Battle on Illium

IC: Circe slithered over the island of Illium. She was known by the creatures of the isle in all four of her forms. The wildest of beasts cringed in fear when they heard her hunting screech, they ran for cover when they smelled the sickly-sweet smell of her poison on the wind. They hid when they heard her trumpeting call as a scylla. To these creatures she was known as the destroyer, the taker of life the dark goddess. It was a day like any other. On this particular day, Circe was traveling as a basalisk, her most practiced form. She used her sense of smell to track her prey on this day. It turned out to be a lost bear. It was a female, and quite large, but still much to small to be any kind of threat to her. Circe slithered quietly, for fear of spooking her prey. Then she hissed her joy when the bear wandered into a cave. The goant snake followed. Its hunger was building. When she found the bear, she saw that the female was a grizzley, and no weak little cub. The bear knew it was by far outmatched, but still it fought. It reared up on its hind legs and roared its defiance, but with one quick strike, Circe gave the killing blow, it was not instant, oh no, it was far worse. She hissed happily and slithered out of the cave, awaiting the inevitable, the death of the bear... _________________ Role-Playing Characters: Ara The dragon of illusion. Time to use my new charry. You know, I don't think we've really rped yet, Leo. Normal doesn't really count 'cause our charries haven't interacted. IC: Ecco walked through the forest, in elf form. She closed her eyes and sent out rapid clicks of sound with her mind. Even in human form, she could use echolocation. It was like seeing in the dark, and even through things. As she was observing the forest creatures, a foul scent traced over her nose. She opened her eyes with a frown and stared towards the cliffs, resting her hands on her daggers. Something's out there... she thought, narrowing her deep blue eyes. Ecco heard a faint roar, that of a bear, and immediately began running towards the sound. She paused near the base of the cliff, and instead of running into the cave, turned and ran further down the rocks. She stopped and jumped up to a narrow ledge, beginning the climb upwards. She hauled herself over rocks and bramble before finally reaching the top of the rocky incline. With low, silent steps she raced over the open ground and ducked into a cave that she was sure must lead lower. Ecco raced down the tunnel, and her eyes widened when she saw the dying bear. "What came in here? What killed you?" she said quietly, alarmed. She glanced around, making sure the attacker was nowhere in sight, and summoned a dagger of ice. She threw it towards the suffering animal so that it struck it in its throat, ending its pain. "I'm sorry," she whispered sadly. She slowly slithered beck out of the underbrush of the surrounding forest and into the cave. She made no attempt to hide her presence, for she knew that by this time, the bear was either already dead, or was too weak to move, and that there was nothing, more fierce than she. She slowly came into the chamber which held the bear and tasted the air with her tongue. Someone or something came in here... I hate when visitors come and do not stay for dinner, maybe I will find them. tought the withc to herself as she came next toe the bear. She observed it and noticed that it had been stabbed in the neck. She sighed and thought nothing of it. She then began to eat. The bear was good, but a bit tough for her taste, she made a mental note of it, then curled up and fell into a light sleep. _________________ Role-Playing Characters: Ara The dragon of illusion. She had made her way back down the rocks and into the forest, and was watching from a safe distance for the return of the killer. She lurked patiently in the shadows, hoping that it wouldn't be something really evil. Unfortunately, her hopes were dashed. A huge snake; a basilisk, slithered into view. It was headed towards the cave. Basilisks were always nasty, but Ecco could sense the magic in this one. Extending her mind cautiously, she also felt the intelligence of the snake. It was not a normal basilisk, that was for sure. The shapeshifter waited a few more minutes, waiting for all noises from within the cave to cease. When all was silent and the land growing dark, she crept forward. She snuck next to the rocks, darting between shadows without a sound. She was a master of stealth, if anything. Her training as a hunter, in all three of her forms, served her well. She did not move a muscle, the only thing that moved were her eyes. She looked about the cave, but could see nothing. She cursed silently, if she were in her Roc form, she would be able to see everything in the cave. So, she decieded to use her nose. She stirred. She flexed her muscles, she was proud of them, she had her venom, but more times than a few, her muscles had saved her from some trouble, they were her real weapons. She slithered about the cave, looking for anything she could see she cursed her present form, for its lack of good vision, but knew that it had its own advantages over the sight of