Ok I swear on the holiest of the ancient language that in the Book Eragon, Saphira snatches up a rat and eats it not long after she hatches. This is also seen in the movie. Later allowing for a joke to be made upon her consumption of an enemy. I have read the section of Saphira's birth in the book a dozen times and can't find it. I admit that it has been awhile since I read the book, (I'm currently reading the series again) Am I NUTS in thinking that it's in the book?

It is quite literally driving me mad trying to find out. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

Well in the book on page 40 eragon sets out to feed saphira some dry meat and at the end of this process she was no longer ungry so it could not have been at this point. On page 42 you learn that saphira as been eating birds, but the process is not actually explain. You are only told of the feathers that are on the ground which could have only resulted from her eating.

This event was probably added to the movie. It does not seems to exist in the book.

Yeah I reached the part of the book later where the continuation of the joke would have been and nothing was there. As I figure I mixed up the book and the movie having been so long since I read it. It was just driving me bonkers. Thanks.

Well when I first saw the movie I remember that it had been a part that I had like about the adaptation. There are alot of things that the movie has added or removed to the story from the book. One of the reason that the fans might not have accepted it with open arms.
