OOC: I will join! Phal's not gonna stand for one of her buddies turning evil! lol

IC: Phalynx could sense something to the southwest. Something was wrong, but she didn't quite know what it was, yet. She had a feeling that there was a new evil, but something told her it was much more complicated than that. She would have to go and find out, and put a stop to whatever evil it was if possible.

Phal flew for a few hours, following her senses to find out what was wrong. She began noticing an increase in dark magic, which was a strong indicator of an evil presence nearby. Ahead, she could only see one figure, but after recognizing him, she was confused. Mesaraih wasn't evil... Phal held back a little, unsure of how to approach him. Something was wrong with him, something was terribly awry.

Fenirexes nodded. I can feel him, but I know he can't feel me the way I can. But at least for now we can find him, he said. He's to the North of here, straight. We'll get to him soon, he said. And with that, he took off.

Mesaraih looked back only once towards the burning camp. His eyes widened as he saw a man crawling out from the camp. His skin seemed to be almost completely black, apparently from the scorching flames he had just been in. Even as he watched, he threw off most of his clothes, which were burning, and weakly started to get up. Mesaraih sent a ball of energy at him, and did not look back again. It would follow the man until it hit him, and he knew the man was too weak to be able to avoid it in any kind of way.

What he didn't see, though, was that just at that moment, a large beam of wood fell right in front of him, protecting him from the blast. He was blown backwards, but remained alive. He set off towards Yazuac, which was not very far. He would notify everyone he could that a Rider had betrayed them and was on Galbatorix's side.

After a few minutes of travelling, for Mesaraih had not gone too far, Fenirexes could see him in the far distance of the horizon. He quickly sped up his pace.

Mesaraih looked up and immediately saw two distant shapes flying in the horizon. He cursed. He had not yet thought of how he would get rid of him, and apparently he would not be able to escape for very long periods of time because Fenirexes could still sense him. He quickly bactracked his pace and ran towards the town, Yazuac, where he could buy himself some times and think of a plan.

Meanwhile, the witness from the rebel camp had just only made it to Yazuac, and a couple of healers immediately took him in his care. The man knew of rebels that were incognito in the town and told them of the news. A messanger was sent to spread the news.

Mesaraih started to wake up. He felt he was being pinned down by Fenirexes, and he knew the dragon would be able to sense he was coming to. The best he could do was block his mind from everyone so he could think of a plan without being eavesdropped on.

Fenirexes found it hard to be consoled by words, but he did feel a little better after them. He was about to give a sigh when suddenly both he and Phalynx were blown back several yards. When he looked back up he could no longer see Mesaraih, and the dark voice of Galbatorix resonated throughout the area. "If you want to get to Mesaraih, you'll have to infiltrate Uru'baen itself." This was followed by a soft laugh. Fenirexes ground his teeth. Galbatorix was up to something, he knew it. The way he had Mesaraih bound at the moment was probably not enough to risk leaving him in their company for too long, but he could still not guess what Galbatorix could possibly be planning.

The Varden's main camp was already receiving the news that Mesaraih had become a turncoat, and everyone was ready to attack should he appear anywhere near them.

Phal blinked her eyes sleepily, but held them open, looking around the dark, shadow-filled grove. Mesaraih would have to be watched carefully, and constantly kept close until he proved his allegiance one way or the other. She still wasn't ready to trust him until that point, but wanted badly to do so. It didn't feel right to be so wary of a past friend.

She glanced at Fenirexes, noting his unease, but could think no more on it. She had to sleep. Phal allowed her eyelids to sink heavily, and was almost immediately carried into a deep sleep.

OOC: Time for a Time Skip.

IC .::. Mesaraih looked at the two dragons, suddenly feeling empty inside, and completely brainwashed. Some time had passed, and Galbatorix's influence seemed to be fading. There was no reason for him to follow the man who had been the cause of all his problems, was there? Why not just give in to the coaxing of his dragon and Phalynx? He sighed and looked up at them, both, thinking deeply.

A small group of soldiers moved forwards. They had planned the ambush in the best way they could, and hoped to get rid of the new menace in Alagaesia as soon as possible. There was a spellcaster with them, enabling them to track down Mesaraih. Apparently they were not too far away now. It would not be long before they reached him.

Phalynx slept restlessly. Her dreams were filled with frightful occurances and filled her with unease. Yet, she could not wake from them. Phal was far too tired to be awoken even by the most terrifying dreams. Her wings twitched occasionally as she tried to escape from various dangers and take flight, though there was always something that dragged her back down. Outside of her dreams, and in the real world, it was a little past midnight.

OOC: Ah, I guess you have something planned for the night. lol. You can decide when morning arrives.

