That is the same enchantment I put on the cave shelter last night. It's only applicable from the outside, so when you are ready to leave, just use your fire breath or ram straight through it. She didn't want to admit that the egg was close. Faenfir would never let her continue, so she kept her mouth shut and flew on, although she was sure Reb knew, Reb didn't say anything at all. She didn't complain at all, she just followed silently. Not making a sound.

Her forehead was beaded with sweat and her arms were trembling. With a sigh she stood up and went outside the mini cave. She gazed the the horizon in anxiety. 'The stars are veiled... A great shadow is stirring in the north, it calls me, like a worn out traveller to a great bonfire.' She felt stronger and roared with delight. She was back to her old self. But she still curled her wings around her tail. Then she recognized the forms flying towards them. " Faenfir! It's Galby and Shruikan! They have come for our eggs!" Star growled.

Her name is Spelled Star Gazer. There is a space between the words and Gazer is captialized. Fighting Galbatorix and Shruikan together was even more difficult than Faefnir anticipated. Then he heard roars coming from the distance. The rebel dragons were starting to catch up with them and they were going to join the battle any minute now. Faefnir tried to figure out what to do, besides running, that could get him out of the predicament. He decided to face them. He flew away from Shruikan and Galbatorix, who were already starting to scar him, and angled upward and towards the cave. All the dragons surrounded him, including Galbatorix and Shruikan. "Where are they, Faefnir?!" Galbatorix shouted at him. "I want those eggs!" Aww, what's the matter? The big bad king can't get his own way? Why don't you find your eggs to steal, Oath Breaker! Barely concealing his anger, Galbatorix called the puppets to attack. They all charged him simultaneously. Faefnir flew up and out of the way. The collision knocked 4 of them out, but the others were able to brake in time and angle upward to continue their attack. Faefnir remained high in the thick clouds. It was very, very cold up there. Faefnir summoned the strength to keep his body temperature the same. Eventually, all the puppets fell back to ground as their wings froze solid. Faefnir went back down to meet with Galbatorix again. Your puppets are about as dumb as the soldiers you impress. Why don't you just leave now and let us be? "Give me those eggs! Surrender!" She wanted to help but she had eggs to protect. Her maternal instincts were kicking in. They were her life. She had to protect them at all costs. Feelings as old as time washed through her and she growled with the fierceness of them. If Faefnir died on this day, she would always have the eggs. She flew faster away from Shruikan and Thorn. To safety.

He felt a surge of stamina run through his body, almost as if he was falling into darkness but wasn't. His strength increased so much, he almost knocked Galbatorix off Shruikan when they met in battle. Both Shruikan's and Faefnir's eyes grew wide at the sudden increase in strength in Faefnir. Shruikan and Faefnir then started kinda dancing in the sky, performing all sorts of flips, turns, and corkscrews, most of them being controlled by Faefnir. Galbatorix was barely able to keep on his saddle during this ordeal. Higher and higher they went into the clouds, the cold affecting neither of them. Galbatorix tried his best to stab Faefnir in the face or summon the energy to use magic, but he couldn't concentrate or have sight of Faefnir's head for just a few moments, Faefnir moved so fast. Then Faefnir, with the speed and flexibility of a cat, arched over Shruikan and grabbed him around his belly. Shruikan tried to escape from Faefnir's iron grasp, but was unable. Both of them knew what was going to occur now. As the ground got close and Faefnir increased his speed, he whispered to both Shruikan and Galbatorix: Don't you ever threaten my children again. Then Faefnir let Shruikan go and used his momentum to slam Shruikan into the ground, rendering him unconscious. Galbatorix went sailing far away from Shruikan, landing about 50 feet away from his fell dragon slave. Faefnir didn't turn around to kill them, for he thought that the cold will do the trick. Whoa! What was that, Emrhyst? It was huge! Did you see it, it was almost twice as big as me! Faefnir turned his head back and saw the thing coming back around for another attack. He lunged his shoulder hard so Reb could fly off his back and land on Star's. Well, whatever it is, I have to engage it. You two get to the outpost and fight him off if he comes. As Faefnir sped towards it, his eyes widened as it disappeared into thin air, like a cloud of black smoke. He stopped his flight and looked around for it. He mumbled several words to clarify his vision, but he still couldn't see it. Then, out of nowhere, it rushed at him from his right. It collided right into Faefnir, who couldn't see it in time to react. It sent him tumbling through the air several hundred feet before Faefnir could regain his control. By the time he was flying like normal, the creature had disappeared again. As Faefnir looked around for him, he had a brief vision. Faefnir flipped upward as the creature tried to collide into his left side. Faefnir tried to land on top of it to gain some control over the huge beast, but he was astounded as he merely fell straight through his body. Inside, he found the souls of hundreds of dragons and Riders. The heart was old and sick, but still beating with regularity. It occurred to Faefnir that his creature must be the reason why the outpost was abandoned. Which meant that the Riders probably found something that released the creature. Star, Eriel! Look around the outpost and tell me if you see anything that might be unusual in any way! He fell back out through the belly and spread his wings, regaining control of the air currents. " Look out!" Her rider cried as the black thing apeared behind her and slammed her into the ground. Star roared angrily as she felt her leg bone snap, but she still managed to get off the ground. " If you count large, black, evil, and ugly here as odd, than I see something odd!" Star Gazer called to Faefnir, turning her body so her limp leg was hidden from the creature as it came back at her. She then remebered her aversion to black magic. As it slammed into her, it bounced off and fell to the ground itself. " Not so tough now, huh?" She taunted and then rammed it with her shoulder, not going through it like Faefnir did, but instead knocking it back to the ground.

