OOC: My first dragon charry.

I doubt I'll be making much (if any) more characters after this one.

Name ~ Aranos.

Age ~ 798 years old.

Gender ~ Male.

Skills:
Lavafire ~ A fire unique to him and his kin. Lavafire is always a deep orange and red in color with yellow lines streaming through the flames. He can manipulate the lavafire he spurts as a ball of it, a stream, or multiple splashes of it. Lavafire is generally more powerful than regular dragon fire, and thus he uses it more. Unlike dragon fire, though, which is natural, lavafire has a slow and gradual drain on Aranos's energy. Lavafire is extremely hot, easily able to produce burns much more severe than the average dragon's fire.

Eruption ~ He charges up a massive amount of lava and shoots it up in the sky. The lava scatters into multiple pieces and falls to the ground, incinerating whatever it touches. This attack is more suited to use against multiple opponents, so it's extremely unlikely that he'd ever use it against a single opponent. It uses a fair amount of energy as well.

Combat Abilities ~ Lava Dragons were especially known for their ferocity in combat. While they lack the speed of most of the faster dragons, their agility and strength make them a terror in the skies. There are spikes on his tail that make it practically like a giant, spiked mace. He almost has a sort of sixth sense when it comes to danger.

Elemental Magic ~ Aranos has no affliation with even the smallest bit of wild magic, but he can use a different form of magic. This magic specializes in the manipulation of elements, and it uses less energy than the Ancient Language. Elemental Magic is essentially based on maintaining a connection of heart, soul, and mind to the elements. Even the slightest faltering in concentration or use of Elemental Magic can result in a break of the spell. Therefore, Aranos has been trained to remain calm in most situations and think rationally to enable him easier access to this magic. Aranos's capabilities with Elemental Magic is limited, though he can call on the elements willingly.

Race ~ Lava Dragon

Scales ~ Similar to his fire, Aranos is a deep red orange color with yellow lines streaming through. In simpler terms, most will refer to him as a dark-orange.

Eyes ~ An icy blue.

Home Village ~ Alalea.

Parents ~ Guarg (father) and Illina (mother).

Siblings ~ None.

Character Personality ~ Aranos is the kind of dragon that, if he thinks the need is great, will take his own stand in justice and rights. He usually deals with injustice through harshly, and he never really gets that angry, although he can get frustrated a plentiful amount of times. Despite this, though, he is a very wise dragon. Aranos sometimes considers himself a hermit as he remains slightly introverted, seeking to gain knowledge on his own. He has a special kindness that he reserves for hatchlings and friends (both of which he rarely meets though). For the most part, he is caring and kind, though at times he may take a fiery nature that is common among his kind. It is very rare for him to acknowledge someone to be of higher status than him because, while everyone is different, he considers all beings equal. Now that he's in unfamiliar territory, he's almost always been a little nervous. Within the last year, he's been doing everything he can to get acquainted with the area, but Alagaesia has far too many mysteries for him to be comfortable. He loves traveling, however. Although he commonly likes to spar with others, he hates war because of how it has transformed his homeland into a bitter place. In fact, he doesn't really care for unfriendly violence in any way, shape, or form. Though he has accepted that it happens in life and must be dealt with before it can escalate.

Character History ~ Aranos was born among a proud tribe in Alalea about a couple centuries shy of a millennium ago. The elves had already migrated to Alagaesia, which left the land of Alalea in turmoil. Humans that lived there were starting a civil war, and a new age was coming. One of darkness, mistrust, and most of all, evil. There were lies and treachery even in the ranks of the dragons. Eventually, the dragons themselves were fighting amongst each other, and now there was no one to speak sense to them. Aranos's parents, the leaders of the tribe of Lava Dragons, were sent to battles along with other Lava Dragons. Aranos was left with the other Lava Dragons under the age of five, and that was when they all came.

Dragons as black as night stopped by the extremely large cave Aranos and his kin were gathered in. For no real reason, they two groups of dragons began to attack each other. Aranos, unfortunately, was forced to fight the leader who, at the time, was much bigger than him. Aranos didn't stand much of a chance and was knocked into the ground time and time again in the endless struggle.

"Why are you all doing this?" Aranos roared, though it was more of a whimper. He was scared, scared of what may become of him and the younglings of his tribe.

The leader explained how him and his tribe were the masterminds of the war between dragons. That they had started this all so that the dragons would fight each other and thus leave themselves vulnerable. Therefore, the dragons wouldn't be able to stop the Shadow Tribe (that's what the black dragons were called) from taking over the land and implementing themselves as the kings of Alalea.

The Shadow Tribe continued to slaughter the young ones of the Lava Dragons, though Aranos had surprisingly made it out alive. He immediately began to search for his parents. He found them in a few months and informed them of what had happened, confirming what had happened by showing his parents the mental images of what had happened. Aranos's parents and the rest of the remaining Lava Dragons had called a truce with the other dragons and spoke to them of these concerning matters. It took lots of persuading and a couple of years, but miraculously, they had managed to persuade the other dragons to form an alliance against the Shadow Tribe.

Real war had finally started. The Shadow Tribe had originally thought that the Lava Dragons wouldn't be able to persuade the other tribes of their actions, so they were surprised when the other dragons declared war. However, what was done was done, and The Free Dragon Alliance was still injured from previous fighting, so even they could hardly hold their own against the Shadow Tribe. The war lasted for hundreds of years, but the Shadow Tribe's success was imminent.

Convinced of their inevitable failure, the Free Dragon Alliance had ordered the rest of the young dragons off the island while they stayed and fight. Aranos was strongly against the idea and still is, but there wasn't any other option except for him except to lead the young dragons away from the land. The dragons parted ways--going to different lands--and Aranos went to the area where he had heard that the majority of the elves now were: Alagaesia.

He has been here for a year, and yet he is still wary of the area. War isn't the only concern of Alagaesia, and he's been hearing whispers of tyrants even worse than Galbatorix in terms of evilness.

Likes ~ Hatchlings, friends, kindness.

Dislikes ~ War, evil.

Weaknesses/Fears ~ That his friends will be taken away from him like in his homeland.

Animal Companions ~ None.

Character Description ~ Aranos is a massive dragon, standing at almost seventy-five feet with a wingspan of three-hundred-and-fifty feet. His scales are a red orange, and parts of his body are trimmed with yellow. He has a scar on his neck where he got scratched and a few smaller scars on his wings where he got bit in war. He has horns on the top of his head that point backwards, so that if he were to headbutt someone behind him, his horns would gorge them. The spikes on his back, head, neck, and wings are all a curious yellow.

Dreams ~ To settle down in Alagaesia and maybe teach some dragons.

Reason for Dreams ~ He wants to get away from a life of war, which has been all he's lived in.

Alignment ~ He obviously prefers the Varden, but he tries not to mingle in war affairs.
