It hadn't worked. She refused to even look at him. Well, he thought, if she's not willing to rest, I might as well rest for her. He transferred most of his energy to her, then weakly hobbled over to a tree, trying to regain as much strength as he could.

Post Re: Journey
Oromis stood silent and watched all the comotion as Glaedr was still growling and bearing teeth.

Daidrea could not believe what was going on. Whats gotten into her? She's worse than before they first met.
Thinking, Daidrea leaned against a wall. I know her past troubles her, I too know what it's like to lose a dragon...but this..

He walked over to Erais, "Erais..look at yourself, why do you push away people that care for you and want to help? You are not the only one Erais. We all can bear your pain with you but if you push us away, you will be lost in darkness. It's a terrible feeling to be alone, I know you've felt it most after you lost your partner and it can be hard to accept. But know this, although in body your dragon is gone, he will always be with you in your mind and heart."

He began walking away, he turned and said, "You are not alone." He turned and left the house.

Erais' eyes snapped open in surprise as she felt energy flow into her body, for a moment she glared at Mesaraih, but than it softened. "I push them away because I don't want to drag them down with me. This is my burden...it was my fault." Her voice cracked. "I'd rather be alone in this... I've been alone long enough to live with it." Erais wasn't as threatening as before, but the same effect was put into her words.

"I don't care if I'm alone or not, I want to be alone." She said a bit sadly, her face fell for a moment before it hardened again. "I can't except the fact, sorry Daidrea, but I won't...it would be admitting defeat." Erais didn't like her pride getting hurt like that.

Mesaraih walked away, resigned. She was having a moment of nearly unendurable pain. He had had them as well, and he knew nothing would sway her for the moment. "Good luck," he yelled back at her. "You'll need it."

Post Re: Journey
It was late and Daidrea was sitting outside byhimself thinking while looking at the full moon. Elyrana..I dont know what to do. I feel lost..unsure. My mind is clouded over whats been happening. Have I been following the right path? Have I been doing whats best?
Daidrea continued to dwell in his thoughs for some time.

"You seem uneasy Daidrea."

He turned to see who it was. It was Oromis.
"Master..I dont know what to do now." "I..." He trailed off.

He looked at Daidrea intensely. "There are times that you cannot solve things with your mind Daidrea. For it is an unpredictable thing. Instead of listening to your thoughts, try listening to your heart. Do what you feel is right."
He noticed that Daidrea was still looking with a sad face. Oromis smiled, "That girl reminds me much of you when you were younger, before you had Elyrana. No parents, no siblings, no comrades, you felt the same way she did.

Daidrea couldnt help but chuckle a little. "Yes, I remember. But you helped me Master, you Glaedr, and Elyrana, saved me from darkness, from being cold." He looked towards the moon again. "I suppose it's why I want to help her as you did me. It's strange, I barely even know her and yet I want to help her from that pain."
Oromis smiled, "I cant blame you, you are both alike in many ways. Even your temper at one time."

Daidrea could tell there was a touch of sarcasm in his voice.. but he was right. So he smiled.

Mesaraih felt weak, but he did not want to rest in an indoor room, even though he knew he would only be inside a tree. He wanted to sleep against more than just a simple tree, though. So he simply lay down on the ground, his head leaning against a tree. He was rather drowsy, and sleep soon came, with thoughts of Erais swirling in his mind.

Erais didn't move much as night settled in. Her mind was swirling around with so many jumbled and confused thoughts. She lay on the ground and looked up at the patches of stars visible through the empty spaces between the trees. What am I doing? Why do I have to act this way? Erais thought to herself as she gazed upon the stars. Why had I been so selfish? If I had only reconized when Erador and I couldn't hold up anymore, why hadn't I got us out of there?

She could feel the regret and guilt settle inside of her. Erais knew it was her fault, and that was probably why she was so cold and harsh towards everyone. Because they knew not the guilt of being the cause of your dragons death.

That night Mearaih dreamed of his old partner. He thought he had been able to overcome it with Rubya, but watchin Erais she had brought back old memories of his own dragon. None of them knew that his dragon had been killed by his very own family, just because of the uknown hatred of one parent... But then he remembered Rubya again, and throughout the rest of that night she joined thoughts with him, comforting him as the wind howled and caused the trees to whisper unknown secrets to each other....

As Daidrea and Oromis continued their discussion, Glaedr had other business on his mind. He was looking towards Erais who seemed to be lost in thought. He walked over to her and sat not far beside her.

I must apologize for my rudeness earlier. I meant you no harm, but please do not do that again towards my partner. He's not just a retired rider or foolish old man. He has trained people to be dragon riders and is very wise. He can be blunt at times though. However it's something we have in common. Glaedr looked at the girl who seemed unmoved for what he just said. Almost at random, Glaedr asks, Who was your partner?

