OOC: Making this topic because for some reason there isn't as much activity as there was. I just hope this goes till the beginning of Brisingr. Anyone can join, I don't mind.

Keralin rubbed his hands together, slowly massaging the muscles beneath. He sat on a hollowed out log with his back up against the stump that the log has once been attached to. He held his head low with his eyes shut, trying to order his thoughts. The only problem with this was that there was nothing to order. He put his head back and rested it against the tree, looking up at the sky. He threw his arms to his side and let out a deep sigh. He turned to Aelir who was dozing on the ground beside him.
"Who would have thought that, in days like this, we'd be sitting here bored out of our minds." Keralin said to Aelir as well as to himself.
Be glad for the respite, Aelir said, opening one eye, it feels good for once to not have to out-fight or outrun any number of enemies.
"Good point." Keralin said back. He watched the birds above and how they flew without a care. "Should I make something?" Keralin asked.
Like what? Aelir said curious.
"Anything really. How about some armor for you?" Keralin sggested.
Nah, I wouldn't wear it anyway.
"Alright then." Keralin thought some more, then clicked his fingers and sat up. He was about to say something when he thought about how stupid it was and sat back again.
I think you should. Aelir said, seeing the object in Keralin's mind.
Keralin looked at Aelir then took his advice. "Alright I'll make it. I'll make a safe chest for Hayren." Keralin stood up and stretched. He was about to leave when he heard an unusual russle in the bushes behind him. He whirled around and looked at the point of the noise.

OOC: I know what you mean about the low activity thing. I'll join in. (Uh oh, it's storming at my house right now!)

IC: Phalynx stepped out of the bushes, frowning as some of the sharp points of the twigs probed under her scales. She shook herself and sat near Aelir and Keralin. Hello. I hope I'm not interrupting anything. What are you doing? she asked curiously, hoping to find something to do.

How have things been with Hayren? she asked, yawning slightly, You've probably been kept quite busy. What is taking care of a hominid infant like? I expect it's more work than a dragon hatchling. For the first few days after my hatching, I took care of myself. Well, then again, I had been in there for a few tens of thousands of years... she trailed off, talking a little bit to herself in her attempts to fill the silence of the peaceful day.

OOC: Is this after the birth of Taliear, or just Hayren?

OOC: I'm going to say that it was about 4 years after the birth of Hayren, which means that Taliear hasn't hatched yet but Hayren is still an infant. And watch out for them storms, they blew up my computer once.

Keralin just laughed lightly and said back to the young dragon, "Well, for your first question I'm looking for a way to amuse my son while he is growing up. It's hard because he always wants something new to play with, that and he is forever wimpering because he can't find his toys." Keralin remembered his son crying because he couldn't find a particular toy that he had made. A little wooden horse with a spell that when you pet it, it neighed. "As for how things have been, it's quite funny because Hayren is frightened by my armor, the one that looks like dragon scales. He isn't afraid of Aelir or Emrhyst though which surprises me. It might be because they were around when he was born but I cannot be too sure."
It might be because of our child. Aelir suggested. We can feel it close to hatching whenever it's around Hayren but it never does. I think it's because it's waiting for him to be older.
Keralin smiled and said, "The one thing we can agree on though is that they are going to be alot of trouble as they are growing up."
Aye.

OOC: Ohh ok... Eriel's a mom now


IC: Eriel smiled and walked out of the trees. "You man of little faith, have you so little trust in me?" She asked, amusement in her eyes, her hand over her chest. "I'm sure Hayren's been a good boy" She laughed and sat next to Keralin. "I was thinking... If he always wants something new to play with, why don't we just make him something that he can mold and shape? I have a feeling that will help him a lot in the long run..." Eriel stopped herself as Emrhyst came into view.
Emrhyst grinned and flew downwards, laying her head next to Aelir's, acknowledging her niece with a mental hug. So how's the old man coming along? She asked Phal, a half-smile on her face.

OOC: I'm guessing "old man" means Faefnir?

IC: Phal settled down into a more comfortable position. She smiled in greeting when Eriel and Emrhyst joined them. Oh, I haven't seen a whole lot of him lately, but he's seemed alright. He still has his claws full with the whole "protecting Alagaesia" thing, she said, smiling. Phalynx reached back to pluck a few twigs from her scales, annoyed by the slight itch she felt.

So where is Hayren now? she asked. She was still curious about the boy, and wondered what an elf child was like.

Emrhyst groaned and brought her attention back down to the others. Nope, I'm still blank, I was thinking of letting him choose though.

Zeke flew leisurely over the tree tops in the Beors, scanning the land with his mind. After a minute or two of flying, he found a few familiar people and dragons, though there was one pair of dragon and Rider that he didn't recognise. Zeke slowed his wing beats and went down to meet them. He landed gracefully, the only sound to be heard was a very soft thud. Hello my friends, it has been awhile, he said, then turned to the pair he didn't know, though he knew it was a very dark purple, almost black dragoness. Forgive me fair dragoness, but I don't think we've met. My name is Zeke, dragon to Ella, he said, also knowing that he was quite close to her height, maybe a foot or two higher, although her neck was slightly bent, it wasn't stretched out like his, either way, she was a big dragoness, at least the biggest one he'd ever 'seen'. Zeke kneaded the ground with his talons, feeling that something bad was going to happen soon, but he didn't know what. He stretched his mind out, searching for anything suspicious. He found a couple deer, beaver, a wolf, and a couple other animals, but the one that surprised him the most, was a group Naza, he searched the Naza with his mind, and found to his horror, that each of them carried a vile of the turning poison, he spoke in the human tongue so that everyone could hear him,"Be on the lookout, there is a group Naza nearby each with a vile of turning poison, for those that don't know what it does, I'll explain. The turning poison is sometihng that when injected into a magical creature that serve the varden, like us, it turns them to serve Galbatorix. And plus, to up the danger, they can kill a full grown dragon easily, so when fighting them, use caution, and don't get cocky." he said. Zeke half raised his wings so if need be he could take off into the air and retreat. He opened his mouth a tad, fire waiting to do what he wanted it to do. He had learned long ago that Naza were emune to fire, but electricity was a slight weakness to them. We need Equinox, he can control lightning better than any of us, he thought.
