Adurna grew up in the hadarac desert, and came to know that land better than anything through her adventures out into the dry land where she played with the lion cubs around the various watering holes. her family was small but loving, and her parents disliked the government. they spoke out about it often, and one day this got them in trouble. They had to move to a new town, but a troop of soldiers came and brutaly murderd all but her and her sister, whom they treated like tramps. when they were done, adurna vowed to take revenge on the kings men and the king himself if she can. thus she trained herself in all types of fighting, mostly from the animals around her by watching how they hunt and move, emulating her surroundings. Thats how she learned to use the forces of her body to counter her opponents brute strength. For weapons she learned from nomadic warriors who disbanded from the Kings army. and then she went on the road to begin her revenge by causing as much mayhem as she can for the king, and helping all who resist him. Usualy she does this by getting them to the varden, who found her and her sister while they were fleeing from soldiers and wandering in the Beor Mountains. While on her way for vengence, she comes to discover talents like speaking with animals, and the ability to communicate silently with people from mind to mind. And as such she came upon several animals that were in great need of help, and after she rescued them they became her most steadfast companions, along with her sister who travels with her. Adurna wanders throughout the kingdom waiting for her chance to kill the king, but she needs help to do it. this is the story of her adventures from the point after she leaves the varden with her three animal companions.

Equinox, Quasar, Eris, Galedrim, and Throat Ripper went over the dessert. They all except Throat Ripper (his existence had not been revealed to the Varden yet) were told to find as much information about Galby or Crimson as they could. Equinox looked at his deformed leg, it did not pain at all in fact it felt best it ever had. They were forced to land so Eris, Galedrim, and Throat Ripper could get a drink. They all were burning up. Once they were done drinking they went back into flight. Equinox was first to see a peregrine falcon flying below him. He decided to give chase. He angled downward and almost through Eris off his back. The bird saw the green dragon flying at him so it flew toward a woman. Equinox stopped so he wouldn't hit her but the momentum almost smashed him into the ground. Quasar landed next to him and said Equinox Nice, can't even catch a bird and it would have been worse if you did seeing how it probably belongs to her.
Sorry, how am I supossed to know if it was her. Any way I was hungry.
Even though you just ate fifteen minuets ago. Then Quasar looked at the girl I'm sorry for my friends action and I promis he won't do it again. Any way my name is Quasar and the smart one over there is Equinox. The human is Eris the elf is Galedrim and the urgal is Throat Ripper. What is your name? Quasar asked still glaring at Equinox.
Some one is crabby. Equinox muttered.

Adurna stroked her falcons' back, eyes narrowed at them from the glare of the sun and suspicion. "My name is of no concern to you, and I would ask you to apologize to Shahin." Her falcon flared his wings.
What? she asked him.
You're doing it again! he snapped.
I'm not doing anything. In case you didn't notice, that dragon almost killed you!
Almost... He said.
Bah..I don't trust them.
Of corse you don't. He was mocking her.
Shahin, stop it. Go and find the others, we may have to make a quick exit. She flung him off her arm and he screeched in indignation and flew off into the desert.
Meanwhile the other's were staring at her as she gazed unblinkingly into her birds eyes, then threw him off her.
"Ungratefull pidgeon." she muttered, wipeing sweat off her forhead as she watched him soar away.

Quasar glared at Equinox and his only reply was What, I didn't know it belonged to her.
Equinox... haven't you listened to anything you were taught. Open your mind before you hunt. I'm not saying every animal is owned by someone, but you should anyway. How does it feel to be the only known dragon to be put under control by
Crimson even if it was only for a few minuets. And because he is your rider you should be even more cautious. Quasar knew she offended Equinox but didn't really care. She was tired of him always getting into trouble.
Sorry. he muttered.
I didn't mean to be rude but you have to be more careful.
Equinox looked at the woman and said I'm sorry I won't do it again. And were you talking to your bird? said Equinox.
The other tree jumped off the dragons. Like usually Throat Ripper stayed slightly behind them. He didn't not to be attacked.
"You know what we should try talking to animals. That could be a good way to figure out where Crimson is." said Eris.
"Yeah but if he is anywhere near they would be dead." Galedrim replied to his brother then looked at the girl and said "Forgive me for Equinox's behavior. He is not my dragon, but I still take responsibility for him... When Quasar isn't. What are you doing here?" Galedrim asked.

Adurna had slowly edged her hand to her sword belt during the strangers exchange, and now she gripped her weapon tightly. "It doesnt matter, you wouldn't have been able to catch him anyway." she took her hand off her sword, causually feeling the scar on her face, "And i wouldn't call him bird when he returns, call him Falcon or shahin." she dropped her hand and moved to the little watering hole she had camped at during the night, habittually obliterating any signs of her presence.
Adurna! Her head shot up at the panic in Shahins voice. Getting up she ran to meet him and he wheeled down to her arm, flapping his massive wings in terror, screeching in an earsplittingly loud voice.
What's happened? she demanded.
The others! It's the others! Someone set traps, the two can't get away! You must come, NOW! He launched off her arm and began to wheel in the skys above her haphazardly. Adurna had her sword in one hand and a whip in the other faster than a blink of the eye.
"Lead the way Shahin!" she called up to him. He turned at once and arrowed off, and she followed after him like a cheetah, easily keeping up with him.

Equinox starred at Quasar and the others. He doubted the bird could out fly him but didn't say anything. He wondered who the others were and what she meant.
Should we follow her? asked Equinox.
We have nothing better to do so... yes. Any way maybe whoever captured her friends know something about Galby or Crimson. Equinox how is you foot feeling. asked Quasar.
Fine, Crimson can't be near.
"Neither way we should follow her. Hope fully we meet know urgal tribes." said Galedrim.
Throat Ripper glared at him, he knew that Eris was the only one who somewhat trusted him. He climbed upon Quasar while the human and elf did likewise. Both dragons followed the way Shahin.

By now Adurna was far out of sight, but her trail was clear. She didn't bother to try to hide it when all that mattered was getting to her friends as quickly as possible. Shahin glided from thermal to thermal to conserve valuable energy. His keen eyes darted here and there to pick up the markers he had dropped to find his way back.
There! The traps are there!
"What were they doing out here? They know its dangerous!" she demanded as she leaped over a boulder the size of a small adult camel, still unaware that the others had followed her from the watering hole. She had no qualms about revealing her elfin descent for her friends sake, even if others were in sight of her at the time.
They said something about music. And a dragon. They went to investigate, and that's all I know. He was gliding down the cliff face. She could hear her friends distinct noises. Kitana's pained and terrified howling, and Kyragai's loud hissing. She hurried as fast as she could to the edge and peered down.
"Curse the foul people who made these traps!" she cried in anguish.
Down below, suspended from a tree in a steele mesh cage, Kitana was tangled in wires and one was wrapped around her left forepaw. Kyragai was twined around Kitana's throat, as was his custom. The mesh was so finely woven that Kyragai could not slip out of it.
"They didn't fall into it Shahin, they were dragged and PUT into it." She slipped down the slope without a single misstep or tumble then tried to saw at the wiers with her sword. It didn't even leave a scratch.
"What magic is at work here?" She asked aloud.
This wreaks of a trap. Shahin said. Adurna tried to wrip the wires apart but only suceeded in cutting her hands. She didn't even notice the blood because by now she knew the cuts would heal almost instantly.
"Shahin, I cant get them out, something is protecting the metal. I have the feeling only magic can get them out. My people would know how, but they are long gone. I fear there is nothing we can do unless...." She trailed off, her eyes going fuzzy.
No, Adurna! Kyragai said.Dont risk it. You know that's how those demon spawned men of the king can track you. You MUSN'T use magic for us. Leave us here and go on. Adurna rattled the bars of the cage.
"Don't you dare make me out to be so low as that! I wont leave you. Shahin, see if you can go find help. It isn't likely to find anyone but try anyway." He cocked his head at her so one fierce yellow eye met hers.
Don't give yourself false hope Adurna. I'll try to be back before nightfall.And with that he took off into the sky.

Equinox and Quasar landed. They lost sight of the woman so they landed. They saw her tracks and Equinox said should we follow them?
"No, they probably don't want anything to do with us. Any way for now lets rest." replied Galedrim and in the ancient language he said "Water come up from the ground." He held the water as the others drank and then he drank himself and was about to let the water go.
"No, check where Crimson is. We need to make sure he isn't attacking any one." said Throat Ripper.
"You have a good point but I don't see why I could care less if he gets himself killed."
Just do it Galedrim. What if the Varden were going to be attacked by him. said Quasar.
Galedrim gave in and he scurried up an image of Crimson. He saw Crimson was talking to a man. He was in front of the mountains with what appeared to be a few people.
He released the magic and said "That can't be good. He doesn't seam to be to far off and he has a few soldiers with him." replied Galedrim.
"He could just be walking around. The chance are he doesn't know where we are unless he has a radar on you Equinox." said Throat Ripper.
Your right he can't know about us but what ever he is doing can't be a good thing.
They got and walked. They didn't care if they were excatlyy on her trail. After all they had their mission to do for the Varden.
I hear something, I'll be back. said Quasar.
She flew off into the air. She saw off in the distance a group of soldiers on horse back. She noticed in the head of them Crimson. She flew closer when something struck her in the side.
She fell to the ground. A large arrow had imbed itself into her scales. She saw the soldiers walking up the mountain toward her. How careless of me. she said to herself.
The arrow wasn't to bad so she flew back toward them. She did not notice the black substance go into her scales and was now circulating in her blood stream.
I have bad new the soldiers are headed this way. They seemed to be angled not directly at us though. And Crimson is with them. she said.
"Fly toward the direction they are headed. And see if there is anything there. It should be awhile until they reach it." said Eris.
They mounted the dragons and flew off.