Post Re: Journey
Mesaraih woke up in a rather uncomfortable position, and all of his muscles felt sore. He had done many things in his dreams, passed thorough many harsh obstacles, but no matter how hard he tried he had always failed. He couldn't shake off the feeling that that might happen soon in reality as well. He looked to the distance at Erais. He felt his stomach flutter with an uneasy feeling. Feeling strangely ignored, he stood up and started walking around in the undaunted wilderness, never straying far from the immobile form of Erais, wondering what was going through her head and wishing he could help her, but he knew she would just ignore him.

Even though Glaedr and Erais had both been rather rude to each other, Erais felt a peacefulness in his presence. It was enough to pull her from her thoughts and she responded apologetically. It was in fault as well. I shouldn't have disrespected either of you since you are both my elder, but I couldn't help it. I'm truly sorry and I do know better, but it's just that my pride gets in the way and I don't want help or comfort. I'll try not to be as harsh and rude as I was to you both in the future, but I can't promise anything Glaedr. I wish I could, but I can't. Erais felt a dull pain in her mind as he asked about Erador.

She just sat still for a long time as her mind ran through so many memories and hurts. Her eyes had dulled and she had become unresponsive, finally it seemed as if she wouldn't respond at all. Her name was Erador...it's my fault that she's gone... It was all she could manage. Erais was vaguely aware of Mesaraih walking around, but not straying very far.

Post Re: Journey
Glaeder studied her face. You must understand Daidrea's words, he can be blunt at times but he speaks the truth. Distance, Time, Life, Death will never break the bond that you had with your companion. She continues to give power to you, maybe not in mind, but in your heart. The mind can be become twisted, tainted and false. But if your heart is strong enough, you will continue to bond with your partner. Do not think of painful memories of the past, but gaze towards the future with hope with your heart.

Even when your in the deepest darkness, you will truely never be alone, for your dragon is always with you. Glaedr looked towards outside where Daidrea and Oromis were still talking. Daidrea was once like you, he stopped and there was some strange rumbling in his chest which seemed to be some type of laugh or chuckle, he did have quite the temper when he was younger.

Glaedr became silent. When it happened...The Fall, Daidrea was abosolutly devistated. He became enraged and dark. He swore revenge on the ones who killed his dragon. Eventually he did kill the ones who did it, But even after that it was not enough for him. He went on a rampage of killing of many people. He brought much bloodshed, however then something unexpected happened. His connection with magic became severed and his bloodthirst had vanished and his mind was clear again. I cannot explain it myself, but I believe it was Elyrana who was resposible for what happened. I'm sure that she did not want her partner the way he was and become a mindless killing monster. For even through death, she is still connected with him. Although Daidreas power is diminished, it is not completely cut off. That power within him is still there, you saw it with your battles. Although he has the control over when to use it, that was only some of his power. In that form he can do things that are "unnatural." While we were training with him, Oromis and I saw the full extent of his ability and the result was somewhat shocking. He became completely transformed and became a dragon resembling Elyrana. Because of his condition, the magic used to such an extent nearly killed him. He was out for about two weeks.

The reason I'm telling you this is for two reasons. To know what your up against if he gets out of control and to support him, although his connection with Elyrana has not faltered, he himself is getting weaker. The effects put much toll on mind and body.

I'm sure the reason he wants to help you is that he does not anyone to follow his path. Do not give in to hopeless thoughts Erais, for it will consume you.
And with that Glaedr gets up and walks away.

Post Re: Journey
Mesaraih shivered. He felt like something was holding outside the city, and soon it would burst and consume everything in its path. He didn't want to leave Erais, but he was too uneasy to continue being around here. He had to go see if something was happening or if it was just his imagination. He slowly walked away, soon leaving the boundaries of Ellesmera. He walked a while more, then what he saw shocked him. There was a huge force outside the city, and it was still gathering. As he continued to look, more Urgals and soldiers were joining the huge group. Together they took up a vast amount of space. He quickly turned around. He had to inform the elves of what was happening, but then he felt sharp pain in his back. An arrow protruded from the middle of his back. They had spotted him. He could try to outrun them, but that could bring a group of them to the city. He would have to get out of their sight in a direction that wasn't to the city, then circle the army and head to the city to alert the elves. And it had to be done fast. He ran as fast as he could to the opposite of the city, then, behind a tree, turned into a wolf. Now, with more speed, he ran to the right for a long time, then turned sharply back again. When he had gone a considerable distance he turned left again and the city was soon in sight. He ran towards it as fast as he could, and soon he reached the place where they had been resting.

Erais listened quietly to what Glaedr said. It actually explained a lot and helped her understand Daidrea better. She hadn't ever imagined him to ever act up like that, he was too collected and had a coolness about him that didn't seem like he would ever be reckless or bloodthirsty. It also made her think, from her newly acquired information, it helped undo the knots from her past. As Glaedr left her, she couldn't stop her mind from reeling about. After a while of thinking, she pulled from her thoughts and realized that she was quite alone.

