Eriel and Emrhyst stepped back and watched from a tree.

Faefnir waited for Grothar to reply the challenge. Come on! Are you a fighter or a coward?

OOC: Pass turn. Star hasn't made him respond to the challenge yet. lol

OOC: And I guess I'm to bring in Thorn?

IC: Emrhyst roared as Thorn stepped out of the forest, his scales staining the trees blood-red then leaped down, landing in front of Thorn with a loud snarl. Get past us if you can fiend. She bared her teeth. Eriel nocked her bow and pulled the string to her cheek, eyes boring into his threateningly. Before she knew it, the three bearers { ILS, Star and me}
had been surrounded by the other three. Eriel glared at Thorn and lit her arrow ablaze.

At seeing Shruikan Aeraldi's couldn't believe his eye. Aeraldi couldn't believe his either. F-Father? He thought incredulously. No, it can't be, this dragon is far too young. He's definitely a direct descendant though. Swarms of memories from his early life came flooding back. The fight was gone from his mind as he relived happier memories.
Get back in the fight!
I can't fight him. Something is stopping me.
It's one of those feelings that I have all the time. It's called compassion.
I never knew... He shook his head clear of those emotions and concentrated on fighting. They weren't paying any attention to him so a surprise attack would work charms. The closet to him was Thorn so thats who he attacked. Aeraldi dove suddenly, readying his claws and before anyone could react Aeraldi sunk his claws, seeping with the darkness of his race, into Thorn's back. Tearing the flesh and making him roar out in surprise and pain.

What is wrong with me?! I've never had trouble attacking anything before.Aeraldi was confused, he knew he had to attack but he couldn't get over his own confusion.

You? You couldn't even harm a fly.
No. Today, you are me and I am you. It was strange seeing Aeraldi change back to white and then attacking. Normally his face never showed any sign of anger or hate, but right now it was fierce. Aeraldi's gleaming white teeth showed and the muscles on his body bulged. His claws tore into the back of Grothar, being the closest enemy dragon. The red the spattered onto his claws giving them a gharish appearance.
Aeraldi sat in the back of his mind wondering what was going to become of him.

OOC: Pass

Aeraldi could feel adrenaline rush through his veins, he finally understood why Aeraldi loved fighting. It made him feel alive and powerful. Aeraldi fought on, leaving Grothar with Faefnir as their fight was getting too hot for him. He saw Shruikan attempting to leave the fight as he was gravely wounded.
Oh no you don't. Aeraldi breathed in, preparing to use his flame.
Aeraldi knew what had to be done as well, he breathed simultaneously with his other side, even though he wasn't really breathing.
Aeraldi let out a torrent of flames at Shruikan heating the air so much and so rapidly that an explosion rocked through the air and hit Shruikan badly. He watched as the black dragon fell through the air, falling without the help of his wings which were so badly burnt that they might have been not-existant. Another memory flashed through Aeraldi's mind.

Aeraldi was arguing fiercely with his own father, he was asking where he goes on his trips away from the clan and Aeraldi was spinning out half-truths.
I told you once and I'll tell you again! I was out in the Beor mountains, theres still so much to play with there.
Stop telling me those lies Aeraldi! I want to know what you've been really doing, and none of this 'Having fun' nonsense. Every time you come back you're more depressed than ever! Aeraldi's father was yelling, nearly waking the whole clan.
Why don't you belive me?! I keep going there because it's the only place I can be alone. Nobody accepts me here I'm neither black or white! Just leave me alone to my own business! Aeraldi took off after that, angry at his father and angry at himself for needing to tell those lies.
Get back here now, I'm not done talking to you! His father yelled and took off after him. Aeraldi, still being young, had no chance of out-flying his own father and was soon caught up with. Aeraldi's father grabbed Aeraldi and held him within his claws. He then turned back to the clan grounds. Aeraldi panicked, he could feel his control slipping. He could feel his body tearing apart. He breathed his breath and for the first time, breathed fire. The results were shocking, an explosion ripped through the air hitting his father. It woke all the other dragons and Aeraldi couldn't bear to see their faces. That day, Aeraldi left his clan and never returned. The last thing that was imprinted in his mind was his father falling from the sky.

OOC: Shruikan has not attempted to leave yet. Only Thorn has.

Shruikan spat out blood and managed to knock Faefnir off him. Then Shruikan roared a challenge at the gigantic gold dragon. Faefnir did the same and remained as unmovable as a rock in front of his wounded mate.

OOC: Well, i just went with Shruikan because nobody else was fighting him.

