Zeke lifted his head and looked at the boy. No, not a boy, a man. He tilted his head as he saw the man. Such strange eyes. Although he couldn't really see them, once reason being he was blind, but the man had his face hidden in a hood. The multi-colored purple rumbled in his chest, though it was more of a greeting now than before. He chuckled lightly, humor touching his eyes. I have no argument with a twoleg. he said, and laid his head back down. He opened his inner eyelids, which he had closed earlier to protect them from any sand, which revealed his piercing ice blue eyes to the human. He was intrigued when Alex spoke of the east. He chuckled once more when the twoleg asked why he was this far east. My friend, I've been much farther east than this. I was just coming this way to visit my baby sister. By the way, I'm Zeke. he said, then closed his eyes once more and went back to sunbathing. He gestured to Alex with his tail for him to come forward. Come forward and get your supplies, then. I won't bite. he said, and chuckled.

Zeke hummed a bit as he ran. He raised his head to sniff at the wind as it blew gently into his face. He almost stopped. Then he laughed. Why hello Snare. Myself and Savania were wondering about you a few weeks back. he called ahead, slowing to a trot.

Zeke stopped beside the wolf shifter and grinned down at her. Think nothing of it my friend. It is good to see you doing well. he said, lowering his head to her level. He glanced back at Alex as he introduced himself and asked Snare a question. He winced as she snapped her reply out. Snare, easy. He couldn't have known before he asked, which is not his fault. he soothed, humming in his throat. Though you know my offer still stands, if you want it. he said. He smiled and nuzzled her side with his snout. Would you like a ride? I'm sure your paws are sore from walking. he said. Then he glanced back at Alex again. And to answer your question Alex, no they do not. There are some more intelligent than others, though most are no more than the average animal. he said.

I'm used to the elders being all calm and serious." he replied, glancing towards the mountains as the footsteps grew louder. He had only seen a few dragons and most were far away. It did interest him what Jia could look like. Glancing over at Snare, she had a worried look but he decided not to ask questions.[/color]

Stretching out on Zeke's back, Snare peered in the direction he spoke of. She was tired and not really in the mood for meeting new people, but maybe she'd end up liking this Jia. Besides, she didn't really have anything better to do, "Why is she is the mountain? Just to try and keep her safe?" she asked.

Zeke grinned. She'll tire you out quickly, though. he said with a laugh. He looked up; the pawsteps were nearly upon him. He was a few hundred yards from the trees, and he heard the snapping of twigs as she barreled her way through. Finally he heard her break out of the treeline and meet sand. Zeke! she cried happily, sprinting for him. He hoped she saw his passengers and wouldn't try to knock him onto his back. He rumbled happily as she approached, his eyes warm with affection for his little sister.

Johdzsia burst through the treeline, her scales fairly glowing with happiness at seeing her brother. She sprinted out onto the sand, and she knew she made quite a sight; golden scales glittering madly, amethyst lines that were between each scale accentuating her beautiful hide. She saw the passengers on Zeke's back and, instead of leaping into his chest and knocking him onto his back like she usually would, she merely slithered gracefully to a stop in front of him. He lowered his head to her and nuzzled her shoulder. Hello, my precious one. he prummed. She purred with delight and stroked his cheek with her snout. She looked up at the two on his back, noting one was a human and the other a wolf. She tilted her head curiously, teal-aquamarine shining. Hi, I'm Jia. Who might you two be? she chirped in greeting, her tail waving back and forth excitedly.

Jia raised an eyebrow at Alex. Doesn't sound very appetizing... she said, then chuckled.

Jia perked up, her eyes sparkling. Oh, please Z, can we go now, please? Please? she said, looking up at her brother with an expression that rivaled that of a begging puppy. He laughed. Oh alright, fine. But if we encounter trouble, and I mean any kind if trouble, you run. he said firmly. She rolled her eyes but nodded. Will you come too, Z? she asked hopefully. He sighed but nodded in reply.

Jia snorted scornfully. I can take care of myself, thank you. she grumbled, but Zeke's glower warned her to stay silent. She huffed impatiently. She growled with excitement as Snare mentioned the prospect of going farther east. Zeke's snarl was low but a warning. Jia, you are going no where near the wilds of the east until you are fully grown and I know you can take care of yourself. he snapped. She scowled. Without warning she pulled in her right wing and swung sharply to her left, crashing into her brother's shoulder. She latched all four feet into his scales and thrust her wings to make her carry her weight in a roll while still holding on to her brother. He snarled at her but didn't fight. Once she completed one full turn she released him. He righted himself with a flick of his wings and glowered at her. I can take care of myself. she sniffed, then pointedly turned and continued on their journey east. Zeke grumbled as he followed her.
