Tricks of Fate

Gender: Guy Affiliation: Dragonriders	Tricks of Fate OOC - anyone can join IC- Ezerre flew as fast as he could over the waters of the large expanse of ocean. He craned his neck back and blasted 7 jets of greenish gold flames at his pursuers. He heard 4 yells of pain and guessed that he had hit four of the Army's birds. They were about half his size, but extremely fast and powerful, and with the aid of the Army men on their backs, he wasn't sure he could defeat them and still make it to the coast. He knew not what land may lay ahead of him, but he was determined to find it and go back to retake his homeland as soon as possible. There was a small problem though. Going to a foreign land with Army men behind him could cause him to not be able to go back to Orthin in as much as ten years. They were strong spellcasters, but he hoped he would not underestimate them as his family had the day they arrived in Orthin. After a few minutes, he was extremely glad to see land ahead of him. It would not take more than a few minutes to reach it if he flew fast, but his wings were tired from the long flight and he desperately needed to rest them. The giant blackbirds behind him were slowly starting to catch up. He put on a final burst of speed and crashed in the sand in front of him, then slowly got up and turned to face his attackers. _________________

He saw a dragon crash into the sand and it seemed as if a small fight had broken out. Galedrim didn't think the dragon came from this land so he probably wouldn't know that he was a soldier of Galbatorix. He saw more enter the fight and went up to spectator. He didn't join yet, he decided to help the side that would be more likely to aid him in his quest. He went to the beaches to watch the battle though prepared himself in case any should attack him. She noticed something moving, and fast, with her sight. Phal flew closer, curious. She was flying in her trademark way of being high in the sky and assuming the appearance of a star. Phal got closer and saw that an enormous greenish colored dragon was flying towards Surda. Following him was a group of hostile-looking black birds. Phal drew even with them, but far above, when a new dragon and rider entered the scene. Hmm. Newcomers. But that green dragon doesn't look like he's from Alagaesia, especially if he's come dragging those things around, Phal thought, eyeing the blackbirds with interest. She then noticed a hominid shape on the shoreline after the greenish dragon crashed. Galedrim, Phal thought angrily. She had heard of Quasar's rider abandoning the cause of good and turning evil. For now, however, she would have to ignore him and deal with the newcomers. Hello, everyone. I am Phalynx, she said to the two dragons and the rider. Welcome to Alagaesia. Would you mind explaining where you're from and why you're here once we deal with these birds? she said, directing her thoughts at the large green dragon. Phal swooped low and blasted one of the black birds with flame that resembled burning starlight. As he fell Turion behead one f the birds and landed on another one. Driving Narce into the birds spine he turned and stabbe the skeleton looking rider. As the bird lost altitude Turion jumped off again but this time Síoc caught him on his back. Little one i shall pin you down and lick the skin of your hide if you ever do that againSíoc released a small growl but he was proud of partner-of-his-soul-Turion for being so daring in battle.Síoc was always surprised at what the two-legs do wether it is two-legs-round-ears, point-ears, small-enough-to-squish or horned-two-legs they all had courage upon the field and Síoc amired that even if it all was enevitble to win. He had not expected to see dragons so soon again, and especially not in a foreign land. He noticed that they were all smaller than him, but they did not seem to be weak at all. He quickly locked his talons on a blackbird's neck and slashed it apart, then blasted the skeleton on its back with a giant fireball. It broke apart in midair and a piece of it launched at each of the other dragons. The Army man cackled with laughter. Its shape was like that of a human, but it was a skeleton, and where one arm should have been there was a long bone in the shape of a blade. It did not look sharp, but Ezerre knew that it was, and that it was the source of the Army men's magical powers. That blade, he knew, could penetrate even his tough scales. He also knew that these other dragons were in trouble if a lot of the Army had followed him and were on their way. He did not want to cause them trouble. He looked down at the small, silverish dragon. Hello, he said. My name is Ezerre. I am here because my homeland, Orthin, is in danger. My race over there is nearly extinct, and I have come to ask for help. I do not want to see myself as the last dragon from Orthin. Unfortunately, the ones who caused so much death in Orthin have followed me. Their numbers are large, so they could have sent quite a big force to follow me. They are called the Army, and they are extremely powerful in magic. That blade shaped bone on their arm is also very powerful. Do not underestimate them, if more come. _________________

