Maybe Robert Pattinson should try working out too! After all, the book describes him just as Jacob looks at the moment!

The wolf part was SOOOOO cool, but I think this is coming out way too fast. I mean, sure I love Twilight, but to make a movie more effective, you let the first one sink in for awhile. They're just rushing into this all.

New Moon was directed by Chris Weitz and I'm not sure who will direct Eclipse.

Thanks! Azzy! Last night I was watching Twilight with the commentaries and it came to mind, why Catherine Hardwicke did not direct this movie and the next one? She did a pretty good job with Twilight...so Idk...

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it was due to other committments that Catherine couldn't direct the second one. Hopefully this one is just as good as the first! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I was just watching the New Moon trailer and I noticed that Laurent and Bella are not in Bella and Edward's meadow. There seems to be like a red house from where Jacob comes from. Isn't Jacob's place described as a "small, red, dilapidated house?????
It kind of...does not add up!

Affornee to the rescue!!! Haha yeah I was watching this one the other week, and me and one of my colleagues both commented on that. When Jacob runs out of his house and transforms in front of Bella, he's actually protecting her from Paul, one of the other werewolves - they've just edited the clip so that it looks like he's going after Laurent.
As for them not being in the meadow, well I dunno why they've done that.

but I was watching it again and I started wondering, why is Edward the only one to react to Jasper? I mean the rest of the family just stand there not moving at all!

Well they only showed us a few snippets so I'm sure there will be more that happens - the rest of the scene will probably show the rest of the family's reactions after Bella slices her arm

Re: Twilight Sagas: New Moon
Btw for those of you asking about Eclipse nothing has been announced but I know that Drew Barrymore has expressed extreme interest in the project. (Yes she directs now too)
I'm not too fond of the idea but we shall see.
Oh and about it being released too early... I shall remind you of the LotR series, of which the 3rd (Return of the King) grossed $1,129,219,252 worldwide at the box office. A record only beaten by Titanic. Each of those movies were released one year after the one before. It worked out well and I like not having to wait 4 years for the next installment. Also if they did wait longer both Edward and Bella would look much older and they already dont look 17 but in their 20s. (Cause they are)

True, but if you recall, unlike the Twilight Saga, The LotR had a whooping budget of $285 million, the entire project took 8 years, with the filming for all three films done simultaneously. Then came the editing. When there was need to re-do a segment, they would call in the actors/actresses shoot and see ya later alligator. This gave them a year's time to make any edits to the original film.
I highly doubt the TS has ¼ of that kind of budget and the expertise and vision Peter Jackson had of the books.

Yes but that would affect the quality of the movie not the popularity factor going up or down because of the release date.

So what you mean is that the series is just a "momentarily fad" therefore the movies need to be done quickly before the fad dies out???

No no, I was referring to Silv's comment about sometimes needing to leave some time to let the first movie sink in before they release the second...
Personally I like it when they release them quickly because I am very very impatient but sometimes it is worth the wait.

Oh! OK! If I'm to be honest, I am really anxious to watch Eclipse and see how well they did with the movie.
I just hope have not messed up the book. I am very apprehensive with the movie version of some books. Other I could care less! If I have not read the book, I guess it's easier, but if I have, my expectations seem to usually be very high! (And I end up in total disappointment)

I'm very nervous for both Eclipse and Breaking Dawn because I am worried how they will portray certain people's imprinting *cough cough* I wont say it here because I dont wanna spoil it for anyone who hasnt gotten that far in the series but you know what I mean.

Did you noticed in the trailer that there is a red house from where Jacob jumps off to phase? In the book it's similar to the description of Jacob and Billy's place. But if it is it's not Bella and Edward's meadow, then Laurent is in Quileute land. Vampires do not cross Quileute land!

valkyrie ~ i agree with you that drew barrymore wouldnt be my first choice as the next director . shes a great actress but i dont think that it would be good for the movies for her to direct. if you go to (if i remember right) to paramount's home page it will tell you when eclipse is to be released. its going to hit theaters in june of next year.

Yeah I noticed this too, so I actually looked it up, and in that scene, Jacob IS jumping from his house, but not to protect Bella from Laurent, as the clips would have you believe. He's actually phasing to protect Bella from Paul (looks like they've changed that part of the book around a bit what with the location etc)

it wouldnt be the same if bella didnt hear edwards voice and i think that we will see that scene between bella and laurent portrayed acurately. even if he knew that was indian land he wouldnt be bound by the same treaty and edward and his family.

I'm not sure of that, but the trailer looks cool. Jacob seems to play a much larger role in this movie (by the way, I haven't read the books, and I don't plan on it ). I wonder if he'll fight that vampire guy who was about to attack Bella.

