Well, each book has been named about the main theme of the book. C.P. did this in one word, thus the one word at the title of book four should reflect the main themes of the book.
Eragon was about a lowly farm boy (eragon) rising up to become a dragon rider like his namesake. It introduces the legend of the dragon riders, and puts eragon (like the first one) in the middle of a war that would destroy everything. In short in introduces the legend of the first Eragon and begins the legend of the second Eragon. Thus the title Eragon.
Eldest is as we know about the elves primarily. They are one of the eldest races. We learn more about the legend of the dragons (the eldest race) and here more about the legend of the first eragon (who is also the eldest rider). The book also insinuates that after a while Saphira will be the eldest of her race. At the end we find out that murtagh is the eldest son of eragon's mother (who's name escapes me).
Brisingr was of course about eragon's sword brisingr, but also about remembering his journey up to that point. It could also be part of his true name, and is a recurring theme in all three books.
Eragon opened the series, Eldest introduced a lot of key points, Brisingr expanded on points and got us to consider the entire journey, thus the final books title should reflect the end.
It could be reborn because Galby will be gone and Alagaisia will be reborn. Eragon over the course of the story will find that he has changed as a person. He has been reborn. Murtagh will be free from Galby's clutches (and will then probably die) being reborn. The races will be reunited and their old state of peace will be reborn. And most importantly, the dragon race will most likely be reborn.

It may be a flimsy argument but it works for me.

That would be a good reason. But then that brings up the question of why does it take so long for him to write a book.

Notice the key word in my sentence. That key word is part. I never said it would be his true name, I said it could be part of his true name.

Eragon - began in 1998, published in 2002. Four years.
Eldest - began in 2002, published in 2005. Three years.
Brisingr - began in 2005, published in 2008. Three years.

Even if he becomes faster as a writer, keep in mind that this probably will be the longest book. Expect it in late 2011. Patience is a virtue. No?

@the librarian: You must remember that Brisingr and book four were split because he thought that brisingr would be too long of a book. This could be telling us that he had some of book four written before the split was made. Because of this I'm hoping early to middle 2011.
Also, releasing the title of the fourth book 3 years after the first one came out doesn't seem a good idea. That's all that I'm saying.

It never was split even if he used that word. He wasn't even finished with the book we now know as Brisingr. He noticed that the book would be to long. He hadn't started to write on the fourth book when he said it.
I will see if I can find the interview tho.

either way, there is probably a reason behind why the book is taking so long.

1, it could be that he hasn't yet come up with a good ending or something.
2, it could be that the publishers are having troubles with the last book.
3, it could be that something is hindering the process of the book
4, it could be that he's just not yet done with it.

anyway, no matter what you think, you will never know why the book is not yet coming out, unless he directly tells people the reason for the delay.

it shouldn't be the first one because i know for a fact that a good author decides the ending first or else he'll go on, an on, and on..... actually, that might be right!

The first one is probably the case. Usually, a writer will model a character after someone they know, consciously or subconsciously. I doubt it's the last one, all though that could be possible depending on the kind of love you're referring to.

Legacy is a good title, adn now that i think about it, it goes great woth the theme of the books, and he has a lot to live up to if he wants to keep the legacy of the riders alive.

Maybe it could be something about eh last egg, or maybe about its rider. There's a book title about Eragon, so why can't there be a book title about Arya, or whoever is the next significant character, or even the name of the dragon?

I highly doubt it is Aren that he inherits. Really, do you think that the whole point of the trilogy is about some small ring that holds energy? Not tying to be mean here.
In this case I'm guessing the inheritance is not something physical. Each of the main characters are going to inherit something in the end. Murtagh's for instance could be the legacy of morzan if you believe he will remain evil to the end. Saphira and Greenie will probably inherit the legacy of the dragons considering that they will be the last two left alive. And eragon will inherit (or has inherited) the legacy of the dragonriders.

Basically a legacy is something that can be passed down. It can either be physical (like aren) or an idea (evil). usually legacy is used for an idea.
For instance evil can be a legacy. Morzan is evil so if Murtagh turns out evil he has inherited Morzans legacy.

You can't really inherit a name can you? When you inherit something what you inherited no longer belongs to the previous owner right? But the first eragon is still named eragon.

You can inherita a name and it is very comon today. Many inherites a family name or just after his father or grandfather.

I was researching domain names, because I am a nerd like that, and decided to check out Eldunari.com. Lo and behold, it was taken! Not too unusual, but the .net and .org were also taken. That is a little more unusual. Someone is paying around $30 a year for these domains and not even using them. Waiting for something (like a release of a book)? But wait, it gets weirder!

So I went and looked up the whois information. For those of you who don’t know whois information is the the name, email address, and address of the person who purchased the domain. On all three domains the registration was private and purchased on the same day. So that means that it is the same owner and he is paying extra to not have his name revealed. This is kind of unusual, most people just allow their information to be shown. But wait, it gets even weirder!

The date that the domains were registered was June 20th 2008. That is 3 months before Brinsingr, the third book of the cycle was released. That should be about the time that Christopher Paolini was working on adding the fourth book to the series and thus also naming it. Crazy huh?”

Now, this information was enough to convince me that it was at least a name they considered. It’s simply a certainty. As he said, the domains Eldunari.com, .org, and .net were all bought, on the same date, by an anonymous user (which is in itself unusual) and has yet to use any of them in 2 and a half years now, but continues to pay to have them reserved for their use. Even more convincing is that the word ‘Eldunari’ is a completely original word by CP that was introduced to the series and to the world on the release date of Brisingr. But, as he said, the domain was both 3 FULL MONTHS before the book was released. The only people who would have known the word at that time were CP and his publisher. This is enough evidence to convince me that this is at least one title they were considering.

I am convinced that Eldunari is the official name. Marius, as I said, recently posted about the name of the book, and he links readers to a video by kitkatt24 which contains a slip of the tongue by CP himself. Here’s his/hers (sorry Marius, rather be safe than sorry) exact quote:
