Yoshi's magic is rather straight forward, albeit battle oriented. From fire to magically throwing kunai, he is proficient in blending his magic into his combat styles. More often than not Yoshi uses his magic to fight him one on one rather than all at once. As Yosei learned early in battle, fear is a powerful weapon. Thus, Yoshi has mastered the art of pushing fear into the minds of those he fights. His brightly painted armor and demon masked helmet only further contribute to these feelings.

Character Personality: Yoshi likes to think of himself as a Poet and a Romantic. And he is, in many ways, both. But he is truly grasping at straws to retain a shread of humanity about him. Years of grueling war, years of watching men die all around him have stripped the man of his faith in humanity, as much as he refuses to admit it.

This causes shifts in his personality. At times he can be serene and peaceful, each of his actions and each of his words filled with a carefully crafted sense of purpose and the next moment he will be filled with rage and a distaste for human life. This shifting of emotions usually takes something to trigger it, anything from a certain smell to the sight of the unattended dead.

Aside from this possibility of mood swings Yoshi is for the most part a kind hearted man, living his life to enjoy to beauty of the world despite its faults. No matter where one comes from, race, sex, or creed, he will always treat them respect until they have proven they do not deserve it.

His true thoughts about a person are usually hidden from them until he either trusts them completely, or they have proved themselves to be unworthy of respect. This stands true for either love or enmity. Until he shows his deeper feelings Yoshi shows most people a kind polite facade.

Character History: Yoshi Tajômaru was born into the aristocracy and thus lived a pampered and easy going childhood. Despite the grooming he received to shape him into a perfect noble, Yoshi always had an interest int the Samurai class. The art of the sword called to him. Disobeying his father's orders he secretly learned to fight, finding the different sword strokes to be as much a part of harmony as the strokes of a paint brush.

As he grew older Yoshi became a handsome and headstrong young man. His Militaristic nature however was noticed by several of the lesser nobles and they banded behind him giving him the support he needed to challenge the local shogunate. In their final battle his brother Akira was cut down by Tamio, the current shogun. Falling to despair Yoshi was beaten back and his army crushed. Later Tamio sent ninja assassins to Yoshi's home and murdered his wife. It was here that he vowed to kill the man Tamio Mishina and revenge his brother's and his wife's deaths.

It was only after this terrible loss that Yoshi came upon Tosei's egg. At fist he thought it to be only a precious stone, seeing as it looked to be a large smooth piece of amber. However, when it quickly hatched he was overwhelmed, Dragons were rare on his homeland. As time progressed he and Yosei bonded and the two became a terrible force of the field of battle. In a swift and decisive victory they struck down and killed the murder of Yoshi's wife and brother. Bringing some small peace to the man's heart. However, the Emperor had favored the shogun he had killed and so he was looked down upon as an unwelcome guest. Knowing this displeasure could bring pain and suffering upon his friends and family Yoshi left to gather fame and glory outside his home to come back to the Emperor a shining hero.

Weapons and Armor:
Soshu Kitae Tanto: A knife hardly used for combat, it is stored at the small of the back.

Soshu Kitae Wakizashi: Forged in a legendary manner to be almost permanently razor sharp this short sword is used primarily as an offhand weapon or in tight quarters. It is fifty centimeters in length, making it ideal for close in fighting, combining its strikes with an assortment of punches, kicks, and throws.

Soshu Kitae Katana: A seven layered Katana forged from the finest of steels and acid etched with characters for strength and honor. The blade itself is sharpened to a razor's edge and when used with cutting strokes can make its way though most armor. It is not useful for stabbing or hacking attacks however, as the blade is not designed for such movements.

Soshu Kitae Nodachi: Forged in the same matter as his Katana, this Nodachi is much longer, one hundred and forty centimeters in length compared to the Katana's ninety. It is heavy and must be wielded in two hands but its cutting ability far exceeds that of the Katana. This weapon is most often used by Yoshi while he is mounted, allowing him to strike down with greater force and usual.

