had twins, one named Sorutvol and the second name Kain. Having bought everything they thought their children would need, they let their roles as parents run easy and let their children lead their lives then they should have been able to.

Because of this, Sorutvol became carefree, brave and daring, but also righteous and doing what was good and benefited most people. He knew his limitations at life and understood the rules that should have been set by his parents, living life as a young child reasonably but having fun at the same time on Vroengard.

However, Kain did not follow the rules his parents had set and used his spare time to rampage insanely. Although unknown to Vash and Lina, he began to hurt other youths and soon was bullying them by the age of ten. His parents provided education for the twins but Sorutvol was the only one to listen; the reckless Kain always stormed out of the schooling room when he heard something he disliked.

Vash and Lina began to get scared of what their child would become, so, aged thirteen, they locked him in his room and sealed it with magic, performed by hired magicians. The teenager did not even know he could use the same ability until he unleashed his rage and smashed most of the building down. He was exhausted, but at the moment that black energy rippled out of him, he knew he could become incredibly powerful if he wanted to. Both of his parents died, but Sorutvol and Kain escaped the building crash down. Kain ran off, but as if the twins were identical, Sorutvol performed magic without incantations by letting his energy go afar. Having heard of the Varden, he decided to travel and work for them and begun his travels, separating himself from Kain.

Kain had found an underground refuge where he trained day and night with a sword and found scrolls for creating weapons and different combat moves. However, he found a flaw in his abilities and went off to learn magic, fully equipped with daggers, bows, arrows, swords and spears.

Discovering a young apprentice wizard one day, he decided to take him down and force him to tell him everything he knew on wizardry, aged fourteen. The apprentice wizard told him some incantations of basic spells, and this was enough for Kain to handle right now. He beheaded the apprentice wizard with his most trustworthy sword and escaped. He ended up in Surda, capital of Alagaesia, and soon heard his brother’s name whilst disguised in the Varden’s base. It turned out he was doing well, even though his youth denied him work only the elders could do.

In revenge of his brother, Kain changed his name from his own, Kain Drashdae, to an anagram of his brothers: he became Voltrous. The thrill overtook Voltrous and he soon became more evil than imagined: power-hungry, malicious and hungry for murder and blood. Having heard of Galbatorix from his teacher, he swore to overthrow him one day and have everyone working for him.

Voltrous soon aged well, seventeen to be precise; he found a large, heavy stone in the large forests of Du Weldenvarden and brought it to his new hideout in the caves nearby. That night, the egg hatched to reveal a dragon the colour of blood – but he was magnificent. Teeth as sharp as razors, a long tail, incredible dark spikes down his back and those eyes – those black eyes were entrancing. Voltrous soon discovered he could telepathically speak to the dragon, who said his name was Raimus. Raimus explained everything about dragon riders, riding and taught him how to ride.

Having found Raimus, his new soulmate who shared the same wishes as Voltrous, the young man went to destroy King Galbatorix in his home city, but was attacked by archers as soon as he got near the palace. He and Raimus were injured, so he immediately went into hiding, training more intensely till he was twenty-eight.

He soon found his brother Sorutvol hunting in the forests and they spoke about their pasts and what they had been doing. But Voltrous, having heard Sorutvol describe his amazing life, went into a rage and started attacking his brother. It was an amazing duel between the two, but Sorutvol won and went off in tears because of his brother’s anagram of a name. Voltrous never felt remorse or love for anyone except Raimus in life from then on, and never had really, but made sure to remember his brother when he was the King of Alagaesia.

Weapons:
Crecio - Crecio is a longsword that was forged by Voltrous ritually in the forests of Du Weldenvarden; it is very grand, beautiful and powerful. The blade is long and the point is sharp; the pommel is a great ruby crystal shaped like a diamond, and wire wraps around the hilt for hand protection.

On his utility belt of pure leather, Crecio is held in a long sheath, allowing the hilt to stick out. Meanwhile, three daggers hang off his belt, bloodstained of course, there are two knives next to the trio of daggers and there is a spear hanging off his back, tied on with rope on both hands. He keeps his bow on the right of his torso and his arrows hang in a round, cotton packet off his belt. Finally, a length of rope is tied to his belt.

Likes: Anything negative; he sometimes likes to see people dead unless they are aligned with him; he likes to duel and improve his abilities; he likes people to bow down to him; he likes winning and doing something evil; he likes fire and using it; he likes magic and archery.

Dislikes: Anything positive or light; he hates water because he is afraid of drowning; he hates losing in any situation whatsoever; he hates it when people say they are better than him; he hates it when he is injured; he hates it when he wastes his own energy; he hates it when he is fooled.