Should we help? asked Equinox.
What kind of question is that? Of course! We are part of the Varden and Crimson is after them. I will not let any one fall prey to that monster! hissed Quasar.
I don't know about you bet the less encounters we have with Crimson the better.
Coward. Come you tell him we will help. demanded Quasar.
Fine, we'll help, show us the way. said Equinox. He and Quasar flew in the air with Eris, Galedrim, and Throat Ripper on Quasar.
"I wonder if it was Crimson who captured them?" said Eris.
"Knowing him yes, but not necessarily. After all he would probably kill or enslave insted of capture wait." Galedrim looked at the bird and said Do you know if your friends are under mind control?

His wings stopped sparking.
Bedan. No she was not under mind control. None of them are. Adurna is protecting them from that, but she is weakoning by the minuet. He flew up to the dragon and hovered there, skillfully resting on a thermal.
His eyes began to glow like molten gold. Suddenly each one of them was flying through the desert to a location not far from where they were.
The vision flight stopped at the bottom of a cliff where a woman slashed at a cage of magic steele mesh. Several men came up behind her, they circled her and she muttered a singal word. The cage melted around the animals, and they leapt to her side. But one of the men came forward, laughing. He said something back and all of a sudden the animals were suspended before him. Adurna was forced to her knees.
The man walked forward, flicking his sword up to trace the scar on her cheek. His eyes widened. He recognized her. Shahin blinked and sound came into the scene.
"You." the man said,"I thought you were dead."
"For all intents and purposes, I am dead. You killed me when you killed my family." He smirked.
"I enjoyed killing the traitors that were your family. My mercy in not killing you has cost the king a great deal of trouble."
"Not enough trouble if you ask me." she responded. Then a dragon came forward.
The vision began to break up and they were back inside their bodies.
That was all I saw before I flew for help. Several men have our companions captured, and were it not for that Adurna would strike the fury of Hell into their hearts. All I ask is that you rescue them. Shahin flapped his massive wings, then a piercing cry shot out of his mouth and he plummeted several feet before cathcing himself.
"What's wrong?" one of the otheres asked from above, he didn't look up to see who it was.
Adurna is almost spent. I feel her pain. Kitana and Kyragai need my help. He looked at them. Are you coming or not?

Yes, we will come. replied Quasar. Were one of the mn that were there a very tall elf with black hair and huge sword, the blade of it is the size of a normal human. If there was then we must hurry faster your friends will be in even more dager if he was. That man name is Crimson, he is Equinox's rider and about as evil as Galbatorix.
Equinox was shocked at what he saw, he didn't reconize any of the men there, but he could have eaisly passed over Crimson. His eyes burned with hatred when he thought of his rider. He sped up faster then the others. He wouldn't let anyone fall to Crimson.
Equinox get back, don't go off by yourself! shouted Quasar.
"Let him Quasar, the chances are they will be more occupied with Equinox because he is a dragon." said Galedrim.
"Who was that man who killed Adurna's family?" Eris asked Shahin.
"Quasar what are you doing, you aren't supossed to land yet." said Throat Ripper.
"What?! I'm not going down." she replied confused.
Galedrim looked at his dragon then he contacted Equinox Get back, something is wrong with Quasar.
Equinox flew back and Quasar was stil going down. Are you ok?"
I was shot with an arrow, I think it had some poisin in it, but I doubt enough to kill me. she replied.
They all followed Shahin toward the group.

Shahin glanced back at Quasar.
Wait. he commanded. Fly to the ground. now. he flew at her to emphsize his order. She was annoyed with him but her took no notice. Once on the ground, he fluttered over to her. He found the arrow wound and gently licked it.
I know this poison. It's very unique. You can only find it in one location. It will kill you, make no mistake. a single drop could kill 30 men. Be still! he shouted as she began to fidget.
You others, hold her down. I can purge it from her system, but it will be painfull. The only other alternative is a slow death. They all came around quasar and put their wait on her. Shahin began to mutter in a strange language, the one he had spoken in earlier. His eyes changed. First the were the yellow of a falcon, then they turned gold, then to molten amber, sparks of magic flying out of them. His form wavered and began to change. His body elongated into that of a man's. but this man was more beautiful and terrifying than the most pure and bloodthirsty elf.
Teak-ra menet lie, shet valdan caspiato! he spred his arms out in a sweeping arc. And at that moment quasar began to tremble and jerk. The others could barely hold her down.
Keep her still! sweat was pouring down Shahin's face, the magic lacing his deep baratone of a voice. Finally Quasar was still, a pool of black liquid surrounding her. Shahin sagged, and reverted to his falcon form. He shuffled his feathors and blinked a few times, his eyes going back to yellow.
She will be fine in a few moments. And yes, there was an elf with a sword, the same one who killed Adurna's family, all but her sister anyway. and she is with the varden. he turned and flew off.

Equionx, Eris, Galedrim, and Throat Ripper looked at Quasar. She staggered to her feet Thank you. she said. Where did you learn to use magic? she asked.
So it seems we aren't the only ones affected by Crimson. muttered Equinox. I'm sorry for what my rider has done to her family. We need to hurry, if Crimson is involved your friends will eather turn into slaves or be captured. Throat Ripper, you and Eris stay here with Quasar.
Don't worry Equinox I can go. She replied.
"Are you sure?" asked Eris.
Yes." she said and she flew back into the air.

To answer your question, i never learned magic, i was born with it. i am a Sun Flacon, one of the last. Shahin said, once up in the air.
And you dont need to worry about Adurna, you give her the distraction she needs, and she'll take it from there. For several years now she has been the Vardens assasin of choice. let that settle your doubts.

I never heard of that her did she just join? said Equinox.
You were never at the Varden so you wouldn't know Equinox. Technically you are not part of the Varden you just travel with us try to kill your monster of a rider. replied Quasar.

Crimson stared down at Adurna and the two animals. Great pleasure formed in his dark, cold eyes. "I was hoping to kill my dragon but the Vardens greates assassin, Lord Galbatorix will still be happy. Now you two," he pointed at two mind controled elves "kill the bestes, but leave the girl I'll mind control her." ordered Crimson.

Adurna looked up at him, her eyes radiating hatred.
"Touch one hair or scale and you will wish you never were born." she snapped at the elves. her voice rang through the air and into their minds. She stood up so fast the person holding her back fell over.
"As for you Crimson, you and I have a score to settle." She drew her sword. Iron backed shields went up all around her mind, sheltering the minds of her friends within her own. Just on the horizon, the dragons, led by shahin, were racing toward them. Neithor Adurna nor Crimson saw them, and it was at that moment that ADurna leapt at him, striking her sword against his with the combined might of human and Elf. Crimson's arm vibrated at the effort he had to make to stop her blow.
"now we shall see who is stronger you demon!" she cried, the controlled fire and bloodlust of the berserker dancing in her eyes. His own eyes were wide in shock, no human should be this strong, they were practically even in power. that was when she began to push him with his mind, causing him to expend more energy in an effort to keep her thoughts out of his mind.
"Shall we two dance with the devil, you and I? Oh wait, that's right, your leader is the devil. I guess he'll have to sit this one out!" she cackled manically and spun gracefully away from his sword. She pulled her whip from her belt and slapped it to the ground like a lion tamer.
"Come and play with me you death dealer. Come and play my game!" She cracked the whip again and lashed it out so that it locked around his sword.
Shahin and the others were nearly upon them.

"You will have to try better than that to beet me girl. I as well wish that your family were alive so I could kill them all over again. How I loved watching their bodies collapsing beneath my blade." He watched her get more angry, but her anger was his pleasure. Using magic he pulled sword away from the whip. Using his over sized sword he slashed at her. The blade of the sword was longer than her entire body. She blocked the slash and he made another attack. Then with magic said "Earth rumble beneath my foe!" he said. The ground around them started to shake only Crimson did not because he was the one who cast the magic.
"You are strong I give you that much, but I have meet others much more powerful than you."

Equinox and the others saw them fighting. He knew that Adurna was putting up a good fight against him. But how long would she last? He sped up toward Crimson anger ran through his face. Crimson! That is enough, I am here I know that it is me you are truly after. Equinox roared at his rider.
"Ah Equinox, it looks like I can now kill multiple birds with one stone. Speaking of birds I see that that bag of feathers had returned. Perhaps I will use his feathers as a hat."
You not harm any of them Crimson.
"Really I don't see that over grown bag of scales or the elf. Now do as I say after all you are my dragon. And shoot lightning at me a dare you."
Gladly. replied Equinox. He shot lightning but Crimson deflected it at the lynx. Because the lightning was deflected it wasn't as powerful but it still blasted the lynx aside.
An elf ran up to the lynx ready to kill it but an axe was embed in the elf's head.
"Nice Throat Ripper." said Galedrim. Throat Ripper jumped off Quasar and grabbed the axe from the elf's body.
"Crimson what are you doing here!" demanded Galedrim.
"Good, so you are all here. I can kill you all." replied Crimson.

