A Land of Darkness

Leonitus DragonRider in Training Joined: October 19th, 2009, 1:37 pm Posts: 602 Gender: Guy Affiliation: Vardens	A Land of Darkness OOC: Ok, everyone is more than welcome here, but not too many please, and once this thing gets rolling (about 2 pages) lets not have any more people join please. Anyway, I mostly want creatures of darkness, and other mythical creatures other than dragons, though even some of them would be in here. But mainly, vampires, gryphons, phoenixes, werewolves, and such as that, if you have any questions just ask. =) IC: Lucas silently prowled through the night. He was hunting, but exactly what he did not know. He had been hunting all night, and he was becoming more and more fatigued. However, his keen senses picked up on a slight sound up ahead. He silently crept toward it, all of his senses ready for the instant where he would attack and hopefully kill his prey. He bunched his muscles together and attacked. When he woke up, he was laying on the ground somewhere. He sat up and looked about. The entire landscape was black, the ground looked like soot, the clouds looked like smoke. What is this land? thought the pureblood to himself as he stood on his hindlegs and began to jog through the dark landscape. U'lfr flew silently through the night. He was hunting a small herd of deer, and somehow they had caught his scent and were scattering through the tall trees in Beors. He finally saw one and homed in on it, swerving, and spinning to avoid the limbs and trees as he dove after the doe. When he reached it, it kicked up its hindlegs in an attempt to kick the vampiore/gryphon hybrid. U''lfr dodged the kick and wheeled around to attack, then felt something hit him like a large boulder. When he woke, he was laying in the middle of a black land. There was nothing in sight, nor hearing as he tried his ecolocation many times. The air was heavy, and there was no light, yet he could still see in the semi-darkness. He looked about for the stars, or even the moon, but they were not there. He sighed and flapped his wings. Where she was she wasn't too sure, but it didn't matter to her, as long as she was away from civilization. Jogging around she looked around for something to hunt. Even if she did find a human she doubt she'd eat one, after awhile humans really started to lose their appeal. Besides what that fool Savania said was right on one account, that she couldn't keep eating humans or more would hate her. She snarled, humans, worthless they all were and evil. Though she did have a human form, she really only changed when she found necessary. As she went, she heard something in the distance. She purked up her ears, trying to hear what it was. It sounded like running, or maybe just walking fast, she couldn't tell for sure as she approached she went to her human form. She hated it, but it generally fit most occasions unfortunately. To her surprise when she saw the person jogging by, it wasn't a human. She recognized his discription from something she saw earlier, a werewolf. Not a shape shifter like herself, but a full werewolf. He began to jog toward it and found that it was a wolf, a female. When he saw her, his hunger began to rise. He opened his jaws, the saliva dripping from his large, slightly yellowing canine teeth. He curled his lip and began to advance on the girl slowly. His entire face contorted into a vicious snarl. He angrily neared her and said, "What would one such as you be doing out here?" asked the werewolf as he dropped onto all four of his lanky, yet muscled legs. It was not natural for one such as he to eat a wolf, but he was hungry, and there did not seem much else around to eat, yet he would try to keep from eating her, as she might know a way out. He then said, "I am Lucas, the last pureblood. The last true werewolf, the only one left who has only one form." said the giant wolf as he walked closer, bearing his canine teeth as he did so. It was not wise to seem weak when meeting a strange wolf, and he had to show his dominance, one of the many things that was somewhat annoying since he was both human and wolf, yet one of those things instinct forced him to do. _________________ Role-Playing Characters: Ara The dragon of illusion. Gender: Guy Affiliation: Dragonriders Dragon: Avadius	Re: A Land of Darkness Snare glanced at the werewolf and replied with an indifferent voice, "I am Snare, a shape shifter, at least that is what they call me." She gave a low snarl, she could tell that he hungered, she had never met a werewolf before, but still she was cautious, "You do not want to eat me when there are humans out." She said coldly, it was almost any time she mentioned humans, she hated all humans, "What are you doing here anyway?" She herself was hunry also, but she hadn't found anything to eat. In these blacklands? It seems to me that there is not much of anything here, as if some giant fire burned everything to the ground." growled the werewolf as he stood back on his hindlegs. He easily towered high above her and said, "I do not know how I came to this place. I was hunting in the night, I attacked my quarry, and woke up here." said the pureblood as he picked up some of the soot from the ground and watched it fall from his hand like sand. He snarled again and said, "Where are the humans. They will feed me as well as any deer or wild game could. True he may not for the same reason she did, but hate was the same thing. "I fell asleep near their camp and woke here, they should be here also." she sniffed the air and said, "To the north, not to far away, I can just pick up their smell." A strange toothy smile formed on her face, "I know what you mean. I love killing humans." None other she met shared the same feeling. Even Crimson didn't want to kill humans just to kill. She began to trot off, "They are this way." She stared around at the black lands, wondering just where they were, it was so odd, and yet it suited her. He was on all fours to build speed, as well as remain out of sight as long as possible. He kicked up the sooty dirt as he ran and moved quickly, his hunger and bloodlust rising as he went. When he reached the outsikrts of the camp, the men were already on high alert and were standing around with spears in their hands. They were wild-eyed and seemingly terrifyed. The pureblood slunk silently closer and closer until he was within fifteen feet of the closest man. Once there he silently stood to his full height and leapt upon the man. There was one horrendous scream, and then the blood from the man fell to the ground. The other men yelled and began to run away. Lucas, however was far too busy with his meal. Though she wouldn't eat them since she could smell their own food, she couldn't help but to kill them. Charing, she tackled one man to the ground, before ripping his throat out she snarled, "Think of your life human and what your vile race has done!" with that she tore out his throat. It felt good, to kill her enemy, to feel their blood on his claws. I mean, I have two charries and U'lfr needs to interact with someone and he isn't gonna see Snare and Lucas until the end of the RPG, or maybe the middle, it depends. Lucas growled. He finished his meal quickly and said to Snare, "Don't kill them just to kill them. As far as I can tell, they may be our only source of food for a long time. So don't waste it!" growled the larger creature as he began to lick the blood and gore from his claws and face. Once he had sufficiently cleaned himself, he rose to his feet. he sniffed the air and said, "Do you smell that? It ia different, not like anything I have ever smelled before, but if seems familure. He looked about, nervously. She supposed Lucas was right, though she was getting tired of human meat it made sense so she begun to eat it. It was then she noticed a strange smell, she didn't recognize it, what ever it was.
