Mr. Wonderful
Well, I dont know how many of you like Naruto Fan Fic. but I decided to write this because I had way to much time on my hands and Deidara is one of my favorite characters from the show. Anyways, if you don't like something or on the contrary, you do actually like it please tell me! I'd love some constructive critisism. I don't really know if I like it and I'd love other peoples opinions. But I must warm you, if you dont like Naruto or anything like that then you probably wouldn't want to read it. It's a short story, so tell me if you think it's to long or anything like that. Ok, now that I'm done rambling, on to the story!
“Deidara!” I yelled angrily as I ran down the halls of the Akatsuki HQ in my pajamas, trying to find the blonde who had done this to me. I ran out into the living room and saw him sitting on the back of the couch talking with Kisame and Sasori. I crept up behind him, looking over to Kisame and Sasori bringing my pointer finger to my lips. Sasori smirked as I crept closer and lunged forward, tackling him to the floor.
“Who the- oh, good morning, Asami, yeah.” Deidara smirked, knowing why I was now on top of him, straddling his waist.
“You did this, didn’t you?” I questioned him heatedly as I pointed to my hair that was soaked in honey. He couldn’t help but smirk as he looked at my now sticky, knotted locks.
“Of course not, where would you get that idea, un?”
“Hm, well I don’t know. Maybe because you’re the only member in this organization who loves to irk me?” I said as I stared at him, the honey now dripping from my long, black strands of hair onto his face.
“Oh come on Asami-chan, you don’t really think I did this do you, yeah?” He questioned, trying to look innocent. I bent down next to his ear and let my warm breath dance over his skin.
“I don’t think you did it, I know you did it, Deidara-senpai.” I whispered in a low voice. Deidara went rigid underneath my body as I lifted my head up just enough to roughly lick some of the honey off of his cheek, which turned red instantly. I sat up all the way and started chuckling as I got off him, holding out my hand to help him up. He took it and stood, a smirk still on his face. He was so easy to tease.
“You shouldn’t do that Asami, it’s not very nice. Not to mention gross, now I’m going to have to take a shower, un!” He exclaimed dramatically.
“I was going to say something about that but I thought I’d be nice for once. You know, showering everyday is something you should try more often.”
Kisame and Sasori started laughing in the background and Deidara glared at them.
“Hmph, you don’t have much to laugh about Kisame.” He said smugly. Kisame stopped laughing instantly and mumbled as he went back to watching the TV placed against the wall.
“Well, I’m going to go hop in the shower so I can get this mess cleaned.” I announced in reference to the sugary grossness that covered my head.
“Not if I get there first, yeah!” Yelled Deidara as he ran past me, almost knocking me down in the process. I smirked as I ran after him, catching up, shoulder to shoulder with him. Out of no where I felt his shoulder against mine in a hard bump, sending me into the wall. I crashed into the wall and fell to the floor, watching him run down the rest of the hallway, laughing to himself. He disappeared into the bathroom only another 10 feet down the hall. I sighed as I stood and started walking back to the living room to join Sasori and Kisame, when an idea struck me. I grinned evilly as I walked back into the living room, sitting myself on the floor next to the chair Sasori had seated himself in.
“Sori-kun?” I inquired of him, using the nickname I had given him minutes after I had first met him.
“Yes Ami-san?” He answered in his monotone voice, looking down at me. Ami was the nickname he had given me in turn.
“I have an idea on how to exact revenge on Deidara, would you care to help?”
“Of course.” He answered, a smile now appearing on his features.
Only minutes later I was sitting in the living room with Kisame and Itachi, when he got there I have no clue, he just kind of appeared. Sasori had left minutes ago and I was still waiting. As we sat and watched some random show on the TV that none of us were really paying attention to, a loud girlish scream emanated throughout the building. I burst out in a loud laughter, causing Kisame to give me an odd look.
“Just wait, give it a minute.” I said, trying to suppress my laughter.