THAT IS ENOUGH! The world trembled at the power in Adurna's voice. She had never let her magic reach its full potential before, she had come close once, and it terrified her. Now her power was joined with Shahin's, and he pearched on her shoulder. Her eyes were literally sparking with power, they glowed like white hot embers in a dwarven forge. She walked over to Kitana and passed a hand over her, the lynx pounced to her feet.

Silence. she responded. turning to Crimson and the others, she saw the dark Elf and the sparks of magic turned a violent shade of blood red in her rage.
Crimson, you and i have a score to settle. She flicked her hand and her sword flew to her, she plucked it out of the air nimbly. he smirked at her, she didnt frighten him. the smirk was the last straw. Adurna shrieked.
Wings that be mine by right,she intoned,Form now and aid my quest. Give me the talents of my name sake, and fuse its power with mine own. All of a sudden, great silvery wings of skin so supple it rippled like water sprouted from her shoulders. She fanned them twice and shot into the air.
face me now you demon from Hell! She had become what she was from birth. A hybrid of human, dragon, and elf. The best of them all. But for all her power she still had weaknesses, her friends, and her sister.

she stared at him, her wings pumping the air. All the anger drained out of her eyes. what replaced it could have been something like fear, but in reality it was a cold cunning that took in all of her options. She knew that even with all her power, she could not beat him alone. She was good, oh yes, but she was still coming into her power. She wasn't going to fight him until she was sure of what she can do. Instead she would need to distract him, long enough so she could get everyone out of here in one piece and get back to the varden and her sister. Ravinia would know what to do. She was always the strategic thinker of the two of them. An idea came to her. A cruel smile flickered about her lips.
Tell me Crimson, she said, her voice strained with choking back laughter, What would happen if i killed your dragon? She cast in her mind a spell of living death, one not even Crimson knew of. It was a spell handed down through memory from one to another through her line of ansestors. No one but an Orum knew of it, or could even cast it without dying. the one she cast it upon would truely be dead, but the spirit would be chained to the body until the caster realeased the magic. Then the spirit would rejoin the body. the spell wouldnt kill the Dark Elf, but it would put him out long enough for everyone to get far away.
The pure white light tinged with red lanced down from her mind into the heart of the dragon, who keeled over at once. The others screamed in shock and outrage, but she silenced them with a look.

OOC: Did you do that to Equinox, because if you didn't you did it to the wrong dragon. Equinox is Crimson's dragon.

OOC: yeah, it was to equinox.

IC: "What did you do that for!" demanded Eris.
She explained what she did Eris still didn't like it but he got backo nQuasar. Quasar flew down and picked up Equinox in her claws. He was smaller than her so he wouldn't be so much of a burden, but he would slow them down. Throat Ripper and Glaledrim climbed on Quasar.
Quasar flew into the air but she was much lower because of Equinox's weight. She snarled but didn't do much than start to fly. Her speed was cut back so she was fortunent Crimson and his pawns collapsed.

Crimson tried to block the magic, but it was magic not even he knew of. It struck him and he knew that Equinox was in a sort of dead state. He fell unconsious because of his dragons 'death'. Because he was never attached to Equinox the magic wouldn't last as long but it would still take hours for him and his mind controled elves and humans regained consiousness.

Adurna flew alongside Shahin, silent. Every now and again she would glance at her wings, then at Shahin. kyragai was draped around her kneck and twined around her body right down to her feet. He had grow.
Why so silent Kyragai? Everything worked out didnt it? He flicked his toung at her.
yesssss...It did. but now you have lossssst the element of sssssssuprisssse...Crimson now knowsss what you are...at leassst in part.... she didnt respond. Kitana was sleeping on her back, and Adurna didnt want to wake her with questions. By now they were nearly to the varden, and she deemed it safe to head to ground. She had no doubt that the others had questions for her. She owed them answers now. They risked their lives for her, and she knew a blood debt when she saw one. Without waiting for them she glided down into a valle near the entrance to the Varden.

"we have more than some time, we have two days." she brushed back her hair, the notted scar more distinct in the fading light. Her eyes flashed red as she felt it on her face. The only blemish in an otherwise extraordianrily beautiful face. "That magic is potent. A curse of sorts, handed down through the blood of my ansestors. You who have witnessed it are sworn to secrecy. I have already binded your tougns against treachery of any sort. A precaution that i ask your forgivness for." She conjured up a fire and sat down to tend it. there was silence for a moment. Kitana nudged her arm and kyragai gave a friendly squeeze on her arm. Shahin fluttered down from his tree and nipped her hand lovingly. Her eyes glittered with tears of thanks to them.
"I owe you my life. If you hadnt come, i would have fought him. And died by him. And for that i owe you the truth. My name, my full name, is Adurna belinda Orum. it means water serpent. my middle name is beautiful snake, and," she paused. her animalcompanions repeated their gestures of comfort,"And no, i am not human. Not entierly anyway." She sighed,"Sit down, this will be a long tale, and one best told away from prying eyes." They all sat around her fire. She stared into it for a moment, lost in memories.
"Long ago, my family lived in a town not far from here. Its gone now, obliterated by the king's men." her eyes hardened, she didnt look up from the fire."My parents spoke out against the King, often. It got them into trouble one day, and we had to leave. But those blasted soldiers found us." Her voice began to crack,"They butchered my family. One by one. in front of me and my baby sister." Her eyes filled with grief and tears, spilling over onto her cheeks, they glistened like star tracks. "When they were done, they bound my sister and I. Like slaves they took us befor this man. He had eyes like blood and a smile as cold as ice. Colder, even." her voice fell to a whisper. "he took one look at my sister, she was so pretty, like a little angel. He made her his whore. And when she was broken, he took me. When he was done with us, weeks later, he left us in the desert to die. Thinking us helpless. But i knew the desert." she looked up then, a fighters gleam in her eyes. "i kept us fed, kept us watered. Shahin and the others found us, led us to where we could find help. The Varden took Ravinia in. But i couldnt stay. I went off on my own. I learned how to fight fromt he animals and the elements. And from men who had left Galbatorix's army. I was good at it. For a few years i made my living from my sword. But then, i came to this place. It was filled with graves. And this light, this soft bright light, it came out of no where. It asked me if i was ready to become what i had to be in order to get my revenge. I told it i was. I..."She faltered, "It told me though, that what would happen could not be undone. And i would have to use my gift to save others whenever i could. I agreed. and it took me up into the sky, it gave me wings. The grace and agility and beauty of the elves, and the ferocity of the dragons, along with their ability to live throught horrible injury. And it allowed me to keep my human compassion, and other qualities. And i could do magic. i am no longer human. i am something else. But that is all i have to tell you. Make of it what you will." She rose and left the light to stand by the river, gazeing up at the moon and stars.

"Basted," Eris muttered. His eyes were filled with rage. With everything she said and the recent events he now hated Crimson more than ever. He looked at his brother, his dragon, Throat Ripper, and Equinox. They all, each of them there had a reason to hate Crimson. "I'm sorry for what happened. It seems we all have a reason to hate Crimson and Galbatorix." Eris got up, he was sagging on his left leg because of the days events. Galedrim was leaning on his right leg as well.
"Should we conjoin?" asked Eris.
"No, we will be ok. There is know reason to fear attack."
"That's a first."
"None of care that you are part human. After all Galedrim and I are Simese twins. When Quasar hatched for us we were sperated." said Eris.
I wonder, could we just go back and kill Crimson? asked Quasar.
"No, for one it may kill Equinox. Two his pawns are probably up by now. And three I have know wish to see his face even if it was to kill him." said Galedrim.
Throat Ripper went next to the fire. He cleaned of his axe. He then looked at the others. “You know, if Equinox died Crimson will die.”
“How can you say that! Even if that were true I would not kill a friend... You still don’t trust him do you.” replied Galedrim.
“Think about it, how many dragons hate their riders?”
“Throat Ripper, he is on our side. And you saw him, he attacked Crimson.”
The urgal grunted. “Well you’re right about that.”
Eris stared up at the stars. He thought he saw a bronze dragon in the sky. He looked back at everyone.

there was a rustle and a crack from the trees. instantly everyone was on alert. But then, a woman with angelic blue eyes and hair the color of spun silver came out of the shadows.
"Ravinia?" Asked ADurna. She had been away for a long time now, but not so long for her baby sister to grow up like this.
"Hi Adurna." She said softly. For some reason Eris felt his heart rate speed up as he looked at her.
"the varden, they saw your fire, I asked if i could come out to see you inside." there was a moments silence, then the two women were hugging and crying into eachothers arms, both knew of the others suffering, they shared a mental link. They were just so glad to be back together again.
"i missed you little serpent."Adurna murmured into her sisters hair.
"And i, you, dragon heart." Her sister responded. Finally they let go of each other, locking their arms in an easy movement that bespoke of long years walking entwined just so.
"Come, let us go inside now." Ravinia said. They bother turned and strolled to the waterfall, disappearing behind it.