A dark shadow lurked behind a boulder. It had waist length blue black hair, bright sapphire eyes, and a irridescant black blade in her right hand. The rest of the ambush, led by her, was crouched behind her. She trained her keen eyes on the three figures. She told her group to stay hidden, then she crept forward. As she entered the dark camp, moonlight hit one of the dragons on the face, revealing scales the color of starlight. Phalynx! What was the young dragon doing here?

The elf woman shook her head, and turned to the dragon & Rider pair. A cloud shifted, and that dragon, too, was revealed. Fenirexes! And....Mesaraih? Yes, the small lump sitting close the red dragon was indeed Mesaraih. But, how could that be? She knew that Phalynx would never join Galbatorix, even if threatened with death.

Instictively she knew that more was going on than the eye could see. She contacted the spellcaster with her group and told him to lead them back to the main part of the Varden. He argued at first, but she stabbed at his mind with hers, and he then agreeded to go back.

Having made sure that her friends were safe, she sheathed her sword and sat on the ground close to Phal, out of sight from Fenirexes and Mesaraih. She spread out her wings to shield Phalynx's face from the bright moonlight. She noticed that the dragoness was twitching and trembling from time to time, as if in the middle of a nightmare.

[color=#8000FF]She placed a tender hand on the crown of Phal's head, bidding the bad dreams to leave this dragon alone. She smiled,"Rest easy, young one. You are safe as long as I'm here." she murmured, caressing the small scales that covered the dragons face.

I made Felecia part of the ambush team to help me, but I can edit so that its a different team instead of the one you mentioned.

Felecia stared long and hard at Fenirexes, her sapphire eyes drilling into him, and no doubt making him uneasy. She could tell that he wasn't saying something, but made no move to push for information,"Very well." she said, relaxing her expression. Her eyes moved over to Mesaraih, and her eyes shimmered with emotion,"Is he injured?" she murmured, transferring her gaze to the sparkling red dragon.

The pain in her wing slowly increased, but was mostly bearable. Not so, however, when a tongue of fire lanced across her back, causing her to cry out. Ebony! she cried. Reaching for Phalynx with her mind, she gasped through the pain. Go, he's in trouble.
She noticed vaguely that Mesaraih was awake and alert, before she herself fel unconscience.

Ebony stretched his mouth wide as the muzzle pin was removed from his jaws (OOC: Assuming Phal already did so). He saw the silver dragoness staring at Uru'baen. He joined her fixed gaze. The dark city looked too quiet for his liking. Growling, he crouched in preperation to fly. Under his paws, he felt the ground tremble. He looked down in surprise. A crack was quickly spreading from where he stood, to Phal and Fenirexes. His eyes widened. Fly! Now! he bellowed, jumping forward and driving his wings down. His body lifted into the air and hovered there. Tendrils of darkness reached up from the crack to grasp and pull at anything it touched.

A small tendril slithered up and tightened itself around his left hind leg, just above the knee. He howled as it burned him. Twisting, he snapped savagely at the darkness. It burned more harshly, as if responding to his attack with its own. He snarled, then folded his wings and dropped. The tendril seemed surprised by his manuver, and loosened its hold on his leg. Prying loose the first made him become in range of others. Three more darkness tendrils grabbed his other legs. All of them burned him like acidic fire. Breathing deeply, he released a savage black flame on the dark ropes holding him.

Ebony gave a grim nod of thanks to Fenirexes as the red dragon blasted away the darkness that had grabbed hold of him. He winged closer to attempt to help Phalynx. Giant writhing snakes of black blocked his path. Some tried to grab him again. He managed to dodge away from their grasping tendrils just in time. His manuver brought him closer to the silver dragoness. His eyes glinted with evil, and he grinned savagely; he couldn't wait to sink his serrated fangs into her flesh. He shook his head hard, shocked at the thoughts that had just crossed his mind. He realized why.

Phal, Fenirexes, get away from me, now! The darkness turns anything it touches evil! It has got me! he bellowed, trying to get away from his friends. The darkness, however, had a strong will on him because they had held him for so long. They forced him to the ground. Six tendrils lunged from the main pack and sped toward him. He fought the hold on him, but wasn't strong enough to break their hold on him. Two flew into his mouth, causing him to sputter and cough. The other four wrapped around his body, causing his spikes, talons, eyes, and scales to a deepen to a fiercesome black that resembled a void of everlasting darkness. A black light shone from the dragon's eyes piercing through the light like a sharpened knife. Soon it disapated, leaving his eyes a eerie glowing black.