the Roc, or the hearing of the scylla. _________________ Role-Playing Characters: Ara The dragon of illusion. The beast was curled up inside, but she could already hear it stirring in the darkness. She frowned, wondering if staying in this form was wise. She could not see or smell as well as in her dragon form. And though she could use magic, it would be impossible to have any sort of physical fight with a beast like that. Perhaps I could see how well I hold against it in this form... it would be good practice for me at least, she thought with a nod of her head. She had grown up using her dragon form, and had spent a great part of her life in dolphin form in order to explore the oceans. But this form she had only used in the years between her childhood and exploration, and had been using it for a few months again. It was her natural form, but it certainly didn't feel that way. Ecco slowly crept up the rocks until she was over the top of the cave mouth. Here she would stand a better chance against the enormous snake, and could cast her magic with a wider view of the land. She followed her nose through the cave until she came to some rocks. On the top of them, standing was something which looked a lot like an elf. She hissed loudly and lunged foward at a blinding speed, but she had not correctly judged the distance and had not reached the elf with her first strike. She could see that the beast had not drawn enough of its great length out of the tunnel to reach her. She forced herself to keep from flinching as the huge fangs closed only inches from her face. As the snake drew back, Ecco drew her own hands back and then plunged them forward. The sheen of magical ice coating her fingers glowed, and a coating of frost formed over the basilisk's face, fogging its view of the elf. She retreated a small distance, and waited, she counted down in her head, One ... two ... then, on three, shifted her entire bulk into the chamber. She layed her tail in front of the exit and began to search about with her nose. The room was full of different smells, but in a way, they were all alike. Animals. thought the shapeshifter as she finally located her prey. She lunged at the woman, but missed. She happily noticed that she had gone past the elf and began to try to coil her powerful body around the elf, in hopes of squeezing the life out of her. _________________ Role-Playing Characters: Ara The dragon of illusion. This time she had enough length, but she wasn't fast enough to get the elf. Ecco sprang into the air and got even higher up the rocky slope, avoiding the deadly coils of the snake. The more she watched this basilisk, though, the more she came to realize that it was not an ordinary beast. Ecco cast a thin sheen of ice over the rocks the basilisk was on, hoping it would slip. She didn't cast more than a thin layer, though, to conserve energy. As she waited, she saw that the snake's eyes held something different behind them; some sort of intelligence. Hesitantly, as if the beast would attack with its mind immediately, Ecco cast out her mind and felt over the basilisk's. It was intelligent, and it was definately not a pure basilisk. What are you? She slithered forward, but not onto tehe rocks themselves, because her scales would not climb such slippery terrain. She slithered forward and stretched herself until she was at an equal height with the woman and said, Well, if you musat know, I am the dark goddess of the Night elves. I am a mixture of five races, able to become a scylla, a basalisk, or even a Roc at my will. A dark elf? She knew of them, and knew of their evil. The Elders told me of your kind, evil one, she hissed into its mind, drawing her daggers in one smooth stroke, I shall not allow you to persist in your ways unchallenged. She jumped higher up the rocks, getting above the snake. Forget practice, she needed all her power to deal with a dark elf! Legend had spoken of many times when dark elves and the shaman elves had clashed, and even though both groups seemed to have diminished, obviously there would be another fight between them. Ecco would match the dark one move for move, and when she was in basilisk form, the logical thing to do would be to shift into a dragon. But to do that, she needed more time and space between her and the basilisk. She slithered away back into the forest. Once there, she began to focus. She concentrated all her energy into the one thing she needed, the Roc. She focused for the full time, and then shreked in pain as feathers frew, as did claws and a beak. When it was done, she was a fully grown Roc. She flapped her powerful wings and launched herself into the air. She flew high, higher than most dragons and scanned the ground below for any sign of the elf, if she saw the elf, she would stand no chance, for a Roc's speed and agility was renound. _________________ Role-Playing Characters: Ara The dragon of illusion. The elf grinned, narrowing her deep blue eyes. Wait till she sees that I am no mere elf, she thought, racing ahead. She skidded to a stop on the edge of the cliff, drawing her feet to the side as she did. Rocks fell off the edge where she had knocked them, tumbling away