Standing up to look about, she felt extremely recovered now. She couldn't see Glaedr, Daidrea, Oromis, or Mesaraih anywhere. Where'd they go? She asked herself as she began to walk around. After a while, a rather large wolf came bounding into the area and after a few moments she realized it was Mesaraih. "What's going on?" Her voice betrayed a little bit of fear, for everything felt so wrong at the moment.

Mesaraih turned back into human, rubbing his back a little in the place where the arrow had hit him. He hadn't noticed it was still there. "It's them. There's a whole bunch of enemies just outside Ellesmera. The force is huge, and they're still gathering," he said rather breathlessly. "We have to get ready."

"They are already here?" Damn, this isnt good. None of us have completely recovered yet. My kind are strong but if shades are in that army they cannot hold out. Why is this happening..

Glaedr reappeared and walked towards the three of them. Young ones, I am going to lend you my strength. However, by doing this I will not be able to join you in battle, replenishing all three of you takes alot of energy, so I beg you, do not fail.

Glaedr breathed heavily on the 3 companions, they all felt regained strength and their injuries vanished. After he was done, Glaedr lied down to rest.

Oromis then headed over to them. "I must remain here with Glaedr and make sure nothing happens to him. I wish you all well, may your hearts triumph." As he walked over to Glaedr's side he said aloud, "Dont ask for it, go out and win it. Do that and you'll succeed."

Erais made a slight face of discomfort. "Well I wasn't expecting them that soon, but this will sure be fun." She said a bit happy, the anticipation of action made her just ache to join it instantly. Thank you Glaedr, we will not fail. Erais said respectfully and bowed slightly to the old dragon. She felt wide awake and ready to kick some Shades.

"Well either way, I'm ready for them. They can't try all they want, but they'll never be able to get past three of us and all the other elves." Erais said rather happily as she began to strap on her gear. She didn't exactly have armor, but when had that ever stopped her. "Let's go kick some Empire butt." Erais said excitedly.

Mesaraih smiled as he saw Erais preparing. He felt her anticipation. Now they just had to go warn the elves and then the Empire would see the true mistake of reaching his evil hand into places like these. "Let's go," Mesaraih said. It was a short statement, but it was full of power and determination. They left, turning back to wave Oromis and Glaedr farewell. Soon they reached the center of Ellesmera, and they started rallying the elves until a considerable force had gathered. "The Empire outnumbers us," Mesaraih said, smiling. "But let's be honest with ourselves. They're weak!" He laughed. He was ready for anything.

Erais wouldn't have been able to get the excitement out of her system even if she wanted to, she was too happy to be fighting a fairly large battle. Finally I can get rid of those scum, or at least some of them. She thought with a smile. She waved to Oromir and Glaedr. "I don't think we'll fail, just stay away and we won't let them breach." Her tone was a little to happy about the prospect.

After gathering most of the elves, they waited patiently for the attack. "They may out number us in men, but they don't out number us in skill." Erais' voice rang throughout the air. She drew her sword, making it do a full circle at her side. Her body was tense from waiting, but her mind was on high alert in anticipation.

Daidrea felt uneasy, he was unsure on what was going to happen. He was already ahead scouting the enemy's forces. Looking from a tall tree, he saw the empires army stretched throughout the forest around the Elven Capital.

After he was done inspecting, Daidrea returned towards the center of the capital. He came apon his two friends waiting for him. He gather up all his gear and he prepared his mind for what was going to happen. After much thought, he glanced down at his left arm, looking at a scar from his horrendus episode days ago.

I just hope it wont come to me resorting to that again.

Erais pulled her gloves on while she waited. It was a bit nerve racking having to wait for the Empire to give their first attack. She looked over at Daidrea, with her new information about him, she was a bit worried for him. Would he be able to keep up with everyone? Standing silently they waited patiently. This was the first battle she had been in since losing Erador, she wasn't sure if she'd be able to handle it. Sighing she brought her eyes up and straight forward.

As everyone stayed silent, they could hear the dull sound of boots hitting the ground. At least they'd have the element of quietness. Everyone was equipped in light gear so they wouldn't make much sound. Soon Erais could see the Empire, most of them weren't very old, still young men. The elf city looked very different than it had many years ago when she had been here last. Now it looked like a fortress.

The Empire was clad heavily in armor. Well at least we'll be a bit faster. Erais thought to herself. The sound of a bow twang above signalled an arrow that hit one of the soldiers in the front; right in his neck, killing him instantly.

Mesaraih grimaced. That's got to hurt, he thought. Mesaraih got his sword ready and stood motionless as the battle started. When it got close to him, he charged. He wanted to stay close to Erais, but the wave of enemies separated them and soon he could not see her. He could only guess that she was in the direction where he had last seen her. He fought his way through the enemies until he caught a brief glimpse of her locked in battle ahead. Furiously slashing at all the enemies in sight, he finally managed to clear a path towards her, and he furiously fought next to her, trying to avoid being separated again.

