A leage outside of the Elven city of Kirtan, a woman sat outside of a small house. It was made of white marbel, so exquisetly shaped that it could have only been made by magic. The woman's auburn hair brushed away from her face in the wind, revealing angled, wide, emerald eyes with the dept of a century contained within them.

"Brisingr," she muttered, and the fire in front of her flared with maroon light. She lay back against a rock, sighing to herself. Slowly she got up and entered the house. Inside were four rooms: a bathing chamber, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a study. The woman entered the study and knelt beneath a course nest woven like a basket. Inside lay two large eggs, one purple as an amethyst, the other the speckled light-blue of an opal. Across the nest lay two others, one pale peach, like the inside of an oyster, and the other the black-red of a garnet or beryl. The woman could sense the two small dragons within them, but they did not stir.

"Why?" She said. "Come, little ones, hatch and be wild, free of this misery." She sighed again, resting between the white walls and the nest. Her black robe was elegant, her arms lean and thin. But within her body was a wearinesss and a fear, and a fear that did not allow her abandon the eggs, or let her use the knife on the wall to end her lonely existance.

Jannah! A presence cut her mind sharply.

Hayn! What's happened? Jannah nearly screamed within her head, the abruptness of her dragon's message frightening her.

What has not happened! Urgals, Jannah, Kul, by the look of them! They are headed toward the house at this instance, under the banner of . . . Hayn's thoughts faded, and Jannah could sense her fear and misery, along with an anger that flared all too often.

My cousin? Jannah supplied. Hayn, come home, now, please. We have to get Chaand and the eggs away from danger!

And you as well. Hayn said. If Galbatorix were to get hold of you,

Don't even think about that! Jannah cried. Come home!

And at that instant, four Kul, with two bound humans behind them, stomed into the clearing before the house.

OOC: If you want to enter my story you can, as one of the Kul or humans, who are to hatch the eggs. The humans can be elves, too.

You can also enter your own characters in the story. Just do not control Jannah, Hayn, or Chaand (yet to be introduced), or the dragon-eggs unless you hatch them. Ask permission before becoming one of the riders or dragons, but other than that you're welcome to join with out permission.

IC- Carsaib gave up shaking and reserved his energy for other things. Here he was, minding his own business. Well not quite, he was spying on the Urgals, when he was captured. He had been at their camp a few minutes before he heard a crunch behind him and was hit on the head with a heavy object. That was two days ago and they seemed to have travelled a lot since then, the Kull ran fast and the only thing he could tell of his surroundings is the smell of pine needles. The one that was carrying him stopped suddenly, roared and dropped him, he heard thundering foot steps and tried to wriggle out of the way, without being able to see he rolled in a bad direction. Within minutes he was at the bottom of a steep and rocky hill, nursing his many injuries from the fall.

OOC: Yeah, sorry about the double-posting, I forgot to add to my first post and then, in a moment of lapsed-memory, forgot about the edit button. Anyway, thanks for joining my topic, you truly honor me.

IC:
Jannah dressed in a brown leather travel outfit, and slipped brown boots onto her feet. She kept muttering, over and over again “Time, time, time, what I need is time!” She braided her auburn hair and let the plait fall down her back. On her left ring finger, she placed a golden ring set with a large diamond in the shape of a dragon’s head. Lastly she belted Draumr, her blade, to her side.

She ran through the house in a frantic hurry. She gathered the eggs, and, placing a spell on a velvet sack, placed them inside. Due to her training and spells, Jannah was able to carry the eggs and her other possessions as though they weighed nothing. She gathered her bow, several pieces of jewelry, and the rest of her clothing, weaponry, and survival gear. Lastly, she took a fairth of a young Elven-Rider, with black-as-night hair and piercing, navy blue eyes.

"Oh, Adrian, the worst has come. How can I protect our child, as well as Hayn and Aoyr's?" Jannah had little time to contemplate as she heard the door cave to the Kul's strength. "No!"

Jannah turned and looked at the passage in horror. The four Kul, two of whom where female, Jannah noticed, grinned menacingly. Two other figures stood behind them, their arms and necks bound with rope. Urgal rope is stronger than any metal, Jannah recaled. One figure fought desperately against their bindings, the other seemed resigned to their fate.