Unlike other lands, Yoshi's homeland did not have access to brightsteel to forge their greatest weapons. While this would normally leave him at a great disadvantage it is countered by one thing. Armor. And not just any armor. While brightsteel can cut though most materials with an ease that no other metal can achieve, Heiwa-tōian armor acts as a counter point to this. Being nearly impenetrable. Dense, hard. It treats brightsteel weapons as if they were nothing more than mundane blades.

Weakness / Fear: - Death. As poetic and romantic Yoshi can be about death and dieing, he fears the day when he too will pass into its cold embrace. The fear of death is what drives him every day to make himself better.

Animal Companions: - None, only Yosei.

Character's Physical Description: A handsome man he keeps his hair brushed straight and long, often tied back into a tail. He wears some facial hair but this too is closely trimmed. He looks to be around his early thirties for those who know his people but to those who are used to those from Alagaesia he appears to be in his late twenties. His ears, if one looks closely have tiny ruby studs in them, a sign that he was born into nobility.

Most commonly Yoshi wears loose fitting robes and pants, all of sturdy but elegant pattered material and even in the summer heat, it is layered to give even without armor, some protection. In war he wears lacquered Leather and iron armor.

Dreams for the Future: - To return home a hero and make peace with the Emperor.

Reason for Dreams: - Yoshi loves his home, but fears the death or enslavement of his friends if he does not return home with great glory and honor. For if he does return home as such the Emperor will undoubtedly wish for Yoshi to sit beside him.

History: - Dragons were rare on his homeland. So when he chose Yoshi to be his rider he had picked very carefully. As time passed Yosei grew large and powerful, becoming a great war dragon in his own right, and his ferocity supplemented by Yoshi's great skill. It was not long until the two waged a new war against the murderous Shogun and finally struck him down. Yosei did not taste the bitterness in the revenge and instead rejoiced in the victory. Later, upon learning of the Emperor's displeasure Yosei agreed with Yoshi that they needed to leave and not return until glory was found.

Personality: - Noble to a fault, Yosei is deeply devoted to the ideals of honor, respect, and the companionship between Rider and Dragon. He is highly aware of his true rank and while he will not bend neck to just any dragon, he is always respectful of his elders. As a wingless dragon he has learned that his fierceness in battle must be far greater than those who can fly away at a moment's notice. Yosei learned he must inspire fear in those he fights or he will be overwhelmed.

Colour: - Bronze

Appearance: Long and almost snake like in nature Yosei is obviously not from Alagaesia. His scales gleam an unnatural bronze color, ripples of reds and yellows flashing along his length like heat waves off a volcano. His breath faintly smells of sulfur and carries with it an uncomfortable heat. Longer than most dragons who are from Alagaesia, Yosei is not as bulky however, his body is far more slender and more like that of a snake rather than that of a bird. Dragons from Heiwa-tō are generally heavier than most other dragons, their bodies having adapted to not having wings by no longer needing air-sacs and giving themselves a denser set of scales. Yosei teeth are also different than others, rather than having large fangs that excel at taking down large prey his mouth is filled instead with thousands of needle sharp razors, the largest being no bigger than a man's hand from finger tip to wrist. These teeth are perfect for rending light armor and flesh but in a more natural sense they are perfect for catching slippery fish.

Armour: - His scales are all the armor he has. However, they are heavier and thicker than those of most dragons. Since he doesn't have the ability to fly, he does not need to worry about the added weight.
Breath: - Rather than breath fire or heat, Yosei can spray a stream of liquid brass from deep inside his bowels. Liquid metal is not something one can simply put out like fire, for if someone threw themselves into water of chilled the boiling metal on them it would only harden and lock itself in place. - This breath weapon also does something unusual when Yosei dies. When it happens he begins to burn and melt from the inside out, leaving only brass covered bones and his scales behind.
Dreams for future: - To one day return home and, like his rider, come to stand proudly beside the Emperor and his great golden dragon.
Reasons for dreams: - At the heart of the matter is pride and ego, but part of it is his connection to Yoshi, their feelings very intertwined in the matter.
Weakness / Fear: - Cold is an obvious physical weakness to Yosei, and while his scales are harder than most winged dragons (he doesn't need to stay light weight to be able to fly) he can still be harmed by a carefully aimed or very powerful melee blow.