Eris, Quasar, Galedrim, Throat Ripper, and Equinox looked at eachother. "What just happened?" asked Throat Ripper.
They went into the water fall. replied Quasar.
"That's obvious. Is that were the Varden is, I thought they were under the mountains."
"Something tells me they didn't go to the Varden." said Eris his heart still racing and he was still looking at the waterfall.
"No Throat Ripper, you have to say the words." replied Galedrim coming aware they never told the Varden that they brought had an urgal with them.
They all then went through the waterfall. Galedrim watched his brother. So the others wouldn't hear he said to Eris' mind Itd not worth it. Don't try anything brother. You know what happened.
What are you talking about? replied Eris.
Don't play dumb I can read your thoughts as well as I can read Quasar's. Coe though we haven't been here in ages. Galedrim then turned to Throat Ripper "Stay by us. They don't know that there is now an urgal amongst them." replied Galedrim. They walked forward with the resent events still buzzing inside their heads.

ADurna and Ravinia waited behind the waterfall, arms wrapped around each others waist in a sisterly pose.
"this is not the usual entrance to the Varden, but Ravinia and I came through here when they first found us many years ago. We always use this entrance." Ravinia glanced warily at the urgal.
"you certanly keep odd company these days Dragon Heart." she noted.
"All here have saved my life ravinia. Remember that. " Adurna set of down the cavern, leaving her sister to lead the rest.
"Where did she go?" asked Eris.
"To the leader. She has reports to make.Adurna only comes here once every few years to report here activities and get new orders. Which is probably why none of you have seen or heard of her. She is not usually talked about." Ravinia shook back her hair, looking like a faerie. Eris caught the sent of Lavender and Roses, his heart danced again.
Ravinia sped up to whisper something to a guard up ahead. He nodded and let them through silently. She turned and looked at them all, her eyes lingereing a beat longer on Eris before mving on.
"I must go and find my sister now. I trust you all know where to go from here." She turned and left.

"Yeah, we do." replied Eris. He watcked where she went until Quasar turned him to hurry up. It wasn't really nessicary to go to the leader, but they knew people would probably react badly if they knew Throat Ripper was in here. They passed the grave yard and Quasar looked into it.
"Don't worry we will go there as soon as we're talking with the leader." replied Galedrim. He knew that Quasar wanted to visit Sceptar's grave. He felt for his dragon.
They continued on Eris turned toward Equinox to talk. "Are you feeeling better." he asked.
Yes. What happened to Crimson.
"Lets just say he won't be awake for a few days."
Fare enough... are you ok you seam... oddly happy.
"You wouldn't under stand."
Perhaps you are right. So you like that girl don't you.
I won't deny it, but you aren't my dragon so what are you doing inside my head. said Eris.
You two just as well be. Your better than Crimson.
They continued until they reached they leaders room.

they knocked and a voice called enter. Inside stood Adurna and Ravinia.
"Ah, yes, they were just telling me about you." The man stood up and walked over to them.
"Adurna has already explained everything to me, so you have little to add. My spies have been following you for some time. Impressive battle earlier from the sounds of it. You have my compliments. But now is not the time for a story. I will summon you later. I am assigning Ravinia to you for you stay here. If you need anything she will get it for you." He glanced over at Ravinia, she bowed her head in acknowledgment.
"Good. Be gone you all. I wish to speak with Adurn alone."
Ravinia led them out with a short curtsie to Aderen, the leader, and quietly shut the door.
"so." She said. "How can i help you?" Her eyes were the precise shade of a deep saphire when the sun strikes it. Going so deep around the pupil they turned black.

Eris looked at her, but Galedrim was the one to speak he didn't trust his brother saying anything smart at the moment. "Right now we wish to visit the grave yard a friend of our lies there." said Galedrim.
Quasar nooded. Equinox and Throat Ripper bothed looked around, none of them had been here bofore.
"After that we wish to go the dragon hold." replied Galedrim.
Quasar, why do you want to visit the graveyard?" asked Equinox.
It just struck Quasar that she never told him During the fall of the riders my friend Sceptar was killed by Galby and Crimson. He and I made a promis that we would live thorugh this. Its my fault he died, if I were only faster and stronger then maby there would be three dragons here and not just two. Quasar replied.
"When he said spies what was he talking about. We haven't been aware of anyone around us for awhile. Well while we came here." said Eric.
Equinox grumbled he wasn't to sure what to think about this. He was mainly worried how the Varden would react when they found out he was Crimson's dragon.

Ravinia put her hand on Equinox, Dont worry about it. Adurna will protect you with her word. The Varden value her more than anything, if she says you are trustworthy they wont do anything to you. She turned to the others, ignoring the dragon's suprise at her ability to communicate with him.
"The spies were sent for our protection. They have been trailing you since you came to the edge of the desert. Now, i will take you to the graveyard." She looke at Eris, smiling at him, "come this way. We had to move it to make room for others..." The smile faded from her eyes to be replaced by sadness. "There has been much fighting." She looked at Equinox, and the sadness was replaced by fear. "I....He knows where we are then. Crimson, I mean...." She moved her hand to her arm and rubbed a certain spot. She realized what she was doing and dropped her hand, turning her back to them. They saw, though she tried to hide it, her effort to beat back her fear and anger.
"I would give anything to hurt that Elf." She murmured, rubbing her arm. " But i cant, not without hurting you, too." She began to walk away toward the graveyard.
"Are you coming?" she asked over her shoulder.

They followed her toward the graveyard. Equinox just looked at the ground as they walked. There has to be a way. he though. He knew there must be way to kill Crimson without himself dieing.
Eris looked at her and said "I'm sorry. We will get Crimson. Even though he has done stuff to us as well what he has done to you is the worst... I'm sorry."
Quasar looked at them Is there a way to remove a gedaway ignisia. There has to be a way.
I don't care. As long as he dies I don't care if I die. said Equinox.
"Ignorint dragon, we aren't going to let you die no matter what you say." said Throat Ripper.
"We can help you have revenge against Crimson," said Eris "we have spent much of the past few months trying to find him. Although most of the time it is the other way around. We will find a way to stop Equinox from dieing. Like Quasar said there has to be a way."
"Like what. Unlike with Galbatorix Equinox is Crimson's dragon naturally."
They hurried toward the graveyard. Quasar flew in front of them and entered. Galedrim and Eris stayed back. They knew why she went and they wanted to give their dragon some time to mourn.

"there is so much evil in this land. Like a cancer that just keeps spreading." Ravinia said. She placed her hand on Eris's shoulder,"We will find a way to kill crimson without killing Equinox. Adurna will confer with the ancients who gave her her power in the first place, they will know what to do." She gave him a reasuring squeeze and removed her hand. "Your dragon has much sadness in her. Im sorry for her losses." She rubbed her arm again, when she looked up and saw Eris staring at her arm she pulled up her sleeve, expresion gone from her face. On her bone white skin was a bloody scar stretching from her shoulder to her elbow.
"He left a mark on all of us, but on me he left it where evryone could see." she said bitterly, pulling her long sleeve back down over her arm. At least that explained her odd appearance. Her shirt had one long sleeve and one short. She wore sturdy leathor pants and a leathor rap around her midsection, just like her sister. They could have been twins if it weren't for the age difference. "I must go and see to your dragon. I feel a need for comfort coming from her. Excuse me." she walked into the graveyard.

Eris watched her go into the graveyard. He was experionless. He looked at Galedrim they both wanted a way to save Equinox and have revenge agaist Crimson.
"Is something wrong." Galedrim asked Eris.
"No not with me anyway. I'm not as good at blocking out Quaras emotions as you are. I can't belive what Crimson did to her. I knew he was evil but, this, this surpasses what I though of him."
They, Throat Ripper, and Equinox followed Ravinia into the grave yard.

Quasar went up to Sceptar's tomb. His rider was burried with the noble silver dragon. Sceptar, why can't be alive. If it wasn't for me you could have still been alive. she said. I will not break my promiss with you, I will survive to see both Crimson and Galbatorix dead.
She stared at Sceptar's grave. It was made of a white rock and it had is name enscribed with runes. Tears came from her eyes she didn't care if anyone saw. She wanted him back.
I will have vengence against both of them... I swear it. she said still staring at the gravestone.

Ravinia came up to her and gently wiped away a tear from Quasar's eye.
"It's a terrible thing, to lose a loved one. Not a day has gone by since my mother and father's deaths that i dont grieve for them." She looked into quasars eyes, her hand on her cheek, "But i do know they wouldn't want you to be sad for them forever. And i know it doesnt help to try to be sad forvever. Is there anything i can do to help you?"

Quasar looked at Ravinia. Thank you, Know there isn't really anything you ban do for me, but thanks for the offer. she said. Quasar looked back at the grave and the others came up to her. Eris and Galedrim went up to their dragon and paid their respect to Sceptar and his rider after all they were friends also. Throat Ripper stood next to them, but did nothing they never knew the them.

