yea- i can tell from picturea nd the previews theres things wrong with it:

Saphira has scaled feathers even though i dont remember those in the book

Theres more then one dragon thats shows up and fights her

She breathes fire before the end evidently...

i can tell u pretty much everything thats wrong with it


the ruby in zar'roc is a saphire

brom kills one of the ra'zac

the ra'zac look like half mummies half african bush men

durza has a huge shadowy flying thingy

galby is in the movie

u find out that arya is the princess

saphira breathes fire

some characters are left out

people just look different than in the book

i'm seeing the movie on the dayit comes out! it may not follow the real storyline but its still good looking espicily arya killing urgals.

I'm going to see it with my parents and a couple friends the day it comes out.

This is a movie based off of the book Eragon. Its not the book made into a movie. It's just loosely based from the book, I have already read the book and I don't want to just see it in movie form. I like the changes and I am just glad that FOX has even made it.

I think if they are going to call a movie the same name as the book it should be more than just "based" on the book. Otherwise, why not just have a totally new story with characters from the book?

Coz wiv saphira wen she grows up its strange. they dnt do her slowly growing they just cover her in flame or something and then wen u see her again she is fully grown or something along those lines. Sometimes the books seems better but sometimes the movie does. its a confsing thing reli. but i rekon it looks great!!

So far, we have about 20+ people in our group planning to go see it on opening day. We can get our tickets in advance on Monday 12-11-06!!
I am interested to see the changes. Some of them are very annoying, while others are necessary. I understand that you can't make the movie exactly like the book, otherwise the movie would last 16 -24 hours!! So things like Saphira growing so rapidly have to happen in order to shorten the book into a movie time frame. Other things though, should not be changed, because they affect the originality of the book. Such as Arya's personality, the way Saphira gets her name, and the amount of times she blows fire. These things were of significance in the book and would not have affected the time frame for the movie!!

I would respond thos this but i do not understand because you say it should not have changed and it would affect the movie but in the end you say it didnt affect the movie

What I was trying to say is that those things were important in the book, and should have been left in the movie, and if they would have left those things in the movie, it would not have made the length of the movie any longer.
And now that I have seen the movie, it should have been made longer!!!!

the reason why they changed so much is cos it had to be so short and they had to compact it

but still- it was only an hour long! LOTR movies were like two hours! but one thong that pisses me off is she has feathers and SHE gave her name- Eragon didn't

they really screwed up the movie. it was really short and they left tons of stuff out. it made my kind of mad

dude- they had to take some stuff out but i must half agree- they took out LONG sections in some parts...

i saw it on the first day and i think they changed it to much, but i liked what saphira did when brom dies
especially annoyed the changes of places and orik not being in it or hrothgar
and the lack of detail during the time eragons at tronjiham and the saphire star wasnt featured

my thoughts exactlly...- they had her breath fire too soona nd there was no jewels in the city AT ALL

i like Saphira's eyes and voice though

caterpillar! It's was worse than very bad! I hate this movie they change everything and they change it bad. Most of all i love "battle" in cave. Wait! There wasn't any cave not even a battle (just some poor fight). Ok than i like killing Durza and crushing crystal...oh my! There was no crystal! Hmm what was it all about? A miss plot!

I'm really sick of people screaming at them for missing out things. You make a better movie then! Ok, they missed out a lot, but it would have lasted for about 5 hours to follow the book! I'm so tired of people going to it, and sitting there, criticising everything they did different from the book! If people hadn't read the book before hand, it makes it a great film! I watched it by forgetting about the book, forgetting what they missed out, and enjoying the film as though I didn't know what should have happened!

People just need to apprecate the Movie ITSELF because it gave us a look what it would be like. Since we see how the chars are- in out heads those parts are put in the movie therefore making our own movie we can watch as we READ THE BOOK.

When somebody is making movie based on such a famous books as Eragon is, I'm expecting keeping basical facts (as heroes atd.... Why is there Angela and Orik dissapeard?). Look at LOTR trilogi-I'm fan in these stuff too and I loved movies! Eragon seems to me like they didn't have enough money so they made battles boring, short and smalls.

peeple stop comparing the movie to the book!!! cp played no part in the making so of course it wouldnt be the same and also the way we picture people is gonna be different becoz of our different views!! the movie is gd not compared to the book and if it were any longer people would find it maybe boring. its like the way they did black beauty if u see the newer version they miss out about 5 homes he goes to to speed it up and keep people interested!!! the movie was gd becoz it keep to the POINT and not to the STORY. it wouldnt be a movie if it followed EXACTLY the way the book goes we would see it the way u see it anyother film!!!! its good that its DIFFERENT otherwise it would be BORING. ok now ive got that off my chest lol

I couldnt forget about the book! My mom was sitting beside me and she kept saying "Whos that?" "Is that his mentor?" "What did he just say?"

