Black Fire: One of Lethira's favorite abilities is Black Fire, which is a sinister flame created by black magic. She uses this as a method of slowly burning a victim to death. As long as she concentrates on her victim, the fire can not be extinguished. However, if her concentration is broken, the fire goes out. Wards can protect one from the fire for a short period of time, giving the target a chance to potentially counter attack. This ability drains energy at a medium rate, which makes it great for torturing a defeated foe, but not very good for use in a duel.


Combat: Lethira is extremely talented with a sword, as she carries two of them. She prefers a hand and a half sword called Nefarious though she carries a wakizashi called Isen as well. Lethira has had plenty of practice with a sword and is even capable of duel wielding, though she rarely does because the different swords she uses make it difficult to do. She is every bit as deadly with a sword as any elf, if not more so. She is also talented with other weapons as well, such as her bone staff and spear launcher.

Black magic: Lethira excels in various forms of black magic. She can even strip someone of their true name, though she can only do it if she has managed to learn their true name. Her dark spells include the ability to cause extremely agonizing sensations all over one's body, breaking into minds, and other forbidden magic. She does not use simple killing spells unless necessary though because she sees them as being too simple and painless. Most of her spells require large amounts of power and so Lethira relies on her magic more for protection or torture rather than fighting.

Character Personality: Cruel, sadistic, short tempered… To say that Lethira is evil would be an understatement. She is rotten to the core and enjoys every bit of it. This vile Shade lives to cause pain to others. In fact, it seems to be her only purpose in life. The terrified cries and pleas of her victims is like music to her ears. Lethira is a sadist, to say the least. It brings her great joy to murder the families of her enemies in the most painful and sadistic ways she can imagine right before their eyes. Lethira is clever and cunning and intentionally makes herself seem weak to fool her enemies. However, she is also witty and sarcastic, though few people who know her actually appreciate her sense of humor. Lethira lives off a strictly carnivorous diet. She often enjoys making her prey suffer, just like she enjoys making her subjects suffer. Lethira hates dragons because of something that happened during her childhood. She has never revealed what it was but her quest for revenge ultimately led to her becoming a shade. Lethira seeks to eradicate dragons from existence and while she ruled the throne of Danthuania, she almost succeeded in driving lighting dragons to extinction. She would have succeeded had it not been for a meddlesome lighting dragon named Violeta. Lethira now wants to avenge her humiliating defeat at Violeta's talons and rid the world of dragons once and for all. She admires other evil people such as Galbatorix, although she knows that she will one day have to kill him to realize her ultimate goal of world domination. On a side note, Lethira is very arrogant and refuses to use her magic to kill dragons, instead relying on her array of weapons to get the task done.


Character History: Little is known about Lethira's childhood. In fact, even she herself has forgotten the truth. All that is known is that Lethira was born on the continent of Danthuania, a tropical land to the south of Alagaesia. At some point during her childhood, Lethira experienced a bad encounter with a dragon. Although the exact nature of this encounter has never been revealed, it lead her to hate all dragons. A the age of thirteen, Lethira used a bow and arrow to kill an adolescent lightning dragon and took one of its teeth at a trophy. Since then, she had killed many more and each time, she took one of their teeth as a trophy, which she made into a necklace. Eventually, Lethira tried to invoke the power of evil spirits to give her more power and it resulted in her being turned into a Shade. The demonic spirits took over her mind and turned her completely evil. Wanting more power, Lethira began to enslave people, wiping them of their true name and therefore their identity, and reducing them to souless shells that followed her will. Before long, Lethira had amassed an army, which she then unleashed upon Danthuania's capital, killing the ruling government officials and burning the city to the ground. She quickly assumed control over the land of Danthuania, turning the prospering land into one filled with toil, suffering and strife. During her reign, Lethira's army hunted down the lightning dragons of Danthuania until only a few remained. Lethira remained in power for over 150 years. During this time, she received news of Galbatorix's rise to power in neighbouring Alagaesia and even thought about contacting him. However, she decided against it, instead choosing to wait until she had eradicated all rebellion in her own land before going to someone else's. One day, however, something unexpected happened. RUmors began to circulate that a lightning dragon from Alagaesia had come to Danthuania. Lethira was not worried though. She had fought and killed many of them in her day and one dragon from Alagaesia could not possibly be that big a deal. She was wrong. The dragon was Violeta, the dragon of Natagath. Upon witnessing the carnage and suffering that Danthuania had been forced to endure under Lethira's rule, Violeta decided to take action and save her species from extinction. She took command of the dragon resistance as well as the human resistance and combined them both into one movement. Violeta led the resistance movement with deadly efficiency and in just two short years, the resistance had retaken several key cities. Then Lethira made her costliest mistake. Infuriated by the success of the rebellion movement, Lethira deployed her army in vast numbers all across Danthuania in an effort to discover the location of their base and to destroy them once and for all. In the process, she left only a few troops to defend her castle. Violeta quickly took advantage of the opportunity and led an attack. Caught off guard, Lethira's forces were quickly overrun and she found herself face to face with Violeta. After a great battle, Violeta gained the upper hand by unleashing her firebolt ability on Lethira, which caught the Shade by surprise with a bright flash of light. When Lethira was distracted, Violeta proceeded to rip her body apart, thus ending her rule and liberating Danthuania. However, Violeta did not realize that Lethira was a Shade and because she had failed to pierce Lethira's heart, the evil shade just regenerated somewhere else. Now Lethira is on a quest for revenge against Violeta and on a crusade to rid the whole world of dragons forever.