I don't know if its fried of foe yet. Might as well wait I can kill or capture it later. He watched the bird like creature, that one flew at him. He jumped out of the way and drew is sword. "Oh good, I needed a bit of taget practice!" Galedrim said. He sliced at the bird and it flew up and dove at him. He said a few words in the ancient language and the bird started to screech in pain. Its body was being slowly ripped apart. It fell to the ground and Galedrim stabbed it in the chest. He looked waiting for more birds to fight him. He noticed human like creatures with a skeleton arm. Hmmm, I think I'll fight you. Indeed. I am the only one with such a gift. It is pleasant to meet another rider and dragon, she answered. She had been chosen to carry the powers of the stars with her; it was her duty to all of Alagaesia and the world to use them wisely. Greetings Ezerre. I had no intentions of underestimating these things, but with your warning I shall be more wary. Be careful of that man on the shore, all of you. He is on the side of evil, of Galbatorix the evil king, so do not trust him and do not get to near to him, Phal said, warning them of Galedrim. Phal danced away in the air and came face-to-face with one of the skeletal members of the Army. It gave her a malicious look, but before it could propel its bird forward to attack Phal blasted them both with starfire and then swooped upwards. She barrel-rolled right over the bird's back, swiping at it and the Army thing as she tumbled. She swung backwards over the other end of the bird and flipped completely upright in time to slash at its gut with her hind legs. The bird screeched in pain and fell, streaming blood from its wounds. Phalynx wasted no time and soon fell upon her next victim. She had not yet met a creature that could match her agility in the air, at least compared to other things of its own size. He sighed and was about to speak once more when he heard a bloodcurdling screech in the distance. It seemed to come from a human. A cold chill started creeping over him as he realized what must have been happening. Somehow, part of the Army that had followed him had sneaked away and gotten here before him, and they had started the killing rampage. He turned to the others. Please, you have to help me. They are vicious creatures, and they are very good at killing. Regular men will be no match for them. Once they kill enough people, they will gather enough energy to devise a spell to keep me tied to this land for as much as ten years, and I need to go help my race. If not for me, then do it for the people of your land, he said to everyone. _________________

