i have no idea. . . if galby had his full, power, eragon would absolutely have to have visited the VoS and gotten more power to beat galby, and if the battle took place in galbys throne room, eragon would pown him with his sword fighting abilities, cause he is just so sick at it, and galby will be at elven speeds as well, so it will be somewhat even.

Galby will most likely be killing all the varden.

wait why would galby be using a sword (why not just attack with his mind in most of these battles neither contestant can move and Galby is very very good at them) and how would Eragon get in the throne room. Arya says that there are centuries worth of traps magical and otherwise. Nope Eragon is defiantly going to have to use some trickery to overcome Galby

P.S the battle will probably take place over Uru'bean.

Maybe Eragon could take over the mind of a bug and have it fly in to Galbys eye. And then attack.

A bug vs Galby with a ton of wards and the ability to realize that Eragon's mind is in the bug and to trap his mind and to kill him. Also the fact that galby could sense and kill the bug anyway.

Oh yeah i never thought about him sensing eragons mind but i don't think he have a special ward to stop bugs from geting in his eye.

ok what is a bug going to do to Galby even if it damages his eye galby will just kill it and repair/remake the eye.
P.S yes it can be done, the elves will do it for Sloan if he gets through his punishment.

Yes but killing the bug and healing his eye will give eragon enough time to stab galby.

How is Eragon going to control the bug's body, his own body and avoid/counter the hundreds of traps in the castle. Also I think Galby would notice Eragon's mind when he entered the room also Saphira is usually quite a giveaway.

Well maybe he could have one of the vardens spellcasters or an elf.
An elf will be able to take over the mind of the bug.

no there is no need for a new topic because Galby will not be distracted by a bug he probably had them in the castle before and has wards against them. Also Galby would notice that the bug's mind was not actually a bug's mind but an elf thats a bit of a giveaway.

how do you KNOW that the battle WILL be epic? besides a bunch of skirmishes could be epic. acts of heroism and selflessness would make a skirmish epic

the battle of the burning plains was a bunch of skirmishes(eldest when eragon is returing from the dragon wing).

The battle on the burning plain disintegrated into smaller battles however the fates of all the battles were all linked they would either all win or all lose. At the start of the battle it was an army versus an army and it still is it's just no longer a continuous line.

Well, since we don't know were the ROK is yet, it could. And I am pretty sure it will have a major role in the last book. I think the last battle will take place near it, because Eragon will need to use the ROK, like Angela told him.

what i ameant is the battle is going on at urubane and eragon, murtagh, and probably arya find the RoK and go there and Galby is there and they fight and completely PWN Galby.

I think the final battle will take place in Du Weldenvarden and Du Weldenvarden will be burned to the ground. The elves would leave to go back to were they came from and Eragon would go with them, therefore leaving Alagasia.

You do realize that Du Weldenvarden is huge and takes several days for a dragon to cross and that it has rives and lakes in it. It's unlikely that the entire forest will burn down.

Maybe just the cities. Galby could use a spell to destroy the forest.

Galby dosen't know where in the woods the cities are.

Galby probably had enough energy in his eldunaries to destroy the whole entire forest so he wouldn't need to know were the cities were.

Three things

1. The forest is absolutely huge it goes off the map and is over 150 miles wide.

2. The entirety of DU Weldenvarden apart from the edges are defended by wards that don't allow magic in or out.

3. Galby is hundreds of miles away from the forest.

So no even with hundreds of eldunari I doubt he has enough energy.

I think it'll take place at Uru'bean. Galbatorix would want stay where he is more powerful, and if the Varden do manage to take Uru'bean they'll find it very hard to break into his castle.

If the Varden do break in, Galbarorix migt fly out and battle in the sky, or stay in his castle waiting for the Varden to find him... and there is a good chance that he will take energy from his slaves.

Galby would want to stay were he is least vulnerable and where he knows his surroundings.

So the battle might take place in the throne room as someone said earlier.

True true and i dont think that he's foolish enough to be goaded out of his castle where as Murtagh said he is the safest.

I agree, but whose side will Murtagh be on? Galbatorix might make the green dragon be on his side, a bit like he did to Thorn.

I'm fer shur thinking that Galby wont be leaving his catsle just based off of Nasuadas assumption.

I don't even see how the Varden will be able to even break into Galby's castle with the amount of magic he's placed on it.

But in everyone else's opinions "in the books" (Nasuada etc. etc.) they claim that from what they know he wont leave his HQ untill he is threatened. If he waits untill there actually at the gates of Urubaen then the Varden's forces will be depleted, thus less chance of he himself losing the battle. It's just more pratical if he were to wait.

And why do you say he seems the type? We dont know anything about Galby, shoot the first time we ever "hear" his voice is at the end of brisingr.
We have hardly anything to gauge his personality on.

Maybe, but Galbatorix would want stay where he is most comfortable. I dog fight in the air would be the most likely battle place, apart from Galbys castle.
