I think Roran is gonna become the new rider cuz:
1. Morzan was a dragon rider
2. Eragon is a dragon rider
3. Murtagh is a dragon rider

Look at the book, and you may notice that there weren't many female dragon riders, to know for sure, we'll just have to read the book, i do think that the green dragon will mate with Saphira tho, and to tell you the truth, i think that there are wild dragons, they just lurk where humans, elves, or dwarves, or any other race of human like being, evil or good, so...

though CP has said (and i was there) that there were female dragon riders. and there is SOOOOO little chance that Roran will b ethe next rider. stop and think about it from a broader persective: there needs to be some balence, so the next rider has to both be female and an elf. who does that point to? No it is at the place where the Ra'zac are and that's where the green dragon is waiting for his next rider. And Selena could be the one interpreting the dragon riders! I mean she mated with Morzan and Murtagh became a rider, she mated with Brom (don't know if this is true) and Eragon was a rider. Then Selena and Garrow were related and Roran wll be rider.

u can't use genetics as proof. cuz Brom's father and mother weren't riders. otherwise, we would have known by now. and secondly, SELENA IS DEAD!!!

i didn't think of it, but Garrow was Roran's father, and Garrow was on Selena's side of the family, so that means that Roran couldn't have gotten the dragon rider gene from Morzan. And also, you forget that at one time Ayra was guarding those 3 eggs, but when the shade got a hold of her, he got the eggs, all except Saphira. she managed to teleport her egg before she was captured. and it just happened to land in The Spine, close to were Eragon was hunting for the family.

ur wrong. Brom and Jeod stole one of the three eggs and then Arya couried it. the shade never got any of the eggs.

Roran and Ayra couldn't be dragon riders, if you think about, it is almost impossible to be possible. Ayra had all 3 eggs at one point in time, so she still can't be a dragon rider, and i don't think Roran could be a dragon rider if Eragon is, it wouldn't be as intresting a book.

she IS going to be the next rider. a lot of the evidence is in my sig, but that is by no means all of it.

now Vanir is a different matter. he is just used to show the before and after affects of Eragon's transformation and to make Eragon learn something new about magic. he is a minor character, and has little chance of becoming the next rider. the only reason he is listed is because he is an elf who can use magic.

Vanir was more important in the book than you think... also i read that he is the 2nd most likely possibility for the new rider

No, I really don't think Vanir has any chance on being the next Rider. I see certainly see him as an asset during the final battle, but not as a Rider. But hey, that's only what I think!

Besides all the evidence is pointing towards the green dragon to be the one with whom she mates. We could, however get an unexpected twist here, though!

actually, there is still a possibiliy that it is in Uru'baen and they will sneak in, get it, then sneak out. They might have to run, but it'll be worth it. OH!!!! I know what they can do!!! We know not what happens to the dragon if the Rider dies first. There is no prescedent established in the series, yet. Therefore we have another interrogative to add to the never ending list. We would have to wait for the next book if it ever happens!!! Yet everything seems to point towards the third egg. I honestly cannot see it go any other way!!! There are a couple of IFS but they dont seem to convincing to me!!!
