Alec is an expert swordsman. Usually when he faces an opponent in hand to handcombat he will prevail because of the techniques he uses. He uses complex maneuvers to throw his opponents off guard, and just when they think they know the patterns he uses he will switch to a completely different one in midblow. This effectively throws his opponents into confusion allowing him to bat past their defenses and gain the victory.

Dagger fighting
Alec also uses daggers to fight. He normally uses the same maneuvers for a sword but in a much faster version. Sometimes, however, he will switch to a completely different fighting style of fighting. This catches his opponents off guard allowing him to defeat them.

Knife throwing
Alec also is a wonderful aim when it comes to knives. In close combat his thin throwing knives never miss and at long range they are as fast as lightning (not literally of course).

Mindbreaking
Alec is not a magician, but he was taught how to fight with his mind…
what Eragon called a mind breaker. He is not exceptionally strong at this skill, but his Strength is continually growing. However, although he may not be strong with mind, he can easily confuse an opponent, making it easier for him to break minds.

Character Personality: Alec is serious and stern. He enjoys a good joke now and again, but he does not like to waste time. He views his life, and the lives of those he cares about as the most important things in his life, and sees protecting them as his highest priority. He lives to avenge his parents, find any family that he has left, and bring down Galbatorix. He is a fierce fighter, but is also very merciful, though not to his enemies. He enjoys being in the company of other warriors. In battle, he almost loses control over himself as the thirst for blood takes control of him. He is open to new ideas but likes sticking to his own. From experience, he knows not to trust anyone unless they have proven themselves so he sticks to this policy. He is compassionate and does not enjoy the suffering of others. He has a high sense of honor, and if his integrity is challenged he becomes a dangerous foe. He has learned that being rash is not wise, so he keeps away from that path. He has a sense of caution and will not do anything without considering the consequences. Despite his fierce nature however, he is calm and composed, and has learned to hide his emotions.

Character History: Alec was born in the Hadarac dessert to his two unknown parents. For the first five years of his life he lived in peace, but it would not last. One night bandits attacked his village, killing his parents and many other people, and taking the rest captive. Somehow, the villains missed Alec, as well as a very old elf. The elf found Alec and took care of him. When Alec was old enough, the elf told him the story of what happened to his parents and Alec vowed to avenge his parents, and to save any captives who were still alive. However, he was not ready. He found two daggers and a sword, and trained long and hard with them. The old elf warned him not to exhaust himself, but Alec ignored him. A blind rage drove him to unimaginable lengths to train for the mission which he would undertake. He hardly slept or ate, devoting his time to the training he had started. The elf continued to warn him, and Alec continued ignoring, until one day, his rash behavior caught up with him. Completely exhausted, he fell to the ground and passed out. He awoke two days later, but the elf was nowhere in sight. Alec found food and water by his bedside, and he ate. Going outside, he found the elf throwing knives. The expertise that the elf demonstrated amazed Alec, so he asked the elf to teach him. The elf agreed on one condition; Alec would not exhaust himself or get carried away in his training anymore. Alec readily agreed and thus, his apprenticeship began. He trained long and hard, but always listened to the elf’s warnings. Finally, Alec surpassed his teacher. After ten long years of training with sword, dagger, and knife, he was ready to undertake his mission. The old elf supplied him with ten throwing knives – the elf’s personal weapons - and the elf also gave him a beautiful sword, and two wonderful fighting daggers. Alec was ready to set out on his mission, but the elf advised that they should first travel to Du Welden Varden. He agreed. The old elf dug out a map from his belongings and the journey began. Somehow, both of them made it to the forest alive. The old elf entered the woodland, but Alec decided to start the search for his parents, so he struck out for the empire. Avoiding soldiers was not easy, but he managed to keep himself hidden. Unfortunately, he could not avoid one group of soldiers. He fought like a crazed lion, but they captured him, and brought him before Galbatorix. The king, who could not rip the oath of loyalty from his throat, threw him into the dungeon knowing that a half-elf prisoner was valuable. However, Alec was in the same cell as a magician. Galbatorix had somehow overlooked this. The elf could not use his magic, as Galbatorix had put a spell over him so that he could not. However, he could teach others. Alec would not be able to use magic, but he could become a mind-breaker. So started another year of training. Alec learned quickly and soon his ability would aid him to escape. Immediately when his training ended; as if Galbatorix new that he had been training and the training was now over; the guards took the magician before Galbatorix, and he was slain. When the guards came to take Alec, he broke their minds and made them release him. He then made his escape, but not before having one of his arms filled with arrows, and nearly hewn off. He managed to pirate a horse and, somehow, make it to Surda. The Surdan magicians were barely able to keep him alive, but they did, as well as healing his arm. Alec stayed in Surda for six years, in which he found out about the islands of Alagaisia – something he had never heard about. He determined to go to the mysterious islands, but later in his life. Instead, he decided to set out for Du Welden Varden. However, he had to go through the Empire to do this. Alec made the decision to hide in the Empire for at least one year to find anything he could about his parents no matter how risky it was. He moved quietly from city to city finding nothing about his parents. Finally, he came to Uru’baen. He had been in the Empire for exactly one year and he was thirty three years old. He would go to the elven woods. However, Uru’baen was in his way, and going through the dark city was not an option. He decided to go through Dras’leona. When he reached the city, he found a lead on his parents. Instead of traveling to the forest, Alec stayed in the city finding out what he could about his family. He was thirty four and about to travel to Du Welden Varden when something strange happened in Dras’leona.

