Ok, Murtagh loves nasuada, and becuase of this, I think I know how he might die... At the end, he will probably be faced with the choice of killing nasuada, leader of the varden, maybe galby orders him to kill her, he will hesitate and the either nasuada will kill him at that point or eragon will... What do you think? If you dont remember him liking nasuada, go back to eragon book where eragon goes to visit murtagh in his cell.
Oh and one last thing that is bothering me, how come saphira didnt hatch for 9 days after eragon found the egg? Was it difficult for her to decide that eragon was the one? It should have hatched immediatly becuase children paraded past it, so it would have had to hatch fast...

Hmm, that's one of things that bothered me, the eggs hatching. I can't figure out how, if Eragon's took several days to hatch, how the other candidates knew which dragon had hatched for who.
Murtagh: Personally, I hope Murtagh will defy Galbatorix in whatever small way he's able to to help Eragon, and Galbatorix kills Thorn in revenge. Leaving Murtagh alive but utterly alone.

Nine days? I counted it up to at least a little over a month.... I don't remember where I found all that though, must have done some serious mis counting. Somebody needs to go back to first grade. *coughmecough*

I dunno, seems to me like that would be the logical explanation, but the book (can't remember which one) said that the keepers of the egg (Arya and friends) would wait at each place they stopped to see if the egg would hatch. But they never specified for how long they waited.

They probably just walked by it and touched it. That's kind of what they do to the eggs in Dragonriders of Pern. The candidates go visit the eggs and touch them and stuff so they don't freak out and get hurt when the dragons start to hatch. 'Cept I don't think that the candidates in this story would freak.

What about the murtagh idea?

I don't know if you guys remember, but I do remember Saphira telling Eragon that she didn't hatch for so long because it wasn't the right time. So, I think she did know Eragon was the right one, just that with events happeneing the way they were, she didn't want to hatch outright for him. Besides, if she had hatched in the beginning, he probably would have shown her to a lot of people, right? Who knows what trouble that would have caused...

Ah I see... hmm, I think that could be a likely event. Though maybe not. I don't know, because Nasuada doesn't know magic. And even if Murtagh didn't want to kill her, he could still deflect her attacks with his magic right? I have no clue... you could be right.

I was thinking Galby kills Thorn when Murtagh tries to rebel. The books says that a rider CAN live on after the dragon dies, though most DON'T. That looks like a clue.

Murtagh can't rebel, he's bound by the ancient language remember? And I about the dying theory, I want to change it a bit.

Galby sends Murtagh to assasinate Nasuada b/c she was getting too powerful as head of the Varden, so Murtagh goes and finds her asleep. She wakes up when he is about to kill her. Murtagh can't do it and kills himself instead.

Dumb theory but..........meh........

What if...Thorn is killed by someone, mabye Galby, and Murtagh ends up getting himself killed from the after effects?
