who all plays this game? Although I don't agree in rebuying the game every month in fees for play because of there active server updates and add ons lol. It still is a blast to play.

Get the prepaid cards. In Canada there like 30 to 40 depending where you get them. It gives you 60 days, that's like two months.

Why are you guys such low levels? LoL, its so strange, everyone my age of younger hasnt gotten past lvl 40. lvl60 undead mage Pyroblast owns...my lvl 41 hunter can dish out a good 1000 with aimed shot. Have you guys tried PvPing in Arathi Basin or Warsong Glutch?

I don't play it though if i had the $ id play EQ and WOW all day along with GW(like 45-60$ a month ) but since that isnt gona work out I just play GW.

I agree with some of you, WoW is way too expensive!!! i mean, $80 for the game, then $30 per month!!! i'd rather play a crappy game like runescape (no offence) then fork out so much money!!!!

I've played wow for years.
My main and only charactor is a level 70 epicced tauren enhancement shaman. The last thing I did was down Kil'Jaeden before the last expansion came out. the in game cut scenes always make me giggle, they are so cheesy. After you kill the guy and watch the small cut scene, the sunwell lights up and there your raid is standing in a bright beam of sunlight, you can't see jack (I mean seriously, who thought that up). They did nerf all of the raids with the last patch before the xpac.

Shamans are definatly not the best choice for a new player, but its what I play. His name is Ravtehcow on the server Frostmane, but you can't armory him just yet, my account is frozen until I buy another prepaid card, I've taken a break from the game. It doesn't show anything about him, just acknowledges he exists.
The game is alot of work, Blizzard tries their hardest to make the grinds long and hard.

I've also played several other mmo's, such as shadowbane (I loved this game), dark age of camelot(was fun in its time), and eve(say bye bye to your real life).
I've tried the trials of eq and eq2.

I didn't really like eq, eq2 seemed fun, but I decided not to buy it.

Dark Age of Camelot was wow before there was wow, it had many features I missed though like the ability to paint your armor and weapons, and buy armor for your mounts. I had a level 50 Master Soilder(pvp rank) Elf Eldrich(type of mage) who wore dark royal green and wielded a large green champion staff as well as a sword and shield (champion ability). I played that eldy for 3 years at least. The game is pretty dead right now as most have moved on to newer games.

Shadowbane is an entirely different animal from the rest. Most other mmo's are "theme park" types. The path is laid before you and you pay a monthly fee to do what the devs wanted you to do. Shadowbane is a sandbox type, you do whatever you want to do. The players built the cities and decided the outcome of the game world. You would have massive nation versus nation battles were the outcomes were as real as it could get. The loser would often lose his city, and with it his nation. You could literally wipe an enemy from the map by force or strategy. If you was in a position of leadership, you would often have to plot battles to take mines and areas for resources to pay for your cities and to upgrade them. You literally laid out a city grid and choose where every building would go. As you could imagine, just like in reality a super power would form and after a while it would swallow the entire server, so they would reset the servers every year or so. Sb was my first mmo.

Eve is like a limited futuristic space based verion of shadowbane that takes more time to play and has a better economic system. You could do anything you wanted to just like in shadowbane, the problems I had though was that it would literally take you all day to travel accross the eve universe, and none of it was empty. I become the victem of pirates (actual players) several times on my trade routes. I did train some skills to pilot a battle ship; however, my main areas of expertise were trade, manufaturing, and mining. I played Caladari and I would equipt my ravens to be missile shield tanks. I made alot of money selling various battleships. But like I said, the game was very time consuming. Player corporations would wage wars that lasted years. Some corporations have been at war since the beginning of the game.

As you can see, I'm very addicted to gaming, but lately I've taken a break so I could get through the last half of this college semester easily. The last thing I need is to be missing assignments because of some raid in wow that started at 8pm and ended at 3am (not an exagerration).

I know theres already a WoW topic, but its old and this would mostly focus on the expansion.

Ok for starters my main character is Joren, human warrior, currently 75. The guild I was in before the expansion did a crap load of raiding. I was all the way along till Black Temple. Sunwell was just ridiculous.

Anyways, expansion is awesome, love what they have done so far. I would be lvl 80 by now but I slowed down playing during the week.
Although I did do the Beta so I did get to see some of the raids. Mostly Naxxramas and Obsidian Sanctum. Alot of fun, but if you ask me Naxx is WAY too big. Longest run I ever done was in that place, over seven hours. But it was so fun I barely noticed the time go by.

Death Knights are cool, but they are not that fun to play until about lvl 80 or so..
Anyways Im psyched for this and cant wait for the release of Icecrown Citidel. I really hope they did well with the Lich King for a final boss fight. It would be kinda lame for him to become just another "farm" boss like Illidan did.

And, yes, the 15 a month is horrible, I will not disagree there.. doesn't mean I won't play the game.