“What did you do this time?” He asked amused.
“Oh, nothing much; just taking revenge against a certain blonde.” I answered smiling.
When I first came to the Akatsuki, seeking a hiding place from the Rain nin that had been sent after me, Deidara and I’s friendship was off to a rocky start. We were constantly bickering and fighting with each other. Until Pein, my countries new appointed leader and as I found out leader also of the Akatsuki, told me that if I didn’t stop our constant fighting he would send me back to my home country. And that, my friend, was enough of a threat for me. My country was on the brink of war when I had run away from my home village. Ever since then Deidara and I play harmless pranks on each other to suffice for our fighting, which by the way was not always verbal. There was once we took down half of an entire forest. The poor trees and little woodland creatures never saw it coming. Most of it is just for a laugh but occasionally he has gone to far, like now, and he was going to pay! It was a good thing I had most of the men here on my side and would usually help me get back at him. Now was one of those times.
Kisame shook his head, rolling his eyes. Itachi glanced at me through his peripheral vision, “You two act like children.” He said in his cold, deep voice. I was kind of surprised that he said something but paid no mind as I heard footsteps coming down the corridor. Seconds later, Deidara stood in front of me, towel around his waist and another wrapped around his head. Kisame sweat dropped and stood to walk into the kitchen. Itachi was already gone.
“I think I’ll get something to eat.” He mumbled as I watched him leave.
“Nice attire.” I snickered once I turned back to Deidara, looking him up and down, trying to hold my laughter in. He glared at me as he stood in front of me still dripping wet.
“You turned the hot water off while I was in the shower and took my clothes, un! What am I suppose to wear now, yeah?” He demanded, still glaring.
“Well, I have a nighty that you could borrow. It might be to small for you but you never know, I could be wrong.” I teased, letting my laughter echo throughout the room. Deidara stared daggers and was about to come at me when Sasori walked in.
“Deidara, put some clothes on, your being indecent.” He said in his monotone voice.
“Asami took my clothes, yeah!” He accused, pointing his finger at me.
“I did not! You just misplaced them is all.” I defended myself, looking as innocent as I possibly could. Sasori looked at me and then at Deidara, shaking his head. A lot of people seemed to be doing that lately.
“Asami, help Deidara find his ‘misplaced’ clothing. I prefer looking at Deidara decently dressed.” Sasori ordered as he sat back down in the chair he was in before.
I pouted before getting up and pushing Deidara back so he wasn’t so close.
I sighed, “Fine.”
I walked down the hall, not bothering to see if he was following, to my temporary room. I opened the door and didn’t hesitate to start rummaging through wherever I thought Sasori would hide his clothing. After a few minutes of stumbling, muttering a few curses after hitting my head on an inanimate object, and throwing things around I saw the clothes hiding under my bed.
“Of course I don’t look in an obvious place, I look everywhere else but here.” I mumbled as I reached for and grabbed the obnoxious man’s attire.
“Found them!” I announced loudly while turning around to face my door, seeing I hadn’t needed to. There he stood in all his glory, Mr. Wonderful himself. God, I love sarcasm.
“Here you go.” I muttered as I threw his apparel at his chest, walking past him.
“Thank you Asami-san.” He called after me mockingly.
I could hear his snickering as I walked back down the hall to the bathroom, my own clothes in hand, so I could take a shower. I walked into the bathroom shutting the door behind me, making sure it was locked. After undressing I hopped in the hot shower only taking ten minutes to finish up. I walked out of the bathroom, squeaky clean and ready to make breakfast. I knew Kisame couldn’t cook anything if his life depended on it, along with everyone else, with the exception of Konan but she wasn’t around much. She usually stayed out on missions with Pein. I walked into the spacious kitchen and stared at the counter tops and cupboards wondering what to make. After I decided I got busy, only taking an hour to finish everything. I set the table quickly and called out into the living room and down the hall, filled with doors that lead to the members bedrooms, that breakfast was ready.
