To Love The Other

I think about you and realize who knew
Who knew that you would be the perfect one?

The one to rise above the rest to steal my heart
away from its holding place

To care and to hold to treasure and to mold a new
type of belonging in my soul

To break away the confidence I thought I knew of
my holding place

To dance with joy as I see your face, to stare
into your eyes

Be my resting place.

My heart has longed for this place to belong, for
your arms to hold and your eyes to rest.

My search to seize, I cry on my knees, for I think
I have finally found my true home

A place where pastures of green and beauty lie,
where your love permeates the fear of my past
failures

Your smile renews my soul with confidence that has
long been lost.

And for that I love you with unconditional love.

I give you my heart to love and to hold, to
nurture my strengths and to endure my weaknesses.

For I once was a rose as it is in the dirt, run
down with thorns of rejection and regret.

I am only “one, but I am one. I cannot do
everything, but i can do something and that which
i can do, by the grace of God, I will do.”

These hands are mine...

anger at the innocence
spilt by his hands
to cut them off would be a blessing
while stuck in deadly lands...

"My hands, my hands,
these arent my hands.
They dont belong to me.
These hands kill when told to kill,
be him friend, or enemy.

These hands belong to someone else.
yes, to some mad man!
One who lives to killl the child,
who saw these hands and ran."

But still they are upon his wrist,
and horrid though they are,
he cannot say they arent the hands
that helped indulge the war.

i have several poems that i wrote recently, here's a few of them.

From Green to Gray
Tears run down her cheek
shinning silver
like moonlight.
Trailing down, they fall
like sighs into the ground,
where they gather in drops.
And as pearly dew upon the grass
they gleam like tiny dimonds.
And as she cries,
her sobbs reflect the rain
which falls gently around her.
And in the mix her tears and rain become one.
For she cries with Nature, her mother,
in anguish at the fate of the world.
For it is doomed to die
as the gong sounds out like thunder.
Echoing into a now mechanical world,
which is devoid of green,
and is naught but stolid gray.

my next one is shorter, and it talks about War.

Children of War
A soldier stood silent
and, with burning eyes,
peered out at the carnage
before screaming "WHY?!"
The sight of the innocent,
needlessly dead,
children of war,
all splattered with red,
brought anguished regret.
And choking back tears,
he thought of the families
of those lieing here.
How many had died
by the guns of a war,
that meant nothing to them
but terror and gore?
"These people did nothing,
so paid with their life!
No wonder they hate us,
we caused all this strife!"

Ill never cry for you,
throw stones and beat me if you will,

INsult me and degrade me,
You'll never make me cry.
Smash my dreams and drown my hope,
but ill never spill a tear for you.
Treat me like a slave, WHIP ME!
my eyes will stay as dry as the desert.
Steal my heart, then rip it up,
my eyes wont even water.
Do it all and so much more,
But ill be damned to Hell and dead,
Before a tear,
you'll see me shed.
Ill NEVER cry for you!

Cliche
Its valentines day
A day full of romance nd love
So lets live up to the cliche
Lets get out there
And spend every penny we got
Spend nd get nowhere
Lets express our feelings
Dat sumhow come out on this day
When on other days, we're sleeping
Lets buy 5dozen of flowers
Buy expensive diamond rings n chocolate
Lets stand on this line for hours
Wat do we get at the end of the day
A hug, kiss, or sex?
Y do we express how we feel on this day?
If u luv sum1 then say it everyday
Dont wait for this day to come
Say how u luv them in every way
Gifts r the easiest thing to get

that's pretty good. i don't have any poems right now.

uh. im so SICK of valentines day. it disgusts me. its little more than a self declared holiday to make couples feel glorified and singles feel like outcasts. its WAY over played. but thats just me. sorry if i come across as cynical or cold. its just how i am sometimes.

heres a poem...

That which does not kill me
makes me stronger.
but the time it takes to heal
each time gets longer.
with angry burns my skin is marred,
what did not kill me

A poem I wrote about the troops that defend my freedom....

"They fight on"
From the day of enlistment they fight
Through obstacle courses with sergeants at their side
Through live fire exercises with bullets fired above them
Through gradation as they are accepted as a United States solder
From the day of deployment they fight
As they say good bye to loved ones they through the tears and love
As they watch their country from far in the sky they
As they see the wounded loaded on
As they receive their first mission
From the second the bullets fly they fight
With deafening explosions happening all around
With the threat of death
With wounds all over and endless enemies
With the last breath of a fallen comrade
With the ultimate sacrifice for those they love
They Fight On

For buzz in greatest sympathy, because the world has made you unable to let go of anything it did to you...

WHAT IS IT LIKE?
What is it like,
i wonder,
to stand alone out of choice?
to beat the hand that offers you help?
what is it like,
to wish someone dead?
what is it like,
to ignore the truth in favor of denial?

what is it like,
i wonder,
to be filled with constant hate?
to look with perpetual cynisism?
what is it like,
to harbor endles grudges?
what is it like,
to have anger be your most used emotion?

what is it like,
i wonder,
to be unable to let go of past wrongs?
to gain pleasure from other peoples pain?
what is it like,
to believe in nothing?
not God, government, or your self?
what is it like,
to feel all that at once?

I pity that person.

i dont mean to be rude, but thats a very sloppy poem. you dont need to make every line rhyme with another. it makes it seem choppy and childish. try makeing every third line rhyme. A-b-a

it was a good idea, it just needs to be refined a bit. there is a difference between style and 1st draft. im just giving him the same reply any editor or english teacher would. better to hear it from someone with experience in making all the big mistakes in poetry now, than to hear it in harsher terms from an editor.