to the water below. Ecco smiled again, and closed her eyes, seeking the very center of her magic. In the warmest, brightest part of her mind, she found what she was looking for. Her hand outstretched as a strange, black and white swirling light appeared before her. When she touched it, a light appeared around her and her form dissolved into thousands of points of glittering light. They stretched out, flashing into the sky, and then recondensed, only in a much larger form. The light around her faded, revealing a glorious black and white dragon, its eyes seeming to burn with blue fire. A pair of scales on its neck, one ice-blue and the other iron-gray, were the only things betraying the fact that it wasn't a normal dragon. She had no idea where it came from, but did know that it was getting out of her territory, times were hard enough, without a top predator entering the scene. She screeched angrily and hurtled out of the clouds toward the dragoness. She clamped her beak shut as she closed in on the other, then snapped open her powerful claws, hoping to get the dragoness by the neck and with a few pecks kill the other. _________________ Role-Playing Characters: Ara The dragon of illusion. Before it could get close enough to strike, she jumped off the cliff, stretching out her bicolored wings and giving a powerful flap. She soared away and twisted around to see her attacker. It was a roc, and Ecco guessed that this was the next form of the dark elf. The eyes were the same, and so was her mind. Ecco hissed, clenching and unclenching her claws angrily. She let out another roar, but sent out clicks of echolocation as well. Others would not be able to hear the high-pitched sounds. With them, she could "see" everything around her, especially since some of the sound went through objects with low density. It did not overly affect her, her feathers were warm and her body was well muscled, so she fought through it. She screeched angrily and flew at the monster again, ripping and tearing at the dragon, then flapping away, high into the sky to avoid retaliation. _________________ Role-Playing Characters: Ara The dragon of illusion. The black and white dragon rose her own claws to meet her, and she grappled with the roc for an instant before her enemy soared away once more. Ecco's four limbs to the roc's two had kept her from recieving more than a few light scratches. She didn't wait any longer than she had to, and flew up after the roc, hard on its heels. She roared, flapping to catch up. If she could get close enough, she could attack the dark elf in bird form with sound. It was her most effective weapon. Against a creature this size, it wouldn't do more than give it a blast of sharp pain, but that could work as an effective distraction. She had to get a little closer, though. She flapped her wings hard, to build up speed, tghen, with one quick motion, flew in a large circle, and dove behind the dragon, straight toward the water below, but just as she got too close to the water, she snapped open her wings and began to fly fast back across the water. Though she could not execute maneuvers as quickly as the bird, she was an amazingly strong flyer, and could keep up a pretty fast speed for hours. She was used to flying through treacherous storms, where the slightest wronge twitch of the wings could send one spinning out of control. You are wrong! You do not outmatch me, dark one! she cried back, glaring. She sent another blast of ice towards the transformed elf. Her fast, powerful wingbeats eventually caught up to the bird, despite its quick turns and changes of direction. They were flying over water. Ecco slowly flapped higher, until she was just behind and above the roc. She began to beat her wings faster to get higher into the air, above the clouds. Then, she dissappeared into a cloud, and waited. She saw the dragon then dove fast at the dragon, her claws and beak extended to attack the enemy. She charged forward, her eyes on the target, her wings closed, but tensed, ready to spread in an instant. She watched the bird fly higher, all the time keeping tabs on it with her echolocation. She wouldn't be surprised by it if it attacked. She growled under her breath as she saw it start to dive towards her, and stopped, hovering, waiting for it to approach. When the roc was close, almost too close, Ecco felt the immense build-up in energy. A blast of sharp sound radiated from her mind, pulsing into the air straight towards the attacking roc. Ecco felt the drop in energy, but she still had enough to continue the fight. Hopefully her sound pulse had given her an edge in the sky. She watched the dragon angrily, angry at herself for falling into the trap, and angry at the dragon for suprising her like that. She screeched oddly, because of her injured hearing and flew high into the air, higher that most other creatures, far above the clouds where the air was cold, cold no matter where you were on the earth and waited. I have an idea, actually. IC: Ecco watched, satisfied, as the roc tumbled away and then flew awkwardly back into the higher air. She did not follow the bird; she felt safer near water and land, where she had an escape