If only I could contact one of them, and we could defeat these Kul together! She sighed, realizing the futility of this plan. The captives were probably gurding their minds, and to let herself become so vulnerable at a time like this would be a foolhardy as running straight into an Urgal's horn.

Still, the man who stood still caught her attention, and she longed to have his help. Finally, Jannah stopped thinking and looked towards the Kul.

"Leave this place!" she commanded, the generations of her noble blood transforming her voice and allowing her to speak with the authority of an empress.

The Kul merely grinned, raised a axed-spear, and charged toward her. A sad grin appeared on Jannah's face. She raised Draumr in her right hand while extending her left, whispering another spell. An orb of maroon light appeared around her palm, and, at Jannah's word, a cord of light ran through the Kul's heart. It froze, a look of confusion on its face, before it crumpled. The other Urgals roared angrily in protest.

"Do not worry, your kin is not dead. Or even injured, for that matter. He is merely unconcious." Jannah whispered. She knelt and picked up the Kul by his neck. She took three steps toward the others, set him down, and then retreated back to her original place.

"If you do not leave, now, I will have no choice but to fling you into the void of death, which I myself fear so much I never wish to cast anyone there ever again. Unbind your prisoners and leave them here, and be gone." They did not move. "Leave, now!"

But it was useless. The Kul had seen her greatest fear, her greatest weakness. One extended a short blade, and put it before the young man's throat.

"No!" cried Jannah, cursing her failure to practice complicated spells through her years in seclusion. In her horror, Jannah never saw a fifth Kul come towards her through the back wall. Her arms were bound with rope, and her mind with a spell a Kul could never have cast, before the blade was moved from the man's neck.

"No," Jannah cried again. "How did you get here, no Kul could have managed it! All my spells, all my," And at that instant, she cursed the false security that had caused her to put down her wards that morning.

Carsaib lay at the bottom of the hill for some time, he counted three days, but he was being dillusional. After a few hours of being down there, a rough arm gripped him once again, along with the rough rasp of a Kull. After a few minutes of painful movement he heard wood being trampled on, and the air grew warm. I must be inside a house of some sort! The Urgal dropped him inconsiderately on top of the other prisoners and he yelped with pain and began to squirm again, in a desperate attempt to get free. A moment later, a mailed foot hit his elbow and he stopped moving and began to curse and moan. It was only later he felt the other prisoners move slightly around him.

Ioksok was being smashed he could hardly breath fighting for air he started squrming slightly. He heard shouting in the gruntel langue of urgals. then he passed out from the lack of air.

OOC- yay! Somone to ruin it.

Jannah awoke with considerable pain in both her hip and head. Hayn! Where are you? She called, the effort causing her head to throb.

The dragon did not reply. The eggs! Jannah though. Glancing around her, she could no longer feel the presence of the four small dragons. "No!" She cried aloud. The chamber was dark, and she could feel the presence of others just outside the scope of her mind. A single tear came forth from her emerald eyes and slide down her cheek, which she relaized was covered in blood. "Waise heill," she murmered, not really caring what sort of physical state she was in.

"Hayn, Adrian, Chaand, what should I do?" It all seemed so hopeless. She, one of the only living Dragon Riders, captured by Kul. It was pathetic, it was demeaning, it was . . . not possible. No Kul could cut her off from her magic, it had to be a Shade, or an incredibly strong magician, or a Dragon Rider. Not Galbatroix! She pleaded. Then it dawned on her: she had just used magic to heal herself! It was back. She quickly untied herself, but found standing was impossible due to the low ceiling of wherever they were.

She had to figure out what she knew, what she needed to find out, and what she needed to do. Whoever has cast the magical paralysis spell obviously did not have the strength to keep it up. The eggs were gone, and she was cut off from Hayn. Chaand, thank all magic, was safe in Ellesmera, studying magic and the like. If her daughter had been captured, Jannah's very heart and soul would have died. Now, what she needed to do was . . .

"What I need to do is get out of this infernal cave!" She spat in annoyance. And then she realized that two men were opposite the cave from her. She noticed one as the man who had been threatened in her house. He had acquired several new scars since then, Jannah knew from using a darkness-vision spell, but his spirit was strong. An open wound the shape of a shoe adorned his elbow.