Its beautiful. i love it. what style or rhyming pattern did you use for it? free style?

here's a poem i wrote today.

The Sun chases Shadow
from a lake of startling blue,
to play among the deep green boughs
of forests that 'round the lake do grow.

But tired, Sun glows red
and begins to seek the ground,
and Shadow grows in Light's absence
to watch the Sun turn the lake crimson.

Shadow's friend Sun now sleeps,
and soft night is made to wake.
Moonlight shimmers on the water
and comes to be with night swelled Shadow.

Until the break of day
Moonlight dances with Shadow,
But when Sun begins the morning
Shadow will leave to play games with Sun.

Boring poem i did for school

come run with me,
hand in hand,
to the sweet world Ireland,
where soft hills an acheing green,
sparkle with a hidden stream.
The moonlight falls like liquid pearls,
and we two swim thorugh milky swirls,
laughing loudly with delight,
we watch the faery wings take flight.\

i dont really write how i feel. its more like i take the ordinary things and put it to words, and add in a little of me. each poem is like a bit of my soul. there is good and bad, light and dark, beauty and uglyness. anger, and peace. kinda like with my art, but writing is easier than drawing sometimes. less aggravating when you dont know how to do something. like when i draw, i come up against a wall when i dont know how to draw something, and it can take months to figure it out. where as writing it out can only take weeks. lol.


Everything is real, that will never change. What WIILL change is what we choose to percieve as real.

I wrote this when i felt depressed yesterday

Poems From the Soul...

Angel with the broken wings
sitting on the ground,
halo softly fadeing 'way
you cant make a sound.

I see how you watch the sky,
the image breaks my heart,
for i as well long to fly,
and it's too late to start.

So angel i will sit with you,
and then we two shall cry
over what's denied us both:
great wings to soar up high.

i guess im on a religious kick. next thing i know ill be writeing childrens prayers! heh heh

Theres an angel softly singing

calling me to God
as im sleeping in my bed

and angel i can hear you
so i will hum along

The Sun shall rise,
painted red by my mind,
from the ash of my soul.

Like a phoenix on the wind
bringing light to the shadows
of the cold darkened moon

where i wait in the black
talking to the stars
for a hundered empty years.

It will burn away the hate
and will melt away the cold
until i am but ashes in ashes.

And from the ashes
I am born again,
purified by the Sun.

Time, what a prcious gift
we all wish we had more of.
More time to do things
or say things....
It's scarey to think that
we all have a set amount of time
in wich we must live our lives.
Sometimes we only have moments.
It's hard to stand the sight of the effects of
Time
on those we love.
It's like watching an hour glass that's slowly
running out of sand.
And as much as we'd like to,
we can't pick it up and turn it over again.
And when the last grain has drained,
Time's up.

No second chances at Life.
We all wish we had more Time
when the clock stops ticking,
but you dont always get what
you wish for...

On the dark side of the moon
I am screaming for release
from this nightmare of mine.
Sitting in a crater
my voice is running out,
soon my bloody throat
will go mute.
Please, God, come and save me.
Silence my screams
and shut my open mouth.
Wipe the tears from my eyes
as you pull me to my feet.
Catch me when i stumble
on legs clumsy from disuse.

IM sick of waiting

I am sick of waiting for the good times
That will never come on their own,
And sick of waiting for the mistakes I made
To correct themselves.
I’m sick of waiting for love to fall into my lap
Like a fairy tale dream come true.
I’m SO sick of waiting for people to prove worthy of trust
That I can’t give them anyway.
And I am SICK of waiting for my problems
To work themselves out,
Especially when I know they won’t.
God I’m sick and tired of waiting
For everything to just come to me.
I’ve BEEN waiting since I knew
How to think and remember what I thought.
But now I’m DONE.

I'll be honest, I don't get it at all. The first two lines of the verse make some sense to me, but then the next two knock me for a loop, so I end up

There was a cat
He wasn't very nice
Chewing on a mat
And full of lice

The cat ran away
Into the trees
And there he lay
Until the attack of bees

The cat ran far
Away from the pest
He reached a car
And he liked it best

So there he sat
As still as a tree
And you may ask "Who is this cat?"
And I'll say "It's me!"

Yep, that's terrible!

Nature’s Magic

Silver brooks whisper of forgotten dreams
As they run through forest and vale,
Moonlight sends down mild beams,
To listen to their varied tale.

The nightingale sings sweet songs,
So fireflies may dance,
And in this time dies all past wrongs,
So peace will have its chance.

The Wind will stir and add his touch,
And trees will sway along,
Adding in their grace and such,
While wishing Night more long.

In this gentle world we'll sleep,
‘Till morning doves do wake
While praying that the magic keeps,
So we may see it as Dawn breaks.

For Once

For once, I look
And I see you there.
Not meaning to,
I catch your stare.

I’ve always thought
Of things to say,
But every time I try
I end up turning away.

I watch you now
And you smile at me.
It’s so beautiful
How much happier can I be?

You walk towards me
And we speak
The first question you ask:
How was your week?

I never know
How to react,
Yet still I do.
I try to stick to facts.

You ask if maybe
I want coffee.
I’m stunned and intrigued;
Why do you do this to me?

I hug you before I leave and
Your heart beats like a song,
In the middle of the night.
And it beats on and on.

And I wonder why
I can’t control my emotions
When I'm around you.
It’s like falling in oceans.

Surrounded by thoughts.
Drowning in feeling.
I can’t keep control of my heart.
My mind keeps rushing and reeling.

And for once
I listen to everything you say;
I listen to all of your jokes.
For once I didn’t stay away.
