I honestly don't know. It's rock but not rock, and not light rock either.

i thought everyone knew coldplay. they are british rock/pop. they have piano in quite a few of their songs as an addition to the normal guitar drums etc. which makes it sound cool. clocks is ok.

never heard clock.....but i like talk and speed of sound.......*watch'sspeed of sound video on green day.* oooooooooooooo pretty colors.....

Coldplay is the ****, man. I love their songs, they have their own sound, cool, calm, yet still emotional.

I can actually play a few of their songs on piano, I'm so proud.

Favorites=Yellow, Fix You, Swallowed in the Sea, and X&Y (this last one especially, they make great use of a classical orchestra.

I like speed of sound. They are good, but lots of their songs sound practically the same. Still on my top 10 list though!

They only sound similar because they use piano in their rock. You could say the same about electric guitar. But I agree abt the similarity because piano is so distinct

Viva la vida is pretty sweet but i like clocks better though

Lovers in Japan (good background and melody set up)
Viva La Vida (danceable lol, a couple memorable lines)
The Scientist (the video makes the song)
Green Eyes ( simple little ditty, country influence perhaps)-probably my favorite
Speed of Sound (meh)
Talk (robottttt)
Fix You ( the end is cool when they're all singing together)

I like them because the write interesting melodies and catchy lyrics. I find their work not particularly deep and the music itself generic sounding, as previously mentioned. The instrumentation could be more complex, which wouldn't matter but the songs don't really make me think, so I notice that.
