dos anyone here play any instruments? i used to play piano, trying to learn the flute, and erm, used to do violin (forced). i really REALLY hate the sounds of violins. and another question: what instruments can you dudes not be able to stand? there's so many!! lol.

Hey! I just noticed! you're from Australia! cool, so am I... I live in Perth. Lvl 3's pretty good, I got up to level two piano before I stopped... Now my main instrument is classical guitar, i'm lvl 4/5 in that.

i quit piano 2 years ago when i was in grade six. My brother plays classical guitar. He has learned for quite some time now.

well here there this thing called the global village...were countrys all around the world come to sale things from there countrys...and a think am gonna buy my self those tamtam drums from africa...but one that as only one drum not 2.... its gonna be sooo sweet!!!!

after trying to learn the guitar myself i developed a new respect for any1 who played it

and if so, do u cross ur legs??

Well, that depends on what type of guitar you play and the style... i play classical guitar and you sit with legs slightly apart and u have to use a little stool thingy which your left foot rests on to make it higher.

or else u can cross your legs and rest the guitar on your leg which is quite common...

or just move your left leg out of the way and rest your guitar on your right leg which is easier when you're sitting on a low chair.

i had 2 guitar teachers
the 1st 1 told me that i could hold my guitar w/ my legs apart or crossed
he said usually girls prefer crossed and guys prefered apart
he was a glum gloomy guy
my 2nd guitar teacher was a happy we-can-do-it guy
he sat with his legs crossed

lol....well i prefer sitting down with my legs crossed but its weird its like shoe on my kneeand i tape the rithem with my shoe ....

for flute, the sound doesnt come out good unles u stand up or make ur bak totally straight while sitting down which is very uncomfortable.

ya i agree and i used to be in the band in 6th and 7th grade and then i sucked at it lol and so i do play it anymore cuz i think my grade in band was a f lol

Hi I'm new to the whole forums thing but if there is one thing i know it is music. I play the Piano/Keyboard and i love it and this next semester i am going to take guitar at my school.
I think all of the people who have wrote about this topic are very unique and to all of you right on!

i really wish i was skilled enough to play an instrument good!! that doesn't sound awful...

no offense to anyone, but i HATE the sound of violins. sheesh, the one instrument i can NEVER practice and be better than everyone at recitals... *sigh*.

but then there's piano... i can practice for hours and still SUCK.

lol! if anyone wants to learn an instrument, guitar is THE easiest instrument to pick up. Although quite hard to become very good at. piano is harder.

i play the clarinet in the school band.

I used to play for my school band but they wouldn't let me play the instrument i wanted so I quit

i was in after school orchestra for a couple of months... but it was boring and i was doing soccer at the time so i quit (plus my earlier reason of hating it).

yeah school band is great if you like tha music you have to play but i would just rather play rock with a garage band than classicle with the school

yeah i would like to learn guitar because i am like the only person i know who doesn't own one or know how to play one. it is like "the thing" here, lol.

a family friend gave me a guitar once, but i havnt touched it in yrs! Keyboard's my thing

I want to learn guitar bass keyboard and finish my drumming so i can completely write songs
