my favorite book ever.... difficult to say. 1984 was good. so was Eragon, but you guessed that already. The Lord of the Rings was fantastic. so were the Dragonriders of Pern. but my favorite.... I couldn't tell you if my life depended on it.

There are just too many good books out there to name one!

after reading hundreds of books i cant decide without hurting the feelings of one or the other!! and i-luv-saphira, i dont think iluvsaphira had seen your name, he just thot it was a good name, not that you seem to care tho, sooo....

lol. indeed, it doesn't matter a whole lot to me. There can be multiple Saphira lovers, but only one puts a big smiley face after Saphira's name: me. that unofficially makes me the biggest Saphira fan.

Eragon is my favorite but I really liked Prisoner of Azkaban too. So its a tie

I have loads of faves but the ones that come to mind now are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows(lol love it!) The inheritence Trilogy(im not sure i would be on this forum if i didn't!) Temiraire series, and his dark materials. There are kinda a lot of books here but i can't choose my favourite out of them!!

Lol, why is this thread even going? If your answer isn't immediately Eragon, then why are you here? Nah I kid, I've read plenty of books and out of all I think I couldn't say. I like this and that but a favorite? I just couldn't choose.

I can't pick a favorite, I don't want to hurt the other books feelings lol. These are some of my faves in no particular order
The Underland Chronicles, especially #2 and 4
Inheritance Trilogy
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, didn't really like #3 cause it didn't have Annabeth and Thalia is a butthead
uh can't think of any others right now...

I used to think Inheritance Trilogy was my favorite, but then of course I started analyzing it and realized that it had a lot of flaws. (I still like it, don't get me wrong).

Anyway, in no particular order:

I absolutely loved Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but I really liked Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Ok, sorry for getting off topic, but is The Lightning Thief the one with the Greek gods like Zues and stuff? I was just wanting to know if these books were any good.

Definately the inheritance cycle. Harry potter is ok but its a bit childish for me.

How is the HP series childish? Like half the characters die. LOL.

Ok, well I'm glad to hear that The Lightning Thief was good, because I bought it and once I finish The Amber Spyglass, then I'll read it.

oooh its a hard one.. i love the demonata but i also love rangers apprentice and harry potter and the inheritance trilogy.. so its like a tie

I have read hundreds of good books. (Not to mention hundreds of terrible books!) There have been many that stick out as amazing and astounding and remarkable and any other great adjective you can think of. However, one book stands out above the rest. My favorite book to date is actually not a Fantasy novel...wierd huh?!?! It is called My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. It is an amazingly emotional story about a girl with Lieukemia and her sister who was "created" as an organ and tissue donar to save her life. I can't even begin to describe the book to give it justice. Just read it! Everything by Jodi Picoult is amazing.

PS: for some reason, the second book that sticks out in my mind is Pride and Prejudice. I don't know why, but there you have it!

Ok, I am currently reading The Lightning Thief and I LOVE it! I don't like it as much as Harry Potter but it is on the top ten!

i would def have to say i used to think that harry potter was the best book ever but now that i have read twilight and new moon by stephanie meyer that is def now my fav books for sure i mean how can u not LOVE edward hmm yeah i just still waiting to get my next book I LOVE EDWARD

Ok, I have finished The Lightning Thief and I love it! I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes the Harry Potter series.

jeez this is a tough one. my all time favorite stand alone book is Villians by Necessity by eve forward. I also LOVE the Malazan Book of the Fallen especially house of chains; also The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. there are so many others but thats the top 3

I don't know about yall, but I thought that Brisingr was very good. So, it's in my top 10 favorite books.

I really hate to say it but there is ONE book that tops the RA series *Bows to RA* RA is my favourite, as a series. But as far as standalone books go I like The Seer and the Sword by...oh shoot...something Hanely...Bugga I don't remember who her first name is! VICTORIA! Victoria Hanely! She's great ^?^