route. It was too open up there, too exposed. She would not be able to use the sonar pulse for a while in this form now, but she had plenty of other abilities. Had the dark elf realized that she was not really a dragon yet? And, no I have no idea, I just wanted to practice my use with Circe. IC: Circe screeched and continued to watch the dragon. She could not win against it head on, its scales, as well, as likely fire breath would defeat her easily, she had to be smart, draw it out, away from the land, where even if she fell into the water, Circe could fight, as a scylla. She watched the dragon closely and screeched angrily, then she flew away, back toward the mountains and trees. She thought to herself, If she is going to fight with sound, then she could fight where the trees, as well as rocks and such where my agility would be best. Also, my idea was that they'd end up in their water forms, but then get captured by some people (either elves or Galby's men or something) and have to work together to get out. Which would be interesting, to say the least. IC: Ecco's eyes narrowed as the roc flew towards the island, darting towards the trees and rocks of the interior. She knew the dark elf was relying on that form's agility. Well, then I guess I'll have to show you what I can do in tight spaces, she thought, following after the bird. She flew quickly over the land and then darted into the forest. The trees were too thick for her to fly, so she was forced to land amongst them. Pine boughs scraped against her black and white scales as she crouched down, keeping tabs on the roc with her echolocation. IC: Circe watched the dragon. It was too large to do much in the trees, but she could so a lot, her small build and hollow bones were perfect for this type of situation. She watched the dragon and clacked her beak loudly, then moved to another part of the forest. She landed and sat down to meditate. It took her some time, but it was not long after that when she back in her normal form. She walked quietly through the trees, dagger in hand. She whispered spells to cause small noises, eerie noises, noises which did not seem natural. Thank you IC: Elcyon was sleeping in her cave on top of the cliff that overlooked the sea and sky, but she was having a terrible nightmare. A storm was breaking through the sweet dream she was having in her days with Rodan, and that the darkness was once again coming to capture her body and mind. She woke with a start, breathing hard and trying to get a grip for all it was worth but her heart would not pace itself. She looked around and realized that her dreams were beginning to become a reality, just like she and Equinox discovered not too long ago… While she had been thinking, screeches could be heard from outside as though a fight was waging. El let out a sigh and clambered out onto the cliff to peer down below. A dragon it seemed was fighting a rather large bird mid-air, though for what reason she could not fathom. She stretched her limbs and wings before taking off into the sky towards the fighting duo. What in the world…? El had never seen this dragon before, and has certainly never seen the larger bird before. So that's what you look like... Hm, you're not quite as vile-looking as I thought you'd be, she thought, crouching down and lowering her head. She continued to send out the inaudible clicks to survey her surroundings. The clicks were high-pitched enough so that only she could hear them. Creatures that could would realize they were being observed, if they knew what echolocation was. Ecco crept forward, moving to the side and getting just a little closer to the dark elf. She wanted to observe her foe a bit longer before moving in for the attack. First she would see how this form did against the elf, and then possibly transfigure into her own elf body. She had a plan, all she needed was one nick with her dagger, and then it would be all over. Just one cut. She silently walked through the brush, hunting for the dragon, hoping to catch the larger creature unawares, then, poison it with one stab, then away she could go, and wait for it to die. She walked some more, stopping ever so often to make sure that it was not behind her with her mind. She continued to sarch about, until she found two different consciences with her mind. She immediately altered her plan to account for the next stab. She would stab the first dragon the had attacked first since she knew that it had some special powers. Then, she would use her time attacking the next dragon. She was as swift as any other elf, it should not be so hard to dodge a few attacks and get a good stab in on the other dragon. She came to the edge of the forest and leapt out at the dragons. She swiftly ran over the open ground, knife out, ready for a fatal cut, heading straight for the first dragon. From the elf’s eyes, El could tell that she had something planned, a possible attack on Ecco. She watched as the younger dragon breathed out a darkened flame at their enemy, and wondered curiosly why she possessed a power like this. Ecco did not think any more about it, and closed her eyes, the blueish sheen coming to the leading edges of her