She crept towards him, tapped uninjured arm, and whispered, "I think I can get us out of here, but you'll need to help me. Firstly, let me say this: Eka fricai un Shur'tugal." She waited for his response, wondering what he knew of the ancient language, if anything. Normally, she would have told no one of her identity as rider. Even Islanzadi was ignorant of her existance, Chaand claiming to be an orphan when arriving in Ellesmera. But she trusted this man, and if could help her rescue Hayn's eggs, she would only stop at killing herself for him.

Not that she cared for his wellbeing or emotions. If he turned out to be an ignorant warrior who had crossed the wrong Kul's path, he was useless to her. She would merely move on to the other person in the cave. But still, her hopes were high . . .

OOC: Glenwing, just so you know, Jannah is (I'm) talking to you in the ancient language. Ioksok, feel free to add more detail and help the story, or leave. I'm not trying to be mean, I just want this RP to be nice, long, and good.

OOC: Can I join. I can put in alot of detail.

OOC: Sure, Erais, just be sure to follow the initial plot and such. Right now, your only real options are to be another prisoner or someone who's discovered the cave. Please stick to the format and all, and I prefer good spelling and grammer. (curse my mother the english teacher, not me! )

OOC: Don't worry. My mom home schools me. And my sister is always correcting me.

IC: Erias felt herself being dropped on the floor with two other figures. She could hear a scared voice. But only barely. She tried to move, but the drug was to strong. She felt someone in need of help. Erias then thought trying to connect them. 'I will help you. But you first need to help me.' Erias waited for a reply.

OOC- Yay thats better

IC- Carsaib cursed again, then hissed softly. "I've been beaten in a bag the last few days, how can I possibly help you!" He tried to arange himself comfortably in the bag, when he was picked up and dropped out of the bag onto the hard, dark floor once more. He gasped for the air that he had been deprived of in the bag, he saw the others unbound and the room was filled with the shadows of many Urgal and Kull. "Your both insane, we can't escape here alive, not with these odds. You are a what and a friend?" His ancient language skills was far from perfect but he still knew of it.

Erias' was unbound. She lay on the ground not moving. One of the Kull said something. Then the one closest kicked her in the stomach. She then groaned. She looked up and saw everyone. Then she slowly stood up. She then staggered. "You have kiiled everyone I have ever loved." She took a step forward. "You have destroyed many lives." She then took another step forward. SHe then grabbed onto the wall for support. "I won't let you do this anymore." She then looked at Jannah. She looked away. Her pendant glowed. Then She glowed, her eyes burning gold. Then there was a flash. She stood there as the Light Guardian. She said something. Then a sword appeared. She then started to kill the Kull when..

Jannah sat in the cave thinking. The man seemed weak with injury. If he was more agreeable, she could help him, or perhaps he'd be able to help himself. She sighed. How was it that all good people were hurt this way? She had known too much loss to be surprised, but the wounds on him were heart breaking.

Suddenly, another presence tried to enter Jannah's mind. Sensing that it wasn't Hayn, she put up barriers. I will not be caught unaware again. My training can overcome any mind. She thought. She extended a burning mental claw out towards the intrusion, grasping the concious and squeezing it mercilessly, outpouring all of her anger and sorrow on the mind of the intruder.

The mind had its own protection, but Jannah was too overwrought to care. She sent her voice into the conciousness, so loudly that it bounded around the cave and every mind within it could hear:

I am Jannah, Keeper of the Pure Eggs. Leave my mind at once or face unsurrmounted horror. You have no idea who I am or what I can do to you, so unless you wish your mind ruined for the rest of you life, talk aloud to make your will known.

The minds in the cave were strong, and Jannah had to push merely to have them hear her, not to enter them. This way, she could not be pulled into a mental trap, but she also did not know the intentions of her companions. Jannah leaned back against the cave wall, exausted.

"I wish to be out of here. If you wish to help, speak now or I am leaving this miserable place! I'm also a Rider, a Shur'tugal, of the olden times. I only say because I assume these Kul already know, that being the reason they captured me."


