 Re: First MomentsPhalynx watched as Jia curled up against her brother, a soft pang of sympathy rising for the hatchling. She heard Zeke and Savania's brief conversation, agreeing with the male. When Galbatorix's reign was ended, young dragons could grow in safety. The silver circled once around the group as Zeke asked about Lean. A quick survey of their surroundings, though very scrutinizing in the direction they had come from, revealed nothing out of the oridinary. Not yet, but we shouldn't bank on her staying in her cave. We should continue on as soon as we can, Phal relayed back to the amethyst, though she spoke to Savania as well. She swiftly folded her wings and dropped neatly to the ground, perched on a rocky ledge slightly above her companions. She wanted to be able to watch their surroundings as they rested. Phal glanced down to watch Jia as she felt the little dragoness's eyes pass over her, sighing sadly after she spoke. We all do, Jia. No dragon likes seeing one of our own kind suffering under the rule of a mad-man. There isn't anything you can do right now, though. Or us, for that matter. For now, the best thing is to stay safe, she said gently to the hatchling, green eyes warm but slightly sorrowful. Phal wanted Lean to be free... she was basically a part of her family. Though she didn't know if she could forgive the ancient dragoness for the pain she had caused Aeraldi.

Re: First Moments I wish we could to. Savania replied to Zeke sadly. She glanced up towards the sky for a moment and said, His reign couldn't end soon enough. He deserves death, nothing but death. Sadness filled her at what Jia said. She wished they could have helped Lean also, but she didn't feal there was much they could do. Quietly she replied to Jia We can just fight Jia. Fight and hope that our efforts bring an end to the evil in the world.

Re: First Moments Jia sighed, the want to help Lean not fading at all. Its not fair. she murmured, her head slumping down onto her paws in defeat. She sniffed softly, then curled up tighter and fell into a restive sleep.

Re: First Moments Phal nodded in agreement with Savania's words, feeling the same way. She was already doing everything in her power to help end Galbatorix's reign (though that was difficult with all the new threats cropping up). When Jia murmured a few words before curling up, the silver blinked sadly at her. The world wasn't fair, in many cases. It was up to those with the power to do so to bring fairness and justice to others. Phalynx would always make sure to do what she could to bring justice to the world. Then, even if it wasn't fair, it might not be as unfair or harsh. When Galbatorix was gone, the world would be that much better, especially for dragonkind. The star-silver nodded at Zeke as he spoke up for Jia, and settled down into a more comfortable position, her legs tucked under her and her wings folded neatly, with her tail draped over the rocks. Phal kept an eye on each horizon as they waited.

Re: First Moments Savania glanced sadly at Jia for a moment. It made her wonder just how longs these threats would last. Everytime she turned her back it seemed a new one was popping up. At least they were safe for the moment. Of course everything wasn't fare though. She sighed saying to herself If everything was fare my brother wouldn't have been hatched to be persuade by a mad man. She sighed, she hadn't even see Dsurion or Crimson for some time. It didn't matter though. She glanced at Jia, just gland the hatchling was alright.

Re: First Moments Jia slept for only a few minutes before waking up. Without a word, she climbed up onto her brother's back. He stood carefully, letting her become accustomed to the movement. She felt him sigh heavily beneath her as he spread his wings. A pained roar made him freeze. The next moment she was dizzy with abrupt motion as Zeke grabbed her and bundled her toward Phal's forefeet. Get her out of here. she heard him growl to the silver, then he was gone. She wobbled on her legs, light-headedness making her unsteady for a few seconds. When she could see without the world spinning, Zeke was in the air flapping toward a gigantic, hurtling shape in the sky. Lean drew quickly to a halt as her brother's eyes began to glow.

Re: First Moments Phalynx's eyes turned from the horizon to look back at Jia as the tiny dragon slept. She didn't want the young one's life to be embroiled in war, but it looked as though it might already be. A tremendous roar abruptly ended Phal's musings, and she looked up to see Lean approaching from the distance. Zeke suddenly passed his sister to the silver, yelling for her to take Jia away. The star-silver wanted to stay and help Zeke, but knew that his sister needed to be taken to safety. She gently wrapped the hatchling in her claws and reared back on her hind legs, wings spreading. She leaped into the air, shooting from the rocky ledge and twisting her body to head away from Lean. Zeke was heading straight toward her to meet her in battle. Phal held Jia tightly to her chest, flapping swiftly away. She was moving too fast for the hatchling to ride on her back. She glanced back briefly, worried for Zeke. Be careful! I'll take care of Jia, she called back with concern.

Re: First Moments Glancing up Savania gave a surprised growl at what Zeke said to Phal and then saw Lean come in. Flying into the air, she glanced back at Jia and Phal, hoping to give them as much of a chance to retreat as possible. Snarling, she glanced at Lean, hoping she didn't notice Jia go with Phal, She is not the one you want. Savania snarled to Lean We are more powerful than her, fight us, not the hatchling. she growled, though she did have pity in her eyes as she stared at the black dragoness.

He found it. He winced for what he was about to do, but continued on. He invoked her Name, making her recoil from him. Go back, Everlasting Black Fire. Go back to your cave and stay there for three days. Do not follow us, no matter what Galbatorix says or does. Listen to me, Everlasting Black Fire. Pain will not hurt you, will not move you. You will stay for three days in a coma, and wake at twilight on the third day. Go, now! he barked, feeling a stab in his chest for what he was making her do. Tears were in Lean's eyes, but they were of gratefulness, not bitterness as he had expected. The ancient black dipped her head in compliance, then turned slowly in the air and made her way back. Zeke stayed where he was, watching her. He brushed his mind against Savania's. Follow after Phalynx. Lean will not hurt me, not when I know her Name. he said softly.
- - - - - - - - - - Jia kept her body loose and tranquil so she wasn't hurt as Phalynx bundled her up into her claws and took off. She peered out over the silver's elbow, trying to spy her brother. She saw nothing. Now worried, but not for Lean, she restlessly pressed her body closer to Phal's chest, silently seeking some form of comfort. The gold-amethyst looked forward, slitting her eyes against the intense wind. She made sure to keep her delicate wings clamped tightly to her back. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. Re: First Moments Phal glanced briefly down at Jia as the hatchling pressed herself closer. The silver hugged her tighter, being careful not to accidentally scratch Jia with her long claws. She kept flying for a short time and eventually looked back. Lean and Zeke were frozen in the air, facing each other. The black turned to leave. Phal was a very long distance away, but with her telescopic vision she could see that powerful magic was being invoked. Was Zeke using Lean's True Name? In any case, it made the ancient dragoness turn to leave. Phal parachuted her wide wings, letting the air gently carry her in a slow descent. She touched down delicately on a narrow ledge on the side of a mountain with her hind feet, and slowly lowered Jia to the ground, placing her carefully on the stone. The silver turned to face the direction she had come from, standing protectively over the hatchling with wings half-spread. She could see Zeke and Savania, alone now, and waited (glancing often at the fading form of Lean, of course). Your brother and Savania appear to be okay, now. They should be here in a few minutes, Jia, she said reassuringly to the small dragoness, turning to look at her briefly.