This was definately more than she had expected. The Empire actually had some skill. Erais was attempting to fight off five of the men from the Empire and an Urgal. Luckily there were no signs of Mages or Shades. Having her energy at its fullest was a nice thing to have. She hacked away at them, plowing through them, but they kept coming. Daidrea and Mesaraih weren't in sight at all. All she could see were the soldiers trying to drive her down. After a while she realized, all of the sudden, that Mesaraih was next to her. Relieved that she wasn't alone right now, she continued to hack away. Barely dodging fatal attacks.

Mesaraih continued to slash away, but the enemies seemed endless, and they were actually pretty good. There was never one second of time to spare, and if you did, than death was an all too likely outcome. There was always somebody new to take their place. He watched as an Urgal came from behind, pointing his spear at Erais' back. He stabbed the Urgal in the heart before she reached her, realizing she had been close to death. He started blasting some Urgals with fire, they seemed to be becoming more numerous. He started noticing that for every slain Urgal, two seemed to be taking its place. It was getting hard all over, and the elves were starting to have trouble. Soon there were more yells of pain from elves than Urgals or humans from the Empire. He noticed a slight disturbance somewhere close to the right flank of the battle. Elves seemed to be suddenly turning on each other. It seemed there had still been more traitors waiting for the attack in the city itself. Anger boiled in Mesaraih's veins and he fought harder than ever.

Daidrea was quickly disposing of soldiers one by one. He tried to conserve his energy by just striking quickly at vital points. He was gaining speed and building momentum. He felt power and adrenaline coursing through him and increasing by each kill. The blood of the soldiers was covering him, he felt strange, as if after each kill, it felt good.

He concintrated...Damn, I..I'm getting that feeling, that same feeling when..
He continued to fight, struggling to keep himself under control. After dodging an attack, he spun around with his sword and cut a urugals head clean off. He started to breathe heavily, but his attacks to continue to increase in speed.

Whats happening to me..?

Erais was panting heavily as they began to double. Soon she could hear the sound of elves being singalled out, realizing there were less then half that were still loyal to the Varden. What's going on? How can we fight them off now? She asked herself worriedly. Looking around while she fought she spotted Daidrea, and he didn't look like himself. He looked like he was enjoying all the blood spilt. Erais loved a good fight, but hated killing the poor men who were forced into the army and not there because they had wanted to be.

Remembering what Glaedr had said, she realized what was probably going to happen again. She couldn't let that happen, he might die from it! Erais began to cut down anyone in her path, making a slow way to Daidrea who seemed to struggle with control. Deep in her veins something stirred, a new light came to her and she felt stronger. The feeling of someone familiar, but gone came into her heart. She wasn't sure what it was, but it was helping her reach Daidrea faster. "You need to fight it Daidrea!" She shouted to him, knowing that she wouldn't get there as fast as she wanted to get.

Mesaraih looked at Daidrea worried. He didn't know what was happening to him but he did not like it. He heard Erais yelling at him to fight him, and he realized she knew something about him that he didn't. He saw her make her way to him, and he felt a bit jealous, but right now he had to worry about Daidrea. In one huge leap, he landed right in front of Daidrea. He started to clear a space for himself, then said to Daidrea right in his ear,"I don't know what's happening to you, but you have to snap out of it or you're going to harm allies as well as enemies. This isn't like you and you need to stop."

Erais was struggling against the masses and soon had to stop and was quickly surrounded. Daidrea stop it right now! I know what's happening and Elyrana wouldn't approve of this, and would want you to stop! Erais said sternly to him through her mind, as she couldn't shout it to him. They began to over take her and she felt as if they'd never get rid of them. Than something unusual happened and a white aura faded in and out around her body. After a few moments anyone within feet burst into dust as she felt Erador's strength seep deep into her magic.

Finally able to have enough room, she ran over to Daidrea, hoping she wasn't too late. Hoping that he wouldn't go so far as to break himself.

Daidrea froze, he felt..cold. Why..am I doing this..why? Tears fell from his eyes. He stood still for the longest time as Mesaraih, Erais and the elves continued to fight. Daidrea was too lost in thought to realize his surroundings. Then from behind Daidrea, a urgal drew back his blade and pierced Daidrea through his chest.

Daidrea did not move for a few moments. Then he awoke, realized what had just happened. He fell to his knees, bleeding.
He barely uttered.. "..El..yr.ana", while staring up at the sky. He was barely able to stay conscious.

"Daidrea, no!" Mesaraih yelled. He grabbed him and quickly jumped up into a tree, escaping the heat of the battle. "What's the matter with you?" Mesaraih asked. He had to get him out of there. Jumping through the trees with Daidrea in his arms, he headed to Oromis's house. When he got there, he knocked on the door a little too hard. Oromis opened up and looked down at Daidrea surprised. "Do as much as you can for him, I have to return to the battle." He sadly left Daidrea and returned quickly to the battle. He had to reach Erais. The same thing couldn't happen to her, it couldn't...