After a few minuets ravinia cleared her throat and asked id they still wanted to go to the dragon hold. They said yes and she took them all up there.
"If you will excuse me, i must go and help prepare the meals for us all, we shall dine tonight as a groupe in Adurna's chambers." She glanced over her shoulder. "Come out Niag. I know your there." A small cat, pure white but for a slash of black down its back came slinking into the room. "When they are ready, lead them all to my chambers." She beamed a second thought into the cats mind, who flicked its tail in acknowledgement.
"there is a bathing chamber not far from here. I trust you know where it is. You must be desperate for a bath by now!" she laughed, an enchanting sound like that of a siren, it left Eris feeling a little dazed. He had never met anyone like Ravinia before now.
"Take your time too, unless you want dinner to be rushed in its making?"

"All right, we're ready to go to the dragon hold." said Galedrim. Equinox looked at his scales, they were still dirty but he just shrugged I've had much worse. He said.
"Well we will see you later maybe?" said Eris as they followed Niag toward the dragon hold. Once they arrived there Eris, Galedrim, and Throat Ripper dropped of their things next to the beds and went to the shower area. Equinox dove into it and swam around splashing water at them while the rest just bathed.
Do you really have to do that? asked Quasar.
Yes. Equinox replied and she rolled her eyes at him.
When they were done they went back to the dragon hold and lay down. This was the first time in a while they were able to rest without fear of being attacked. Galedrim scurried somethings and went back.
"It’s been so long since I have been here." said Eris.
"Yes, it actually feels somewhat like home. Its hard to believe that just over a century ago we lost loved ones only a few miles away from here." replied Galedrim.
Equinox got up and stretched his wings. He landed back next to them. Out of bordem he shot a small lightning bolt at a mouse he saw running around.
"You know what I find odd. Is how Crimson has so many people as slaves. How can he control them all without fear of them escaping." said Eris.
Because he is a dark elf. When I first hatched I entered his mind. It is much different then normal elves. He can easily control a mind and have it act to his will when he is not near. replied Equinox.

Hello, the voice was like mist, slow and soft, and very low. It came from the cat who pounced up onto the ledge of their cave.
I am Niag, but you know that.It twined its self around Eris and Gaeldrims legs, who are you? It leaped away to climb up Quasar and then leapt over to Equinox, settling itself on top of his head.mmmmm....I like you. You have a good heart. Niag looked over at eris,She likes you a lot you know. All you need to do is talk to her.Leaving Eris to ponder his words, it laid down all the way on Equinox and began to purr.
I am supposed to lead you to Ravinia and ADurna's rooms when you are ready, so. Are you ready?

"I'm Eris and he is Galedrim." said Eris. "Does she really?" asked Eris.
Quasar rose up and stretched. I'm ready if you guys are. she said. Throat Ripper came up to them "Would it be best if I stayed?" he asked.
No, you are part of our group. Any way the peraple need to learn not fear urgals. replied Equinox he rose up careful not to disturb Niag.
"Yes, we are all ready." said Galedrim. "Oh and the urgals name is Throat Ripper."
Throat Ripper, take my advice. It would not be best to eat the way you narmally do. Follow Galedrim's and Eris' example/ said Quasar.
"Fine, you humans eat too slow though." replied Throat Ripper.
They all rose up ready to go.

Niag playfully jumped onto Equinox's nose, nuzzling his forhead.
Dont beat yourself up over who your rider is. His actions have nothing to do with you who has a lovely heart. Niag jumped down and strutted over to Eris, causing them all to laugh as he wanted.
And yes, he said to Eris alone,She like you a great deal. Dont blow it. He flicked his tail in amusement. Follow me evryone. He darted out of the dragon hold, yowling in amusement as they had to run to keep up.
Sorry, i love doing that to newcomers. he licked his mouth. trotting down to the lower levels of the hold.
Adurna and Ravinia are waiting for you at the room on the far end of this tunel. And i am off to get some fish from the kitches. He streaked out into the gathering night.

"Naig is asking a lot of you, not to do anything stupid." Galedrim teesed his brother.
"Shut up." replied Eris.
He is a strange cat, but I like him though. Its hard to believe how far I have came, from a cave in the forest to this. said Equinox.
Well its not your fault you had Crimson, but lets stop talking about this and go in, I'm hungry.
And you and Quasar complaine to me when I was hungry.
Well Equinox, Eris and I don't go around trying to eat birds. said Quasar as they walked down the tunnle to the door.
They went down the tunnle and to the room. Eris' heart rate went up when he saw Ravinia Quasar was about to trip him when Equinox told her Don't Quasar, spare Eris for now.
Fine Equinox, but don't expect me to show you any mercy when you find someone you like. replied Quasar.

Who, Throat Ripper? Quasar teased. Equinox just growled at her. As they all entered the room.

Adurna looked up and smiled at Gaeldrim and Eris.
"I see Niag didnt lead you in circles like he does most newcomers, he must like you. Please, be seated." She motioned to the table laiden with heaps of food.
"For the dragons i had the most tender of cuts brought up, i hope they like them." Adurna sat by the fire and warmed her hands. Ravinia stood by her sister, chatting with the Urgal.
"Dearest little serpent, i thought you found Urgals to be distasteful?" ADurna teased.
"Dragon Heart, i find myself taking a likeing to strange creatures and people lately. You are among them." She teased right back. Ravinia moved over to the table and began to pick out food for herself. She nearly took all the grapes on the platter of fruit.
"I have a weakness for grapes." She confided to Eris when he wandered over.

Equinox sat down Thank you. he said and started to eat.
"I see' I don't mind grapes to much. Probably because when I was younger Galedrim layered them with salt. I didn't know he did he hid it with magic." said Eris.
"You just had to tell him I did that didn't you Quasar." replied Galedrim grabbing a chicken leg.
Yes. Quasar replied.
"How long have you been part of the Varden. Galedrim and I have been part of it for years, but this is the first time in awhile we came here. This food is really food." saif Eris.
They continued to eat and Equinox How long has the Varden existed, this is the first time I have ever been here. he asked.
"Since around the time Galabatorix came into power I think." replied Galedrim.

"Ah yes, Galbatorix, the king of black hearted demons." Adurna stood up and threw her wine glass into the fire and walked out of the room. Ravinia stared after her.
"It's been 10 years and the old wounds are still raw for her." She shook her head. "There is nothing we can do. Adurna must make peace with herself, for she blames herself for our parents deaths. I dont understand it and i doubt you will. So, on to more pleasent topics." She turned to GAeldrim, "Did you really salt the fruit?" She laughed, her blue eyes dancing like the ocean.

"Yes, it was a year after Quasar hatched for Eris and I. And its tradition every time there was a knew rider the year after they threw a party. Eris kept taking it so I just poured all the salt onto it and hid it with magic." said Galedrim.
"Yeah, I will have vengence. Then a while after that we were attacked by a small force of GAlbatorix's men. We held them off thanks to Sceptar and a few others. Then about a week later more soldiers came along with Galby and Crimson. That was our first encounter with those black hearted fools." said Eris.
And you Eris, were wise enough to charge Galby and almost get your self killed. said Quasar.
"I wasn't that smart at that time."
And you are now?
"Any way that is how we met the Varden. This meal is really good." said Eris.

"Thank you." Ravinia said, "I grow the fruit specially. This is my first batch of this season." She smiled at him. "Dont worry, there's no salt in any of my food."She got up and moved gracefully to the table and picked up an instrument. She began to play a sweet melody, with currents of sadness and longing running through it. She hummed along with the tune, losing herself to the music.
"Its a long farewell until we meet again,
sweet child of my heart.
And i wait for you beautiful one,
lost in the gardens of time.

where never may i follow,

crying tears of bitter anguish.

Ravinia's voice was like black silk, it filled the words of the song with sorrow and mourning. It went on for several minuets, and when she finished she placed her instrument in her lap, tears in her eyes.
"I wrote that song for my parents, but i think it is for your loss as well." She whispered.

"That's really good," said Eris the others agrred. He looked at her and smiled it was really ggod and the others even Throat Ripper enjoyed it.
"How long did it take you to write it? If any of us tried to do that even for three years strait we could't make anything that good?" he asked.
He's right that was good. It seams every one in this room has lost loved ones. said Quasar.
What about Throat Ripper? asked Equinox.
When we found him, his clan was wiped out by Crimson and Galby. I don't know why though.
They then stopped talking the melidy of hte song still in their heads.

Ravinia wiped the tears from her cheeks and let out a shuddering breath. "I never wrote it. I thought about writing it down but...it's more of an internal thing. I carry the words inside me so no one can spoil it with bad music or voice." She smiled. "After my parents were killed, i stopped talking. Every time i spoke Crimson would do something to me. So instead i sang to myself. He seemed to think it was funny. But for some reason whenever i sang he would leave. I think it had something to do with love. He couldnt stand being near love." She shook her head. "I am sorry. I just wanted you to hear it. It was not my intention to bring sadness upon us all. Instead, i would like to raise a glass to all the good memories of our lost love ones who have taken the final journey without us." They all drank and Ravinia set down her glass on the table. "Niag." She called. The cat came bouncing in, "Oh my faithful friend. I can always count on you to be listening in. I am tired, Niag. When my guests are ready, will you lead them back to the dragon hold?" The cat pured and leaped into her lap. "Yes, Niag, i love you too. Now off with you, Silver Fur." He crawled out of her lap and she stood up. "If you will excuse me, i want to take a walk before i retior." She cast Eris one last glance before opening the door and exiting. Niag jumped up on the table and batted him on the side of the head with his clawed hand.
Now is the time to talk with her. Dont be a fool about it. He said to Eris, blocking the others from their conversation so they would not know what he said to Eris.