Re: First Moments Savania glanced at Zeke for a moment with an uncertain look. For a moment she htought of staying with him and Lean, but knew she had to do what he said. To her mate she replied, I hope everything works out fine. Good luck. she said and gave one last sorrowfull look at Lean. Turning around, she flew after Phal and Jia, flapping her wings faster to catch up with the two.

Re: First Moments Jia looked up at Phalynx, feeling safe within the silver's claws. Once they had landed, she crouched low with her belly pressed to the ground. She swallowed and nodded, her teal-aquamarine eyes anxious. What about Lee? she asked in a small voice, feeling tiny and helpless. Her instincts rebelled against the feeling, but she wrestled them down, forcing them to the back to the far recesses of her mind.
- - - - - - - - - - Zeke prummed warmly, touching Savania's mind kindly in gratitude. He waited until Lean had disappeared over the mountain before slowly turning on his wing and flying toward Phalynx and his sister. Re: First Moments Phal watched as Zeke hovered, facing the direction Lean was flying in. Savania was making her way toward the pair on the mountainside. She glanced down at Jia when the hatchling asked about the black dragoness, and gave a reassuring smile. No fight took place, so she's alright for now. I don't know if Galbatorix will punish her, though, she replied. In reality, she thought the mad king almost certainly would when he could. She didn't want Jia's mind to dwell on such things, though. There was time enough for her to learn the harshness of the world. As Savania drew nearer, Phal contacted her mentally. Are you alright? I didn't see a fight. Did Zeke use Lean's True Name? Phal asked her, wondering if she would know. She kept her mind brushing against the metallic silver dragoness' to let her know where she and Jia were.

Re: First Moments Savania hovered closely next to Phal and Jia as they flew and glanced back for a moment. To the other silver she replied He's fine. Yeah, he used her true name. I think he told her to go back to Galbatorix. He's alright. She wished there was more they could do for Lean, but she doubted it. She was going to comment about it, but decided not to. There was no need to bring more worry to all of them.

Re: First Moments Zeke wearily flew through the air, occasionally shivering at what he had just done. He'd never used the True Name of another to control them. Leurgan hardly counted, since he had destroyed the evil man, instead of just controlling him. With a shudder he landed on a ledge a dragon length above Phal and Jia. He was looking at the ground between his paws. He'd been close enough to hear the gist of their conversation. Yes, I used her Name. I told her to go back to the cave and go into a coma for three days. I wanted to keep her away from Galbatorix as long as possible, to give us more time to get away, and also hopefully save her from the beating that is surely coming her way. he said, and closed his eyes. He took a deep shuddering breath to study himself, then lifted his head and gazed at his sister. She was crouched forlornly between the star silver's forepaws, her eyes downcast. He sighed softly, aching to hold her to his chest and comfort her, but if his sister was anything like him, she would want to deal with her emotions alone. He shuffled his feet restlessly, glancing back the way he'd come. Are we ready to go on, I guess? he queried questioningly, looking from Phal to his mate.

Re: First Moments Phal waited as Zeke flew toward them. He looked a little shaken. When he confirmed what she and Savania thought, the silver gave him a small smile. You did the right thing, Zeke. You saved us all from bloodshed, and now, hopefully, she won't have to deal with Galbatorix's punishment. He can hardly fault her for being controlled with her True Name, though he probably will to some degree... but you still did what you could, she spoke, hoping to be of some encouragement. She glanced down at Jia when the amethyst asked if they were ready to leave. I believe so. Do you agree, Savania? she replied, turning toward the metallic-silver dragoness questioningly.

Re: First Moments Savania nodded and glanced towards Zeke. You did what you could Zeke. I just wish we could free her from Galbatorix. I'm sure he won't punish her much. From what she knew of Galbatorix, she thought he would a little at least, but as Phal said he couldn't fault her much for that. She was just glad bloodshed was avoided. She shook her head wondering why the two legs so loved fighting so much. She felt it was overrated.

Re: First Moments Zeke nodded and smiled at Phal and Savania. I pray your right. he said simply, then looked down at his sister. She was still looking at her foreclaws. He sighed mutely. Come up, Jia. Time to move on. he said. She finally looked up, and the look of sadness was ancient beyond her years. It cleared quickly and she blinked, as if coming from a trance. She nodded and stepped forward, gauging the distance from the ledge Phalynx had chosen to his. A small draft of air pushed up just then. She opened her wings and leapt up instinctively, aiming for him. He watched, astonished, as she rode the wind up to him. When she was half a tail length from him, the air underneath her faltered. He lunged down to catch her with his teeth, like a mother canine would with her cubs. His teeth snapped shut on the tip of her tail, surprisingly gentle. He lifted her up carefully, avoiding clipping her head on any rock ledges. He hoisted her up and twisted his neck around, placing her deliberately on his back. He snorted softly, looking her over. There wasn't a single scratch on her, though the tip of her tail would probably be a little sore tomorrow. Being wedged between sharp sets of teeth will do that. Nice gliding there, precious one. he purred. She beamed proudly, her scales almost glowing. He turned to Phalynx and grinned. You just might have to defend your title as best flyer; we have another early bird fledger. he said, and laughed. Jia ducked her head, suddenly modest. I only glided... she protested half-heartedly. Zeke looked back at her, a tender gleam in his eye. Gliding is the base of all flying, Jia. he said, smiling. Its the first step. And based on what I just saw, I'd say you do it pretty darn well. he praised.

Re: First Moments Phal waited as Jia stood and finally went to her brother. She spread her wings and glided across the gap (well, most of the way). Yes, that was well-controlled, the silver added with a smile. When Zeke spoke, she laughed. Oh I don't think I'm the best flyer in Alagaesia. Perhaps one of the most agile and the most enduring, but that's simply because of how oversized my wings are. Jia will certainly be a good flyer, though. You'll have to keep practicing to develop your talents, she replied, directing her last sentence to the little dragoness with a warm smile. One day she would discover just how wonderful the sky was. Re: First Moments Savania ruffled her own wings for a moment but remained silent. She glanced around at the three other dragons. She wasn't one to argue or complain, but she thought that she was the best flyer in Alagaesia. Though she decided to keep it quiet. After all, boasting to allies wasn't as fun as boasting to enemies. She, however, did have a little smirk on her face at the comment. Glancing around she said So, now that we're safe, what should we do? I would like to try and help Lean, but I don't know if that's possible. she said in order to get some conversation coming around. She was tired though, and she often did get cranky when she was tired. Maybe she'd go to sleep soon.