Weapons:
Sword:
Alec’s sword is three feet long. It is black with many strange markings running up and down the marvelous blade. It is extremely sharp and very thin, so much so, that the whistle which comes from the blade can almost break glass. However it is made out of a strange material that will not allow it to break. The handle has a strange rune branded into the black leather that is rapped around it. The hilt on the sword is also made out of strange material that almost glows, even though it is black as midnight.

Daggers:
The daggers are almost miniature copies of the three foot long sword. Measuring at one and a half feet, each dagger is completely black. The same runes run up the blade of each, but a different rune is branded into the leather on the handle. The only difference between the sword and the daggers is the runes, and the lack of hilts on the daggers.

Throwing Knives:
The knives are exactly alive. They are half a foot long, and are made out of a silver, brightsteel mix. They are thin enough to slip between ribs, but are sharp enough to pierce even the strongest armor. It appears that a spell was recited over them when they were made, for they never break or get scratched even though they are not made out of pure brightsteel.

Likes: Justice. His friends. Life. The thought of seeing any of his family again.

Dislikes: Evil. His parent’s murderers (there should be a hate section here). Galbatorix.

Animal Companions: None.

Character's Physical Description: Alec is thin but strongly built and agile. He is muscular and strong with piercing blue eyes and long raggedy locks of dusty brown hair which frame his strong features. He carries the faintest hint of a beard and has a long scar running up one of his cheeks. One of his arms is covered in ugly scars, and a long one runs up his chest. He is about six foot. He wears a short sleeved black tunic as well as a black pair of pants with a loose fitting belt holding his two fighting daggers and four of his throwing knives. Over this he wears a long short sleeved cloak with a sheath strapped across his back holding his thin three foot long blade. He wears a pair of black boots into which are thrust two of his throwing knives. Two more are strapped across his chest. He wears a vambrace on each bare arm. The vambraces are specially designed to hold his final two throwing knives. He also wears a pair of black gloves which cover his scarred hands.

Dreams for the Future: To find any remainder of his family and to punish his parent’s murderers.

Reason for Dreams: He is constantly tortured by the thought of any remaining family, because if there is anyone left they will be held captive by the ones who killed his parents. He wants vengeance for his parents.

Alignment/side: He serves only himself and those he cares only about.

I like it. Interesting history, this could make him an interesting person to RP with.
