Skinny Dip? It's a classically, bitingly comedic Hiaasen book, taking place in Florida just like all his other books. His characters are all so hilarious and so strangely...out there. The lead character, Joey, is thrown overboard by her husband because he's doing some illegal stuff and thinks she knows. He thinks she's dead but she survived and messes with his head and stuff. Really good book. I love Hiaasen's books, but my favorite by him is Hoot.

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray is great, as is Wicked by Gregory Maguire. I also love 1984 and Animal Farm, both by Orwell, and The Metamorphosis by Kafka.

Yeah Drizzt has to sweet scimitars. You should read them. In a book store the first book is called the Crystal Shard in the fiction part. Look in Forgotten REalms

I understand what you mean if you hated narnia because CS Lewis's writing style is very different from those of many modern writers. Most people would call it old-fashioned or unable to capture emotion, but I personally think it is good.

Regarding Narnia, it's not only the styles that ain't easy, it's also all the Biblic references.
Believe me, it's not against the religion itself at all, but all the clerical stuff in these books
bored me. Besides, for me those books weren't eccentric enough for me ...

LMFAO wow that sounded hilarious... I guess you didnt mean it that way but it would have made many adults laugh. perhaps reword that?
And Narnia does have a lot of symbolic objects, events and places which can be interpreted by readers as relating to the bible, but it definitely does not HAVE to be interpreted that way, although there are occasional explicit references to christianity.

...blushes? well it is plain that Lewis obviously meant for Aslan to be symbolic of Jesus or God especially when he sacrificed himself and rose again. But it is also good that he didnt make it so overly religious that people are turned away from it. Sometimes it is strange reading books that have so much religious meaning imposed throughout because the book is no longer a literary piece as such but more of a preaching message

Yes, I never stop reading Eragon (unless I'm reading Eldest). In between Eragon now, I'm reading Artemis Fowl- The Eternity code.

I remember when i was young in 1777. I remember being a powerless man that could not control my fate much less that of the people around me. I temember hearing the howls of the wolves and wishing i could run with them. And then came that faithful day when i was attacked by a lone wolf looking for food. It turns out what he called a curse was a blessing to me. I was finally able to run with the wolves not just in my imagination but in reality with four paws of my own. I was no longer a mere man or a victim of fate but a creature of the night, an immortal, A WereWolf.

They made that into a series?
I read the first one but didn't really like the whole squirrel thing
and they weren't really dragons
but clay models
which was disappointing
i liked the witch bit though
