Until we know more about book 4 we will keep all rumors and theory to this topic. Eventually when there are more announcements we will make a section for the fourth book in the inheritance tetralogy.

Well here's something that SaphireSoul (our inside man) told me:

Book 3 is coming out on September 23, 2008, book 4 around December 2009 or early 2010, book 3 being between 450 and 600 pages before the split (which has been rumored to split the 2 books at the death of a major character).

longer would have been better, but.....

anyways, at least for 4 there will be (hopefully) be less of a wait.

From CP of course. I said he was on the inside. But he says that anything CP says, he says "there is a rumor that". lol. So basically, CP makes rumors about his own books, but he doubts they are false.

yea it would take longer since he wasnt finished writing the original book 3... which was about 900 pages.... from what i took out of that movie clip, hes cutting book three at the 600 page mark, and hes still writing book four. Probably the reason for the book still coming out really late ( sept 23 08...) is becuse he had to rewrite the ending of book3 so it end right. I mean if he just cut them and sent it out right away, the books ending might be a little....well...quick, un-satisfying?

yeah, no way it could be him. he's too important-he's off to save katrina, he and eragon have become friends again, etc. katrina might, but unlikely. arya-not a chance. maybe elva, could be nasuada, but i doubt her. oromis will die soon, but who knows when.

ya i kinda agree but you never know who might died i mean they could died but then show up for some reason or another. they might not even have died just made us think that they did...you can never be to carful.

I think so too. It woudl be really weird if they "died", but they "came back to life" even though they rally didnt die at all.

i am kinda glad that he changed his mind...it would be a disappiontment to not know what happens. each time i read a series and it just ends i feel like crying because i will never know what happens.

im kind of split.. im glad hes counting the books but ive already forgotten half of what happened in eragon since i read it in 8th grade and b 4 the 3rd book comes out im gonna have to reread it and eldest. that means since the 4th book comes out a year later im gonna have to go back and read them all again. i guess thats just the price im gonna have to pay lol

Book IIII is probably going to answer most of the questions that Eragon raises. Such as The Rock of Kuthian, Vault of Souls, and if they can rescue the last dragon egg and who it will hatch for. Some of these questions are from Eldest and what me and my friends have talked about.

i wonder what the cover arts gonna b like because there are only three dragons which are being used for the 1st 3 book covers.. mayb they'll use the gold dragon for the fourth.. or mayb they'll save the green dragon 4 it but i doubt it. im not gonna even try to guess what the name will b other than that it starts with an e

cp decided to split the books because he had so much story left to tell and if he had put it all in book 3 it would have been over 1000 pages. so instead of trying to squeeze everything into one gigantic book he decided to make a fourth. nobody made him do it

For the cover of book three i heard that it was a green dragon facing to the right.... thats only what i heard, i think its on Wycipedea (sp)... you could look it up. Dont know about what the name will be...

yea the 3rd book should have the green dragon on it. i think its rumored to b called empire, but thats just a rumor of course. he could name it anything.

do not click on the theories to be discussed just keep going down that page and you will see Who will ride the Green dragon? and so on and that site has some really good theories and some might not be in book 3 but they might end up in book 4 because CP said that he was pretty much cutting B3 in half