He felt Jia clench her talons under his scales and press her body to his back, to allow him more speed. He looked back at Savania. I doubt there's anything we could do for her. Maybe later, once Jia is safe, but not now. he said sadly, his voice gentle with regret. He sighed to himself, then gazed around. How far is it to the mountain range by your valley, Phal? he asked, craning his head back to look up at her.

Re: First Moments Phal circled around as Zeke and Savania got into the air. When the joined her, she arched out of her spiral and headed on a northeasterly course. At the amethyst's question she twisted her head around. We must cross the Hadarac and the very southeasternmost parts of Du Weldenvarden, as well as Eldor Lake and the part of the mountains. It should take a couple of days to do so, perhaps more depending on wind currents, she relayed, turning back to face forward. It would take a while to travel the distance, but with every wingbeat of distance they put between themselves and the Empire, Jia was safer.

Re: First Moments Zeke nodded absently, looking back at his sister. She had curled up at the juncture between his neck and shoulders, laying in the seat of the saddle he had strapped to his back. He hardly ever took it off, in case he had to get to Ella fast if she needed his aid. He imagined that his scales in that area were worn thin by now by the constant friction between the leather and his hide. He turned to smile at his mate, his ice blue eyes glittering warmly. Though there was a protective edge within their depths.Everything will probably go fine. If not, then I'll simply shred whatever is after us to unrecognizable slivers so it can't hurt you or Jia. he said lightly, his smile widening into a grin. Though he was completely and deadly serious. He wouldn't tolerate Savania or Jia being in danger like that, though his mate would probably think he was being overprotective. He had little blood family beside his Eldunarí mother (Seluka), grandfather (Zephorion), newly discovered sister (Johdzsia), and his Rider (Ella). He of course had Felecia, Ebony, Mesaraih, Fenirexes and all of them, but they weren't directly related to him. He sighed to himself and glanced again at the steel-silver-dragoness, feeling his heart melt all over again.

Re: First Moments Phal nodded at Savania's statement. She would do whatever it took to get Jia to safety. There were few enough young dragons left in the world... She glanced backwards and saw that Zeke was speaking with his mate. The star-silver felt a brief twinge of her heart; she missed Aeraldi. Hopefully she would reunite with him when they reached the valley. Her children might be there as well, actually. Phal had to resist the urge to speed off to the northeast. Instead, she kept a steady wingbeat pace, and led the group gradually out of the Beor Mountains. They would probably reach somewhere in the northeastern Hadarac after the first day of traveling.

Re: First Moments Savania gave a smile and nudged her head against Zeke as they flew. With a warm smile she replied, Thanks, but I don't need protection. I worry about you more than I do myself. she said with a light laugh and brushed him with her tail. Glancing around as they flew she looked down at the ground as a pack of wolves ran underneath them. It made her think of Snare. She hopped the furry fool wouldn't get herself into to much trouble.

Re: First Moments Zeke chuckled, his ice blue eyes twinkling. Then we share more similar thoughts than I at first assumed. he said, twining his tail gently with hers. It only made flight a bit more difficult. He noticed that she looked down and followed her gaze, grinning when he saw the pack of wolves. Snare, though rude at most times, made very good points that others might miss or hadn't thought of. He chuckled again, shaking his head, then turned to his mate again to pass the time. He felt a bit bad for excluding Phal, but he wasn't sure how to join her into the conversation. He contemplated a bit and decided to extend a link to the star silver so she could at least hear the exchange of words as Zeke and Savania spoke. You had any contact with your siblings lately, little heart? he asked the steel silver, eying her curiously. He'd only met Elycon once, and Tvashtar never. Dsurion he'd heard of, but he'd never met the teal. He didn't exactly want to either. Friend or foe, the male was Savania's brother, and he didn't want to kill any of her family, even if they did serve the mad King.

Re: First Moments Phal continued flying for several more minutes, spending time observing the flashing landscape and the elegant cloudscape. The day was becoming rather overcast, but she could see that the clouds thinned out as they approached the desert. When she felt Zeke extend the mental link to her, she glanced back briefly. At his words, she turned her glance to Savania. Phal had met all of her siblings. Elcyon was one of her best friends, and she had met the other three, including Savania, in the battle with Crimson. Phal grimaced at the mixed memories. The one of the battle was an agonizing one, but those of Elcyon and her two friendly siblings were good. The star-silver decided to focus on the good as she waited for Savania's reply.

Re: First Moments I guess we do. Savania replied and glanced over at him with loving eyes. When he mentioned her siblings she looked down for a moment. Tvashtar I've seen a bit. We were mostly in Equinox's base near the forest until we decided to go help in the effort against Crimson and Galbatorix. I think down south somewhere. Dsurion, I haven't seen him since the battle... her voice drove off as she spoke of her brother. He was evil, but he was also family. I don't know what I'd do with myself if I'd have to fight him again. He's my brother, but he'd kill me just as soon as he had the chance. To get her mind of Dsurion she spoke next of her sister I haven't seen Elcyon for some time, she's probably off with Equinox. she gave an annoyed growl They never let me go on their adventures! Equinox and Elcyon have been everywhere! They helped discovered the terrabirds, learned that Equinox was the heir to the ancient lighting dragon kingdom of the Beor Mountains. They've been all around Alagaesia and I was stuck in the spine until I finally decided to leave! After a moment she paused and glanced around and sighed with embarrassment, Sorry... I was getting carried away. she dipped her head down to avoid their looks.

Re: First Moments Phal listened as Savania spoke of her various siblings. When she mentioned the adventure concerning Equinox and the lightning dragons, the star-silver grinned. She had been on that journey as well. It had been kind of a long time ago, though. She hadn't seen Elcyon in a while, and wondered where her friend was now. The dragoness liked writing and learning, and had planned to start a library. Perhaps she was working on that.
Phal glanced back briefly as the two dragons' conversation became slightly more private (or, at least, it only concerned them). You know, this is an adventure in and of itself, you two. Re: First Moments Savania smiled deeply at Zeke and went closer to him. Nudging him slightly with her head she replied, I'd like that, it sounds like a good idea to me. After hearing Phal comment Savania replied I suppose you're right. This is an adventure. We just have to get Jia to be safe. She folded her wings smugly and glanced at the hatchling. At times she could barely remember when she was a hatchling, so much had happened in that short time.