Eris shrugged and went out and followed Ravinia. He went through the dorrway and walked up to her. She was very beutiful.
"Thank you for inviting us to eat with you. We all enjoyed it. Don't worry about Crimson he is probably more intrested in trying to kill Equinox and my brother than anything else for the time being. There was know need to be sorry it was very good."
Eris then thought about something, Crimson's brother one of the few who followed him who wasn't under mind conrtol or by Galby's orderes. "I was wondering if you ever met his brother. I dn't mean to bring back any bad memories but Equinox met him once during a battle and said he didn't seam as bad as Crimson himself was."

Ravinia's eyes lost their haunted look, replaced by gratitude. "Yes, i met him. He was very kind to me and ADurna. I think he liked her, im sure of it in fact. And she liked him. He would do things for us when Crimson was gone. Take our bonds off for a little each day. I dont think it was a trick, but...I miss him. He made it bearable for us. If i could i would go back and rescue him. Its only a tie of blood that keeps him with Crimson, i think. But i dont know for sure. Why did you come out here?" she asked him, walking in the shadows she came to a small pond, lit by moonlight that was able to stream in from the top of the mountain.

"To talk," Eris replied. He went out to the pond and looked at it. He wasn't as good at magic as his brother was, but he cupped some of the water in his hands to scury it. He wanted to see if Crimson was still unconsious. What he saw was a bronze dragon standing next to Crimson. He wondered where he had seen the dragon before than remembered that he saw flew over them ealier. He wondered if the dragon served Crimson and why. He let the magic go.
"I likw that sight." he said looking at the mountain. It was the elven blood in him that made him more acute to his surrondings.

"Its my home" She said, toosing her hair over her shoulder. She knelt down by the pond and dipped her fingers in the water, singin softly to it, the ripples that spirald out from her finger tips lit up as if the sun were shinning on them. She stopped singing and the light faded. Eris looked at her, startled.
"I have magic. Adurna doesnt know it, but i do. It's my voice. If i chose to do so, i could bewitch you like a siren andhave you pledge undying love to me." She smiled, "Lucky for you i prefer the oldfasioned way of earning love. Just the same, i could cause someone to hate another person. But its only temporary. Adurna got her pwer from the ancients at the graveyard I took you to, and so did I. But mine came fromt he spirit of the water nymphs." Ravinia put her feet into the water, and all traces of tension melted off her face. She slid gently into the pool with hardly a sound, submerging her head beneath the water. The pool was about the size of a small valley, and when she broke the surface, she was nearly half way across it.

He watched her go into the pond with amazment. He walked somewhat into it, but he knew even if he tried he could only hold his breate for at the most five minuets and with magic for longer, but he would eveuntally frow too tired from it.
"Yeah I guess I am lucky in that way. Although, I do like you so... it may not be that bad. What you and Adurna can do seams like very powerful magic. At first I though it was elven than dark elf magic but now, I think your is the most powerful." he told her.
He sinced Quasar trying to tell him something, but he pushed her out of his head.
"When you talked about the water nymphs and the ancients can you communicate with spirits. Equinox said he went to a large tomb eairler and he spoke to people who were long dead. Is that sort of what you mean." he asked her.

She dived under. and he saw the flash of a mermaids tail flciking the ater. She came up at the shore and rested her head on her arms.
"You shouldnt block out your dragon, it might be important. And, in a way, yes i spoke tot eh ancients that way. But the ancients are the originals. They are the first of every species on this planet. When they died, their spirits lingered, absorbing everyone of their kind to die after them. Now, listen to your dragon Eris. She wants to tell you something." Ravinia sank back under the water only to leap out again like a dolphin, laughing at the freedom given by the water. She had missed it so much, being in water. It was such a big par of her now, it had been hurting her to ignore it.

Eris let Quasar into his mind What is it? he asked somewhat annoyed.
Have you scurried Crimson latley like you were supposed to? she demanded.
Yeah, why he is still unconsious.
Not anymore. That Bronze dragon awoke him.
What!? You have to be kidding. Why would a dragon serve him! demanded Eris.
I don't know but the bronze dragon awoke him. His alves followed him they aren't headed here... at least when Galedrim scurried them they weren't. replied Quasar.
You have to be kidding me? Why, wait how could a dragon reverse that kind of magic?
I don't know Eris. The spell was already weakining so that could be part of the reason, ask Ravinia mabe she knows why. replied Quasar.
Ok. replied Eris.
"I am going to have to go soon. According to Quasar a bronze dragon awoke Crimson. They aren't heading this way though." Eris said.
He then contacted Equinox Does you leg hurt? Eris asked him.
Know its allright. Like Quasar said they are not coming this way. Equinox replied.

Ravinia swam back to shore and got out, her clothes perfectly dry.
"Crimson again. I want to come with you, and i am sure Adurna will as well. She will want to try to see Crimson's brother again." She pulled her hair back into a not at the base of her neck. "Let's go." She said, her face a blank mask.

"All right, we weren't going to go until tomorow but, we can go now if you want. I'm going back to the dragon hold to get what me and the other need. I'll contact Equinox and Quasar.
Equinox you take Throat Ripper and Galedrim to the dragon hold, Quasar meet up with me and take me there.
They'll get you things I'll stay with you two. This could be bad if Crimson really has a dragon on his side. That means, so does Galbatorix. replied Quasar.
"It could be risky going expecially if he is headed toward Ur'Abean then we could be fighting a large portion of the amry." said Eris.
We can easily over run them. said Quasar.
Reading my thoughs again Quasar. Your right but remember Crimson doesn't care if his slaves die he may just leave them behind.
His lose, then we can remove their mind control.

ADurna came striding up to them. "I know whats going on, with Crimson and with you two." SHe glared at Eris, "Ravinia, go back to your room, now. You are not coming." Ravinia grabbed her sisters arm and pulled her over to the pool.
"Who do you think you are, ordering me around like that?" RAvinia demanded.
"I am the one who kept you alive after our parents died, and i am your older sister who knows whats best for you. You are staying here." RAvinia shook her head.
"You cant stop me Adurna. Im going, I'll ride with Eris if i have to, but im going. I am done with waiting behind for you to come back, if you come back at all. From now on if you leave i come with. End of discusion. I have learned to sword fight and i am better at archery than you. You need me." Adurna glared at her sister, her mouth a razor slash of fury.
"Fine then, but you dont know what your getting yourself into."
"And what about you? Are you going to try to rescue Crimson's brother?" Adurna flinched as though someone hit her.
"Thats none of your business. Go and get your things. I want to talk with your sweet heart." She turned her eyes to Eris, and he took an invlountary step back.
"Dont hurt him." She whispered as she turned away.
"I wont," Muttered ADurna., "Permanently, anyway."

Eris looked at Adurna, he knew that she was angry. He took another step back. Quasar, I could use some help. said Eris.
Don't worry, what have you gotten you self into this time. she said.
Eris broke his communication with Quasar and looked at Adurna.
"I didn't do any thing to her, I was just standing here when Quasar contacted me. It was her idea to go not mine."

Equinox and Quasar flew back down from the Dragon hold Carrying Galedrim and Throat Ripper. They also brought Eris' stuff.
This could be a problem. Do you know where Crimson was going? asked Equinox.
"No, I just know he wasn't going this way. Unfrotunitly we don't know where he acually lives. I know its somewhere near the capital." replied Galedrim.

Adurna stared at him for a long time, her hand on her sword. "She is innocent, in mind if not in body. I hope you know that Eris. I count you among my friends now, but if you hurt her, you will pay the price. As an Elf you are near immortal, and she is as well, having been touched by an ancient. remember that if you choose her for a mate, you wont be rid of her in a few years like you would a mortal. And i will be around to watch you. Try anything beyond a kiss or a hug without speaking vows in the ancient language, and there will be a reckoning. I wont have my sister becaom a mother on her own." Adurna stalked off after her sister.

Equinox, Quasar, if you can here me, meet me at the graveyard. Ravinia sent out her thoughts, hopeig the dragons would here as well as Eris and her sister.

"No, I wouldn't even think of hurting her or anyone like that." Eris said. He followed them to the graveyard. Behind him Equinox and Quasar flew toward them with Throat Ripper and Galedrim.
Galedrim tossed Eris his sword and when he grabbed it the blade glowed red for a few seconds than back to normal.
"I'll never get used to your sword doing that." said Throat Ripper.
"Yeah, well when Quasar toushed it it is basicly infused with fire." replied Eris.
"Like Crimson's blade."
"Sorf of, but he can infuse his with anything."
Why are we going to the graveyard? asked Equinox.
"I'm not sure, but it probably not a good idea to ask question right now." replied Galedrim.