Erais saw everything right before it happened, several elves were stabbed and while that was happening an Urgal came up from behind Daidrea, stabbing him through his chest. Her voice surprised her as she shrieked out in shock. The sound was so high pitched that the people around them had to cover up their ears.

Blasting through everyone she made it over where Mesaraih had taken him away. She was instantly over flooded by the swarms of men and Urgals. How could they win when they kept coming and most of the elves had turned? Erais felt so helpless as she continued to fight more than she could handle. There is always a chance if we have hope...even if its a fools hope. Erador's words echoed in her mind and she began to fight harder. What ever was going on, Erais knew it was coming from Erador as she was strengthened and continued to fight. Her stamina grew and she began to use magic, quickly starting to fight back the Empire along with less than half of the loyal elves.

Mesaraih held back tears as he rejoined the battle next to Erais. You better not die on me, Daidrea, not now. You too Erais, you both have to live... He noticed she was fighting stronger than ever. They had to do this, and Mesaraih still had plenty in him. They had to win. Despite their disadvantage, the small army of the loyal elves would not accept defeat. He would never accept it either. There was still much to do. He started blasting away at the enemies like a maniac. He was moving unnaturally fast, slashing unnaturally strong. I'm with you..., he heard Rubya say. I know, and together we cannot be stopped, he replied. Rubya started fighting more strongly than ever, and he was her and she was he, and now they were unstopable. Mesaraih's sword had raging flames all over it, and Rubya's mouth was surrounded by flames as well, and contact with enemies was deadly. They were going to win, Mesaraih would make sure of it. His sword slayed nonstop, and even the Urgals seemed to be stepping back in fear. They were going to win... Then Mesaraih felt a sword protruding from his chest and he felt himself hit the floor. Just as he felt the air of another sword nearing, he rolled over and stood, continuing to fight. Flames consumed his wound, and it was healing. It felt painful, but he would continue to fight.

Barely awake, Daidrea struggled to get up. "I..I cant leave them.." He began to head for the door and Oromis ran over to him.

"Daidrea stop! If you go out now, you'll die! I..I wont let you leave. Oromis began to cry himself. "Stay."

"I can't...I care about them too much." He pushed Oromis out of the way. Oromis tried to go after but he stopped.

Daidrea struggled as he ran back towards the battle. I will not quit as long as they are in danger..as long as they try to defend this place..I will defend them.

The battle raged on, Erais was fighting like never before, Mesaraih just arrived back and fighting beside her. Daidrea took out his sword and charged towards the emmense fight. With sudden renwed strength, Daidrea slashed his way through the seemingly endless soldiers towards the two of them.
Both Erais and Mesraih fought hard, Daidrea refused to give up. He reached them, but as he was about to join them, a soldier was raising an axe towards Erais and another towards Mesaraih from behind. Daidrea took out his dagger and chucked at the one about to strike Mesaraih. But he ran behind Erais and stabbed the soldier. However a bit late, the soldier continued and Daidrea took the blade to his shoulder. He threw the now dead man into the crouds of men. and took out his sword and ignored anything Erias and Mesraih might have said and ran into the crouds continuing fighting.

Erais felt the air escape her as she saw Mesaraih stabbed in the chest. This can't be happening, I won't lose them, they've done more for me than I've done for myself. Erais thought bitterly. She was slightly relieved to see his wound starting to close up, but she was extremely worried. First Daidrea, now Mesaraih, was she next? Erais wasn't paying attention to the soldier as he was about to swing his axe down. So it surprised her when Daidrea came out of nowhere and took the blow. "Daidrea you can't be out here right now!" She yelled over the sounds of battle.

Erais kept shouting at him as he dove back into the throng of enemies. Becoming frantic, she began to fight again. Already they had suffered and she still hadn't been given any fatal wounds, which she was grateful for. Slowly, and after a long while the mass of men and Urgals were starting to shrink back. Now the remaining allies began to push them back out of the city. Erais felt relieved to see that they were almost safe, finally no more fighting.

Mesaraih continued to fight with all his might. When he saw Daidrea, he shouted at him to get out, but he wouldn’t listen. He was back to his old self, but there was a new light in his eyes, some kind of hidden power. Mesaraih tried to stay as close to them as he could. He didn’t want either of them to suffer any more wounds. It would be too much to bear. He was releived to see that the siege was becoming weaker on the Empire’s part. He knew they would win. The Empire would learn the true foolishness of their mistakes. They would never win, and one day, Galbatorix would be overthrown.

Daidrea did not stop, he ignored his injuries and did whatever he could to attack. Although he was able to hold back his bloodthirst, he was slowly getting weaker.
He tried to muster any strength he could. I need to protect this place, I need to protect my friends. He kept repeating the same thing over and over in his mind. Daidrea had many close calls, but was able to manage avoiding any more fatal blows.