It wasn't every day one got to rescue a dragon hatchling and fly hastily northeast trying to avoid soldiers of Galbatorix. Well, in addition to getting Jia to safety, you'll both be seeing parts of Alagaesia that you haven't before. Zeke, I don't think you've actually been to my valley. Hopefully you both, and especially Jia, will like it there, the silver spoke casually, glancing back. Shifting her gaze downward, Phal saw that the land was already becoming dry and empty, a sign they were entering the margins of the Hadarac. The foothills of the Beors were currently beneath them.

IC: Phal smiled back at the two. And we have plenty of time at the moment. I really do hope you'll like it. Oh, perhaps I will show you Unity. Now that is an amazing sight, the silver spoke, already excited at the thought of revisiting the ancient dragon city. Unity had been built tens of thousands of years ago, perhaps hundreds of thousands, and she was still in the process of exploring its great depths. They traveled on throughout the day, the sun passing overhead and finally sinking toward the horizon. By this time, they were well into the Hadarac. Phal felt a momentary prickle as they passed about fifty miles east of her brother's Fortress. He was contacting her. She quickly let him know everything that had happened, and that they were bringing Jia to her valley until she had grown some. Faefnir sent her back the knowledge that he would watch their retreat. When dusk fell, they were already nearing the edge of the Hadarac (or at least the less sandy parts, where it was more scrubland than true desert). A tall outcropping of rock and cliffs drew the silver's attention. Would that be a good place to spend the night? I can see a glimmer of water in a cave in those rocks, and there should be prey, she suggested. Phal knew that Jia hadn't really traveled this much before (not for an entire day, anyway) and so she would probably need the rest and refueling most. Re: First Moments Jia lifted her head sleepily and yawned as her brother landed. He looked back at her and grinned as she stretched like a cat and nimbly leapt off his back. She padded around sniffing at the surroundings. At the sight of water, she instantly bounded forward and submerged her muzzle in the liquid, drinking as deeply as she could without shocking her system. A minute later she lifted her head and shook herself. She looked up at the tall outcroppings that towered above her. Whoa. she said, more to herself than the other three.

She glanced up at Savania. I've stopped in this part of the Hadarac before. Another day of travel should allow us to reach my valley, she spoke, turning back toward the stream when she caught the scent of some sort of prey animal. It was too faint for her to recognize, though (not to mention she didn't have the best sense of smell). She jumped up on a ledge on the nearest cliff and began climbing up it, using the thumb-claws on her wings when she needed to. Despite not being as graceful on the ground as in the air, Phal was a fairly adept climber. Climbing was often necessary in areas where her large wings couldn't fully unfold. When she reached a high ledge, she paused and arched her neck around to look for something to eat. Anyone feel like pronghorn antelope? I see a few in the next ravine, she announced as she located the small group.

Re: First Moments Taking a few gulps of water, Savania dove into it and paddled around for a bit. She felt like a newly hatch hatchling again in the water. Jumping out she shook herself so water flew from her silver slaces. Glancing over towards Phal as she spoke she replied Sounds good to me.

Living around Helgrind, she had been forced to learn how to climb well to hunt for food and herbs. These cliffs were easy compared to the sharp incline of rocks around Helgrind. She came close to the star silver in good time. She paused below the female and lifted her nose to scent the air. She caught no hint of the prey, and she was too small to try and see with her eyes. She snorted softly, a bit disgruntled, and looked up at the silver. What is a...pronghorn antelope? she asked, stumbling a bit over the unfamiliar words.

Re: First Moments Phal nodded at Savania and prepared to go hunting. Before she leapt off the cliffs, she noticed Jia climbing her way up to her, her small body maneuvering the rocky crags easily. The silver waited until the hatchling was near her. At Jia's question, Phal smiled. It's a grazing animal, built like a deer and about the same size, but with horns instead of antlers. I'll kill them cleanly so that you can get a good look, she replied, green eyes sparkling. She liked answering questions. She paused for a moment before jumping away, reflecting on how things could turn so suddenly. She was usually the one asking the questions... but times being as they were, she had been forced to grow up too soon. Now she was the one doing a lot of the explaining.
Phalynx shook her head and launched herself away from the cliff with her powerful hind legs, extending her wings and beating them in a massive downstroke. A few more flaps, and she was hurtling over the ridge. She overshot it on purpose to gain more speed as she dove down for the kill. The antelopes were already fleeing, graceful limbs eating up the ground. But no running animal could match a dragon's speed, especially on open ground. The star-silver lashed her tail down, catching two across the backs and snapping their spines neatly. She flapped a little to regain lost speed and caught a third in her claws. Three should be enough; they could always eat a nicely-sized breakfast. Phal gripped one body in her jaws, her neck a little strained at the weight (she wasn't a particularly large or strong dragon), and gathered the other two up in her foreclaws. She was back in the neighboring ravine in less than a minute, dispensing her catch. Before starting to eat, however, she made sure to show one of the animals to Jia. Re: First Moments After gulping up a few tuna and other fish, Savania wandered over towards the antelope as Phal dropped them and begun to eat. Glances at te hors on their hears, she snapped them off with her jaws and crunched them under her teeth, admiring the crunchiness of them. Getting into the rest of the meal she said to Phal Thanks for getting these.

Re: First Moments Jia watched as Phalynx launched powerfully from the ledge, a thrill of awe touching her at the silver's grace. She sighed in longing, though she didn't have much time to fully register the emotion before Phal was back with her catch. The small gold-amethyst hatchling clambered down the cliff and sniffed delicately at the still form that the silver showed her. The antelope's coat was smooth and sleek, beautiful in a way. The head was small yet well proportioned with the body, horns just the right size. Everything about them showed grace and a strange, subtle authority. She didn't know why, but she dipped her head slightly in gratitude to the noble creature. It had given its life to give them strength with its meat. That was worthy of recognition.

As she picked up her antelope, she noticed Jia making a respectful gesture to the one she had set down for her to examine. The silver smiled around her mouthful of flesh, glad to see the young one have such respect for life. All life was valuable, including that of prey. Without it, there would be no dragonkind. Phal walked over to a sheltered area next to the stream and began eating her meal, enjoying the delicious taste of the meat. Pronghorn antelope was quite tasty, she thought. When she finished, she looked up at the others. We should probably take watches tonight. We're not quite out of danger yet, she stated, glancing between Zeke and Savania. Galbatorix could still send his minions after them, and Phal didn't want to take any chances with Jia.