Smeyer describes her werewolves physicality as regular wolves but a lot bigger. Not gonna lie, I squeed a lot over this And yes, Jacob plays a huge role in New Moon. Its one of the reasons I love it so much. =)

Does anyone know if they're completely set on the soundtrack yet?
I think the list there is just what songs would be appropriate for the movie... But then again, I don't know much about the New Moon movie at all, so maybe it is, Idk...

I'm pretty sure they DID almost kiss - towards the end of the story when they are at Bella's house, and they get interrupted by the phone ringing. For those of you who haven't read it I won't say exactly what happens, but Jacob picks up and says "He's at the funeral". Hopefully those who HAVE read it will understand what I mean lol

I'm pretty sure they actually did kiss, well Jake kissed Bella anyway. Then she punched him and broke her hand

You could be right, but I'm pretty sure that happens in Eclipse, not New Moon

na i think its definitely in new moon and not eclipse. eclipse you see more of edward and bella since alice and bella went to italy and stopped him from outing himself. with edward back in the scene i dont think that bella would kiss another guy. even if she did have feelings for him. her feelings for edward are stronger.

that's true, but in Eclipse, Jacob is trying to win Bella from Edward, and he kisses her unexpectedly, which is why she punches him. In New Moon, Bella has finally started to give up on Edward, and she's actually considering being with Jacob, hence why they both look like they're getting ready to kiss the other

Yeah, I feel like they should be bigger... didn't they mistake one of the wolves for a bear once? I doubt they could mistake Jake-Wolf for a bear... though he's not as big as Paul or the others yet, at that point we saw in the trailer... I guess it's not too big of a deal.
I always imagined Jane being... chubbier, I guess? Or cherubic, yeah, that's the word. Oh well.

one of the worst thing i hate about movies like this is when they put words and actions together that don't go together.
Like I saw a trailer today, when Bella crashed the bike for the first time and she cut her head. In the trailer while they sitting on the side of the road and Jake is checking the bike, Bella says "You're kinda beautiful." She doesn't say that till they are almost back to her house, in the truck

Oh please, you cant be picky about where they say stuff like that! New Moon is a 516 page book that has to be fit into a 2 hours or less movie. Can you even read New Moon in 2 hours? Of course some things are going to be changed and switched around. I was super impressed that they did such a fabulous job of keeping as true to the book as possible in Twilight unlike other films where they change everything like Eragon.

I'm with you Valkyrie - you've got to expect that some things are going to be changed from the books. I decided to watch Twilight first and then read the book, so that I couldn't get disappointed by the movie being completely different from the book, and was really shocked to find that it was so close to the book version.
I know they've changed a couple of things around in New Moon, but I'm keen to see how close it follows the book.

Re: Twilight Sagas: New Moon
if they did everything as the book described it, the movie would be hours long. u cant always have the people in the movies match up to the way they r described in the book. the directors (and whoever else) do the best that they can (people wise) and interpret the book as they see fit. sometimes making the movie better than the book.
case in point : blue smoke by nora roberts. the book was good. i really got into the story and finished it in about a day. when i watched to movie it was so much better.
sometimes the book or books remain better than the movie. thats not to say that the movie itself wasnt good.
case in point : eragon. the book was fantastic. the movie was good too. onne of those that if u havent read the book first u would think it was good. but when u read the book then watch the movie u see where they could have done more.
montana sky : the book was absolutely fantastic! the movie on the other hand ..... sucked, just to put that mildly. u want to talk about not having the people look even remotely like they were described in the book, then u should definetly read then watch the movie.

That new trailer actually looks really cool! A lot more action than in Twilight. And I don't know much about the books, but I'm happy to see more of Jacob here in New Moon. It's about time I learned a bit about the wolves too.

I think we own the whole series. Well, at least my sisters do. And sure thing, I'll consider reading them if I ever get the time. School is already forcing me to read The Scarlet Letter, and I'll never get the chance to juggle two books at one time, especially with one that I can't understand a single word of! I'll probably see the movie though, that'll be enough for now.

avatar ~ i can understand about school. and my sympathies on having to read the scarlet letter. i hated reading that book in school. it was long drawn out and hard to understand. at least my teacher ( after the class complained ) was able to find copies of it that were a bit easier to understand. the movie that they made wasnt much better. but good luck with it!

Re: Twilight Sagas: New Moon
Lol, doesn't sound like too great a book. Oh well, I'll get through it, my teacher is pretty easy-going with our class. Maybe she'll cancel it entirely.
Just to stay on topic: I saw another trailer for New Moon, but it was in German. It actually showed a few clips that I haven't seen though, so it was cool. The voices for the characters sounded so weird though! I swear, Jacob and Edward had the same voice actor! But Bella's voice actress sounded strangely similar to her... but it seemed to match Alice's.

