Yes, I know there are a lot of topics concerning who is the next rider. I'm just posting my friends theory here, and I think it makes a LOT of sense.

Katrina is the next dragon rider because...

She is within the empire's clutches. She has a very good chance to steal th egg if she gets the chance. Second of all is the mysterious dream Eragon has: A man and a woman on a boat, 2 dragons flying overhead, a man on the beach crying. When Katrina becomes the next rider, she leaves with Eragon. Roran is the one on the beach, crying and cursing Eragon for taking his love.

I'm not sure f this theory has been posted before, so plz lock this if it has.

maybe not in this exact wording, but...

a kid in my bros grade said he has a friend who hacked a site, i think cps or somthing official, and saw it was katrina, but i doubt it, as she's not the right type. a minor character with no real abilities. it would kind of ruin the book for me if it was. i guess it makes sense, but would be wierd. i'd not like it at all

if this does happen i am going over to CP's house and punching him in the face and crotch until he changes it. The story has been going over and over again how Roran and Katrina love each other fiercely. She would not so easily fall for his cousin's love because it would be betraying Roran and Katrina. Eragon doesn't seem that sort of person that would so carelessly tear that to pieces.

Its a posibility, but not a likely one. But dont worry, my theory is even more absurd.......

Whatif Roran is the one crying on the beach because Eragon and Katrina are leaving because of the fall of the dragon riders and Roran cant come? I think that would be very cool if she was the rider. A human woman. That would also create a very intresting love story for the book. I dont know though.

clearly you didn't read my post... CP can't do that because of the bond Roran and Katrina have made. If Eragon took Katrina then I think Roran would settle into a frenzy and kill Eragon. See previous post.

Well, yes i did read your post. I ment that Eragon woudnt be the one tearing them apart. It would be Katrina's duty as a dragon rider. But i agree, I dont think CP could do that.

Not him but what about their dragons? If they fall in love with each other (and they don't have much choises) that what suppose to happen to their riders? Pretty much the same right? That's why i hate this connection thing so badly

not neccessarily. and seeing as CP developed and showed their love so much, i doubt he'd just change it. itd kind of ruin the story, and would make no sense at all

True. Katrina wouldn't go with Eragon. Which one do you think is worth more to her: Love, or her duty as a dragon rider? (Personally I think they are equal)

The whole theory makes more sense than if the women is arya. Besides if arya and eragon were leaving who on earth would be bawling on the shore? it just doesnt add up. katrina and eragon would be a bit awkward but if their dragons fall in love well..... besides who died and made eragon the fortune teller of man kind? this was just a dream after all and could just be a distraction from the story. even eragon could have eaten some bad meat.

But I still think the dragon rider is going to be someone we dont know yet or some minor charcter right now.

Nup. That would never happen. I think it has to be someone major. And yes, I think the Arya theory fits perfectly even though I don't like her (no offense). I mean, its not likely Saphira will fall in love with Thorn, so it must be the third dragon. Saphira X Greeny and Eragon X Arya! ^^ Everyone's happy...

can CP really afford to train another rider?
i think the next rider will be someone with abilities already most likely Arya because it all makes sense, the Katrina theory does make alot of sense but i dont think CP has enough time to train another rider even tho he is writing another 2 books