When they got to the graveyard they found Ravinia resting in the middle of a pond there, waiting for them on a rock. Adurna looked at her questioningly.
"Ravinia, what's going on?"
"Its time Dragon Heart. We need to talk to the Ancients about seperating Crimson from Equinox." Adurna sighed.
"What esle?" She asked.
"we need to bring the others into our magic."
"WHAT??" Adurna shrieked.
"If we combine our power we can stop Crimson in his tracks." Adurna splashed out into the pond, her feet barely sinking into the water inher agitation.
"How can you ask me to help in that?! Not to mention the little fact that confering with the ancients takes up almost all our enegry!"

"I don't know about that. We appreciat the offer, but Balbatorix would be able to reach him before we do." said Eris.
Know, do it, Crimson has more power than we know of. We need to be as prepaired as possible. Eris, you know when I told you about his first battle with my master? Well Crimson has grown much stronger. Even though we hate eachother we still have the mental link. I think, that is how he know where we are. He can read my mind even better that you can with Quasar though you two accually like eachother.
"But they would be wasting their enegy just to help us!"
They will recover and its not like Crimson is only a few hours away. replied Equinox.
"All right, Galedrim, Throat Ripper do you want to do it?" asked Eris.
"Yes if it will help us." replied Galedrim.
"I don't know how I will help you I'm not nearily as powerful as any of you." said Throat Ripper.
Perhaps this will enable you to use magic. said Quasar.
"Perhaps but think it about it an urgal using magic." said Throat Ripper.

ADurna was out numbered and she knew it.
"Fine!" She yelled, sitting down on the rock she grabbed Ravinias hands.
"You stay silent anddont move, or else the magic could kill you." She looked at Ravinia,"Get ready Little Serpent, this will be even more of a drain than when you got your powers." They started breahing, slowing to match their breaths. Then, when they were at a matched pattern, they moved their clasped hands in small circles that slowly began to increase in size.
"Hear us, oh ancients long since past. Hear our plea for audience with you. Our friends of this world are in danger from a dark Elf. They need help to rid the land of Evil, as you so long ago pledged to do. Give us an audience with you, so you may place judgement on their souls, to see if they are worthy of the gift you can give." They stopped moving, and silence fell. For a while it seeemed like nothing would happen, and Thraot Ripper was about to say something when Quasar silenced him.
Look at their faces she said. For indeed, something WAS happening. Their skin began to glow, like there was a fire inside. them. Their mouths moved as if in speech. A howling wind came up, wipping their hair about their faces.
SPEAK YOU WHO CALLS US FORTH a thousand voices came from the winds. And it buffeted them about like a leaf. Only Quasar could keep herself still, and ADruna and Raviniva, who remained seated, chanting softly with their eyes closed.

Equinox rose off the ground. He was still moving around so he went back to the ground. Uhhh, I'm Equinox and the urgal is Throat Ripper, the copper dragon is Quasar the other two are her riders Galedrim and Eris. said Equinox keeping low to the ground. He felt his leg burning, but he doubted that was because of Crimson being near.
Throat Ripper was thrown to the ground his axe flew next to a grave. He tried to retrieve it but Galedrim stopped him.
Equinox you should tell them why they were called. Galedrim told him.
Are you sure, I'm not sure if we are supossed to speak any more. replied Equinox.
What could happen.
Equinox thought of a million things that could happen but took his advice. I wish to be sperated from my rider if that is possible. he said quietly still feeling foolish if he wasn't supoosed to talk.

Orbs of light came out of the graves and the plants and water, even out of the air itself. They massed together in a giant sphere.Adurna and Ravinia continoued to chant, but now their eyes were open and they stood up.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS YOU ASK OF US? came the thousand voices. It blasted all of them down, even the dragons. The voices sounded, not angry, but suprised.

Sorry I just wasn't sure if we should talk. I wish to be seperated from my rider Crimson if that is possible. He is evil and has done many evil things. We can't kill him or I'd die. Also, we wish to be your powers. said Equinox trying his best not to sound like he just wanted power. Then it made him think he wondered if he gained more power if Crimson would also.

BE AT EASE YOUNG ONE, THE FOUL ELF WILL NOT GAIN POWER. YOU MUST SPEAK WITH THE ONE WHO HAS NO NAME. YOUR ANSESTOR, LITTLE DRAGON. HE WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU WISH TO KNOW. The orbs seperated until one was left, and it grew until it took the shape of a dragon, so massive in size they all had to move back as it filled the space, that was made of pure white light that hurt to look at.

Equinox tried to look up but had to look back down because of the light. It took him a moment to come bakc from shock, II have helped others escape from him and Galvatorix. I will help rid the land of him along with Crimson. My friends mean a lot to me, so I wish to help them along with everyone else in this world. I wish to take vengence on my rider. He decervis what he will get. I promis I will never use my power for evil. said Equinox.

The beast snorted great clouds of smoke.No, you will not abuse your power, none of you. I will grant you what i can, as will the others, but non of your powers will equil that of the two who summoned us, as you are already powerful on your own. And as for you, little dragon. You wish to be seperated from your master? Very well. I can seperate you. But I must warn you, you will come out of the seperation very different. I cannot say for certain what you will become. There has not been a free dragon for many ages past. Are you ready to bear that burden?

yes, I'm ready even if there is change. said Equinox. Thank you for helping us. said Equinox as well as the others. He wasn't sure what would happen but, he was ready. He didn't know what would happen but if it gave them hope of slaying Crimson and or Gably he was ready to take it.

Very well. The dragon bent its head to the other and touched his nose to Equinox. Equinox keeled over, twitching slightly. Adurna and Ravinia, guided by the light, came to each of them in turn and laied their hands on them all. Each time the person they touched also keeled over. Finally, when all was done, they lights seperated and settled over Adurna and Ravinia for a moment before falling into the graves. The two women collapsed on top of eachother.

Equinox felt odd, it felt as if his mind was free and but at the same time it was for once inside only his not Crimson's. He and the othes were tired because of the magic. They went over to Adurna and Ravinia.
"Are you two ok?" asked Eris.
"Equinox what is it like not to be bounded to Crimson anymore?" asked Throat Ripper.
Different. I think I am finally free at last. Now that means my leg won't hurt anymore so, we woun't be able to tell if he is close to us or not.
Your complaining?! You should be grateful. said Quasar.
I am, very grateful for what they all have done. replied Equinox.

Adurna sat up, blinking hard. "Gah, i never get used to that." she rubbed her eyes then looked down at Ravinia, still out cold. "Poor little serpent, you didnt realize how much strength was needed." She sighed, pulling her sister up. "Someone help me with her. I cant carry her when i fly."

I'll carry some one. Four people is too much for you Quasar. Besiders I get lonely flying by myself. said Equinox.
"All right, she can ride you and I will also. If none of you mind." said Eris. They lifed her up onto Equinox.
This could be a problem though, I have know saddle. he said.
"Don't worry, I still have a few stripes of leather. We don't have time to make a saddle so I'll just use thyem." said Galedrim. Using magic he made the leather into somewhat of a saddle.
They harnessed Equinox and secured Ravinia on him and Eris god on Equinox as well.
"This feels different. I'm used to riderQuasar. No offence Equinox, but you are very... sma;; compared to her."
He snorted Not my much, but hurry up.

Ravinia groaned slightly, her head lolling as they placed her on equinox' back. Adurna examined her sister, testing her reflexes and pulse.
"No serious damage. She's got a mild concusion, but her own magic should take care of that. The water sprites are notoriously fast healers. Still, Eris i think you better hold on to her so she doesnt slip off in the air." Adurna stepped away from Equinox, spoke a few words in a liquid sounding language, and her wings burst out of her shoulders. She fanned them a few times to get the blood flowing to them.
"Thats better. Before we go, mandatory weapons check, all of us. I dont want anyone going out there with faulty sword or armor." She pulled out her own sword and tested its sharpness on her hand, it sliced through the skin like wax paper. She smiled. Then she pulled Ravinia's bow off her back and tested the string. It gave a satisfactory TWANG when she let it go.
"Is everyone ready?" She asked, slipping it back into Ravinias Arrow tube.

Equinox set of a bolt of lightning at the ground. Nothing had changed for that and Quasar was the same. Eris pulled out his sword. He and Galedrim smacked their swords into eachother. Throat Ripper swung his axe with speed unatural for an urgal.
"We're ready." said Throat Ripper.
They mounted Equinox and Quasar. Eris made sure Ravinia wouldn't fall off of Equinox.
Are we going to follow Crimson? asked Quasar.
"Yes, the only problem is if he flew on the bronze dragon he could be really far away by now." replied Eris.
Traitor, if I ever meet that dragon I will tear his wings off. replied Equinox.

ADurna smiled as they took off into the air.
"Gaeldrim, Eris, heh, have you even thought to ask what gifts you have been given?" They shook their heads. She glided over to them. "You have been give the ability to track anything, and anyone. I have the abilty, but its muddled with the rest. You however, have it undiluted. The full gift. You can track through the air if need be. When we get to where Crimson was, you will see what i mean." She glided over to Throat Ripper. "You, my good friend, have been given the speed and agility of the wild cat, and the strength of an elephant. Use it well." She glided on to Quasar. "You, dragon, have been granted the ability to control minds and read hearts. A valuable gift." She glanced over at Equinox.

