Making an Entrance
The sun's heat was fierce today, just the way Solarae liked it. The fiery orange dragon lived for heat and adventure, and such things could easily be found in the Hadarac Desert. Solarae scented the wind. The smell of dust was thick in the air. A sandstorm... excellent, she thought happily. The small dragoness could feel the sun beat down pleasantly on her back; the heat soaked into her through her wings.
I'd better get something to eat before that sandstorm gets here. Don't wanna fight the wind on an empty stomach. Solarae thought, scenting the air again for prey.
Solarae had finally decided to return to Alagaesia. She had been absent from this land for at least a hundred years, but she hadn't been keeping track. Time was meaningless to her, especially when her life could be ended at any moment by her extremely reckless behavior. Solarae was on a scouting mission. She wanted to scope out the land before she deemed it safe to return. If Galbatorix was still on the throne it could ruin her plans for a long-term stay. However, she was hoping that if he was still "king" that there would be a chance to depose him.
For now, however, Solarae was going to have some fun in the coming sandstorm, after she ate of course.

Re: Making an Entrance
Faefnir awoke from his trance in Stronghold. She's here. He rose on all fours and spread his great golden wings, then opened the gates of his desert fortress. With a giant leap from his strong hind legs, his golden hulk rose into the sky. As he angled toward the close sandstorm, his acute eyes picked up the petite, burnt orange body of Solarae. As they both plunged into the storm, Faefnir kept at the sides, close enough for her to see him, but far enough away to not make out any detail in the whirling sand. Having been accustomed to hundreds of sandstorms, Faefnir knew very well how to keep himself airborne during the storm, making his flight as smooth as the 500-year-old dragonette he was pursuing. Then he communicated to her. There is a dangerous downdraft just ahead of you. Pull left now, Solarae.

Re: Making an Entrance
Gah! Here comes the sandstorm, guess I won't have time to catch a bite! Solarae thought as she entered the maelstrom. She wasn't unhappy, though. She absolutely loved flying through storms; any kind of storm.
She suddenly caught a whiff of dragon. She glanced back in time to see an enormous golden form pull in behind her. He made his movements in an unthreatening way, however, so she decided to wait for him to speak first. If he turned out to be hostile, she could always use her small size to outfly him and lose him in the storm.
Solarae, distracted by the presense of a dragon so large, was unaware of the dangerous wind before her. Ah! Thank you, golden one. So apparently you know my name, but I'm still unaware of yours! Solarae called out, immediately curious when the dragon called her name. She also noticed with amusement the size difference between them. He was absolutely gargantuan for a dragon, whereas she was absolutely miniscule. She laughed, a little at the thought, and a little in excitement, as she darted upwards suddenly and spiralled back down.

Re: Making an Entrance
Faefnir then flew parallel to the dragoness and followed her along the side, still far enough away that she couldn't make out any detail. My name? Oh, my name is not important at the moment. But you must come with me. Follow me west and out of the storm, then we'll have proper introductions, Solarae. Oh, and there is another downdraft right ahead of you. Pull right.

Re: Making an Entrance
Philo arched her back as her black scales glistened bloody red in the sunlight under a sandy storm extinguished the sky from veiw. I hate sandstorms. . . Infact, she hated deserts except for the warmth. Very undragonlike but still, it was how she felt. Perhaps because she was brought up in colder reigns climates. Philo dug her claws into the sand and lowered her fair head so that her firey spines waved upwards from her neck. She could only wait for the storm to pass on silently. . .

Re: Making an Entrance
Solarae listened to the ancient dragon. Very well, then. Take me where you will, Solarae said. When the dragon spoke of another downdraft, Solarae smiled dangerously and narrowed her eyes. Rather than avoiding it, she allowed herself to be pulled downwards. She laughed wildly as the air pulled her down towards the ground at impossible speeds.
Solarae suddenly used a manoever she had perfected in the deserts to the east, where the wind was greater and the sandstorms more powerful than the Hadarac's. She swang her tail wildly outwards and in a wide circle, like a propeller. She then opened her wings and twisted her neck up. The wild and uncontrolled force of her thrashing movements and the powerful, controlled force of her flapping wings propelled her hindquarters forward and over her shoulders, eventually swinging her tail all the way over her head and down beneath it. The movement also moved her out of the downdraft and she flapped back upwards.
Solarae smiled and laughed again. A bit unconventional, but it works. She said to no one in particular. Before she had flown very far, her nearness to the ground revealed another draconic form. She flew closer, fighting the strong winds. Wait, sun-scales. There's someone else down here. she called out to the large dragon above.
Solarae flew downwind of the dragon. She caught the scent of another female, and she could see that she was black. Greetings, dark-scales. I can see you don't exactly appreciate the sand. My golden friend up there is taking me west out of the storm. You can come too, if you want. Solarae said to her, working hard to stay in one general spot.

OOC: Pass my turn. Draco, I gave you custody of Faefnir and Rimfax temporarily. So, control them how you will.

Re: Making an Entrance
Philo flinched when the dragon behind her spoke. She lowered her head and scrutinized the stranger with maroon eyes. An enemy maybe? Perhaps I can filch some information off her to tell the Grim. . . she grinned at the thought. Philo then whispered cunningly, Thankyou for the offer, stranger. her peculiar accent was much different to the other dragon's. She smirked to herself. Might I know your name. . . ?