Weapons: Note that Lethira never carries all these at one time. She picks the weapons she carries based on task at hand.

Spear launcher- This weapon is used to kill dragons and other large creatures. It consists of a hollow wooden tube with a set of arms on the side that hold the string. This weapon is about four feet long and looks like a big crossbow. There are slits cut in the side to allow the string to be pulled back inside the tube. The arms fold up and lock in place to make the weapon easy to carry and store. It works the same way two. Metal tipped spears are inserted into the front of the launcher and as they are pushed back, they force the string into the firing position. When the trigger is squeezed, the string releases and the spear is launched at the target. There is a clear gem embedded in the back of the launcher that stores magic which can be used to enhance the effectiveness of the weapon. The spear launcher is equipped with iron sights and is primarily used as a dragon killing weapon. Lethira carries several three foot long spears in a quiver on her back.

Nefarious- A deadly and fierce sword, Nefarious is a hand and a half sword with a black blade that is three feet long. It is forged from the same material as a rider sword. The top edge is lined with serrated teeth and a blood groove runs the length of the blade. The blade forms a triangle shape designed to inflict a wound that can not be stitched shut without the use of magic. This is a weapon Lethira carries with her at all times in a hilt on her left hip. The sword has various intricate carvings in the hilt.

Isen- A wakizashi with a silvery colored blade, this deadly sword was stolen from one of Lethira's many deceased foes. Like Nefarious, Isen has a blood groove running its length and Lethira often coats the blade with poison so that even the slightest wound is deadly. It is only about twenty inches in length which makes it easy to conceal and carry. The hilt is encrusted with gems used to store energy. Lethira usually carries the sword in its sheath over her left shoulder as a secondary weapon.

Hand grenades (NOT modern grenades)- These are cast iron balls filled with a highly explosive substance set of by burning a fuse. Lethira carries four of them in pockets under her robes and lights the fuse using magic. The grenades each have a blast radius of about three meters. When they explode they turn the metal case of the bomb into a shower of deadly fragments. These can be used to clear a room of enemies or to simply scare the daylights out of people.


(grenades have existed since ancient times so I don't think they're too advanced for an Inheritance rp.)


Bone Staff- A sinister staff that Lethira stole from another Shade, this staff is made of human bones and contains a skull shaped diamond on the top which stores energy. This is one of Lethira's favorite weapons because of its special ability. When the staff is struck against the ground, it emits a wave of magic which instantly reduces everyone nearby to skeletons. The ability is easy to block, however, and even a basic ward can protect someone from its effects, but it can wreak havoc on non-magic users and Lethira finds it very amusing to turn villagers into piles of bone. This staff also makes a great clubbing weapon.

Character's Physical Description: Lethira is about six feet tall. She has deathly pale skin and yellow sharp teeth. Her eyes are yellow and catlike, with slit pupils. She wears either black robes or gray robes which are designed to give her excellent mobility when fighting. Lethira has long black hair with some red streaks mixed in, giving her an even more threatening appearance. She wears her black sword, Nefarious, on her left hip and her other sword, Isen, on the back of her left shoulder. Lethira is tall and thin with bony hands that appear so brittle that the slightest touch could snap the fingers right off. Looks can be deceiving though, because she possesses enormous physical strength. Lethira also wears a chest plate under her robes to prevent her heart from getting pierced by swords or arrows.

Dreams for the Future:
Goal 1: To kill Violeta.
Goal 2: To wipe out all dragons.
Goal 3: To take over the world (cue the Nostalgia Critic's "Of Course" gag.)

Reason for Dreams: Violeta defeated her and cost her the throne, she hates dragons, and because she is a power hungry monster.

Alignment/side: Herself and to all things evil.

Lethira's ship, the Ode to Chaos- Lethira sails around on a sailing ship. It was a ship she owned when she was ruler of Danthuania. Ode to Chaos is painted green with a yellow stripe along the waterline. The vessel has three tall masts and is about two hundred feet long. On the outside, it is a pleasant looking vessel. Inside it is pure hell. The crew is made up of Lethira's mindless drones. As such, she has provided no place for them to sleep other than the hard floor. In the cargo hold of the ship is a torture chamber filled with various torture devices. The back of the ship has several decorated windows in the captain's cabin, which is the only part of the ship that is actually pleasant to be in. The cabin is sparsely furnished, with only a bed, a table and chairs, a book shelf, and a chest in which Lethira stores her weapons. The Ode to Chaos is armed with four ballista designed for fighting other ships as well as other enemies.

Thanks. I wish I could have given this character a flintlock musket or something but I'm pretty sure guns are a big no-no in Alagaesia so I settled for a spear launcher instead.

Well since I havent been on in a while myself...I guess I better get back to my duties then.

By standards its good to go. Very interesting.... I wonder if she could stand against my titan dragon, Bahamut. That would be fun to do.
