I just had a though- you remember when Angela told Eragon's future with those dragon knuckle bones? Maybe they were Glaedr's? That would kind of fit... They were really big, Glaedr is really big, there were only technically 3 dragons left at that time, so she probably wouldn't have been able to find knuckle bones anywhere else, and Glaedr only has 3 legs lol. Just a weird thought.

They have four forearms that they walk on and two of them is their front forearms.

They do walk on all four arms but they have two front ones which are called their forearms. I don't think they're supposed to stand up on two legs.

Back on topic... What would she use to cut the fingers off with? because dragon bone is pretty strong... or even to make the symbols on them?

ok i have a ? when eragon first saw glaedr he said that his foreleg was gone and instead was a WHITE stump so does this mean that dragons skin is white and its their scales that have the color?but in scattered nest and broken egg(i think thats the name of the chapter)it said eragon saw clear scales...maybe they lose their color when they dis attach? or do they have no color?but that would make all dragons white....ok i just confused myself

I think that under the scales they have white skin or something of that matter. And that Glaedr just wasn't able to grow more scales.

whered that coime from?!lol he has two eyes i presume else hen couldnt hunt aswell bhut lol ud have to etch the runes in with either steel diamond or dragon bone but it would be 1 of the first two im guessing...diamond is harder than steel...and steel can probobly cut very thin and shallow marks into a bone so yeah i small diamomnd or some sharp steel would probobly do the job(rem,ember the runes arent CARVED in theyre just faintly etched on teh surface...nmot that hard to do even if it is dragon bone)

Remember Angela when she told Eragon his fate?Did anyone think of that as apalling? I thought that he shouldn't have known his fate ,only because it could tear him apart ( noone wants that to happen ,right?) and that werecat , he didnt' even understand what he meant. and in the movie did they show angela telling eragon his fate? and i really am wondering what those darned dragon knucklebones are looking like. wouldn't it be amazing to see them? i think it would.

PS: How big could those knucklebones have possibly been? what about the runes inscribed into them?

Umm... did anybody think that Angela could have cut the bones with magic? She is a sorcerer or something like that. As for her old age, maybe, like Brom, she was also a dragon rider (I know, far-fetched). Who knows.

yeah, arya2. she probably used some type of potion to soften the bone and then she cut it.



and it's not even necessarily glaedr's. angela's older than she appears, more mysterious......she could've been live before the forsworn were even formed. who knows?

i doubt they are still alive because if they had been they would have been eragon's first teachers, not his second; oromis would have told eragon about it; and there is no record that the first dragon was ever maimed.

yeah sj but no one might know so he could have found a lost map and went back everyone might think they are dead but i think they are in the elvs homeland which is the same as the humans homeland and that is whare Eragon and saphira are going to leave to

well i doubt they've lived that long. even though riders have near infinite lives, it's still a long time. And if the characters in the book aren't even allowed to pronounce the first dragon's name, why would they be allowed to take his knuckles?

I'm not sure it would be Glaedr's because if you remember correctly Angela knows where the elves are and has visited them before so she may know where dragons had battles and died at and recovered them from the battlefields. Glaedr had taught Eragon and Saphira where some of these locations where so she may have had knowledge about them. Besides theres more to Angela then we know, if you remember she once say was older then she looked so it makes me think she is either part elf or maybe even had a dragon of her own.(just a thought) but i think she is older then most humans. so she could have gained the knuckles way before Glaedr even lost his leg. just a thought.