Re: Making an Entrance
Solarae watched the dark dragon beneath her, flapping hard to stay in one place. The small dragon frowned as the other was obviously thinking before answering. Hmm... I don't know about this one... I'd better be careful around her. Solarae thought, somewhat suspicious. The dragon finally spoke. Solarae grinned, revealing her extra-long, sharp fangs.
Give me your name, and I'll give mine, stranger, she answered. This dragon didn't seem as trustable as the enormous golden one. There had been no hidden intention in his voice, except of course for the reason he was leading her to the west and out of the sandstorm. But that intention had certainly not held any ill will. Solarae could, however, detect more secrecy and some distrust in the female's voice. She wanted to know more herself before making any move.
OOC: I won't have Faefnir do anything major until you get back, ILS. I'm guessing he's taking them to the Fortress? I'm also guessing he knows more about Solarae, other than her name.
IC: Faefnir was somewhat alarmed when the orange dragoness suddenly shot downwards as the wind took her. But he laughed when he saw that she had done it on purpose. He had known of Solarae's reckless nature, and was amused to see that this was definately true.
Faefnir saw the outline of the Solarae far below, and wondered why she had stopped moving. He flew down curiously, wondering what she had found. He soon sensed the presense of another dragon.
OOC: This is probably after he met Philo, so I'll just say he recognizes her eventually. (I'm not quite sure how he'd react to that though, so yeah...)

OOC: Now remember, Faefnir KNOWS, not just HEARS. He knows just about everything about you. And yes, he and Philo have run into each other before.

OOC: Oh, yes, of course. Faefnir knows. oooo. *waves fingers mystically* lol
I know that they've met (I follow along in most of the rps) but I'm not sure how he'd react to seeing her. (happy, suspicious, curious, etc...) 'Tis all I'm confuzzled on!
(Maybe I'll just wait 'til you get back; not much longer now!)

Re: Making an Entrance
OOC Alright then cheers IC Philo cocked her head. Sneaky, she muttered inaudiably to herself. I was expecting this one not to be so cautious. . . She inpected the dragon once more and said, My name hmm. . . She was not going to give the dragon her proper name incase she was an enemy so said her usual one in the Ancient Language so that the other dragon might view her as a little more trustworthy (all the better for Philo), You may call me Philo. She curled her lip. And so for your part of the deal, you must tell me yours. . .

Re: Making an Entrance
Solarae grinned. She really didn't mind if the dragon knew her name, her name didn't really reveal anything about her that wasn't already obvious. A sudden gust of wind caught her somewhat by surprise, and she was knocked a short distance upwards. Solarae frowned and folded her wings slightly, allowing herself to drop towards Philo.
Name's Solarae. And I'm sure my large golden friend would just love to meet you, Solarae said, giving another small grin. Solarae, was, of course, unaware that the two had already met.
The small, orange dragon looked up when she heard the approaching wingbeats of the enormous sun-colored dragon. Well, hello. I was wondering when you'd show up. Thought maybe you'd gotten sand in your eyes or something, Solarae said with humor edging her voice. She twirled around in a small circle, waiting for him.

Re: Making an Entrance
Faefnir kept in the air, so the young orange dragoness couldn't see him fully, but did respond to her. Why yes. Philo and I have run into each other before, but we never actually met. I would love it if she could accompany us. Now, if you will please kindly take flight and follow me, we'll head to Stronghold.

Philo sniffed. Stronghold? she asked, Where. . . abouts? She wasn't sure to leave anywhere without contacted the Grim. The only obstacle in her road was that she couldn't. He wasn't in the Hadarac.

Re: Making an Entrance
Solarae circled around lazily, looking up at the large, partially hidden dragon, while still keeping track of where she was flying. The Stronghold, eh? Is that where you live? she asked bluntly. She allowed a strong updraft to carry her to the same level as the golden dragon.
Are you gonna come? she asked Philo. Solarae had nothing better to do, and she was curious about this enormous dragon. She also wouldn't mind seeing if there was something to eat at this "Stronghold".

Philo wasn't sure if she should. What would the Grim say?
"I'll try to come. . ." she muttered, flickering her tail. She scrutinized Faefnir's huge, glittering, golden huge, as if he were a globule of the sun. "Lead the way. . ."

Re: Making an Entrance
Follow me, then. It is not far. And yes, Solarae. There is plenty of food there.
When the group landed in the mountain fortress, Faefnir closed the gates and motioned toward one of the side rooms. There is enough meat in there to feed a Ra'zac and Lethrblaka 100 times over. Help yourself. And don't worry. I am no friend of the Empire, so you won't find those pathetic excuses of dragon slayers here.

Re: Making an Entrance
Solarae laughed. Excellent, 'cause I'm starving, she said. She didn't bother to wonder how this dragon had known she was hungry; he seemed like the type who would just know those things.
Solarae couldn't supress a bit of awe at the looming mountain fortress. She knew that this dragon must be a powerful one to control a lair like this. When they had landed and he showed them the food room, Solarae was suddenly glad she hadn't had time to find a meal. This meat all looked of excellent quality. She snagged a large strip and approached the enormous dragon once more. So, you gonna tell me your name now? she asked cheerfully, breathing a small and controlled flame over the meat to cook it.