Re: First Moments Savania nodded, letting one of the antelopes legs slip through her jaws as she cracked it. It was a very good meal, she didn't remember the last time she had such good food. Then as she thought of t, she always said that. Smirking to herself about that when Phal mentioned guard she said I'll take first watch for Galbatorix's minions. I'd love the chance to broil his lapdogs in their armor. She doubted any would come, but if they did, that was always a possibility she could do. Humans and their armor. she sighed amusingly to herself.

Re: First Moments Jia began to nibble at the haunches of the antelope, though her stomach demanded that she eat faster. She didn't though, knowing eating too fast could possibly give her a bellyache later. She severed the head from the prey and buried it, refusing to eat the skull. Her brother had settled himself close to Savania with his head on his paws, eyes closing quickly. The gold-amethyst got up and padded to him, touching his snout with her own. He smiled and slipped into an easy sleep. Jia snorted softly, then turned back to her meal and continued eating.

Re: First Moments Phal nodded to Savania and gave a laugh at her statement. It would be nice to take out some frustration on her enemies. She chuckled as she noticed Zeke drifting off to sleep. You can wake him for second watch, Savania. I'll take last watch until dawn, she said to the metallic-silver dragoness. She thought Zeke would appreciate taking second watch rather than third, since his mate would be the one waking him up. The star-silver pressed her back into the indentation of a large boulder, ready for sleep. Jia was still eating, apparently intent on devouring her entire meal. Phal smiled and let her eyes close, glad for the companionship she was sharing that night.

Re: First Moments Savania nodded and glanced towards Zeke as he curled up next to her. Putting a loving wing over him she said Goodnight love. After scrapping some meat off a bone she said to Jia and Phal Good night, sleep well you two. Starring into the sky Savania begun to think of the past events. She liked going over them while she had nothing to do. So much had seemed to happen and much of it she heard from others and wasn't part of. Sighing, she stared into the distance, listening for any possible signs of enemies.

Re: First Moments Jia smiled as she saw her brother relax and shift closer to his mate under her extended wing. The gold-amethyst continued to eat until only the neck of the antelope was left. She buried it beside the head, and then padded sleepily over to Zeke and curled up against his leg, her warm, full belly quickly lulling her into a deep sleep.

 IC: Phal watched her three companions a little longer, thinking how nice they looked as a family. However, thinking about that made her think about her own family, which sent a pang of longing through her. She sighed and closed her eyes again. Tomorrow she would be back in her valley, and at least a few of her immediate family members were likely to be there. The thought made her content, and she eventually drifted off to sleep with a feeling of warm anticipation. IC: Staring into the sky Savania watched as the moon slowly made its way across the night time sky. As the others slept she hummed quietly to herself. Keeping a close eye out for anything strange. For fun and bordem she made iron come out of the ground shich she mealted to form a solid sheet. Picking it up in her jaws she tossed it through the air to see how far she could throw it. After that didn't amuse her much she simply lied down, trying to figure out what they'd do next. Her thoughts kept drifting to Galbatorix, hoping he wouldn't follow. Giving a yawn she forced herself to stay awake as she noticed her eyes begun to close. Re: First Moments Zeke grumbled occasionally in his sleep in response to his dreams, twitching form time to time. He started slightly as Savania nudged him awake. He lifted his head and yawned, then extended a wing to encompass her in its warmth. He purred softly, nuzzling her shoulder in silent gratitude. Sleep well, little heart. he murmured softly to her, then looked up at the sky. The stars, he sensed, were beginning to dwindle a bit, meaning dawn was only perhaps four or five hours away. He'd wake Phal in three, he decided. He sighed softly and looked to Jia, curled up with the tip of her barbed tail draped over her nose, wings tightly tucked to her back. He lowered his head to her to check her, though he knew she was fine. She stirred a bit as his breath touched her, but only tightened her curled ball and went into a deeper sleep. He smiled to himself and began to hum.

Re: First Moments OOC: Hmm. Peaceful nights are fun and all, but I think it's time for stuff to happen.
 IC: Phalynx slept peacefully for most of the night, dreaming of pleasant things as she anticipated going home. However, only a few hours before dawn, a pale ribbon of light purple-blue in the eastern sky, she came awake. Her scales were tingling, as if danger was approaching. Phal had gotten this feeling many times before, and was used to it because she traveled so much. She had been forced to sleep alone countless times, and had often awoke just in time to avoid enemies. The silver opened her bright green eyes and slowly lifted her head, wondering how far away the threat was. She didn't know it, but a group of Galbatorix's soldiers and mages, along with a pair of enslaved dragons, was headed towards the group. These dragons had been tortured beyond hope of recovery, but had lost mental function as well. However, they were fast, spelled with larger, stronger wings and bigger lungs. Deciding she would fly for a bit until she grew more tired to sleep again or simply wake herself up she noticed Phal seeming to be alert. Gently getting herself out of Zeke's embrace she asked the other silver dragoness, What's wrong? she couldn't help but give a tired yawn. Re: First Moments Zeke looked up sharply as he felt Phalynx wake up and raise her head. He got to his paws moments after his mate, instinctively taking a step to the side so he stood over the sleeping form of his sister. She stirred restlessly but didn't wake, curling into a tighter ball. Phalynx...? he questioned uncertainly, his scales prickling uneasily as he unfurled his wings part-way.

Re: First Moments Phal glanced over toward Savania and Zeke when they approached her with concern. I sense some danger... but I don't know how close it is yet, or what it is, she replied softly, getting to her feet. She darted forward and leapt powerfully up onto a large rock-strewn ridge, bounding up the slope until she reached the top. However, she kept her body low to the ground to avoid being seen. She wasn't sure where the danger was, and her sparkly silver scales were extremely conspicuous. Peering into the distance, she couldn't see anything yet. However, she got a more accurate sense of where to look, and did so with her telescopic vision. She drew her head up in alarm as she saw what was approaching them. There is a small horde of dragons with many two-legs on them... They are Galbatorix's soldiers. They're still very far off, too far to see without my telescopic vision, but they are flying extroardinarily fast, she relayed, watching. The dragons had very large wings and skinny, but spiky bodies. They reminded her of the flying shadow beasts in build. Phal also realized that these dragons would eventually catch up to the group.

Re: First Moments As Phal spoke, Savania snarled, getting herself ready to attack of defend. if the dragons and two-legs on them would over take them, she saw no point in fleeing. Still, it was alarming that Galbatorix had found them so fast. Do you think he followed us? Or found us just by chance? she asked. She hated fighting dragons, but she would fight them if must be. She gave a snarl, she doubted it but if the dragons did join him freely they would pay for their betrayal.

