Oh my goodness, everyone here had read the books (Eragon and Eldest) WAY before the movie came out, and we were all so disappointed with the movie because it was so bad compared to the books! It left a lot of things out- you really should read the books

Well, if you do watch it my suggestion is to go into it light-heartedly just try and laugh about how screwed up it is lol.

book as good as the movie
dragon_rider_4ever ~
The book is much better than the movie. There are so many differences between the book and the movie. I understand that they cant include everything from the book when they make a movie, but I think they could have done a better job. I'll give you the advice my friend gave me. (If you have read the book) Watch the movie first, then you wont be disappointed. (If you have read the book) Then you may be disappointed. Im sure they did what they thought best. But like I said I think they could have done a better job of it. I dont mean to dissuade you from reading the books. I have bought eragon and eldest and am reading eragon now. hope this helps you.

Books usually are better than the movies. Look at HP, LOTR, and of course Eragon. They can't fit all the detail into a 3 hr movie.

i never read the lord of the rings books. but i did watch the movies. i wasnt impressed with them. they were one of those movies that are ok for a first time watch but nothing to go out and buy. but the hp movies were pretty good. the first two stuck pretty close to the book, the third was ok and the fourth i was dissappointed with. i know they cant do everything in the book but they left out so much of the book. im hoping that movie 5 will be better.

LotR movies would of been 10 hours long if they kept to the books, But I think Eragon should of been at least 2 !/2 hours at the very least.

Book = much better
I've never heard of the inheritance trilogy 'till the movie came out. I watched the movie and loved it! So that got me wondering how good the book is, cuz like someone said, the book is always better than the movie. I recently finished Eragon (the book) and it was AMAZING
After I read the book I watched the movie again, trying 2 relate scenes to the book. I couldn't help myself from laughing at how bad the movie was compared to the book. Even after the first time I watched the movie I thought some scene were poorly done, like Saphira growing up so fast in the sky lol. My guess is that the movie was working from a low budget.
I recommend watching the movie b4 u read the book, that way ur not too disappointed when u watch the movie.