wings. She flared them and rose them up sharply, and a wall of ice rose from the ground. It would buy her enough time. Ecco opened her eyes and concentrated on the space in front of her, where a light surrounded by ribbonlike colors appeared and moved toward her. It encased her face, and the entire dragoness's body was transformed into light. The light swept out in tiny points, and coelesced again in the center to form the body of an elf. The light faded, revealing Ecco in her smaller body. She dodged it by using her magic to cause the air between them to blow Circe away from the two dragons, it was then that she saw the elf. She shreiked angrily and casted a long, complecated spell, immediately, a powerful gust of wind was hurled at her two enemies. But she couldn’t concentrate on that now. The two elves were now going head-to-head, and it appeared that the other elf was not going to let them get away so easily. When a gale began to brew, El landed on the ground and dug her claws into the ground so as to avoid being swept away by the wind. YOUR island? I beg your pardon, but I have never seen you around here in my years of living on Illium. I have traveled all over and your presence has never surprised me. Tell me, why is it you are here? Don’t you know of the curse placed in the middle? If you go anywhere near it, you will die! Why would you want to make your home here? El didn’t want to fight this elf, for it was clear she was merely being territorial and not evil. But El had to make her presence here known, and this elf wasn’t going to drive her out of the place she had been living in for a little over 200 years. She wasn't quick enough, though, and was blown back into the trunk, hard. She hit it and winced in pain when the wind died, drawing away from the tree and rubbing her back as she watched the other elf. She murmured a few words, and the pines next to the dark elf bent forward until their branches formed a wall in front of her. Ecco coated them with ice to make them harder to break. She rubbed her back again, and then stared at Elcyon when the dragon tried to get rid of the elf peacefully. Hmph. This magic is a protected barrier provided by a Sea Nymph, an immortal, just like you! How can you play with nature? This was to protect the tree and everything living on the island! But you are right that we shouldn't let her even try; she could hurt someone else too, she said, her deep blue eyes narrowing. Ecco sprang into the pines, drawing her daggers and swerving around the thick trunks of old trees. A powerful feeling of natural magic, one she was familiar with, swept over her. The curse could not be far away, as the dragon had said. Ecco skidded to a halt when she felt the magic darken. She saw it ahead; a large tree in the center of a clearing. Sickening waves of magic pulsed from it. The elf knew she could not continue much farther. Where was the evil one, though? She casted spell after spell in one continueous chant toward the tree, hopimg to find a weakness in the curse that would allow her to hopefully control it. She was having little luck, but eventually she would succeed. She knew she would, but the more she chanted, the more doubt began to build in her mind. However, she was not one to give up, and she knew she had to succeed. The curse itself would find a way to destroy any threat meaning to harm the tree, which meant that whatever the dark elf was doing, at that point, would eventuall kill her or send back the force of magic the elf forced away from the tree. Not only that, but the destruction of the magic would kill more living things anywhere near the area. With a swoop, El flicked her tail from the side to hit the elf away from the tree, at least hoping to distract her from the chanting. El couldn't let the elf take hold of the magic, no matter what the cost. She felt it was her duty to protect the tree that had originally provided her egg shelter, which eventually led to her shadowed destiny that day. Ecco rushed forward, daggers pointed backward in her hands as she darted toward where her opponent now was. She jumped on top of a fallen log, half-crouching as she watched the evil elf. A blue sheen was just starting to form on her hands, revealing itself by the blueish sparkle on her skin. She knew that with her concentration broken, she would likely never be able to manipulate the magic, so she drew her long dagger and prepaired to fight both with magic, as well as her poisoned weapon. She casted a small spell and hurled a small rock at the black dragoness, she was angry because while the black dragoness had missed her, she was so close that the wind knocked her head-over-tail onto the dirt behind her. Her daggers were held up and ready. Elcyon was facing the evil elf, ready to attack once more. The elf had decided that when she saw the right opportunity, she would attack. Hopefully, her dragoness friend could weaken their enemy, so that she could get an even better chance to attack. She waited, watching as El flew away again for another strike. She decided that when the dragoness finished her attack, she would move in. She knew that not every spell she could create would drive the