After some time, it just seemed that the soldiers were endless. Doubt filled him. Do I really have to again..? Do I have to end so many more lives, either ally or enemy just to stay alive?

Should I just let death take me...?

Erais kept fighting, feeling her strength only waver slightly. The Empire was starting to feel fear, realizing that numbers didn't secure a victory. She was relieved to see the fear on their faces, or sensing their fear. Looking around Mesaraih looked better off than he was earlier. The elves were fine, each were fighting like three. Looking around again it took her a while to find Daidrea, once she did he didn't look well at all. Fear quickly instilled in her and she fought her way easily towards him. Daidrea you don't look good, you should have stayed with Oromis! She told him sternly. He looked like he was about to topple over. Quickly taking a spot next to him she began to fight everyone off, giving Daidrea a chance to get a breath.

Come on, we still need you. Just rest, I'll keep them away. She said while thrashing out at the men. One of the soldiers got dangerously close to striking her through her heart, but luckily her reflexs were quicker than his and he was down; Erais' dagger protruding from his own heart. I can't let the old fool die. Erais was refering to Daidrea, a bit pissed off at how he had acted. He looked like he was ready to give up.

Mesaraih had been so engrossed in his own fight he hadn't noticed Daidrea swaying, but now that he did, he quickly went to his side and started fending off attacks like Erais. "Daidrea, you have to snap out of it! There are still people here who care about you and have a hope of winning, and you have to do your part! You're not going to leave us like this, you hear me!" Mesaraih yelled. Without really knowing what else to do, he punched him in the face, trying to wake him from his reverie.

Even though Mesaraih wanted to help Daidrea, he did the wrong thing. Daidrea snapped. His eyes changed, they turned cold and dark. He drew up his sword and merely swung it once towards the groups of men. It unleashed a large blast wave, cutting most in half. However after he did it, his arm opened up with gashes fro mthe effect of the large use of magic. Daidrea continued to walk foward. He began to run and slashed at anyone, friend or foe that was in his way. People around him were running, trying to escape his rampage. Enemies fleed in fear, while his elven brotheren drew back towards the city huddling together watching.

Mesaraih looked in shock as Daidrea started to turn murderous again. "No, you fool!" Mesaraih yelled. He ran after Daidrea, trying to get him back under control, but he slashed at Mesaraih as well. Mesaraih quickly sidestepped him and started to try and grab him, but it was too dangerous. He had to fight. He did, but all he did was block Daidrea, not try to hit him. What am I supposed to do? thought Mesaraih. Daidrea couldn't carry on like this. If he continued, his body would be annihalated. Acting fast, Mesaraih parried Daidrea, and hit Daidrea on the head with the flat of his blade as hard as he could. As Daidrea fell, unconscious, Mesaraih realized he had not escaped unscathed. He had received a large cut on his leg, but worst of all, his chest had been cut in the same place where the wound had healed, except this time, blood started dripping from it and it didn't close up. Mesaraih tried to heal himself, but before he could do anything else, he fell to the floor as well. For a few seconds all was black, but he snapped into harsh consciousness almost at once. Paying little attention to his own injuries, he grabbed Daidrea and carried him out of the battle for the second time. This time however, he did not take him to Oromis's house. He laid him down next to a tree and tied him up, doubting it would hold, but he had to try. "Daidrea, if you come back, make sure your head is clear," Mesaraih said. "Next time you might kill me." With one last look back he hurried to the battle. He fought as hard as he could, but his attacks were not as ferocious. He had been severely weakened by Daidrea. He could be fighting with them right now, and be making a big difference.

OOC: Sorry if I godmodded a little.

Daidrea realized he could not move, it was blurry everywhere. The loss of blood was too much for him. He couldnt stay awake. As the minutes, hours dragged by. The Empires army faltered and began to retreat. However at the same time, Daidreas life was slipping away, with his wounds still unattened. He could feel he was not going to last much longer. His mind rushed memeories of the past. It flowed through him nonstop, constantly thinking about Elyrana.

Elyrana...Elyrana..
It is been some time Daidrea. Daidrea opened his eyes, and standing in front of him was his dragon, Elyrana. It..cant be. Elyrana? Daidrea was almost speechless, hardly believe what he was seeing. How..why are you here?
She looked at him with a sad face, Daidrea..why did you let yourself become this way? It was wrong of you to bring so much death just to avenge me. Daidrea looked down at the ground, tears fell from his eyes. I couldnt stand loosing you, you were the only one that didnt make me feel alone, you broght me so much happiness..I couldnt stand it when I lost you.
Elyrana remained silent for a moment. Finally she said, Even after I cut your connection, you pushed so hard on yourself. Daidrea, you can protect the ones you love by your strength alone, that you didnt realize has blinded you for so long. I can restore your connection, but do not use the anger and hate that you used to avenge my death, but use your determination, your courage and your connection with me as your strength. Do not forget Daidrea, I am always with you. She took flight and flew towards Daidrea, and she turned into a light that entered Daidrea.