His tail cracked, whipping from side to side in agitation. I knew I should have wiped his memory of Jia! he spat under his breath to himself. Jia lifted her head and yawned, getting to her paws to stretch. But she came instantly awake when she sensed the tension. Her teal-aquamarine eyes opened fully, focusing on Zeke's coiled muscles. Z...? What's wrong? she asked calmly, pushing her muzzle into his foreleg. He forced a hum to not alarm her. Nothing major, dear one. he murmured, urging his body to relax. He coaxed her up onto his back, then straightened up and looked at Phalynx. We know their following, and it seems like it won't take them long to catch up. Worse comes to worse, your the fastest of the three of us, and I want you to take Jia and fly to your Valley. Then she'll have the greatest chance of staying safe. he said. He shifted his partly unfurled wings. And right now, we should probably get moving to try and get as far as we can? he said, though he stated it like a question, to see if the others agreed.

It didn't matter how they knew where they were-Thorn, some magical tracer, following their scent trail-all that mattered was that they were here. Yes. We'll put as much distance as we can between ourselves and them. But we won't make it to my valley, or even the mountains, in time, I think, she said, staring off into the distance as she thought. They're not as fast as me, though... don't have the build for long-distance speed. I trust you know where Eldor Lake is, Zeke? You three keep on in that direction. I'll do what I can to slow the group down. When they get too close to catching up to you, I'll fly ahead and meet you, and take Jia if it comes to that, she said, hoping the plan would work. Phal had a lot of experience in distracting enemies. She would fly back, do a little damage, and then fly on after Zeke, Savania, and Jia. With that, the silver was off, heading up into the far reaches of the sky.

Re: First Moments As Phal told them of the plan, Savania thought it over. She didn't like to leave when enemies were coming, especially if a friend could be in trouble. But she knew that Phal was right, she could catch up to them and they had to get Jia out of here. I could make a passing by though, she said with an addition to the plan, if there are soldiers I could melt the armor on them to take out some of the enemies. I may not be as fast as you, but I could be able to find a way out if a few do challenge me. Though not blood-thirsty, Savania did like to fight those who had evil intention in their mind. Also she did hope Thorn would attack her if Phal did accept the plan. She wanted to do some more damage to the blood-scaled lizard.

Re: First Moments Zeke nodded at the silver's plan and launched into the sky toward Eldor Lake. He paused in flight, though only fractionally. True that you could, little heart, but I would be quite distracted as I flew away from you, leaving you in potential danger. Phal can hold her own, and I know you can too, but please, for the sanity and peace of my mind, come with me. he pleaded, flying slowly now as he looked back at his mate. He most definitely did know that Savania could hold her own against enemies, but that didn't still mean that his heart went into his throat whenever she was in danger.

Re: First Moments Phal heard Savania's call, but decided to let Zeke speak with her. When this group caught up to them, the steel-silver would get her chance to fight. (And indeed, her abilities would be extremely effective against the armored soldiers.) Phal was only going back to slow them, not for a real fight. Before long, she was far away from Zeke, Savania, and Jia, and almost directly above the group. She had flown far enough. Abruptly, her scales flared into brilliance and she pulled in her wings, moving gracefully into an attack dive. It was a maneuver she had all but perfected with the many times she had used it. The horde of dragons, mages, and a few soldiers noticed her from very far away and prepared. It was hard not to notice what looked like a comet streaking straight towards you. Phal pumped more light magic into her scales (so that it would do actual damage) and streaked right through the center of the group, making her scales glow too brightly for them to look at directly. That was the only time she could use that move, however, for the mages quickly put up barriers around their charges' eyes to allow them to focus on the silver dragoness. Phal rapidly pulled out of her dive and charged away, and then turned back to deliver a large blast of starfire. There were seven dragons in all, each carrying a mage and three soldiers. Their wings were as overlarge as Phal's, or at least they seemed that way because of their thin, bony bodies. They were fast, but not strong. For once, Phal was the opponent who had to rely on power rather than speed and agility.

Re: First Moments Savania glanced towards Zeke and nodded. He was right, but she still did want to fight. I suppose you're right, I'll come with you guys then. she said and flew with him and Jia towards their destination. As they flew she couldn't help but keep looking back incase some of their enemies went around Phal towards them. Maybe they'd escape. She doubted it, but it was possible. Let's just hope we all get out of here fine though. she replied to Zeke.

Re: First Moments Zeke sighed inaudibly with relief as Savania decided to come with him and Jia. he flew quickly, though like his mate he occasionally looked back, searching for any that might have slipped around Phal's attack. I think we will. We all are more gifted than the average dragon. Those scrawny snakes have no chance against Phalynx, let alone all three of us. We're just not fighting them to protect Jia. he said idly, though a hint of apprehension played around the edges of his voice. He was anxious for Phal, though he wouldn't directly say it.

Re: First Moments Spells began rocketing towards Phalynx, as well as fireballs from the dragons and arrows from the soldiers. She couldn't deflect all of them. Instead, she got out of range, flying rapidly higher. Three of the dragons chased after her, while the rest kept going. Can't have that, now, she said, flying forward and then dive-bombing the group, letting out a blast of starfire. She deflected the magic of the mages and sent the spells back at their sources, and then flew up again. However, two of the dragons were waiting for her. Their scales were pale and thin, and all looked unhealthy. Their eyes also had a listless, glassy appearance. They looked more like animals than dragons, and Phal detected no thoughts from them. Both shot towards her, and the mages teleported themselves and the soldiers away so that the battle could take place. Phal, knowing she couldn't outrun these two, charged straight at them. They split, each going for one of her wings. However, she barrel-rolled, catching one in her claws and beginning a dangerous dive as the other clawed at her back. Phal winced as the long, needle-like talons left deep scratches across her scales, but focused on the one she had. She got her jaws around its throat and began trying to break its neck even as it struggled, scratching at her flanks with its hind limbs. Phal tipped her body, turning the dive into a wild tumble. The sheer force ripped away the other dragon and snapped the spine of the one she had. She let it go and righted herself, straining her wings as she struggled to get back out of range of the mages, who were waiting for her to get closer to them.

Re: First Moments Savania nodded at what Zeke said. She couldn't help but feel anxious either, but she knew Phal was strong, she hoped she'd pull through this. Glancing back she looked next towards Jia and Zeke, she hoped everything would turn out fine.

Re: First Moments Zeke continued flying, occasionally beating his wings to keep his pace steady. He glanced back, though more often than not he caught Jia's eye. He knew his sister wanted to stay and help. He could tell by the gleam in her eye that bordered on blood lust. But she obediently stayed still on his back, clenching her small needle-like talons underneath his scales for better hold. He sighed, glancing back once more before he eyed his mate from the corner of his eye. Then he looked ahead.

