Nah, you make sense, also, how would these charries get into this land cause the dragons in HP world are almost mindless monsters, and personally I can't see Phalynx, or Shyara, or Luna, or many of the other charries here like that.

My opinion on this is that I think characters from our Eragon rpgs can't go to other lands and stuff. I think you should have to make a new character for these types of adventures.

Why don't you just add another character bio section for non-canon characters? That way they wouldn't get jumbled in with the canon characters.

I actually had planned for Danthuania to be somewhat more advanced than Alagaesia in terms of technology. From a historic perspective there have been certain civilizations that have been more advanced than others, like the ancient Egyptians and the Roman Empire. Now, while this wouldn't work in the canon RPs, it would be perfect for the non-canon rps! No, I'm not talking about airplanes or computers or anything like that. I was thinking something more along the lines of what we saw in the Avatar: The Last Airbender series. The Danthuanians don't use guns or anything but they do have certain technologies that you don't see in Alagaesia, like steam power. I thought that having to deal with these new things would be a unique challenge for our characters in a non-canon rp.


Eragon: Hey, wait, wait, wait! All you wizards, riders and dragons are going on epic adventures and leaving me to fight an evil tyrant king and his hordes of minions all by myself? I'm like... sixteen! What the heck guys?

Natagath: It's not OUR fault! We're not allowed to interfere with canon!

Eragon: Well, according to canon all you guys are dead! You know what? I'm gonna give this Paolini guy a piece of my mind and tell him to hurry up with the last book! I wanna get this stuff over with!

Lethira: So, according to the books all I have to do is slip some cyanide pills into Saphira's dragon chow and then the dragon race would be doomed to extinction?

Saphira: Don't count on it, shade!

Violeta: Yeah! cyanide doesn't work on dragons!

Saphira: Hey, who the heck are you?

Violeta: Me? I'm one of those female dragons that supposedly don't exist!

Maybe it could be like with Epic Adventures? Like they would have to fill out a new application for one of their characters? I think it might be effective.

However, redierection to Wac for any un-thoughtout RPs, we have an area for people who want to RP about fighting jello and stuff that makes no sense .

I like the idea though, a lot. It's for people of my style of RP- more freeform than strict and to-the-line.

An RP without a story would be pointless and get boring in a couple days. The new RP section should have the same rules as the others but just have a different setting.

Just to clarify, we would have the option to either rewrite a character's bio to fit the new RP section or just put them in as they are, right?
And could different worlds intersect?
AND can we mess with the Inheritance Cycle story (for instance making eragon die or putting the characters into a world where galby didn't take over and an alien race of gigantic termites are invading, intent on the destruction of Alagaisia)?

No that makes sense, Kit. The author should have to fill out a little form-thing in the first post, and then everyone who joins after that should just have to say how their charry fits into the new world in their first posts.

I guess I'll have to get on creating a form-thing lol.

Some thoughts::

How will this relate to the 'Other Adventures' section? Will it be replacing it?

So as I understand it, this is a section for RP'ers who have previously accepted characters to participate in a sort of sandbox mode, with each story's setting and character tweaks being determined by the first posts?

Another question... should access to this section be limited in some manner beyond having a character? I know this has been mentioned, just throwing that out there again. :] Moderator approval, post count, thread count, etc.

This is definitely something I would love to do, when my life calms down a bit. =]

I can hardly wait because I just got this really crazy idea. What if your RP characters had to travel on the Oregon Trail? They've somehow been transported to Independence, Missouri in 1848, have lost their magic abilities and somehow traveling to Oregon will give them back their powers.

Natagath: Yeah, but why would I waste my time spending months on the trail and traveling across the continent in a covered wagon if I could just fly there in a couple days with Violeta?

Me: Because you won't have your dragon! Only humans, elves, dwarves, and other humanoids will be allowed! Muhahahaha!
