 Bloody Sword Iron ShackleEphidel walked down a quiet street near the heart of the empire. It hadn't been to long since his home was burned down. And to his dismay, his guardians lived through it. Like usually, they were giving him hell and treating him like dirt... though like that was new. He walked to the center of town, he didn't mind being here, besides he had protected the city from several raids by the empire... or was it? Whoever it was from, they were lead by a man named Galedrim. He scratched his arm, its scar there had been bothering him, it was the same place where his father cut him in the sword before he...
"Who are you!" he heard a man shout at him which interrupted his thought. "I'm Ephidel who are you? I've lived here for a few months, I'm surprised you don't no me then." He didn't mean to sound rude, he was always that way around strangers. "Don't be cocky with my human. You don't want to end up dead." "Is that a treat! And who are you?" "No, it is not, I just don't like fools who think they are better than everyone else. My name is Aaron." Aaron said. "Sorry, I'm always like that with people I first meat. I'm Ephidel." Aaron smirked, "Some town this is. It's odd though, seems to me as if they have high security around here." "It's because of the empire's attacks." "Think boy! Do you really thing Galbatorix is stupid enough to attack his own empire!" Aaron roared. "What do you mean?" "Nothing Ephidel, you wouldn't understand even if it bit you." Ephidel looked at the man, just who was he? Why did he want to know who he was so badly. It was odd, but the man at least didn't seem like most of the people here. Re: Bloody Sword Iron Shackle Alec's boots fell in a continuous rythym. He was searching. He had a lead on the whereabouts of a certain mister Hendrick who was supposed to know something about his parents. He clutched the wound on his side. He had gotten into alot of trouble for this particular quest. Running into a group of the empire's soldiers had cost him much. Alec needed a place to rest and be healed. He stumbled. Pain shot up his side. He tried to ignore it. Things were getting worse. He treveled down a side street and walked strait into two men.

Re: Bloody Sword Iron Shackle The Grim stood in the crevice of the houses, tapping his fingers together; click, click, click. Ever since the death of Philo, his dragon, he'd been thinking a tad bit more. The funner thing was, the Grim wasn't a thinker. He was more of a, "Things come and go ... who cares ... ?" He wouldn't even laugh like an idiot when killing someone. Death was a serious thing, he wouldn't laugh at his own work ... he'd embrace it.
The street was just to his left, people wandering by. One brown-haired human caught his eye for some reason ... _________________

Re: Bloody Sword Iron Shackle Ephidel and Aaron turned around. Both looked at the new comer, "Wh oare you?" asked Aaron. He wondered if this man had heard any of his and Ephidel's conversation. It was then they noticed he was injured, "Ephidel, hurry, he's injured, do you know magic?"
"Not really?" "Than I will try and heal him. Human, what is your name?" he asked the injured person. While they were talking, the hair on Ephidel's neck stood up. Re: Bloody Sword Iron Shackle I could just practise slightly on a peasant ... the Grim mused. He noticed that one man turned back to face him. Someone actually was somewhat observant, it seemed. He hoped they wouldn't get too scared, he wasn't exactly the most typical of sights.
The Grim waved slightly but as cheerfully as he could. He asked the human mentally, Hello, who are you? He hadn't spoken either mentally or physically for awhile, so his voice was slightly husky. _________________

Ephidel was surprised when someone contacted him mentally. It was the person behind them. He looked back at the man, his voice was odd, but that wasn't the only thing. He looked different than most people. Hello, my name is Ephidel. Alec turned his head slightly in the direction from which the evil was emating. Hs breath caught in his throat. He felt as if he was looking at death itself. He quickly hid the emotion from his face. He hoped he had done it before the evil one saw him.

His tattered cloak brushed the pavement beneath him, his moth-eaten cowl hiding his face. The Grim watched the two from his own murk. "You wish to know who I am?" said the Grim's throaty voice. "Hmm ... I've been called many names ... it's hard to pinpoint one exact title for myself ..." He shrugged his shoulders over-dramatically. "I guess you could call me the Grim." _________________

Aaron gave a small laugh, "You ask who I am and why I'm here. Well, I'm Aaron, nothing to speical about me. As for why I'm here. I can't tell you now can I. Not even these two no." said Aaron. The Grim sighed wearily. It didn't sound like a sigh, it sounded almost grotesque. "I don't have an occupation," he answered truthfully. "The name was picked up along the way, if you wish to know." The Grim could tell that this one was extra suspicious, and by body language, could easily guess that one's thoughts. "You think I will fight you?" he yawned. "To be frank, I won't fight unless you have some value to me." He made a 'pfft' sound. "I don't even remember why I bothered talking to you. I guess a fight would be interesting ... to see what the 'usual's are taught nowdays ..." He was feeling awfully talkative today. _________________

His name's Crimson, and that bastard is part of the reason why I came here. Is there anything of value you are searching for then? Because as far as I know there is nothing in this city." Aaron said, it was a lie, but he doubted anything valuable in the literal sense was in here.
Ephidel was about to say something, when he looked back. He thought he saw soldiers in the city again. Re: Bloody Sword Iron Shackle Aaron looked back, he heard something the others couldn't. In the distance, soldiers seemed to have just appeard, as if they walked out of the ground. He tightened his sword, "Well, you three can stay here all you want and talk, I have something to investigate, though you may come if you wish." he said. He turned away, and walked towards the soldiers.
Ephidel stared as Aaron walked away from them. He wondered what that was all about, he went in another direction, to see where the soldier had come from, not to fight them. "Do you have an idea of what they are doing?" he asked Aaron. "Yes, but its very improbable, still, if it is true than it does make since how Crimson has such a damn large army now." "Crimson?" "You don't know about Crimson! He's only the most powerful man in Alagaesia. He's even declared way against the empire and the Varden. Oh well, I guess it doesn't affect you, I guess ignorance can be bliss." Aaron muttered. IC: When Aaron walked closer to the soldiers, and where they came from, one of them spotted him, "Three people are coming towards us! Kill them! Don't let them enter the base!" shouted the soldier. What base? Aaron said to himself, but had to avoide a volly of arrows. "Ephidel! Alec! Watch out! We're under attack!" he shouted as soldeirs attacked them. Ephidel saw several soldiers attack them. He grabbed his sword, and parried a stroak to his side. He jumped back, blocked the sword, and punched the soldier in the chest and stabbed him. He looked around, What are they doing?