OOC: Confused about the title? It'll come back, if the stroy goes the way I want it to. Oh yeah, and can we get out of the cave already?

Erais made a war cry. But she had used to much energy. She passed out. She went normal. "Bind her back up." Said one Kull. They drugged her again. When she woke up she was tied to someone else. She fell asleep.

OOC- This is getting far fetched now, teleporting a group of people away is hard and an imprecise art. We should of used stealth ^^

OOC: Okay I will edit it.

OOC: I agree, and we need to rescue the eggs and the rest of our things!

OOC: I edited. Its one of your guys turn.

Jannah squirmed as she was tied to the girl, but she knew better than to resist. After the Kul left, she sighed. She had spotted her sack. "Dimwitted creatures," she muttered. She uttered a spell and the bag came toward her bound hands. She found her sword, fairth and the eggs, which were unharmed.

"But why would they leave them?" She asked aloud. Her instincts told her it was a trap. "Hey, girl, wake up!"

The girl was weak, critically. The man was tied next to them. "So, how should we escape? We need a plan, but first things first, what's your name? You know mine, I'm Jannah."

The cave was empty but for the captives. Jannah began to breath more freely, and twitched her aching hands. No matter what, those Kul will not get me again.

OOC: As for where this is going, how about the cave being inside others, us being in somekind of dungeon? I would really like to battle some Kul and find out (make-up) who's helping the Urgals capture us.

OOC-can i join i could be with my dragon, horse, or by myself i dont really care.....

OOC: Fine with me.

IC: Erias heard someone asking her name. "Erias." Was all she could force out. She was so weak she could barely move. She felt other people around her. She didn't care. Then the same haunting dream she kept having came back. She screamed.

OOC: Saphira57, same things I said to Erais apply to you. You can be one of the Dragon eggs, if you wish.

I won't be able to update for a couple hours, but I'll be back tonight. Don't do anything major with out me!

OOC: No problem. See you later

OOC-ok see ya

Jannah looked at the girl, who seemed more at Death's door than Adrain had the night he died. She gazed at her in sympathy and then said, "Erais, do not fade just yet. I belive we can win against these Urgals. First, I can untie us, then we should try to figure out exactly where we are. Killing Urgals may be neccessary, and above all else, remember this: an alliance between only goes as far as getting all of us safely out of here. After that, you might as well forget you have known me, for no on else in the land knows I exist."

Jannah unbound the tree of them and lay Erais slowly on the ground. Jannah's head was pounding again. All she could think of were Hayn and the eggs. At least they were safe, but why had the Urgals left them? That was what really puzzled her.

Erais and the man both seemed concious enough to listen, so she began her tale:
"If I am about to go into battle with you, I feel you should know who I truly am. I make a point of knowing who my allies are, and them knowing who I am. I was born a human and at the age of 14, a dragon, Hayn, hatched for me. As is the way of these things, I was taken to Ilirea for training. Soon after it was complete, The Fall of the Riders began. My husband, Adrian, and his dragon, Aoyr, were both killed. I only survived because I was not in battle. I had been pregnant, and was in Ilirea. After Adrian's death, Hyan and I flew to Kirtan, Adrian's birth place. There I gave birth to my daughter, Chaand, and Hayn laid her last nest of eggs. These four, in this sack, are the last eggs of the Maroon Dragon Hayn and the Navy Blue Dragon Aoyr. None of them have hatched.

So now you know who I am, and I will say this in closing: my goal is merely to get these eggs to safety, and if I hear that either of you has spoken of my existance to anyone after we leave here, I will hunt you down and slit your throats," Jannah did not mention that she has taken an oath never to kill again, but that was besides the point. She'd erase their memories and cause them tortuous pain instead.

"Now then," Jannah said, "I still need to know your name, boy, and why you're here. Erais, I can tell you're in no condition to talk, but I neeed you to tell us as much as you can. Then, we need a plan."

"hello!, anyone there" i yelled. blake was wandering through the forest wondering if any one was out there. he was stranded of the path and saw an indentation in the land with tracks of somthing by it. "hello!" i yelled once more.