I had made hot tea, some sushi that was left over from a previous night, rice balls, and fish wraps. Sasori and Kisame were the first to come in, followed by Itachi, Hidan, Kakuzu and Deidara. The plan was, after breakfast Kakuzu was going off on one of his bounty hunts and Hidan was planning on doing something else in his absence. I didn’t dare ask what, last time I did I regretted it. Kisame and Itachi were off to find one of the Bijuu, I’m pretty sure Kisame told me it was Yonbi. As for Sasori and Deidara, they had just got back from a mission that had them busy for almost two weeks, so they had a couple days off.
I sat down in between Hidan and Itachi, took what I wanted and began eating. Light conversation carried on over the table, most of it being between Kisame and Kakuzu. While chewing one of the rice balls, I looked up from my plate to find a pair of ocean blue eyes looking at me. They were quickly diverted away when I stared back. I shrugged it off, looking down at my plate again, shoving a piece of sushi in my mouth. Not paying attention to the conversations around me I drifted off into a daydream, only to be shook out of it when I heard my name.
“So, Asami, what do you plan on doing for the day?” Hidan asked politely as he turned his head to look at me, pieces of his silver hair falling in front of his eyes.
“Well, I was planning on cleaning up here and maybe trying to find a permanent home this afternoon. I was thinking I could look in Stone country or maybe even Konoha. Somewhere far away from the Rain country where I could live secretly.”
Hidan nodded, knowing that I wasn’t going to stay. I wasn’t ‘evil’ enough for this organization anyways. The men here were S ranked criminals, I was just a high skilled Jounin who had a pretty bad, shall we call it, ‘accident’?
“I hope you find what your looking for.” He said with a slight smile. I smiled back, suddenly getting the feeling of being watched again.
“So do I.”
I looked back in the direction of Deidara to see him looking at me out of the corners of his eyes. He was probably planning something. That didn’t matter though. Today I was finally getting out of the compound to breath some fresh air. Sasori abruptly rose from his place and looked directly at me.
“Ami, come with me.”
I nodded and rose also, a certain someone watching us as we left. Just before we were out of site I turned my head around quickly, sticking my tongue out at the stone nin. I saw him smirk and stick his tongue out also before the wall came between us. A tiny smile pulled at the corners of my mouth as I followed the red head in front of me. Sasori lead me outside the compound into the forest that surrounded the HQ. As we walked Sasori’s voice filled the empty air around us.
“When do you plan on leaving?”
“Probably late this afternoon. I’ll find a place to stay somewhere along the way if it’s to late to come back.” I answered.
“How long do you think you’ll be gone?”
“I hadn’t really thought about it; a day or two I’m guessing. You and Dei-kun will be fine without me, there’s plenty of food in the cupboards.” I laughed, thinking that’s why he sounded worried.
“That’s not why I asked.”
We had stopped and were now sitting on the gigantic roots of a tree that had toppled over in the forest.
“Oh, well then why di-.” But I was cut off by someone launching themselves at me from behind, sending me flying to the ground. Now straddling my waist was the same man I had attacked earlier this morning.
“Deidara, what are you doing?” I asked looking up into his face, seeing his wide grin. He had my arms pinned above my head and was dead weight on my hips, preventing me from sitting up.
“Making the score even, yeah.” He grinned evilly but was surprised when my body disappeared under his. I had used a shadow clone and watched from one of the large trees near us. I started to laugh at the dumbstruck look on his face, when he heard me and jumped up after me. I gave chase through the trees, laughing all the while he was trying to keep up. He was fast, I’d give him that but he’d never be able to catch me. After an hour of running through the trees, trying to confuse him using more shadow clones I came across a clearing. It was a large meadow with a stream running through it, populated with wildflowers. I walked into the clearing and looked around me. I had never seen this place before, I didn’t even know it was near by! As I stood, Deidara watched from one of the trees encircling the meadow. He smiled and saw this as his chance. He jumped from the tree and tackled me again, this time sending us tumbling down a small hill that lead down to the stream. I landed on top of him, so much for his plan working.