IC: Kit was sitting on the top of an old, abandoned watch tower, with Shyara curled up below, when they heard the blood-curdling scream. Kit bolted to his feet as the screams continued, Shyara, wake up, something is happening over in the village! Shyara had waken from the scream, but did not hear it. After Kit called her and she heard the continual cries of pain, she up on her hind legs and faced her back to the tower. She bent her knees and pushed off with full force. Let's Go! Kit took a few steps back and waited. When he saw Shyara's head come over the lip of the tower, he ran for the edge and jumped. He landed directly in the saddle as he had practiced so many times before. I'm on, now let's get to that village and rid them of whatever pestilence has plagued them. It seems as if we never get to relax anymore, but I suppose that is the life of a dragon and rider. They soon came into view of the village and where horrified of site. There were human like creatures running around slaughtering the villagers with no mercy as far as Shyara could see. It is one thing to conquer a city, but entirely another to do it with such hate and malice. Yes it is, I always thought Galbatorix was the master of blood, pain, and suffering, but these are less merciful than him it seems. Look over there, she gestured with her head, It looks as if they are preparing for some sort of ritual. Let us break it up then, because there is no way it can be good with this much death. And remember Shyara, these don't look to be from here, so double, no triple, your guard. Shyara roared and dived for the village. She went for the biggest groups of two-legged-no-skins and poured her blood fire upon them. She could not help burning villagers, because some of the skeleton-men where dragging them around. She felt a deep crying pain inside her each time one of the innocents died. When Shyara had swooped down, he jumped off her back and rolled down one of the roofs. He landed in between a group of the Skeleton-creatures and slashed them down as quickly as he could. He ran around trying to seperate Skeleton from villager because he could feel the pain it caused his dragon each time accidentally killed a villager. He didn't care to much that his race was in trouble, but what he did care about was more possible recruits for Galbatorix. He would have to gain the dragon's trust though, or the creature's trust. "I will help you defeat them. Don't listen to what the other dragon says though. She is getting my confused with my identical twin brother Galedrim. I am actually Eris." he said. I know very well who you are, elven-eared one. Galedrim is the rider of Quasar, and he is evil. He has the ears of an elf, while Eris has rounded ears. Do not let this man fool you, Phal said ferociously, her eyes flaring gold. Her scales raised up along her body and she hissed again. She flew next to Ezerre, her fierce appearance leaving. Of course I will help you, Ezerre. Any dragon is my ally, unless they make it known otherwise. Even if that man was Eris, which he is not, he would not be able to help you as well as I could. But first, I will help you defeat these fiends, she said with a determined voice. Any population of her kind had to be preserved; it was crucial. Dragons were rare enough as it was, without yet another war to worry about. Gender: Guy Affiliation: Dragonriders	Re: Tricks of Fate Ezerre looked down at the two-legs. He had no idea if he could trust him, but he had a feeling that Phalynx was trustworthy. He flew towards the town, and being careful to not hit any two-legs, he blasted the skeletons with fire. They did not die so easily however. In the distance he thought he saw a flash of red. Fenirexes flew towards the small Surdan town as fast as he could. There seemed to be trouble. Mesaraih squinted and he saw a green and gold dragon blasting multiple jets of fire down at the town, which was full of people running and screaming. He asked the dragon, Who are you and what's going on? The response was hurried. My name is Ezerre, and I am not from this land. These things are evil and are trying to imprison me by slaughtering a large number of people, but I need to go back to save my land. Mesaraih nodded, not fully understanding but knowing that it would be best to help. He spotted Phalynx, and farther in the distance the distasteful figure of Galedrim, which could not be good news. Fenirexes flew low over the ground and Mesaraih jumped off his back. Fenirexes went to the corner of the town where the Army skeletons were trickling in. Mesaraih stayed at the center, from where he started to save as many people as he could. He drew his sword and parried a blow that a skeleton threw at him. It jarred his bones, and its strength impressed him. He blasted its middle with fire, throwing it back, then slashed it multiple times, finally breaking it apart. _________________

Shyara, how are you holding up? he asked as he blocked an attack did away with his attacker. I'm getting a little tired, but I don't have to do as much now that we have help. She whipped her tail around and shattered the skeleton's that got in the way. Gender: Guy Affiliation: Werecats	Re: Tricks of Fate Anthor and Gornath were flying over Surda on their way to Farthen Dur when they saw smoke boiling up from a small village near the ocean, then they saw them, large "people" without any skin. Gornath knew exactly what to do, he used his "mind dagger" to render many of the skeletons helpless, they were naught but bodies without any brain, they were completely broken. Anthor quickly jumped off of Gornath and rapidly drew Pomnuria'Baen and Garjzla'Sverdar and cut two skeletons in hlve. She swooped down near Galedrim for a brief instant. You fool, I can see the darkness that surrounds you. Eris does not have an aura like that, she growled. If the others were tricked by him, at least she would not be. Phal turned away in disgust and blasted away a few skeletal figures with starfire angrily. Her temper was a little heated at the moment, and she was wise enough to take it out on her enemies. She flapped into the sky and sliced at one of the birdlike creatures's underbelly with her talons, and then burned it with starfire. Kit walked around to the poeple that were laying on the ground checking for life, but most were dead. The ones he found alive he healed and moved to the next. He found one person who had been stabbed through the chest, but the sword had just missed her heart, and it was still in there. Kit would have missed her had she not moaned when he tripped and kicked her leg. He examined the sword and put his hands on it. He looked to the girl and said, "This is going to hurt a lot, but it has to come out. She nodded slightly. Kit jerked it out quickly and covered the wound with a cloth; the girl cried out in pain.