Aeraldi was now feeling the same sense of weakness that his other side was feeling. He couldn't attack the other dragons anymore simply because they reminded him of friends and family lost in time and blood.
But they need me... He thought to himself and only himself. Aeraldi landed on the mountain side and tried to get control of himself.
We're falling apart and I have no clue what the cause could be.
I... I think I know, we knew our time couldn't last forever...
No! It can't be, we still have at least thirty years.
Either way, our time is now extremely short.
And what would you have us do then?
An image passed through their minds at that moment and while it disgusted both of them, it was seeming appealing.
I will not do it. Aeraldi said outright.
It's our only way to enhance our life.
I know! But I will not do it... I can't...
The idea was one that was developed many thousands of years ago by both sides of Aeraldi. It consisted of finding another animal and funnelling their life energy and soul into their own being. The problem with that was something as simple as a deer would only give a year or two. A dragon however, would give over a thousand years.

OOC: Uh oh. Sounds like Faefnir is in trouble. And pass turn.

Faefnir kept Shruikan away from Star gazer, no matter how much Shruikan fought to get past him.

OOC: Pass till the fight's over...

Aeraldi watched the fight with a sense of helplessness. Watching his own kind destroy each other because of pointless blood feuds, separate riders and even because it was fun. A tear ran down from his eye and down his cheek, he didn't notice when he felt a tear running down from his other eye. The fighting had to stop, for all their sakes. Their race was already on the brink of death and now they were fighting between themselves.
Enough.... Aeraldi said to himself in a whisper.
Stop it. He said louder.
Stop this nonsense. Came Aeraldi's voice louder than his other side's.
Enough of this nonsense! His voice kept rising and was now heard.
Stop the fighting now! And when nobody did as he said he took a deep breath and roared loudly.
I said that's ENOUGH! Came a voice that was as pure as the day sky.
Aeraldi launched himself into the sky and tackled Faefnir from the sky. His size growing every second. Aeraldi swung his tail around and hit Shruikan from the air as well. In a graceful arc Aeraldi came down upon Star Gazer and Grothar separating them both and using his ever growing power to hold them in place. In between Thorn and Emrhyst Aerlaid breathed his explosive breath.
Enough of this madness! Aeraldi's voice was filled with anger and shouted his message across to all dragons. Our race is on the verge of extinction and you want to kill each other? Aeraldi's face was in a snarl and reflected nothing but rage. Aeraldi breathed heavily against the strain that the magic put upon him, he knew he wouldn't be able to hold out much longer.
Leave now, or the son of Zefanrac will make sure that you all will never harm another being.
When Aeraldi looked back on this memory in later years, he wondered what had stopped him from completely losing it. He told himself that it was his will to preserve his race.

Emrhyst lay down on the grass, letting Eriel heal her wounds.

OOC: -pass

Aeraldi felt his power slipping from him, draining too much. His spell released and he fell from the air. His form shrinking and turning to white. He was completely drained, the effort was simply too much. He wasn't afraid of hitting the ground anymore, it face he welcomed it. If his race had only the desire to wipe themselves into extinction then there was no more use for him. The wind rushed past his face and through his claws. The ground was rushing up to meet and him it, not that he cared.
There is time left and we can still do what we need to! Just because our job is harder now doesn't mean that we should give up.
Aeraldi flared open his wings and stopped himself before hitting the ground, it was the first he had actually heard this own voice spoken. It made him feel better and give him new purpose. Another voice from his body...
No. It is my voice.
Aeraldi looked up at the sky and saw the sun radiating from behind the clouds casting its scattered light across the mountains. He enjoyed the warmth it gave. He looked at the other dragons and knew he had the strength, because it came from them. He would survive for them.

OOC: Should we end this?

OOC: I think we should.

OOC: Likewise, it's time to finish it. How should we end it?

OOC: Have us stay on the island for awhile... We've been going out separate ways for all the rp's we've done it's getting old and kinda sad...

Faefnir smiled and looked back at the others. Until we meet again, my friends and brothers... He focused on Aeraldi briefly at the mention of brother. ...take care, and hope that we meet again in this world. Then Faefnir swiftly took off after his mate and flew aside her to a quiet location, just as she wanted. As they flew to the horizon, Faefnir licked the side of Star's face and took her front paw in his, grinning like a fool the whole time.

Eriel smiled and lay down along a cliff, letting her legs dangle freely in the air. The elf took up a blade of grass and started blowing a tune through it, letting the sound produced spread throughout the island in an unbreakable woven melody of tranquility.
Emrhyst curled up beside her rider and grabbed her leg using her tail, holding it loosely yet firmly against the western breeze that was quickly picking up.

Aeraldi smiled at Faefnir and said back We will meet again in this world, although changed. Whether by time or by magic. Many things are clear that once were not.
And those that aren't shall not remain hidden for long. Aeraldi knew Faefnir couldn't hear him but he was glad he could not.
Yes. He said to his other side only. Speaking of, there is a place I will return to. A place where I have not tread in many millenia. He thought of the Beor mountains and what was once, aeons ago, his home.
They always seem to call to us, don't they?
Yes, and soon we shall know why.He looked at the others taking off and said his final goodbye; We will meet again! I promise that!