Re: First Moments Phal sped away from the mages, reflecting their spells with her own magic as she pulled away. The dragon that had been torn away from her now dove at her from above, clawing at her wings. She knew the dragon was in the right position for one of her favorite aerial-fighting moves (and one she had worked hard to develop enough flexibility for). She flapped her wings directly down, shooting briefly upwards. As she executed the upstroke, she snapped her wings up with terrifying speed, and twisted them at odd angles to get both thumb-spikes facing inwards. She slammed her wings together, and the two spikes met in the chest of the slender, sickly dragon. She brought her wings back down and pumped them back, getting out from under the falling creature. However, another of the dragons had returned to harry her, a second on its tail. She growled in annoyance as she saw the rest speeding away toward her friends, the mages and soldiers in tow. They had apparently decided that she was too great a hindrance to stay and attempt to kill.

Re: First Moments Zeke turned to check if they were being followed, and was dismayed to find this true. He flew to his mate and nudged her shoulder with his wingtip. We're being pursued. Take Jia and fly. he told her, gently placing his baby sister on Savania's back. He licked the steel-silver's cheek comfortingly, then turned and swiftly flew back to the others. With an enraged roar he pulled in his wings and dove, harrying the dragon like a hawk would a crow. The dragon he'd targeted barrel-rolled out of the attack and came up with jaws wide. Zeke snarled and twisted, meeting the Imperial dragon squarely. He struggled for a bit while the other dragons battered at him, but eventually got his powerful jaws around the dragons neck. With a deft twist of his head and a sharp crack!, it's neck was snapped like a twig. He let the corpse drop from his grip and whirled to engage the others. He saw two willowy females going after Savania. He roared and spat a fireball at each of them, splashing it across their flanks to be sure to get their attention. They turned with snarls and attacked, talons flashing with deadly intent. One female slashed down his neck, almost exactly down the path that Relinox had furrowed a few months back. His shriek was pain filled but anger driven as he pulled in his wings and dove at the female that had injured him. He clashed with her and, with his much bigger bulk, drove her into the ground. His hindclaws tore into her belly for a moment before he realized that the impact had shattered her spine. He crouched down and launched back into the sky, his face set into a ferocious snarl. Not one of these dragons would ever get close to his sister.

Re: First Moments Phal tore after the rest of their enemies, ignoring the dragons that were trying to attack her. She had greater speed over a long distance than they, and quickly outpaced them. She caught up to the main group (that with the two-legs) and began shooting missiles of starfire at them. They blocked most with magic and sent more spells shooting back towards her, but the silver kept up her own reflective barrier. As she drew even with them, she tore a hole in one of the dragon's wings, ignoring a few arrows that punctured her own wing membrane. She quickly flapped away, breathing more starry flames down upon the backs of two of the dragons in an attempt to injure the humans. The two dragons that had stayed back with her finally caught up and began their attack, darting in at her like crows attacking a bird of prey. She barrel-rolled to the left, slamming into one. The hit put her off balance, but she swiftly regained it with a rapid adjustment of her wings. Phal immediately flipped higher up into the sky to avoid the second dragon.

Re: First Moments Savania glanced at Jia and Zeke and back at those following him. She almost gave an annoyed grunt but didn't. She really wanted to fight, but she would protect Jia. Even so she said, If they follow me I am turning back to fight them. she said and turned to Jia, Come one Jia. At once she flew away from them, shooting a few stray molten silver jets towards those after Zeke and Phal.

Re: First Moments They were learning his fighting style. As he barrel-rolled to avoid one attack, when he came out of it he was met with two others. He was forced to pull in his wings for a dive. As he did, a weight slammed into his back. He grunted and somersaulted forward, snapping his wings open. The dragon was dislodged and sent careening toward the grown. The amethyst spun around and met another female, snarling. His jaws snapped shut over a part of her wing, shredding the membrane and breaking two flight fingers. He tore into her belly with his hindclaws, goring it so it would take several long minutes to heal. He let her fall from his grip, her shrieks of pain falling on deaf ears. He roared and whirled on the last one that had pursued him. It wasn't there. He took long, deep breaths, trying to clear his mind so he could think again. It took a second too long. The last dragon, a male, slammed into him from above, knocking him out of the air and into the ground. He growled and leapt to his feet, only to be pummeled back down by the weight of the male on his side. His snarl was feral and animalistic,"Jeirda!" he barked, his ice blue eyes flashing. The dragon was knocked back. He pounced onto it, ripping its hide into unrecognizable pieces. He tore into its throat, making sure it would die or at the least be unable to move. He looked up, his muzzle bloody and talons gored crimson. He opened his wings and leapt into the air to help Phal, not noticing in his anger that two male dragons, the willowiest of the group, were following his mate.

Re: First Moments Phal twisted her body to thwack the second dragon across the face with her powerful tail, knocking it out cold just before it reached her. The one she had tackled dove at her from above, but she rolled over and met it with her claws, digging them into its sides as it fell upon her. She twisted her spine to put herself on top, but just before she was right-side-up she threw the other dragon away from her so that it was propelled toward the ground. As it hit the stony earth, Phal snapped open her wings and flapped hard to avoid the same fate. However, she was met with a barrage of spells sent her way from the mages. She blocked most of them, but their sheer force sent her careening backwards through the air. She nearly hit the ground again, but managed not to (though she was starting to feel strained). The dragons with the archers and mages on their backs were heading her way now, while a group of dragons was attacking Zeke.
Phal shot forward, straight at the group, shielding herself from the mages' spells as she darted past. Her wings, larger and more powerful than the other dragons', stirred the air enough to put them off balance and so disrupt the mages and archers. The star-silver twisted around and shot starfire missiles at one of the dragons, and then attacked another, ripping holes in its wings. She was knocked away by more spells, however, and a few arrows managed to get under her scales and dig painfully into the flesh beneath. Re: First Moments Savania glanced back, they were still being followed. Glancing over she said to Jia Continue on, I'll be back soon. she flew towards the two legs on the ground, she'd deal with the dragons later. Twisting her body, she made their armor contract until it was too tight for them. Screams ripped through the air as she made it so small it pinched into them, finally a small bursting sound came out as their bodies ruptured from the shrinking armor and they fell dead. Proud of herself, she picked up speed to fly back to Jia.