But there was a really funny part when Brom says that Eragon had discovered on his own what takes most people years to discover and starts teaching him magic, and a guy in our group who hadnt read the book was like "Ch-CHING!" and half the theater was laughing!

in the book- it desribes the mark on his hand as a egg shape NOT AN 'e'


also that they didnt have solobum in it! that was part of the move that helps along the way!

Back...I have no problems with placing half of book story into one city but they could do it better! City looks freakin poor and evil! (how many average fisherman villages have dead fish on every single high place?) It should be made of stone and without Angela and I'll be happy

The movie was totally screwed. They killed of the ra'zak, made arya with the wrong color hair and eyes, and didn't even have pointed ears, they changed the plot so much that it wasn't even eragon anymore but rather a whole different story, they left out important characters such as Solumbum, they had angela in the wrong place, ect, ect.

I heard that they are going to make all eldest and the third book when it comes out into a movie. they make alot of changes with those movies too. I'll still like the books better.

The reason why they made Saphira grow so fast was to save screen time, since if she had just stayed a baby for too long many people would have been shoting "Booooring" to the screen.

I think the movie started off well- I was a bit shocked about the Saphira growing up thing but for the sake of the pace of the movie I understand why they did that but...they left too much out. I expected stuff to be left out obviously but what I foudn really odd was the characters they left out (aprt for the werecat) they had actually flimed them all and cut them from the movie! I think it woudl have been better if they put them in b/c the movie was short enough not to suffer time wise.

Cant believe their making a sequal I wouldnt have thought it possible with all the stuff they missed out.

And I found out the long asked question of 'why has Arya not got pointed ears?' if any ones intrested.

Aprently they decided the whole 'pointy eared thing' had been done before, they wanted to be original! Silly really, I mean you wouldnt go, oh that whole human round ear things been done before lets give em pointy ones!

Arya didn't have pointy ears didn't look right no black hair she was also suposed to be unconishe (ugg I can't spell)

Eragon was to old and he didn't have the additude in the book

Roran didn't go to the army

Saphira didn't grow that fast and the feathers

tons of parts were missing

and alot more

I hated the movie

I saw the movie and really liked it to be just a movie. The problem was that when they adapted the book into a movie, the messed the entire thing up, and that, I find disappointing. I decided to go back and make my own Eragon script and I have finished it. I put it under FanFiction if any of you want to see it. It's about 2 hours and 34 minutes long, unlike the 1 hour and 45 minute Eragon that they made.

First it says in the book that Gabbys dragon is black
second Roran never goes to the army... not in the book and I dont think in the movie
Third you really want people to read that script dont you...

1- i believe it is
2- roran doesnt go to the army til the SECOND book
3- of course..follow at least SOME of the freakin story..their should be no script..the book IS the script..

They should have used the book as the script. They also should have paid alot more attention to the characters. If someone else did the moive the right way it would have been the best and not have gotten all those bad reviews.

I think you might be pleased with my script! I went back and added the extended edition to it as well. And yes, I do want people to read the script. I want to know what everyone thinks about it. If you just read a few scenes everyday, you could have it finished in no time. Well, maybe some time.

In my opinion:
The actors were fine,especially Arya and Brom who i think they were awesome.Jeremy Irons and Sienna Guillory were the perfect choices.
Saphira and Eragon could have been better
The Urgals were cpmletely wrong but still i liked them!!!
I think that in the movie Durza rides a Lethrblanka,or someting close to it.I agree that that was wrong but it was an epic(but short)battle among him and Eragon
Murthang was good
The fight scenes were good but short
All in all the movie should have last one or two hours more

Hey you are the first person i know who says that the movie was good.Glad you like it...The movie was awesome even if it didn't sticks in the book.I don't really cares.When i first saw it i liked it very much,and i still like it a lot,and after years i will still like it...