He awoke, realizing where he was, he was tied to a tree. He noticed that all his wounds were gone and his strength was restored. His eyes glowed a luminous green. He could feel his connection with magic was restored. With a smile, he said to himself, Thank you Elyrana. And one last time he ran towards the remainder of the battle, hoping to save his conpanions.

Erais' strength was waning away fast. Daidrea and Mesaraih had fallen into their own combat against each other, frustrating Erais a little by it. "Stop fighting each other fools! Daidrea snap out of it!" She was angry right now and was taking it out on the people standing around here. After a while she had to throw full concentration into fighting. Erais had no idea what was going on with the other two, or where they are. All she knew was that she had to drive this insane enemy back where they came from.

She didn't notice Daidrea and Mesaraih gone as she continued to try and fight them back. Slowly, bit by bit, she was beginning to slow down. Erais had absolutely no warning as the sound of a sword swished through the air. The next thing she knew, there was a rather large sword gutting her. Her eyes went wide and she lost her grip on her sword. She had dodged every fatal wound until now. Trying to hold onto thought and figure out what had just happened, she felt angry. How dare they keep her from fighting them? With her bare hands she grabbed the sword hilt in her back and pulled it out, screaming in pain. Breathing heavily she didn't realize the enemy starting to retreat, knowing they lost.

Right now it was just her and this soldier. Anger burning through her and blood pouring from her wound, she found all her strength and plunged the soldiers own sword through his heart. "How dare you do that!" She hissed in his ear before he toppled over dead. As soon as he had fallen she looked down at her wound. She put her hand over her lower gut and felt the blood running through her fingers. Everything began spinning and she forgot how to function. "I'm...sorry..." She gasped before falling to the ground in pain, feeling her life slipping from her.

Mesaraih looked just in time to see Erais falling. "No!"he yelled. He jumped towards her and tried to protect her, knowing it was too late, not noticing that the battle was won and slaying everyone in his way. There was still a few stray soldiers here and there, not willing to give up the fight until they died. When he got to Erais, he was about to pick her up when one of these soldiers stabbed him in the back. "Coward," Mesaraih hissed, and with a yell of pain blasted all the enemies within a range of 50 feet into the air engulfed in flames. Feeling weak and alone, he carried Erais to the tree where he had taken Daidrea and barely noticed he was gone as he put Erais down. He healed as many of her wounds as he could, finally toppling to the floor himself, hoping his life would not be snuffed out in vain.

As Erais and Mesaraih were away, Daidrea was heading into what was the remains of the battle in full strength. He did many combinations of moves and use of magic to painlessly kill or render useless the remainder of the soldiers.
This feeling...I feel that you are with me, this feels amazing. The remain soldiers finally retreated unable to keep up with Daidreas swordplay and use of magic.
After the remainder of the Empires forces were gone, Daidrea went around looking for injured elves and healing them, he felt a little reluctant to return to his friends just yet.

Erais had no sense of what was happening, all she felt was a terrible pain somewhere near her stomach. There seemed to be slight ease for a few minutes, but the pain kept coming full force. After a few minutes it became to much and her voice came to her knowledge. She let out an ear splitting scream that rang through out the whole forest, traveling to the battle ground.

Her eyes snapped open for a moment and she felt the affects of blood loss. All she saw was red, her head began to swim and a new wave of pain flooded over her. She let out another scream, tears began streaming down her face. No thoughts came to mind, just the acknowledgement of the fatal stab wound. Erais couldn't move, blood kept pouring out, and her life was slipping through her fingers like water. She just wanted the pain to end right now, it felt like hell.

He put a hand on each of them and he trasnfer as much energy as he could into them and healing them. He felt dazed afterwards. He sat down to catch his breath.

The feeling of her life slipping away stopped, and as much as she could think about it, she guess that was good. Her wound had healed up, but the affects were lodged in her gut. She let out another scream, her eyes snapped open once again and all she saw was red in her eyes, except she saw the outline of someone very close. It looked a lot like Daidrea. Erais turned on her side and gasped for breath. The pain seized her once again and she let out another scream.

Everything else still seemed like a nightmare. Everything hurt and her head felt like splitting open. Her thoughts scattered quickly and she moaned in pain, clutching her stomach and head. Whatever it was, it caused her whole system to collapsed. Everything started to freak out, she wasn't sure if it was real or not.

After a few moments of pain, it vanished instantly. She slowly opened her eyes and took a shaky deep breath. Turning her head slightly she ached all over and could barely move. "You're still alive!" She said as excitedly as she could, meaning the both of them. After seeing all the wounds that all of them had received, she was a bit surprised to find all had survived the huge army that Galbatorix had sent. I'm just glad we all will live.

Mesaraih smiled a little, then groaned as his muscles hurt to do so. "As long as we won, I'm okay," Mesaraih said, relieved. Thinking back over all that had happened he realized that they had survived a lot. "I can't beleive that after all we've been through, we're still alive. So much has happened, I would have thought we should have died. But I'm glad we didn't."