OOC- i might be back on tonight for a bit but otherwise ill see you tomarrow

Then Erias woke up. She was perfectly fine. She then said. "No there was one more egg. I have it." Erias then pulled out the pure white egg. "Though there is a spell on it so it won't hatch." She then said to herself. "What if. Jannah. I know why the eggs haven't hatched yet. They all have to hatch togther. Its the only way." Then Erais stood up she walked over to her stuff. She then turned around and said to Jannah. "Your husband transported one of the eggs to my mother.> Why? would he do that. I found out that my mother and your husband were brother and sister.< So then she hid it. When they killed my mother, they raided her home. They took me and the egg." Erais then said some immportant details about her child hood.

OOC: Huh? That was a big step. I was sort of planning on the eggs having riders, at least 2 of them.

OOC: You can still do that. They just haven't hatched yet becuase my egg has a spell on it. Get it.

"hello" i yelled again as i was investigating the indentation.

OOC-did you say u had a purple egg?

OOC - Yah, there is a purple egg, a blackish-red one, a peach one, and a opal-blue one.

Erais said. "The Kull and urgals are coming back. We need to retie ourself. Get back in the position we were in." She said as she took her amulet off. She instantly fell to the ground. They got everthing back to were the Kull left it. They grunted. They put bags over there heads, picked them up, and left.

then i hid as i saw a kull band heading into the cave and then taking to hosteges and a lot of bags out "i cant take them all on ill have to this the stealthy way...not my strong suit"

Jannah had had enough. She muttered several words and the Kul fell to the ground. She whipped around and drew Draumr. Within an instant, two of the Kul were with out arms.

"Quickly!" she cried. "Fight back, we NEED to get out of here!" In another flury of color, the ropes around her ankles were cut.

Then, the sack began to glow. An instant later, a light blue dragon crawled out of it. It lept towards Jannah and crawled up her shoulder. "What? Why now?"

The dragon was female. My name is Eppa, she said. Her eyes were a startling shiny, charcoal color, and she was smaller than she should have been.

Jannah grapsed the dragon in a fit of tenderness. "Finally," she murmered.

One Kull reached. It got what it needed. Erais screamed as she was lifted up. She put her emulet back on her neck. Then burst from the bag spinning. The Kull fell down. Then out of her bag crawled a pure white dragon. Only its eye were silver. One Kull lunged at it. Erais grabbed it. Erais and the Dragon glowed. 'I am Erador.' The mark appeared on Erais' hand and forehead. 'How did that happen.' She thought.

then i appered in the battle saying "fine evening it is ma,ams" i said jokingly "now we just have to get out of it"

there was another glow and a dragon appered by Blake saying 'my name is Keriaia.'

"Uh what just happened." Erais asked aloud. She was still holding Erador. Erador was snuggling in her arms.

"i think there were dragon eggs in the bag they must of hatched when they sensed their riders were near" he asked Keriaia she said 'yes correct'

"I know that." She said. "I mean....This." She said pointing to her forehead, Were a silver mark glowed.

then i looked at my right palm it was shining to he got a better look and saw it was the gedway insignia. "its the gedway insignia" i said "we all alredy had magical powers this shows you are a rider and since we already had magic powers it should boost them considerably."

'It was because you are a light gardian.' Erador mentaly siad to everyone. 'Thats why you have a mark on your head.'

'so we were already light gaurdians we just didnt know it' i asked Keriaia she snorted and replied 'yes'

OOC-i have to get off if u can wait for me otherwise do whatever ill be on tomarrow aroung 4:00

OOC: Wow that was random. And really uncalledfor.

OOC: Me or the other person.

OOC: Both. The entire Guardians thing, and people coming out of nowhere and having dragons hatch for them is a lot less sofisticated than I though this story would be. It should have happened gradually, giving people time to understand the different dragons. And I just really don't like the enitre Light Guradian thing, it would never happen.

OOC: I am the only light guardian. Well sort of. She is not exactly that. And they keep copying me. I just wanted my dragon to hatch. Fast. If you don't like me then I can leave if you want.

OOC: I do not not like you, I just thought it was going a bit fast. I have nothing against you, you've helped this story get along well. It's just gotten a bit out of hand and totally different from my first post.

OOC: I am sorry. Should we edit our posts. And if you don't want me just say yes or no.
