There's a lot about Angela that we do not know about... that makes her fascinating.

The Varden probably found out who Murtagh was because he closed his mind to their testing. And I think I read somewhere that they look a lot a like.

I think Angela told this to Eragon when he was on his way to Du Weldenvarden not to the Varden. The events in which Murtagh had "disappeared" took place before this particular conversation took place.

Well if my guess that Angela discovered it in Selena's fortune and said something along the of "You will travel to your first son's residence to die." Selena may have gasped "Murtagh" like Eragon gasped "Roran" when Angela told him someone in his family will betray him.

ive been wondering about this too... i mean, even ajihad knew murtagh... and he knew very well murtagh's voice... after murtagh just said a few words... and ajihad, if im not mistaken, only met morzan once... plus it was supposed to be secret that morzan had a son... so how could they have known about that?

the only explanation i can come up with is that selena told brom, and brom told the varden. or else selena admitted to angela everything when she met the witch, and then angela told it to the varden. the only leak i can think of is selena... coz i doubt either morzan or galbatorix would have told the varden that... not unless murtagh's nanny was a member of the varden or something.

I think the only reason is the fact he's Morzan son and he has educated in Galbatorix court. Angela, Ajihad and everyone's concern was only caused to the danger to have in Fatrher dun a person so near to the enemy