Daidrea was happy to see them in a good mood and that they had won. Daidrea suddenly fell over. The amount of eneergy he used since the begining of the battle has caught up with him. He wasnt in pain like he usually was, just tired. He slept with a calm face.

Elyrana...thank you.

Erais felt tired and would have fussed over Daidrea falling over, but sleep quickly took her over as well. They had fought valiently and won, they would be safe here for quite a while since the Empire was weakened considerably. They had survived much more than Galbatorix would ever have to, or has. They had kept each other safe and sacrificed themselves for each other.

As she was drifting to sleep, the last thing she could remember thinking, I think I'll like having friends... Before her vain attempts to stay awake flew out the window and she slept right there on the hard ground. Content with knowing they had given the Empire a rather nasy bruise. They wouldn't be bothered for a while, that was something for sure.

Mesaraih felt like falling asleep too. He used a tree as a pillow and leaned back against it. The Empire had lost. This was only good proof that Galbatorix could be overthrown. I made some good friends, he thought as he drowsily fell asleep.

Post Re: Journey
After a few hours, Daidrea roused up himself. His head was spinning. He did sleep well but his head felt strange. He glanced around he saw that Erais and Mesaraih were still asleep.

He looked around to asess what happened. The Empire seemed to have retreated completely and the elves were still camped at the edge of the battle site. So..the battle is won..for now.

He looked back at the two of his companions. He made a small smile. He gathered some wood and made a fire, then he grabbed some food and returned again with also water. He set them down. He waited for one of them to awake.

I wonder what we will do now?

Post Re: Journey
Patches of sun fell across the ground and eventually found Erais' face. The light coaxed her out of her well needed sleep and she slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes gently. It took a moment for them to become focused and not blurry, but when they did and she saw Daidrea awake, she smiled. "Well it turns out that numbers really don't win a battle." It was nice to know that small fact.

More than anything she was satisfied that Galbatorix will know. After all, he had sent his largest inforcement which was barely anything now. Just a small hand full of scared and beaten up men. Erais stood up and walked over to where Daidrea had gathered some food and fresh water. She drank some of the water, but left the food untouched. "It's nice to know that you're still alive. Though you should've stayed with Oromis. You were in no condition to fight the last time I saw you." She said rather seriously and very sternly.

Daidrea stared at her with his luminous eyes. "I couldnt have left you two..I just couldn't. I was able to find the strength to come back. And with it I did what I could to make sure you were safe.

He became silent lost in thought. Although he was healed, Daidrea still had scars on him. He felt the one from the axe blow he took for Erais. His face became some what sad. He snapped himself out of it.

"How do you feel?"

"Well considering the fact that I'm completely whole and alive, rather well off actually. Though you need to find your self some common sense, otherwise next time you won't be as lucky; and you should also add better judgement to that list. Both are key for someones survival." Erais said a smile was obvious in her tone. She was definately glad to be alive at the moment, and not to have suffered any damage. Well at least not too much damage.

"How are you feeling? Since you obviously still need a reality check." Erais was in a strange mood, having a battle like that would surely do the trick.

Daidrea was hesitant to answer. "I dont know..I can use magic again without a negitive effect anymore but.., he trailed off.

He thought about his dark form. He knew that with his connection restored, "it's" power is fully returned. I just hope I can keep it under control now.

Daidrea realized Erais was looking at him with concern. He quickly said, "I'm fine."
At least I think..

Mesaraih woke up coughing. He felt a strange taste in his mouth and spit out some saliva. It was dark red. Then he coughed again and realized he was spitting blood out. He reached over to his back where he had been stabbed. Blood was starting to pour out "Aw man," he groaned. He slowly and painfully stood up. "I'll be right back," he said, looking around for a stream or any small body of water.

Erais frowned, but didn't push Daidrea. She fell silent and it was a bit awkward for a few moments. Erais turned her head and saw that Mesaraih had woke up, and he wasn't looking to good. "You okay?" She asked worriedly when she saw the small amount of blood on his hand. He didn't reply, but said he would be right back.

"We've won this battle, but I fear that it is only the beginning." Erais said quietly. Something was nagging her and she knew that some horrible things were instore for them all in the future. It was a terrible feeling and she knew she couldn't avoid it, but decided not to let it show. So she quickly stowed it deep down, waiting for some quiet to think about it.

Mesaraih slowly washed his wound by a small stream he had found. He was still coughing blood, and he didn't have the energy to heal it at the moment. He didn't feel as good as he thought he would from winning the battle. He felt that there was a lot more in store for them, but for the moment he didn't want to worry anyone, so he forgot it for the time being. He felt rather strange, and he wasn't very much in the mood for company, but he returned to his companions so they wouldn't get worried. He was still coughing blood, but he hoped to be able to hide it from them as he settled back into the tree where he had been resting quietly.