The ice under her cracked as she landed. "Oww..." She groaned as she felt her shoulderblade crack. A sharp cracking sound was picked up by her ears as she moved her arm, causing her to scream sharply. Emrhyst roared in pain as it travalled acrosss their mental link. Eriel! She screamed in her mind and shot like a bullet towards the air only to pull up suddenly as vines shot out of the ground in an attempt to puncture her chest. He shot golden flame at it, but it just went around it, like there was a force field of some sort. He roared in happiness as the creature was slammed into the ground. He saw Emrhyst get clipped and Eriel cringing on the ground. Knowing Star could handle the creature, he joined Eriel on the ground. Eriel what's wrong? Then he noticed her arm was bending funny where it shouldn't be. Oh dear. Broken arm. One minute, let me heal that. He spoke the words, then made sure the bone remained straight as it healed. He pat Eriel on the back with his wing. You'll be alright. As he turned around to rejoin the battle he saw a black shapeless form speeding right towards him. He did his best to dodge it, but at the last minute, it moved at a phenomenal speed. He saw it enter his chest like a worm. Immediately, he felt a fell, powerful presence within him trying to take over. His heart felt as it never felt before, and he used all his strength to fight it. But it was too strong for him and, slowly and painfully, Faefnir changed, mind and body. His head became a horrific undefined mass. His wings deteriorated, but not so much that he couldn't fly. His talons and teeth became longer, but looked old and uncared for with all the malice of the creature embodied in them. Worst of all, his golden scales took on a sick mixture of green with dominant specks of black all over his body. He started slobbering like a rabid dog and his pupils became completely dilated. Within him, the real Faefnir was pushed back into the deep recesses of his mind, to weak to break out of the indominatible force that had possessed his mind and body. Star gasped and dove towards him, landing infront of him and efectively shutting off his view of Eriel not realizing his malicious state. " Are you okay?" She asked examining him from where she stood. " Where did it go?" She asked him, stepping closer as she did. It was then that she recognized his difference. God Faefnir what's wrong?" She asked backing up. He looked horrible, but she wasn't going to turn away from him because of that, not until she knew what was wrong.

A deep malice was within him, with power capable of taking over nations, and it was approuching them. Emrhyst growled at the new Feafnir, He looks and...feels more evil than he did before. She thought to herself then lunged at Feafnir, her gem heading straight for his. As it touched his, she felt a powerful force bringing her into Feafnir's mind. Eriel smiled weakly as she saw Feafnir cringe. Out of his grasp. " Don't touch my eggs." Star Gazer growled. She didn't dare get off the eggs, for fear of him taking them but she could use her tail, claws, and wings. She flailed them, making it virtually impossible to get at her and the eggs. Her claws gleaming in the light, her snarl shaking the ground. Faefnir being her mate or not, if he harmed her eggs she would kill him.

