Blondeblood, I guess we parents should be more appreciative of what you guys do. Sometimes it's SO HARD!
I do light maintenance in the small apartment complex where I live! Yesterday I was painting an apartment we have vacant until July 1st. So I was in a hurry to get it all ready by tomorrow.
Sabrina is useless painting, so when she came up to say she was going to help me paint, I said: Thanks, but no thanks." She got all huffed and complained that I would end up complaining about how every single muscle in my body aches, yadda, yadda, yadda!
So I told her that I was short on time and did not what to have to redo what ever she painted just to spare her feelings.
And I know it was harsh, but she was driving me crazy. She ended up going to the mall!
I don't flip up with her having guy friends. But I guess it's because I was the same growing up.
And most of the time we guy talk a lot! I rather have her feel comfortable talking to me than someone else. But I had to learn to accept her friends with faults and virtues. And her friends are weird looking, loud, and crazy. But that is her choice, not mine.(stupid code)

Yeah same goes with me! It'd been nice to have you as a mom, you seem more considerate of my feelings. Like when my mom got a boyfriend she totally ignored me, but when I confronted her about it she told me she wasn't, and I knew she was!

Exactly my mom just doesn't understand that she does not know what i'm going through!!! We were born and raised in completely different times, atmospheres, and lives! We are not the same!

I think I get along with my mom so well because I worry about what will happen to her a lot because she has a lot of health problems.

No problemo..... I get nervous when I talk to my dad because my parents divorced when I was 2 and I stayed with my mom, and I think he expects me to love him.....

My parents divorced when I was eight. Its hard when your older because they both want you and your torn between them. I still remember the day my dad left, I was curled in a ball in the corner of my room clutching my favorite picture of us... I've always told myself that I could have brought them back together... I guess I was wrong. I'm closer to my dad because I was always scared I would lose him the next day, imagine a 9 year old staying up till 11 at night til' her dad got home to give her a kiss good night, and then leave again in two hours.

Would you feel better about your situation if he quit his job and apoligized?

Thanks... Sorry R. *gives both V and R big hugs* My dads a jailer. He's been assaulted 4 times this whole year and hundreds of times in my lifetime. I'm really close to him for that I guess...

I know how you feel... I think my dad is trying to get me to forgive him, but it is just too awkward...... He is a complete stranger.

Gals, please understand I am not criticizing any one of you! It's just that we too are humans and we also make mistakes and kindda don't see what maybe we are supposed to see and at others instances we see thinks that are not really there.
Parenting is a difficult job and unfortunately when a baby is born it does not come with an instruction manual. Parenting is a trial and error thing, and even if there are tons of parenting books, each situation is as unique as the persons involve.
I have no doubt that you all love your Moms, but you are precisely at the age in which girls and their Moms clash the most.
I came to really enjoy my older two girls when they were adults themselves. But thanks to them and their great big hearts, I've been able to do better with Sabrina.
I promise you, it will get better, and when that time comes, you'll enjoy each other's company more because both sides will be able to appreciate each other more.

Also parents might nag on you because they don't want you to make the same mistakes they did. Or that they want you do excel, to do better than them, to be successful. I say this because that's happened to me quite a bit, with having a lazy bone or two in me.