Animal Companions: Raimus, his dragon companion.

Character's Physical Description: Voltrous is a tall, strong man who wears a face with slits for nostrils and unbelievably dark eyes with red lips. The colour of his skin is regular, but looks odd with the silver hair that reaches down to his waist. When tensed, his large muscle comes out from his arms and legs, giving him a strong capability. He wears a dark robe down to his ankles that shrouds his entire, pale body – the sleeves reach down past his hands and some of the attire is grey. He wears a utility belt to tighten the clothing around his waist; the belt is made of pure leather and holds all of his weapons. He also wears dark sandals, showing his pale feet.

Dreams for the Future: To dethrone Galbatorix and become king of Alagaesia/to become the greatest and most powerful person in Alagaesia/to master life, in other words, become immortal.

Reason for Dreams: He wishes to become King of Alagaesia so that he can rule every living being in the land and have everyone working for him, bringing him food and luxuries. To become the greatest and most powerful person is a dream because he wants to know that he is better than everyone else; also, to kill anyone who dares question his authority. And to become immortal is the most important so that, if he becomes King, he can never die and every being will work for him eternally.

Alignment/side: Evil

Dragon Name: Raimus
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Parents: Lyra (mother) and Kasra (father)
History: Raimus hatched to a teen elf named Voltrous who seemed to share the same dreams as the dragon; the two had a lot in common. They became the best of friends overtime and shared many of their deepest thoughts through their telepathic way of speaking to each other. They shared many adventures together, including the battle between Voltrous and his elf brother; the two looked exactly alike. Raimus was away hunting at the time but came to help his rider when he called for the dragon; Raimus was attacking with his fire breath and claws but the elf brother used magic to block. Raimus and Voltrous, since then, have been in hiding, plotting their take over of the land.
Personality: Raimus is an evil dragon who shares the same dreams as his Dragon Rider, but mostly the same personality, too. He aspires to be all powerful and murders anyone who dares defy him with his scorching dragon breath. He has a great hate for most of the world because it will not allow him to become powerful when he believes he deserves it. He is rather insane, like his rider, and will do anything for his dreams to come true. He believes he is rather deserving and is very self-centered. He is also overconfident and goes into any fight to come out the victor because he enjoys seeing people suffer.
Colour: Blood-red.
Appearance: Raimus is a huge dragon with scales coloured dark red; this goes all over his body, apart from the spikes that go down his back, which are grey, and his claws, which are shimmering white and clean. His eyes are small and dark and his face is odd and yet evil in some way or another. Some people say it is weird and odd that his face looks like this; others say it is mutated, however they do not live to tell the tale. Raimus has a long tail with a spike on the end and his legs are bulging and huge, with long claws. His mouth is vast and his tongue matches the colour of his scales.
Armour: Raimus wears no armour becuase he believes he is strong enough without it.
Dreams for future: To defeat Shurikan, Galbatorix's dagon, in a one-on-one fight valiantly/to become the greatest dragon in the land/to mate with a female dragon to become the master of his race.
Reasons for dreams: Defeating Shurikan would prove he was the most powerful dragon in the land, but also that he deserves to be the King's dragon rather than Shurikan. He wishes to be the greatest dragon because he is power-hungry. Finally, he wishes to be the father of his race so he can rule over all dragons in Alagaesia.

Voltrous - Pending: http://www.saphiraforums.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=6204

In my view, Arya or Roran are/is the next rider; Arya because she has all the right stuff, and Roran because one whole family could have three dragon riders; Murtagh, Eragon and Roran.

Hmm.... Very nice. I'm not sure though if both characters need need 15 lines for history or if that will be fine. I'll wait for Star Gazer.

Thanks, Aeraldi! It really means alot! :D I read on the application form that the minimum requirement for my dragon character was 5 lines, so I went wirth that. Nevertheless, if you feel it is too short I will happily substitute the current history for my dragon for a new one.

I'll also be adding some more fears; I feel this character is god-modded slightly.

Oh, may I add, I realise 'Crecio' sounds like 'Crucio' from Harry Potter, but this was planned. 'Crucio' means torture in Latin, but I realised I could not copy the incantations from Harry Potter, so I changed it to Crecio instead.

For a dragon I think it is only 5-10 and can you please describe how he makes his weapons with magic? I thought that was manipulation of the form of something and it couldn't be done. Like turning rings to liquid metal.

My bad on the whole history thing. Dunno what I was thinking that day. Fix what Star says to be fixed and you'll have my approval.
