Ranog nodded to Kit and continued to coax the feldunost away from the ogres. He was ready to go home...

OOC: Pass, sorry, im dry...

OOC: Sooooo which side is Kit on- their original side or the opposite side?

OOC: The original side, from which we were coming; closest to the center. Ranog is on the opposite side of the dragons and myself, right?

OOC: Right. Ranot & Urson are by themselves on the "safe" side, Kit is hanging from Ranog's spear, Shyara and Phalynx are on the same side, but on the ground instead of hanging in mid air like Kit.

OOC: Okey dokey, just making sure. Thanks.

IC: Phal shook her head and smiled briefly at the dwarf. Don't worry, I got 'im, Ranog, she announced, and swiftly turned herself around. She lowered her thirty-foot-long tail down past the ledge and got it right under Kit's chest, and in one quick movement swiped him off the spear so he was hanging on her hooked tail. She brought him up as soon as she felt him gripping the tip of her tail, and plopped him on Shyara's back. Alright let's jump across before these rocks reach us! she cried, backing up several steps. When she was a short distance away, she took a running leap at the other ledge, spreading her wings just a little, and landed neatly on the other side. The crumbling ceiling was only about four or five dragonlengths from the other side of the crevice.

OOC: I'm just going to skip this go around, all we are doing is running through the tunnels; and while interesting, not much to build a post on.

OOC: Question before I reply: since Phal's kinda leading the way through the tunnels, do either of you want something else to happen as they're running? Do either of you want them to face more obstacles before they get out? ('Cause Kit has a point, they're really just running.)

OOC: Draco, you turn. You and me might as well post while we wait for Voenth to get back.

OOC: Yeah I guess I should post. This rp's close to finishing anyway.

IC: Phal continued to lead the way up the tunnel, hoping perpetually that her vision would not reveal a dead end. It did not, so far, but she constantly worried that it would. If it did, she wasn't sure what they would do. There were too many side tunnels to choose from, and none of them went obviously upwards. After a while, Phal began to see something different above them. It took her almost five minutes to realize that what she was seeing was a lack of rock and stone... could it be the surface? I think I see the surface, guys! Just keep going! she cried out, hoping that this would turn out to be the upper world and not just a large cavern. She was getting quite sick of being underground.

OOC: Draco, do you think you and me should finish this one, or should we wait and see if Voenth comes back, or what?

OOC: Maybe wait just a little while (till like September) and then finish it ourselves if he's not back by then. I don't think there's much left to this one anyway.

OOC: I hope no one minds a slight god-mod just to wrap this up and get this one in the archives, I hate for an RPG under my name just to sit =).

IC:
Ranog ran as fast as his short legs would carry him. Urson was far too tired to continue to carry him, and Ranog did not begrudge the feldunost a brief respite from the weight of the dwarf. It was not much later when Ranog began to smell the fresh air outside, he yelled to the others urging them to hurry and get out from under the mountain which was almost falling on top of them. Only a few hundred meters left, they were almost out when the sound of breaking rocks and a great woosh! of air threw the dwarf off of his feet. The dwarf saw the cave behind them collapsing. The dwarf yelled and hurled himself toward the exit. The others had safely made it out of the cave and just as his feet cleared the whole, the last of the cave fell in.

A day later, for the rest of that evening was spent getting a safe distance from the mountain, and finding a safe place to rest Ranog was looking angrily at Kit. He said, "The whole point of me going under that mountain was to mine for precious stones. So I'll be having My ruby." said the dwarf angrily as he sat on one side of the fire with his back against a fallen tree. He took a long puff from his pipe and allowed the smoke to escape his lips leisurly. The dwarf was already lightly tipsy; for after that ordeal the dwarf needed something to calm his nerves and what better for that than a smoke and some mead. Urson, the feldunost had the right idea; he had already curled up next to the fire and gone to sleep.

OOC: Hope you don't mind if I make one last post, then.

IC: Phalynx burst out of the cavern and into the sunlight with her friends, immediately flaring open her wings and launching herself into the sky while letting out a joyous peal into the clear, moving air. She circled around the others, making sure they were all safe. The cave entrance was filled with rocks and debris, but her friends, including her new dwarf friend and his Feldunost, had all emerged into daylight.

The silver spent the rest of the evening and much of the next day with the others, relaxing after the long adventure. As they sat around the campfire, Ranog commented on getting the supposed ruby back. Phal snorted and bent her face close to his. Ah, but it was a Blood Diamond that Kit found, not a ruby. And I believe he is giving it to his mate as a...er... what do they call it....a wedding gift, she replied with a toothy grin. She twisted her head back and took a large bite out of a mountain goat she had killed earlier, relishing the warm flavors. She was still very worried about what would happen to Arkel and Hearth. She knew that the situation with them was not resolved, and would resurface in the future. But, for now, she was content to spend the evening eating and talking with friends.
