this is something that i think about a lot, if eragon kills galbatorix, but not shruikan, will eragon have to kill shruikan too? i mean, galbatorix kinda forced shruikan into service, but seriously.

ok when I clicked the reply botton I thought it would be easy to answer. But now that I think about it it is ahrder to answer then i thought.

anyway, I tink he will be freed becuase galbatorix can no longer control him. But galbatorix is still his rider and has been for who knows how long no matter how fourced he is to serve him and shruikan has known nothing but evil most of his life. so I think eragon will still have to kill him.

But then again it is possible that he wont have to....

Well, if his opinion on things changed, then his true name would have as well, so I don't think he supports Galbatorix, but he'll most likely have to die. The Varden wouldn't understand that he was forced to commit all of those attrocities, and therefore he could never live at rest.

It's unfortunate, but he'll probably die with Galbatorix.
