I'm pretty sure it's Glaedr because I think they had that picture of him in a special edition of Eldest, titled Glaedr.

So I guess we won't be finding out any other good spoilers....*sigh* I'm losing interest in the series as well. Waiting and waiting isn't helping much. Brisingr better be worth the wait

wow...the last 7 posts have contributed nothing to this conversation. Spam? I think so.
Obviously we all are members of Saphiraforums because we enjoy the Inheritance Series. Therefore we will all probably be content with the book no matter what after reading it.

 Re: Brisingr
Brom is to Morzan as Eragon is to Murtagh. Eragon=Brom, Murtagh=Morzan. Eragon and Murtagh INHERITED their attributes, goals, etc. from their fathers.
Eragon's inheritance: Blue dragon. Dragon's name is Saphira. Fighting against Galbatorix. Fighting against Murtagh. Good.
Murtagh's inheritance: Red dragon. Dragon's name is Thorn. Fighting with Galbatorix. Fighting against Eragon. Evil. Same sword.
We are probably going to see Eragon get Brom's sword in Brisingr. He needs a weapon and there are two Riders' swords in the care of the elves. One of those is probably Brom's.

I, for one, cannot fathom why the story turned out to be divided in two books. I mean, there was not that many things to resolve, so why two books?

 Re: Brisingr
I meant the mirror of characters, as in how Eragon is so much like Brom and how Murtagh is so much like Morzan and how Eragon is fighting against Murtagh as Brom was against Morzan.
I got caught up in the moment. XD
Annie, do you really think it would be a good book if he was only resolving things?! NO. There's plenty he still wants to put in there and it happened to be more than one book's worth.

 Re: Brisingr
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That would be horrible!!!!!! As it is, Murtagh is ashamed of being his son, and Murtagh is no 'goodie-goodie two shoes.' At this time he, as his father, represents everything wrong and evil in Alagaesia. Eragon is the complete opposite. As IMNC says, he does mirror Brom. Brom fought until the end of his life against all the evil the Empire represents, and now Eragon is doing the same. So, I do not agree that it would make the storyline more 'interesting.' But that's just my opinion.
And later on, if I have the break IMNC, I will list the unresolved situations of the book as they come to my memory. You'll see that there was enough material to end the series with 'Brisingr.'

Thanks Annie I'm pretty sure the reason that he ended up deviding it into two books was solely money. He browsed some forums, i.e Inheritance Forums/Saphiraforums etc...and realized dang...i've got a big fanbase..if I make two books, i'll get double the money I would from one book. It's a logical explanation.

You see, the same thing was said about JK Rowling when she said Dumbledore was gay! And I disagreed with those who said so.arya_rox_4.lyfe wrote: i still think it would be more interesting with morzan...but i see your point!! do you think his mothers still alive?? No, Selena is dead, and that was pretty much clear in the first book.

 Re: Brisingr
This excerpt is from Eragon, page 399, US Hardcover Edition. This is Murtagh telling Eragon about his history. The three, Murtagh, Eragon and Saphira, were being held captive at Farthen Dur, until their audience with Ajihad.
"However, before word of Morzan's and the other's deaths reached us, my mother returned. Many months had passed since she disappeared. Her health was poor, as if she had suffered a great illness, and she grew steadily worse. Within a fortnight, she died."
So there it is. Evidence that their mother is dead! Now the question that comes to mind is, what illness would consume a person in fourteen days to the point of death?

Leaving her newborn baby behind? Her possibly impossible (Brom) love and her being united? The thought or realization she could never be happy, seeing that at the time she was not aware of Morzan's death???
What do you think?

 Re: Brisingr
Well I was thinking of Brom when I said that. The statement you made about Morzan's death also makes sense. I know if I was married to Morzan, and had to live with all the court intrigues of evil villians I wouldn't be too kindly disposed to the world.
I think you are spot on as to why. That's the impression I get after reading the wording of the book quote.

But Kotor, the book never categorically states Morzan married Selena. It does, however, say she left to "accompany him in his travels."

Yeah. Morzan and Selena's relationship falls under the category of "Bow-chika-bow-wow". They never married or anything. Not once were the words 'wife' or 'married' mentioned in reference to Selena.

The movie is sooo bad! all they did was read the back of the book and ask a friend for anything impportant, like Brom's death.

AleahLasky, this is not the place to be discussing the movie. The place you are looking for is most likely in one of the sub-forums of viewforum.php?f=43The topic you've posted in is for the discussion of the 3rd book of the Inheritance Cycle