With this next intrusion, he quickly pushed her away and decided that the eggs were not enough reason for this torture. He quickly took off, his tattered wings still somehow lifting him up on the wind. He arched his back and went out of bowshot. Faefnir saw Star in his mind briefly as well immediately after Emrhyst appeared and disappeared. This time, he didn't just talk to her, he quickly jumped at her. As she was pulled out of his mind, he just managed to grab the tip of her tail and be pulled out with her. The creature didn't appear to notice, but as soon as Star was pushed away, Faefnir managed to get into her mind, which he recognized and felt safe within. "Star. Star said back and then launched black flame at the beast that had tried to harm her eggs. She growled and launched at him, locking her eggs under a protective spell that no evil being could get through, not even herself, being what she was. Only Faefnir and Emhyrst could get through. She swung her tail at the beast, knowing Faefnir wasn't connected to his body anymore, therefore she held back nothing, bitting and clawing, latching onto his wing in her fatal blow. She began to separate the wing.

"Forgive me Feafnir." Then let his own body weight tear the muscle, most of it. She couldn't do it as well as Star, but she thought it would be enough to stop him from flying. I'd prefer to go back in and have some freedom." But Faefnir quickly discovered that is wasn't going to matter much. Faefnir roared loudly as he felt his wings seperate from his body. He allowed himself to fall away from them, then, somehow, his wings spontaneously regenerated. They were just as ripped as before, but he floated on the air just like he always did. Then he saw the eggs and lunged for them. His outstretched hands hit the barrier Star made. A surge of electricity went through and forced him back. He trembled from the shock. Then he eyed the black dragoness. I'm too weak for him. If I re-enter my body, he will surely crush me and I'll be trapped like before. You just need to weaken him enough for the spirit to leave. I'll relay further instructions to you when this is accomplished. Oh, and don't worry about the eggs. Your wards will protect them just fine. What I need Eriel and Emrhyst to do is go into the outpost's center compound and find whatever his source of power is. It will make it much, much easier to defeat him if we do. Faefnir saw the creature possessing his body angle away from Star and towards Emrhyst, hunger in his eye. Faefnir suddenly realized what he was doing. Emrhyst! Move! Faefnir growled as the elve's arrow punctured his side. He suddenly realized that his scales were soft when it occurred. He needed to absorb a dragon to make his scales harder. He hungrily eyed the green dragon down below, guarding the eggs. IC: Eriel quickly threw up all her wards around Emrhyst. Her mental defenses included. She felt exposed. It had been a long time since she felt like that. Emrhyst growled and swiped at Feafnir's face. Take one more step, and you'll regret it. She roared her thoughts at him. He did not listen and moved closer, only to get a deep cut on his forearm. Feafnir roared and slashed at Emrhyst, hitting her on the neck. Eriel cringed. Without her wards absorbing pain, it was much more painful than what she was used to. The sight of her dragon's blood enraged her to no end, and to finally feel her dragon's pain fully fueled the flames in her mind. Flames formed on her eyes. A huge gust of wind blew and started forming a sphere around Eriel. Her sword now wrapped in a watery cloak, leaves and vines clearly visible. A small crater appeared where she stood and a ring of fire around her head now almost visible. Eriel stared at herself. "What's wrong with me?" She asked herself quietly then turned back to Feafnir, looking at him straight in the eyes. OOC: Well then, this could spice it up a lil bit. Being the fastest she snarled and went even faster, the air whizzing by her ears in a wail, and she then dove underneath the beast and swung her tail spike up, barely missing, and she fell backwards, going slower. She growled and had to pick up speed again and this time she didn't try to harm it. She just stayed level with it in flying speed, making sure not to out fly it.

He was referring to the joiner stones that linked him, Star, and Emrhyst together. He chuckled at his remark. Faefnir was extremely put off when the two dragons broke the pursuit and headed towards the eastern end of the compound. He panicked a little bit, then realized he could use this to his advantage. He knew the complex better than they did, so he could herd them into his trap and they wouldn't even know it. " Now, if only I knew where he was, and what he was doing at this particular moment, then this would be so much easier for me." Star Gazer said lifting her face to the wind sniffing. When she didn't catch his scent, she launched back into the air and began doing an arial search.

A louder one was heard then, with alot of smoke and dust in the air, the platform Emrhyst was standing on collapsed. Eriel withdrew energy from her dragon and almost screamed out, "Letta!" " Get behind me." Star Gazer told her friend as she flew to where Faefnir indicated and landed on the pile of rubble and looked around, catching the beast's scent. " He has been here! This was no accident." Star Gazer said angrily looking around wanting him to appear so she could kill him for almost killing her friend.