SO much better than the first one! The werewolf effects were great! They followed the book very well, much better than the first one. The Cullen's eyes looked mucked prettier, but the Volturi's eyes looked a bit to red, I mean, wouldn't the humans notice their eyes are blood red? Oh, and when Bella was screaming during her nightmares was stupid, but whatever.
p.s Jacob was hot!

i think it was somewhere in the begining of eclipse. i think they were sitting down in his room talking about his mother and her (bella's) immortality. but i wont swear to it, id have to re-read the books again lol
jesse and i just got back from seeing new moon and i loved it, i think it was like 10 times better than twilight (dont attack me lol) and i think jacob should of had his shirt of a little more for my liking!! lol but i didnt think edward looked nearly as good of jacob with his shirt off lol!!!
and i heard that they were putting some of eclipse (the book) in with the movie new moon so yeah i think the proprosal is in the 3rd book!!

So I drug my guyfriend to see it on Saturday night and he even admitted that Jacob is pretty hot lol this coming from the straightest guy I know!! Haha
But yeah, I agree with you dragon-freak, it was so much better than the first one.
I was kinda freaking out through the rest of the movie after Jacob cut his hair!! He looks so much like someone I know!! Even his voice at some points sounded similar to my friends! And when their walking on the beach? He was walking exactly like my friend does!!! It really freaked me out....
Anyways, yeah, good movie, going to see it again on thursday with my sis....

I saw it saturday, it was pretty good. The Volturi part I thought was better in the book than in than in the movie. And Edward's condition was set at the end of New Moon, after they got back from the Cullens; page 540. I think they should've made the last meeting between Edward and Jake as it was in the book, with Charlie yelling and the motorcycle.
Oh that reminds me, (in the movie) when Bella and Jess are at the movie and Bella takes a ride with that guy, that was one of the dumbest things I think they did for the movie. That totally gives her a different personality than in the book.

Ugh. New Moon the movie did the exact same thing the book did. Made me absolutely ABHORE Edward and Bella and fall completely in love with Jacob. Seriously... It was so hard not to throw popcorn at the screen. UGH

We haven't seen it yet, but I've only heard good things from people at school about the movie. They all keep discussing whether they're fans of Team Edward of Jacob, but I haven't heard anything negative about the movie. I guess because you're Valk, and you're "not easily impressed."
my mom took me and my friend Christy Saturday. It was pretty good. Except for the scenes where Edward had his shirt off, eww! But the scenes where Jake had his shirt off made it all better.

Re: Twilight Sagas: New Moon
Hey dont get me wrong, its a good movie and I never said otherwise. I'm just kinda irritated by the Twilight fans. They have seriously ruined the series for me because now when you say you like Twilight you get pushed into a stereotype. Teenage fangirl who goes gaga over Edward. I have been a fan of the books since I was... 14. So I knew about Edward before all of these stupid fangirls who make me look like an idiot. New Moon has always made me angsty because of what happens in it. Seriously. If you took a look at my New Moon book you would see pages ripping from the binding because I threw it at the wall and pages with watermarks because i cried on it. Its a very emotional book and the fact that people go to see it just to see people shirtless and listen to some creepy actor try to be Edward and just come off as a stalker... irritates me. Lol.

I agree with you Valkyrie, though I am a guy. Most of the girls I know didn't give a crap about when Bob or Taylor didn't have their shirts on, though I was disturbed at Bob's, they filmed it like he was naked*shudders* In fact the whole theater cracked up laughing when Taylor took his shirt, and I'm sure where all at the very least, disturbed when Bob did.
I think they screwed up on this one pretty bad, they shouldn't've added all the crap that they did. And Kristen absolutely is a horrible actress, I have no idea how she landed the job.

Re: Twilight Sagas: New Moon
I don't know. They had clips of that in the trailer and I was like, "What the Hell?" It was was absolutely pathetic, that was one of the worse parts. It really brought out that they are just actors and don't really take on the persona of their characters. Though I think Alice, Jake, Jasper, Emmet, Esme, Charlie, and Carlisle were pretty close to being pulled off.
wow kit thats pretty harsh. yea there were things that i would have liked to see follow the book better. like the motorcylcle deal and edwards condition. and i believe that it was the vultori that gave the one yr condition on bella becoming immortal. but for the most part i thought it was fantastic. i think that kristen's acting is wonderful and that she has done a great job in bringing bella to life on screen. and both guys (edward and jacob) look good with out their shirts on.
i just watched another movie today called the ugly truth. if you havent seen it yet you should. it was funny! a bit graphic in the language but absolutely funny