OCC: Does Equinox have a thing for Quasar?
IC:"Equinox, your gift i cannot say yet. Because of your unique situation, the ancients didnt divulge to me what they have given you. Aperently you must find out for yourself what it is." Adurna glided back over to check on Ravinia. She was stirring faintly, making little moans, her head dropped back onto Eris's shoulder, and Adurna Raised an eyebrow at him, but didnt say anything. He guessed this was her way of saying he had her permission now. She flew Up to Quasar at the front of the group and started talking with her quietly. They were discussing the best time and place to go down and make camp.
Ravinia opened her eyes, touching her hand to her forehead.
"Ow." She muttered. "Wasnt expecting that." Then she realized she was leaning against someone and looked up at Eris. "Hello again. Did i miss anything important?" She asked.

OOC: Sort of, mainly just friends but yeah he does slightly.

"Not really, we are just about to leave and Adurna just told us our abilities. Well except for Equinox because the Ancients didn't tell her what he was givin." replied Eris.
Its odd. I am not used to carrying any weight. You two aren't much but it still feels weird. said Equinox.
What can you expect? You have never carried another person on you before. replied Galedrim from on top of Quasar.
Eris desided to try and track Crimson. He wasn't sure if he had it right, but he would still try.
I think, he is going north east of here. Many elves and humans and a dragon are with him. I think he is geeting all the people under his mind control with him. Eris said to all of them.

ADurna called to Shahin. "Can you go down and search for tracks until we get there to make camp?" She asked him.
I can. I will se you down there. Shahin flew off. Kyragai twisted himself more securly around Adurna's midsection, and Kitana sat on her back.
"Stop clawing me Kitana, it hurts when you move!" Adurna said sharply.
"Sorry Adurna." She said out loud. There was a moment of stunned silence.
"Did you just..." She trailed off. Kitana was so suprised she almost fell off, but Kyragai looped himself around her.
"I guess the ancients didnt just affect you guys, Adurna." Kitana said. ravinia stared at them both.
"Oh my God. Of all the things to happen. Who'd have thought it." she looked up at Eris. "Much as i'd like you to keep holding me, i think i can support myself now." She smiled at him impishly, "Unless you ask nicely." Adurna looked back at them but said nothing. She knew her baby sister wasn't a baby any more and had to let her go.

Equinox shook his head. As much as Eris was his friend he still thought he was actig weird. Eris kicked him in the side Equinox just grunted.
"Ok, if you don't mind I'll still hold onto you." said Eris.
Quasar looked at her rider and shook her head. She then looked down at Equinox to read what he thought. He quickly tried to sheald his mind.
What do you have to hid? You know now if I wanted to I could eaisly ge the infromation. said Quasar.
I won't tell you. replied Equinox.
"Thats odd that they also were affected. Still we may have more hope of winning." said Throat Ripper.
Its getting darker out, we should probably land soon. said Quasar.
I'll take first watch. said Equinox.

"Right, i see a watering hole down below us, we'll make camp there." They flew down and Adurna set up a protective ring around them.
"Equinox, you can have first watch but only if Gaeldrim gies with you. You'll follow by Eris and Quasar, then throat ripper and myself." Ravinia jumped down from Equinox. "What about me?" She asked.
"You Concentrate on getting the rest of your strength back and keeping the protection ring up." Adurna said, taking her bow off her back.
"Im going to hunt. No, stay here. I hunt alone." She left the ring and went out into the dark.
"Will she be allright out there on her own?" Asked Gaeldrim.
"Oh of corse, she doesnt need her powers to protect herself. She actually hates using her magic. She hunts alone because she grew up out here, in this area." Ravinia paused," We are very near our old home. I think she's going to pay her respects."

Equinox went to the watering hole and took a long drink out of it. He then went next to Galedrim. He sunk his claws into the earth then pulled them out.
Galedrim, do you know anything else about dark elves. I have been meaning to asky you for a while but never got around to it. said Equinox.
"Not that much, I just know that Crimson is one of the last in existance. They were an old race they came with the elves but were seperat from them. This may be hard to believe but dark elves don't get their name because they are nessicarily evil, the do because of the magic they use. You know when Crimson flees the magic he uses. He gets it from the shadows." replied Galedrim.
"Like a shade?" aked Throat Ripper.
"Knoe, I don't know much about them though." said Galedrim.
"Quasar, did you land here because you knew that the ruins of their home was here." asked Eris.
Know, my power isn't like that I can only read others hearts not minds, though I could if I tried to take control of their mind. I wonder, if my mind control is better that Crimsons. wondered Quasar.
"Its probably about the same. Remember Crimson has been able to do this for a long time." replied Eris.

IC: Adurna felt at home in the desert, she didnt mind the mountains but they crowded her spirit. She fitted an arrow to her bow and stalked out into the night. She knew this territory, knew it well. The watering hole they camped at was her childhood haunt. Moving silently, she crept past a hurd of camels, marking them on her internal map for an easy kill on the way back. Several minuets later, she came to an old abandoned trail, crumbling away into the sands. Memories sprang into her eyes as she set her feet onto it. Walking like a ghost in a dream, her old home rose up from the night like a nightmare. Blackend lumps that used to be houses lay jumbled and disintigrating. She closed her eyes, and then she was back.
Screams echoed around her as the buildings went up in flames, smoke burned her lungs as she clutched her sister to her. They stood in front of their house as her parents screamed inside, trapped, held there by the soldiers surrounding the structure. tears cleared away ash in streaks on her cheeks as she cried silently. Ravinia, who was to youn to know what was going on stared dumbly at the fire. A man came out of the black, he put his hand on her shoulder and turned to watch the fire burn its self out. She looked up at him and saw he was crying too. A second man came over, and the first let go of her shoulder. The second man had blood red eyes and a horrible leer on his face as he looked at Ravinia. She instinctually held her sister even closer. He laughed as he watched his men butcher her friends and family. Adurna opened her eyes again, unable to take the memories.
"I knew you'd come back here sooner or later." She whirled around. Crimson stood behind her, leaning against a building.
"You did, did you?" she walked over to him, something was different, he didnt seem threatening now. She peered closer, his eyes were black, like a forgotten pool of water. This wasnt Crimson. It was his brother.

Adurna rubbed her eyes, hard. This couldnt be happening. She opened her eyes again and he was still standing there. She moved forward as if in a dream. She touched a hand to his face. "It's really you. I cant believe it." She wanted him to hold her, but instead she removed her hand and took a step back. "Ravinia is fine. We've both changed greatly since we last saw you." He looked at her curiously. She spoke a word and her wings sprouted from her shoulders.
"I am no longer purely human, Septarons." She sent her wings away and turned away from him, walking to her old house.

"What happened to you after you escaped? It doesn't matter I don't care if you are not fully human." said Septarons. He looked over at the ruins of the village. He hated the fact that he himself took part in this even if he killed no one.
He thought of his own parents who Crimson were killed by dragons when he was only an infant. He knew it was nothing compaired to what happened to Adurna though.He looked around to see if any of his brothers mind controled pawns were near. He knew if they were they would tell Crimson. He didn't see any of them so he had know need to worry.
"I am sorry for what my brother has done." said Septarons.

"That wont bring my parents back, now will it?" she said, harshly, then she looked ashamed of herself. "Im sorry. I didnt mean to yell at you. You want to know what happened? I'll tell you. Your brother left us to die in the desert, but i kept the two of us alive long enough for the Varden to find us." She ducked under a wooden beam, rooting throught what was once her room. "Then i went out on my own, i trained myself to fight, became the Vardens top assasin and secret mission specialist." She picked up a small box, metal with a thick lock. She tucked it away into her bag. Septarons caught up with her.

"Don't tell me about those kind of things. Its interesting and Crimson may already know but if he reads my mind he will find out Whats in the box?" replied Septarons. He felt someone trying to tell him something so he opened his mind.
Where are you Septarons I told you to be back by now. said Crimson.
Sorry brother I, ran into someone. I am near the place where we saw your dragon and the others a few day ago. he replied hoping that Crimson did not no he was lieing.

Adurna looked at him for a moment. "Crimson will be asking you where you are then?" she saw his amazed look, "I saw your face go blank. This box is nothing important. Just family heirlooms i lost a while ago." sh moved over to him. "Come back with us. Leave Crimson behind. Stay with me." She put her hand to his face again, her eyes pleading.

"I don't no if I can. He raised me after my parents death. I no he is evil I just not sure if it is a good idea. Besides the others wouldn't except me. In my encounter with Equinox I attacked him. He spared me though. Even if I do come, it will be more of a threat. He will more eaily be able to find us." replied Septarons. He really wanted to go he just wasn't sure if it would be safe for Adurna if he went. He looked back at her "I guess I'll come, but we could be in dangur if I do."

Crimson is here! Come now! she beamed her thought to the others back at camp, along with her location. Crimson moved forward, and she leapt back with a hiss like a snake.
"Demon." She said, her body transforming. Wings sprouted from her back, her features angled and became snakelike and feline at the same time. Her nails curved into perfect claws, and her canine teeth elongated into razor sharp fangs dripping venom. She looked down at her new appearance with aproval. Her eyes lighting up with white light.
"The ancients did some work on me. How do you like it?" she asked them both, performing a twirling leap into the sky, fanning the wings that changed from supple, liquidy skin, to blood red leathor, she grinned at Crimson.
