well, am I the only one who is confused as to why Zuko betrayed Iroh? He looked like he had gone to the good side for a while there.

lol, well if you scroll up youll see we have been talking about this for a while, but to answer your question I think Zuko saw a way to regain his honor and everything back with his father and siter so he took it. The only problem is he did grow close to iroh, closer than he ever will be with his father or sister, Meaning he will most likely go back with his uncle and help ang and every one else restore peace between the nations. But this is mostly my opinion of course, and things may happen differently

don't count on it. There may be evidence for Aangtara (none very substantial. I mean there is practically NO evidence that Katara loves Aang), but there IS the possibility of Zutara happening. He also fits the prophesy and it would be a great plot twist. Plot twists are good!

the scene in the cave. they have potential. Why would Katara feel so betrayed when he attacked them? She only REALLY got to know him for a small amount of time. c what I mean? POTENTIAL.

MAJOR foreshadowing for Aangtoph in that episode. remember when Toph was given the space rock? she put it in between her hands and said "watch this" and manipulated it. where did the exact same thing happen? one word: MARBLES!!! Aang did the exact same thing with marbles in the beginning to show off. Same thing with Toph. Man they are good at being discrete. And man I'm good at finding these things...

i don't disagree with Annie (well not anymore anyways) or...hmm...all of my followers haven't been on long enough to make me forget who they are...well, there were a lot of them...various people will attest to that.

they are the same age and opposites attract (and they are the same height...lol...). That and they make a cute couple.

my point is that they will EVENTUALLY fall for each other. they are setting up COMPATIBILITY. Katara and Aang just don't work very well. Katara is too much of a mother figure to him and seriously, his "love" for her is no more than a simple crush.

they could make things go as fast as they want them to. but a few things have to go in order: first Zuko and Katara, then Aang gets crushed, THEN he can fall for Toph.

Let me remind you, Avatar is very Taoist. opposites attract and balance each other. one can not be without the other. earth is the opposite of air and water is the opposite of fire.

he IS an ordinary, but strong willed and protective, boy on the inside. he wouldn't know whether it was love or not. he is rather inexperienced in this category. so what? he's not willing to give up a crush. i dunno if I would if it was strong enough. I'm just saying, it doesn't seem that true a love. whenever we see him "in love" with her, they always highlight her aesthetic features. CRUSH.

you could not be more wrong about it not being taoist. it is so taoist it's scary. yin and yang have appeared in many instances and everything seems to have an opposite. the two fish: push and pull: traditional Taoist opposites. And the object of all of this is to restore BALANCE!!! It doesn't get more taoist than that. They didn't seem to hate each other in that cave there...and we don't know how they really feel because they have only looked at each other from afar, except in the cave. Personally, I wouldn't use that as an example. it's a terrible example. I don't ship with EVERYTHING. I know when evidence sux to the point where it undermines an argument more than it supports it.

there is only foreshadowing. both have foreshadowing events for both. The thing is that there is no real evidence that Katara loves Aang and there isn't any evidence that he TRULY loves her.



well she shed tears over Jet and she probably will when she sees Zuko again, probably crying "How could you betray me like that? I trusted you!" or something of that sort. she's rather emotional.

him getting jealous means nothing. he could have a shallow crush (which I'm not saying he has, just a really bad crush, in addition to the close friendship they hold = something seemingly very confusing to you guys) and still get jealous. Katara would probably shed tears if Toph or ANY of her friends were seemingly dead. She's just that kind of person.

on a side note, if she had used the water on Zuko, he probably wouldn't have gone with Azula and then they wouldn't have been in that predicament at all.

Who says that the Taoism is limited to bending and the spirit world? we have seen that it also affects the people in the various nations. When the fire nation broke that, chaos ensued. We have seen how opposite forces work together. Why would the main characters be any different. We have representatives of all 4 elements. They could easily end up as a mirror of the elements, balancing each other's opposites and in harmony with the rest of the elements.

I'm not saying that this sets it in stone. It is simply foreshadowing, which is potentially a very powerful tool. But seriously about the aangtoph thing, they did the thing with the rock for the reason of mirroring what Aang did in the beginning. Why do that? to highlight similarities in character and to link them somehow besides the relationship they already have. The same thing goes for what happened in the caves. They linked Zuko and Katara by making them recall how both of their mothers left them, through some means or another.

Pure love doesn't focus on aesthetic features. The times when we've seen Aang "in love" with Katara, Katara's beauty has been highlighted. I don't know about you, but that screams INFATUATION to me. Not love. And it's not like Aang to question THAT kind of thing. besides, if he did that, then the Aangtara shippers would question it too. They like to keep us certainly divided. It creates discussions and boards, like this. And you're wrong about 12 year old boys not admitting that they are in love. They don't really get how important and deep it is, so they don't question it at all. Look. You wouldn't know. You haven't BEEN a 12 year old boy. lol. Yeah, your friend and your only hope is dieing in your arms. Like you won't look like that!!! And Katara is rather emotional.

I'm saying that foreshadowing is erupting and there is already the precedence of taoism in th show. it all fits. All we have seen so far, besides maybe Sokka and Yue, who just connected for some reason, is simple infatuation. crushes. they aren't going to become requited and they are not going to end up lasting. fact is fact.

You've just been saying that it will happen and using a few one-sided scenes that could have more than one reason as evidence, and insisting that YOUR favorite reason is the right one. That makes for a weak argument. one that inevitably will lose a formal debate. I'm not being cocky. If I am, no more than you.