Heiwa-tō
"Peace Islands"



Heiwa-tō is an island country comprising of more than three thousand islands and thus, the Heiwa-tō climate is not same everywhere. If in some group of islands there are mild weather then in some other there is slightly extreme weather. But on a whole it can be said that the climate in Heiwa-tō, that it is a country of moderate climate.

In Heiwa-tō there are mainly four seasons; summer, winter, spring and autumn, or, summer, winter, rainy season and the season of typhoon. In summer season, in some parts of Heiwa-tō there are mild weather. But in some other parts the people experience hot and humid summer weather. During winter again, in some part there the weather is dry and windy and in some other regions in Heiwa-tō, snow fall and long cold winter day characterize the weather. During the rainy season that is in Heiwa-tō during the months of June and July the annual precipitation reaches a high level of about 1700 to 1800 mm. From August to the month of October, Heiwa-tō is often ravaged by the typhoon storm.

Heiwa-tō is located within a wide and vast range of geographical area or rather in the map of the latitudes and longitudes. It is stretched from 25 degree North to 45 degree North latitudes, covering twenty degrees of latitude areas. Again, Heiwa-tō is stretched from 122 degree East longitude to 145 degree East longitude that covers a wide area of twenty three degrees of longitudes. Because of this wide expanse, in several parts of Heiwa-tō various climates can be noticed. If Heiwa-tō is divided according to the climate in several parts then there can about five climate zones . These are, Rikagawa, the Sea of Heiwa-tō , the Central Highland, Kota Inland Sea, and South-west Islands.

In Rikagawa and in the areas closer to the Sea of Heiwa-tō, that is the western coast of Heiwa-tō, there are very cold and long winter season with heavy snowfall and generally cold or mild summer season. On the opposite in the areas near the East coast or the Kota Inland Sea areas in Heiwa-tō, though in the winter season snow falls but not as heavily as in the western coastal areas. And summer in the areas near the Western ocean is hot and humidity level is also very high. In the central area, climate is characterized by extremity. Generally the south-west part of Heiwa-tō experiences heavy rainfall and typhoons.

About 74% of Heiwa-tō is mountainous, with a mountain range running through each of the main islands. Heiwa-tō's highest mountain is Mt. Tokawa, with an elevation of 4,236 m. Since so very little flat area exists, many hills and mountainsides are cultivated all the way to the top. As Heiwa-tō is situated in a volcanic zone, frequent low-intensity earth tremors and occasional volcanic activity are felt throughout the islands. Destructive earthquakes occur several times a century. Hot springs are numerous and have been exploited as an economic capital by the leisure industry.

The mountainous islands of the Heiwa-tōese Archipelago form a crescent off the eastern coast of Darfin. They are separated from the mainland by the Sea of Heiwa-tō, which historically served as a protective barrier. The country consists of four principal islands: Ruritawase, Wateshino, Tsunofujo, and Katasewa; more than 3,000 adjacent islands and islets, including Ono Otsuna in the Powase Islands; and more than 200 other smaller islands, including those of the Akeyasi, Eeyaha, and Sakisuma chains of the Dojikawa Islands. Excluding disputed territory, the archipelago covers about 377,000 square kilometers. No point in Heiwa-tō is more than 150 kilometers from the sea.

In short Heiwa-tō is across the ocean from Alagaesia. The two took a ship across the ocean and after a very very long trip arrived on the coast.