The completely black dragon lifted his head and bellowed his rage to the sky's. Following the bellow was a magically inhanced voice that vibrated through everyone's ears,"Barzul! I wanted to catch you, Phalynx. I guess this dragon will do for now. He has powers as well. He also gives me an edge over you. You can't kill this dragon. He is your alli and close friend, is he not? Let me offer you a deal. Come to my citadel without a fight, and your friend will remain under my service, but alive. Otherwise, one word from me and he's dead. I can kill him in an instant, so make your chose a wise one." said the mad king. He cackled with crazy joy of his power over the two dragons,"I could also have him capture you, and that would work as well, as you can't hurt him without hurting his Rider." added Galbatorix.

The black dragon, now named Reona Abr Rauthr, meaning Reaper Of Misfurtune in the Ancient Language, reared his head back and roared at the sky. He snarled at the star dragoness. He could sense how much his master wanted her, to control her powers as his own. Reona coiled his muscles in preperation to spring on the silver at his master's command. The male red dragon didn't look pleased. His tail swished threateningly. He calmed himself when his master touched his mind. If the silver dragoness refuses to go without a fight, tackle her and force her to come. I don't care how you do it, just get her here. If you come to me without her, there will be a serious punishment awaiting you. growled Galbatorix, stabbing his mind harshly to prove his point. Yes, Master. murmured Reona, bowing deeply to the mad king in his mind.

Seeing that the silver dragoness and the red male were having trouble beating back the dark tendrils, Reona harshly hissed a command in the language of darkness. It reluctantly retreated back into the crack and disappeared from sight. Stepping forward, Reona bared his fangs savagely,"What say you, silver? My master doesn't have all day to wait for your answer." he growled in the language of the dragons, so that only the silver and red dragons could understand him. The black glow in his eyes intensified until it seemed that black tails of power trailed from the sides of his eyes.

I can't believe I'm even typing this.lol I started posting this earlier, but I lost all the info when I accidentilly backspaced. Then I got mad and logged off. I reposted as much as I remember typing before....with a litte bit more added.lol

Galbatorix felt the strength of the silver's mind, and winced. Her anger and determination were adding to her power. He stabbed at Reona's mind. Tackle her now! I'll fend off her mind. he bellowed, creating a shield around his servants mind. Reona screached, a sound a dragon shouldn't ever make, and pounced on the silver dragoness. His talons were mere inches from shredding into her hide, yet he froze, as if a spell had been placed over him. He snarled and redoubled his efforts, determined to rend her scales and force her to come with him to Uru'baen.

Deep within his mind, something was stirring. Something that was lost, and now that something it cared about was being threatened, it was coming alive. Reona's void black eyes flashed golden, then vanished. The being inside was too weak to fight the darkness holding him. Reona bared his fangs and lunged for the base of the silver's head. His mouth closed over her slender neck, but did not bite down. His talons shimmered bright silver. The black dragon snarled again in frustration. Breathing in, he attempted to breath fire on the silver's neck. He exhaled hard, but no withering inferno appeared from within his maw.

Reona was dumbfounded. What was protecting the silver from harm? It was not magic, he knew that much. It seemed like it was something within him that wasn't allowing him to harm the star dragoness. Backing away from the silver, he snarled, his muzzle wrinkled in an ugly grimace of warning. Something within me isn't allowing me to hurt you. he hissed, flaring his wings. He was agitated; what on earth was inside him protecting the silver?

Laying weakly on his side, panting heavily for breath, was the fighting form of Ebony. His sides heaved; his trusting gold eyes were clamped shut with pain. His mouth lay open, his rasping breaths the only sound in the blank mind of Reona. Although it hurt beyond anything he'd ever known, everytime the evil form of himself tried to mortally injure Phalynx, he contradicted the action with one of his own. He was weak, but to let his own body harm his friends filled him with anger, giving him strength, and he kept them safe.

Reona bellowed and retreated into his own mind to defend himself. The silver was ferocious in her attack. He circled the golden dome within his mind, the prison of the former spirit. He roared savagely with his thoughts. Ebony is as good as dead! My name is Reona Abr Rauthr, Reaper Of Misfurtune! Your friend is no more in control! he bellowed, launching his own attack. Contacting the ancient dragons that Ebony had been able, he wrenched power from them, boasting his attack strength by almost triple. Jumping inside the golden dome, he towered over the broken black dragon. His claws resting on the heaving belly, he clenched his shimmering silver/void black talons into a fist, digging the tips harshly into the soft underbody scales. Ebony bellowed loudly in pain. Blood flowed from the wound. Come and find your friend. He's here; but you have to get past me first. snarled the black dragon, his harsh eyes slashing.

Ebony only vaguely heard the voice of Phalynx, so in pain was he. He felt the ground vibrate as his darker half landed beside him. He did not try to ignore the pain as the razor sharp talons cut into his soft underbelly. He bellowed, pain from the new wound radiating into every inch of his body. He weakly reached for the mind of silver-scale-Phalynx. Don't...try to...fight him. He will...destroy you. he gasped, already to weak to continue.