dragon away long enough for her to find the spell needed to bend the power of the curse to her will, but what spell to use? She thought about it, and the more she did, the happier she got. She looked at the tree evily and cast a powerful spell upon it. The tree itself began to thrash about, as if trying to get something off of it. It began to swing its large limbs at the black dragoness when ever she came close enough to it, and then Circe fell to the ground, the energy taking its toll upon her and causing some serious damage. However, she was able to crawl toward the tree, closer and closer she got, the more power she felt from the curse. As she crawled, she began to chant, and as she chanted, she became more and more confident in herself. _________________ Role-Playing Characters: Ara The dragon of illusion. She had tried to consolt with the elf, and even used her some physical attack just to defend the tree. Now she had to push aside her feelings on fighting and actually do it. El propeled herself through the branches as the tree attempted to attack El whenever she strayed too close, and as the elf chanted, El had managed to sink her teeth into the material of the elf's shirt and fly away with the elf dangling in her jaws. El was quick about it, and flew low, so that way if the elf were to pull out her poisonous weapon, El would be able to drop her to the ground without injury. You need to stop this, El growled feriousously. This magic has got to stop, and I mean now. The curse will kill you, even if you manage to pull it out of the tree somehow. This kind of natural magic was not a part of her skill, and too powerful for her to intervene in anyway. Suddenly, Elcyon swooped down and snatched the elf. The look of desperation in the dragon's eyes told Ecco all she needed to know: the elf was meddling in something far too powerful for herself, which could end up harming everything on the island possibly. However, she did not yet know why the dragoness felt such a connection to the tree to feel so responsible for it. At least, by the look in El's eyes, Ecco assumed she felt responsible. As these thoughts and more raced through her mind, Ecco was already running, chasing after Elcyon and the elf with amazing speed. She was quick in the forest, and able to stay just behind her new friend. Then, with a burst of speed, Circe made her way towards El with the dagger fully at hand. El managed to fly out of the way, in order to keep herself from being poisoned. Then she made another loop before flying quickly towards the tree again, so that in case the evil elf decided to come try and control the magic of the tree again. Suddenly, the evil elf ripped away from Elcyon's grasp and fell to the ground, though she was up again and chasing after the dragon with her poisoned dagger. Ecco picked up her speed until she was only a little ways behind her opponent. In one swift movement, she leaped forward and tackled the elf, knocking away the poisoned dagger and rolling away. She jumped up from her roll, now separating the elf from her dagger, and holding her own weapons tightly in hand. Like I said, I don't think it's wise to interfere in the nature of this island. She pulled herself to her feet and began to circle the other elf, slightly angry at the fact of being attacked from behind. She circld slowly then took her chance. She hissed and leapt upon the other elf, knocking her to the ground, and then breakign free of the other elf and making a mad dash for her blade. She would not stand much chance at fighting unless she had her dagger, for it was all she had ever used to fight with in her elf form. The elf was obviously not going to give up the idea of using the curse from the tree, nor attempting to kill her or Ecco. She watched, anxiously, as Circe made a dash for her knife. El fired a shadow ball in between the elf and her dagger so she would not be able to retrieve it. El swooped down and picked up the handle of the dagger, careful to keep the actual blade away from her scales. Ecco, do you have a knowledge of weapons? she asked her in private-speak as she made another loop, circling the two elves kind of low. She sprang up again immediately and formed a sheen of ice on the ground so that the other elf would slip when Elcyon swooped down to carefully retrieve the dagger. The dragoness flew away with it in her clutch, and Ecco resumed her fighting stance. I don't know exactly how to destroy such a weapon, Elcyon, but I'm sure it can be done. However, with her powers, this elf could probably create another one. They had foiled her attemps at "playing nice" and she was fed up. She focused upon the two and casted a powerful spell, one that was more mental than physical. The spell began to creat illusions of herself, and although they were harmless, they all looked exactly like she did. In each of their hands was a green dagger, exactly like her own. She also cast a spell to make herself to look as if she had a dagger. She pulled herself up off of the ice, as well as away from the place where the black fore had scorched the earth. She smiled and in unison the other "Circes" said, "You have made a grave mistake. You took my