Allright now with the new chapter titled "King Cat" out it raises some questions...

My theory on this is that the Werecats have been in the Spine this entire time. Reasons for this are that, The Spine has always been a place of mystery and fear. The people of Carvahall treat it as a place to avoid, people get injured and Galbotorix lost half of his army in there.

King halpaw states something along the lines of "And Galbatorix will learn that it was us who were his undoing" this is past tense. Is this a referance to the fact that he lost half of his army in there?

Another question that pops up in my mind is why was Eragon never bothered while in the Spine? I believe that since Werecats have the power of foresight they already knew the role Eragon would play in the future thus preventing Eragon from harm. Later when Roran and the villagers of Carvahall travel through the Werecats might have been gathering for war.

Before Werecats might have wanted to just be undetected causing misfortune to those who might have discovered there dwellings.

Those are my main reasons for my theory if you have any questions, challenges as to why it cant be true please comment

Wait what? no im talking about the past, Galby would never give them to much power. He only recently started giving soldiers the ability not to feel pain because there was really no threat of war. Sure Surda secceded but Galby never considered them a threat. and besides he was concentrating on breaking the minds in the Eldunari.

Yep thats true, just think what a huge advantage the Varden will have now though, Little mischeif makers, they could poison well's, and some are bound to be strong spellcaster's.

Well i can tell you i like it for various reasons, one its the only theory close to having any concrete evidence, two i wrote it, and three because if thats how it DOES end up happening then i will have the biggest smile on my face.

Guys I know werecats a pretty awesome (their my favorite race) but could they really take out half of galbatorix's army? Thats what 15000 troops? King Half Paw said that there were not many werecats in the world so they would be extremely outmatched number wise...

Ya but theres not that much known about Werecats, we dont know the extent of there powers, plus if they WERE in the spine, thats home turf they would know the spine like the back of there "paws" how many boobie traps, ambushes could they set up? not to mention that Galbatorix's army was considerably less back then, it honestly wouldnt have taken much for creatures of such magic to destroy mere soldiers.

I also think that the werecats live in the Spine, and in Book Four the werecats will probably help Eragon to kill Galby somehow.

Yeah, because one werecat lives in Elesmera.

They might play a big part in book four.