“Nice try Dei-kun.” I said giggling, moving the hair that had fallen in his face away so I could see him better. He smiled up at me, “At least I got you, un.” I continued to giggle as I started to remove my body from his but something stopped me. I looked down and Deidara was still smiling.
“Okay Deidara, you win.” I acknowledged my defeat. Before I realized what was happening I was on my back and Deidara was hovering over me. What was he doing? He’d won, why was he still on me?
“What was that Asami-chan, I don’t think I heard you, yeah?” He asked teasingly.
“I said you win!” I yelled, laughing again.
“What, what was that, un?” He asked again, his head slowly coming towards mine.
I lifted my head up and whispered in his ear, “You win.”
“That’s what I thought, It’s just nice to hear you admit it, yeah!” He smiled cheekily.
I rolled my eyes as I looked at him, now realizing how close we were. He must have realized it to because his face kept inching closer to mine. Silence ensued as we stared into each others eyes.
“A-Asami-chan, are you really going to leave, un?” He whispered in a low voice after a while, our noses now barely touching.
“I have to; I can’t stay here.” I whispered back, now suddenly wishing that I could stay.
“Please, Asami . . . . . I . . . . . . . don’t want you to leave, yeah.” He confessed as he brought the back of his hand to my face, gently rubbing the skin on my cheek as he continued to stare into my light purple orbs. I smiled sweetly and did something that neither of us were expecting. I closed the distance between us, pressing my lips softly against his. He immediately kissed back, pressing harder against my lips in a rougher yet affectionate kiss.
I couldn’t believe what was happening. I was kissing Deidara, the man that annoyed the heck out of me, the one I swore revenge on almost every day, the man that put honey in my hair, T P’d my room with toilet paper, replaced my lotion with syrup, almost got me in a fight with Itachi, replaced my shampoo with dish soap, hid three of his exploding birds under my bed making them blow up in the middle of the night and the man . . . . . . . . . . . who had apparently stolen my heart in the process. I didn’t understand how but at the moment, with his lips passionately caressing mine, I didn’t really care. All that mattered to me now was him. He broke away quickly for a moment, staring me directly in the eyes.
“I love you Asami, and I’m not going to let you go, un.” He muttered to me holding me closer, blue eyes shining. I couldn’t help but beam happily at him as I answered back.
“I love you to Deidara and you won’t have to let me go, I promise.”
Little did I know Kisame, Sasori and Hidan were hiding in one of the tall pine trees, watching us.
“You owe me fifty bucks, Hidan.” Kisame reveled in his win as he looked over at the silver haired man with a smirk. Hidan rolled his eyes and reached into his cloak pulling out his money purse. He took out the needed amount and handed it over grudgingly to the fish man.
“And you owe me seventy, Kisame.” Sasori reminded him, enjoying the look of irritation on his face as he gave him the seventy that he owed.
“Three months. Jeeze, you think they would have realized before that.” Kisame commented as he looked down at Deidara and I.
“This is Deidara, Kisame, when has anything with Deidara been what we’ve expected?” Hidan questioned, watching us also. Kisame let a small smile form on his lips.
“Yeah I guess your right, you never know what to expect from that blonde, obnoxious bonehead.”
“Asami is the same way, she’s very –” But Sasori was cut off by loud yelling coming from below them.
“Deidara, I swear I’m going to kill you!” Was heard, the words coming from my lips after he had set of one of his bird bombs beside me, scaring the stuffing out of me.
The three men started laughing as they watched me run after Deidara through the field, throwing kunai at him. Deidara giggled, looking back at me as he ran, blowing me a kiss.
“Art is a bang, yeah!”
Again, if theres anything in this you dont like please tell me!
