Its probably going to be either arya (if she dies) ,oromis,or brom. What do you think?

i only have 1 question did brom tell eragon that if eragon tried to bring someone back from the dead he will die trying?

The first book, Brom said to Eragon, "You can't bring people back from the dead. You'll use up all your energy and die trying."

So Eragon won't bring anyone back, unless he's willing to kill himself in the process. Actually it'd be pretty cool if Arya dies, Eragon/Saphira die bringing her back to life, and Arya kills Galby only to live alone and depressed. >:3

maybe not. Maybe he thought it wouldn't be good for him to bring back his dragon because galby would just kill it again.

or maybe brom didnt have enough energy to do so. also keep in mind there is still the VoS which can have anything in it. and then eragon might be able to bring someone back but i bet it will either be Brom, oromis and gleadr, or eragon 1 and bid'daum.

hey you hit on my theory. I think that is what the vault of souls will allow eragon to do, bring back 1 dear person to him. I think either Arya or Saphira will die and Eragon will use whatever is in the VOS to bring them back. About brom not having enough energy.... he was the owner of Aren the ring with enough energy in it to easily destroy an entire castle.

Eragon has to bring someone back from the dead. I didn't even think about Aren.

Aren dosen't have enough energy to activate Brom's 'spell' so what does, the only things I can think of is Galby's entire eldunari treasure hoard or whatever is in the VOS which brings it back to my theory.

Maybe the 'spell' would be a way to bring people back without dieing,like I said before. Eragon can't die because of Angela's fotune telling,so the spell would probably take a lot of energy and Eragon would use Aren.

which dosen't explain why Brom wouldn't use the spell and the energy in Aren to bring back his dragon.

I agree that Brom you can't bring back the dead with a spell relying on the type of magic Eragon knows which rules out the Brom and 7 words things which dosen't make sense anyway. I think that the VOS will allow Eragon to perform a piece of magic that shouldn't be possible like bringing back the dead . The name vault of SOULS seems to suggests something like this. Before you say Brom said it was impossible to bring back the dead Brom nor anyone else seems to have an idea about what the VOS is much less what it can do.

true remember when eragon told oromis about it oromis didnt know what the VoS is and oromis is very old he was alive way before the fall but he doesnt know what it is or where it is.

I know people have said this before, but Oromis said that he'd heard of the vos but couldn't quite remember it. There is probably a spell on the vos like there was on the names of the forsworns dragons.

no there cant be a spell bc w/ the dragons of the forsworn they made it so u cant remember their names but if oromis remembers the VoS then it cant be that

I didn't say he remembered it. I said Oromis said the name rings a bell but he couldn't quite place it. It was the same way with Arya too.

There are plenty of reasons why Eragon would bring somebody back from the dead.
1. If Arya dies Eragon would bring her back from the dead because of how much he loves her.
2. Same thing if Saphira dies.
3. He would bring back Oromis or Brom to complete his training.
4. I think he will bring back Brom from the dead to talk to Brom as Brom's son.

maybe, maybe not he just might bring back vrael himself. but there are a lot of people for choices............BUT HE MIGHT BRING GALBY'S FIRST DRAGON BACK

it might break the spells that hold shruikan to galby and he migt help eragon and the varden

Since it's all just speculation and speculation is good fun, I thought I'd join in.

Okay, so say, regardless of anything else, there is a way to bring people/dragons back from the dead.

I thinkk there would probably be some restriction on WHO you could bring back.

ie. Someone who's body was unharmed (perhaps Brom? that crystal coffin would prevent any kind of decomposure)

Or perhaps someone who's mind or spirit remains in Alagaesia, (perhaps a dragon contained in an Eldunari, in which case it would probably be Orimis)




Also, I think the chances are that if you brought someone back without dying from the energy there would be other complications, ie. the person would be "incomplete" or you would perhaps unknowingly bring a Shade into the world.




I don't necessarily think that Eragon will be able to bring someone back, or any of these things would happen, I just think it might be interesting to discuss. What do you guys think about these theories?

i think that they could happen but it could/might bring huge problems.

yes but i think it will be oromis. i would say glaedr but he is still alive but he is in his Eldunari so i think it is oromis and im hoping that oromis will be whole if eragon brings him back

The reason I think Brom would be brought back instead of Oromis is not only because he would help Eragon kill Galby but also becuase I really think Eragon and Brom need to have a father son chat.

Regardless of the fact that Brom is his father, Eragon and Brom had a deep connection, and Eragon loved him dearly. That's why I think if anyone is brought back, it will be him.

well i stil think its goingto be oromis bc if u remember eragon wasnt done be taught by them and oromis sid they taught them everytingthey could in the short time they had but i bet there r still things eagon needs help on.

Arya and Oromis also both warn Eragon that spirits in general usually want to overwhelm the one who attempts to use them, because to do so is to attempt to enslave another lifeform, one with great power no less. I don't believe Eragon will bring anyone back to life. For starters it wouldn't be right for him to play God that way, and if he did it wouldn't be Brom unless Eragon was very selfish. Given the pain that Brom suffered through in his life and the peaceful nature of his death it would be unfair to rip him from his peaceful slumber and place him back into the world where he would have to return to living on without his Saphira when he stated quite specifically that without her life didn't feel worth living anymore.

A huge if would be that if Arya died Eragon may be inclined to attempt bringing her back, but I really can't see how he could even with his ring or whatever the Vault of Souls is, because it would still take just as much energy to bring a person back to life as it would to do so yourself and even then the person may not live. it would require knowing in intricate detail how to get every organ working properly, how to repair whatever killed a person, be it magical or physical, and so on.. it would be horribly complicated basically..

i agree eragon isnt stupid enough to try and bring anyone back form the dead it is way beyond anyones power to do so.........so i think that eragon wont bring anyone back. unless he can gain the trust of thwe dragons heart of hearts galby stole and they help him bring someone back from the dead

i would like to see eragon bring someone back but i doubt it will happen

so true brom should not be brought back from the dead and it should be like oromis or gleadr or maybe even both and make sure they r perfect and not disabled