weapon, well, my physical one. You will regret that. For it was the quickest way for you to die!" said the elf as they all dashed into the surrounding bush, only to leap out and 'attack' the other two. We ought to chase her away in the temporary defeat as you have suggested... As the evil elf made her ascent towards El, El tried to make it so that she was dodging the elf's attacks, only because she was nervous if the blades were poisonous as well. There were numerous plans that were sifting through her head, all of them involving the destruction of this hazerdous dagger that hung in El's mouth. They don't, however. Btw, how is Circe going to sneak up on Elcyon if she's flying? Circe isn't in roc form. IC: Ecco watched as the evil elf got up, and created a magic illusion that there were more of her. However, the shapeshifter wasn't fooled. Only one of the images had a mind, and that one was moving away toward where Elcyon had flown. Ecco snapped one of her daggers back into its sheath at her belt, and rose her hand. She drew it to the side and waved it across her front, sending small needles of ice outwards and straight toward the illusory elves. Seeing that they were all, indeed, unreal, she turned and started heading after the black dragoness and the real one. IC: Circe cursed as her attacks were once more foiled. She needed her blade, however, she would, at least for now be unable to retrieve it. She changed tactics and began to flee away toward the sea, however, she stopped as a sharp steel blade pricked her neck and held her there. The wielder of the blade, a large man with a black cloak, as well as blood red hair and deathly pallid skin smiled and said, "Get her on the boad, Galbatorix will want to meet her. You, go get the other elf, and use the nets to catch that dragoness." said the shade as he followed the elf to the boat. He smiled as the some fifty soldiers ran through the forest toward the dragoness and elf, the magically enhanced nets in their hands, he had done well, all three of them in one fail swoop. He would be well rewarded... Now that I actually have internet that works and I'm out of college I can have time. And of course...heh heh but El won't go down so easily! >:D rofl. IC: El had managed to get a better hold on the blade, however she noticed Circe began to run for the edge of the sea. She knew this was her chance to make an attack while the elf had her back turned. Though as she drew near, she noticed someone in a black shroud, his hair red like crimson held his sword out towards Circe. She was forced to board a boat that who knew what it led to. At once she realized her terrible mistake. She was out of cover, and she had heard the man speak of her capture. El attempted to turn around but a huge, heavy metal net was thrown onto her by soldiers in the air that arrived on the backs of a couple other dragons. She let out a loud, angry roar as the net brought her to the ground. The weapon had loosened from her grip and she had let it go. It stuck into the sand, it's poison injecting into the sands. El struggled and fought, biting at the chains and breathing fire into the air, furious at such an easy capture. The metals in the net were obviously made of magic, for they did not melt under her intense fire. Ecco! Get out of here! El screeched in private-speak. It's a trap! IC: Ecco raced forward, intent on going after Circe. She sent dagger-sharp shards of ice at any of the fake elves that came at her. Not being able to sense their minds made it harder to anticipate where they would be, but Ecco was observant and had good instincts, which saved her from ambush or surprise attack (though she had a few close calls). Before she reached the edge of the trees, she heard Elcyon's mental cry. She peered beyond the trees and saw the dragoness being captured, a heavy net tangled around her. Circe was being brought onto an Empire boat. Ecco considered for a moment shapeshifting into a dragon, but decided against it. Right now, the best way to rescue Elcyon (which she was intent on doing) was by letting herself be captured and saving her transformation for when it would do the most good. Instead, she decided on partial transformation. When in dragon and dolphin form, her clothing and daggers were absorbed magically into her body. She unsheathed each of her daggers and held them against her upper arms, willing them to dissolve into thousands of pinpoints of magical light. The light particles accumulated on her skin and were slowly absorbed into it, disappearing from view. Ecco snatched up a large stick from the ground and ran out of the trees. Her supposed capturers were entering the forest in another direction, and she managed to catch them off guard, getting in some nice attacks with her improvised weapon. The stick was heavy and strong, and she managed to knock two of the men unconscious before they got the net on her. She couldn't let it look like this was planned, though. She used some magic to send ice shards and rocks at the guards, but most were deflected by their wards. They overpowered her and began dragging her towards Elcyon and the ship. Sorry, El, but I can't let you be captured alone.
