this is just my conclusion but i think Arya and Nausda are the ones on the shore and Eragon and Saphire are the ones who leave in search for more dragons like Eragon promised saphire in "Eldest" that when it was all over He would help her find more dragons.

I doubt he will be able to keep all. Maybe searching for dragons involves crossing Hadarac desert. But back on topic, it is probably Eragon and some Arya, as he didnt know her then, and he hadnt changed yet, boarding the ship.

i reckon it is arya and eragon walking on the boat murtagh on the shore and saphira and the dragon fron the last egg in the sky seems a lot more logical

if they're looking for dragons they should go to the hadarac desert because that's where dragons are from

back on subject, i think that the two going on the ship is Eragon and Arya. The one left on shore is the first Eragon who has to go back in time to start the dragon riders. the dragons in the air are Saphira and the green dragon, whose rider will be Arya.

that bold part does not make any sense how in the world could the first Eregon go back in time if he is already dead and how could he restart the riders if he went back in time... Can you tell me what you mean by all of this

The HAdarac desert is the dragon's acesteral land, but THERE AREN'T ANY DRAGONS EXCEPT FOR SAPHIRA, TE GREEN DRAGON, GLAEDR, SHRUIKAN, AND THORN!!! What part of they're the only dragons left don't you get!!! (someone posted a while ago that there might be some dragons still in the hadarac desert)

I definitely agree with you. It makes the most sense and plus with all that has happened and the clues and how the story has unfolded it would be the most obvious and logical choice here. CP does like to make twists in his books but certain things he writes on purpose to foreshawdow what will happen later...such as this. To me this makes the most sense and it's what I think will most likely happen, with the characters and dragons.

What are you talking about! He would have his whole land, his people, and everything else to live for. Yes he would be losing another family member, that is quite obvious, but I think he would be fine, move on with his life whether or not Katrina is dead. He is a strong man and intelligent...I don't think if one person dies or many and another person leaves it wwould make him feel like the world is coming to an end or something. I think he would most likely make a great leader of some sort, perhaps in an army or something. He would have everything to live for even if he still lost a couple of people.

The only 2 thins he has to live for are Eragon and Katrina. If Katrina dies and Eragon leaves forever, what does he have left to live for???

Like I have stated in the post above...he has so much more to live for...Alagaesia, Nasuada if she takes the throne and rules, His people, so much to live for.

I heard from someone that he thinks that the person left dehind is Eragon the first, and the two people on the boat is Eragon and Arya, and Eragon the first is the son of eragon and arya, and the reason he's crying is becuse he has to travel back in time and not see his family again for a long time, he takes his dragon and they go live in the spine, that's why Eragon was never harmed in the spine, and the villagers from the carvahall had safe passage through the spine, and one of Galbatorix's entire armies dissapeard in the spine. In the book it never says what happend to Eragon the first.

Those are all really good possibillities, I don't know wich to choose, I would think it most likely to be roran...... I just got a random thought, what if there is no new dragon rider, but instead Eragon the 1st has a green dragon, and helps, that's a really logical explanation, and then they don't even have to train somebody new. But it's just a random thought don't take it to heart. I might be mistaken but I don't tink it ever says the color of his dragon.

Eragon the 1st was not 1/2 elf. and there is no time travel. Besides, he had a white dragon.

I interpreted it as this: Murtagh and Nasuada are boarding the ship with Eragon and Arya riding on the two dragons in the sky with Roran on shore crying because he can't go because he is king and as king he cannot leave the land he must rule.
