Anyboudy have ANY idea what this could mean? im sorry if this topic is already posted, I didnt look more than 1 page. It was on Paolinis "spoiler" interview. I personally dont thing the are spoilers, they give you more to think about. Any ideas what/who it could be??

I was intrieged by this spoiler when Christopher Paolini gave it out; I do not think any past character of the cycle has "liked to laugh" so we can probably assume it is a new character to all the books. I think it could be a member of a new race/species, or maybe someone we have heard of YET NOT seen in the books before. Gosh, these spoliers just make me want to read that book faster!

Well he already said it was a new charactor, we dont need to guess that. They might be a species like the Razzac or something, who knows?

It could be another shade or something... Or another betrayal. It could be on purpose, or not willing like Murtagh. Its obviously going to be a powerful charactor, so it cant be something minor, like a dwarf or a non-rider human. Or it could be someone from King Palancars homeland, thats where the Raz'zac came from...

it couldn't be betrayal because CP said a new charry it probably won't be a shade because he allready killed one.... maybe a new species?

I dont know. Yet again, we need someone elses opinion. We have a lot of topics where it is jsut us, so we dont get a variety of thoughts.

Hmmm. But if hes not a rider, I doubt he would be that powerful. Definitly he wouldnt be a threat to Eragon, who could eliminate him at ease. I dont think it would be just some random madman.

Possible. If he was that great though, how would he have lost his mind? And why would he side with Galby, or againt Eragon? He could actually be againt both of them, he could be against everyone.

But this guy is an enemy, the God isnt neccesarily. He said he meets a God, not fights one( although he could have meant that ). Theres still a good chance it could be something like the Raz'zac.

Why would it be Selena? She would be giving Eragon advice and stuff, she would be on his side. Maybe trianna tries summoning a spirit too strong and becomes a shade or something...

Yeah that is really clever. But Its probably going to be a new charactor, because its POWERFUL. Also, if someone could be powerful just because galby used dark magic on them, hed do it to the entire army so they would be super strong and would crush the Varden.

Or liek you mentioned in another topic, it could be sloan. He was a pretty good fighter, and he was kind of crazy. That would take care of the laughing part, but im not sure if hes powerful enough.

He said he will meet a new and powerful foe who likes to laugh i think. Thats decently possible, and yes we already mentioned shades. Explain though, because sloan cant use magic last time I checked...

But durza was a sorcerer, remember? He tried to cast a spell to big for him when Haig died, and turned into a shade.

Silvers right If sloan knows magic and katrina dies it might create the same effect as durza. However there allready has been a shade and so the likelyness of that happening drop.

How would he learn magic though? no one would have any inclination to teach him..

Who knows. Sloan is a mysterious charicter. Maybe the razac teach him. Or take hime to galby and galby teaches him. Or murtagh teaches him. There are possibilitys.

Sooo I was searching for the thing birds have instead of mouth and I'm not sure what expression is right (beak, bill, snout, neb, nib, pecker ), luckily it doesnt matter.
Point is: Have you ever tryed to learn from something with that ...bird thing? Because I have bad feeling that Raz'zac and Sloan could have quiet a few problem with conversation. Galby probably doesnt care about Sloan, u know it awesome to have butcher in your army, it's even better when it's magical butcher but I guess there are many butchers in Empire why would be Galby waiting for Sloan? Same goes for Murthag...

here's a random idea for ya......if the new enemy is an old character gone bad, what if its elva. mabye when eragon goes to take his spell off her something happens. that kind of thing seems to happen to him a lot

I think maybe it's someone who's played a minor role in Eragon and Eldest? Someone easy to overlook, but a little too major to forget? I think there'll be clues though...we've just got to find them.

If it's a completely new character, we can't guess. But I'd say their personality is very...uh...confident, seeing the laughter. Maybe even over-confident? And maybe he should be someone really skilled in magic like...*lightbulb appears*...GALBY'S BROTHER! No wait, that's a stupid idea...*sigh*

Well, I don't know. If I've got more ideas, I'll post them up ^^