Re: First Moments Jia watched anxiously after Savania, quivering with fear on the ground. Before he died, one of the archer's saw her. She was close enough. She was so concentrated on the steel-silver, she didn't see the archer, with his dying breath, knock and loose and arrow directly aimed for her. Though his aim was true, he'd misjudged the distance and her size. The arrow thudded into her chest, on the right not the left, and knocked her back. She didn't know what had hit her. Other than the hunger-pains that sometimes attacked her stomach, this was a new pain. Fresh, piercing, disorienting. But not overwhelming as she'd thought it might have been. For her, it had the exact opposite affect. It made her angry. Her wailing shriek was more of a challenge than a cry of pain. Knowledge. Knowledge and power swept into her, making her ears ring and blood pound. She felt alive. Her wings lifted from her back, her expression of one that had seen many years and knew many things. With a powerful leap and a thrust, she was airborne. The ancestral power flooding her body guided her muscles in what to do, each stroke of her wings carrying her closer and closer to Phal and her brother. Her scales gleamed from beneath, as if she was lit from within. She streaked past Savania without even glancing at the steel-silver, so focused was she on her quarry. She was close now. She could see Phal, the star silver, just turning to meet those that pursued her, her brother straining to help. She shrieked again and dove, pulling in her wings and diving as if she'd been doing it for decades. Leave my family alone! she screeched angrily. A swell, a bubble of something exploded from the core of her being, knocking away those that had previously gone after Phalynx. The draconic magic passed through the star silver without so much as jolting her, and the same with her brother. She shrieked yet again and dove, sending another wave of magic to repel them away. Leave us! You'll not get what you wish if you stay, only the fate of certain death! she cried. She pulled up and hovered a few yards in front of Phal, the even strokes of her wings strong and sure against the air. The remaining dragons, around five or six male and females with magicians and archers upon their backs, and only one that had no riders, stared at her in astonishment along with their passengers, at her youth, her size, the golden light that shone from her scales, and the green-gold that poured from her irises. Some silent order was given, and they turned and fled. Once they were a league away, the gold light faded from her scales, leaving them a normal gold-amethyst, and her eyes faded again to teal. She looked around in astonishment, as they had a few moments ago at her. Her wingbeats became labored and heavy. She stilled them and found she could glide, as she'd done from Zeke's back. Her eyelids drooped and she yawned. What had she done? And how had she gotten airborne? She glanced up at Phal. What happened? What did I do? she asked quietly, the words slurred from her growing fatigue. Zeke came up underneath her, and she gratefully alighted onto his warm, sturdy back. She heard him try to answer, but couldn't from speechlessness. She tried to curl up, but whimpered when the arrow that was still in her breast was pushed. She sat back on her haunches, fighting back tears, and studied the wound. She set her teeth around the shaft and pulled, slowly, until the arrow as free. She tossed it away and looked back down at the injury, only to find it already partially closed from the magics of her brother.

Re: First Moments Phalynx was charging towards the remaining dragons with riders, breathing out starfire missiles, when the intense glow of magic caught her eye. She directed her gaze towards it and saw that Jia was flying towards them, her wings strengthened with magic. It wasn't just any magic; it seemed to be fueled by the dragons' ancestral magic, and it was rippling off her in waves. As she approached the enemy dragons and humans, the magic pulsed off her towards them in attack. The magic pulsed one more time, and the group turned to beat a hasty retreat. The magic then faded, and Jia glided to her brother's back. Zeke, seemingly speechless, was healing an ugly wound on his sister's chest, which Phal immediately aided him in (making sure his magic sealed up every part of the injury and adding her own strength). Little one, you appear to have a very strong connection to the magic of our ancestors. It fueled you in an attack on our pursuers, the silver spoke, flapping forward until she was near Jia, who rested on Zeke's back.

Re: First Moments Savania glanced towards Jia and smiled. Nice one Jia. You did well. she said, and glanced over towards the dead dragons. It was a shame that they served Galbatorix, but there was nothing they could do about it she supposed.

I couldn't control myself. she said quietly, then yawned widely, her tiny needle teeth flashing dimly. Why am I so tired? she asked sleepily, curling into a ball on her brother's back. Zeke finally seemed to shake himself out of his astonishment. Because of the magic you used. Magic drains your vitality, and the attacks you sent were quite powerful. Rest, estrelinha. When you wake the fatigue will be less, if not gone. he advised. But she was already out cold.

Call me a pheasant and pluck my feathers, but was that a bit more powerful draconic magic than the average angry dragon can summon? he asked, keeping his tone down so he didn't wake his sister. Re: First Moments Phal watched as Jia curled up and drifted off to sleep, tired by her efforts. When Zeke spoke, she nodded. It certainly was. Thinking over what her magic looked like, it reminded me specifically of two things. One was the magic of our ancestors, and the other was something I've seen only occasionally. I have seen a few dragons go into enraged, magically-enhanced states. Jia seems to be able to unlock both of those things, at least, though there could be more to her specific magic. I wasn't able to examine it enough to tell more than that, she replied, trying to make sense of the young dragon's newfound power.

Re: First Moments Savania glanced at Jia for a moment, glad that she was ok and sleeping well. As both Zeke and Phal spoke, she thought of it, the power of their ancestors and the magic dragons had inside of them. That could be dangerous though. If she doesn't learn how to control it she could easily kill herself. Glancing over to where the fighting had been she asked, Did any escape? We don't want them to tell Galbatorix of what happened.

I've known magic since I was a few years old; to her, it could prove dangerous. he said in agreement to Savania. He looked back as his mate did, and grimaced. Six dragons got away, four male and two female. Unfortunate, but it can't be helped now. he said, and growled under his breath. What a deer-brain he was, not falling on them when Jia had them entranced with her power. He snorted softly, and increased his wingbeats. Let's fly with all speed; the faster we get to the mountains, the sooner we are all out of danger. he said, though he doubted he needed to voice it. He wondered if Galbatorix would send Murtagh and Thorn out next or...He shuddered away from the next thought. That Shruikan would come with Galbatorix himself.

Re: First Moments Phal nodded at Zeke's suggestion. Zephorion was one of the wisest dragons she knew, and would almost certainly be able to help Jia with her strange, powerful gifts. In fact, he would probably need to. She also agreed that they should move as quickly as possible. Reaching the mountains and her valley would be their safest option. It won't matter if Galbatorix sends more enemies after us. We can hide in Unity for a while to be safe. No one can enter Unity without my permission; magic far older and far more powerful than Galbatorix's, even with his Eldunari, has decided that, she spoke reassuringly. They were very close, now. If they could make it to Unity, they would be safe, and if Galbatorix sent any of his henchmen to stay in or around the valley, Phal knew she could eventually deal with them. Galbatorix himself would not be able to stay long enough to cause trouble.

Re: First Moments OOC: No, no ideas at the moment. I'll just summarize them getting to the mountains lol.
IC: Phal nodded. We'll be happy to have her, Zeke, she replied with a warm smile. She lead the way forward, continuing on their northeasterly route. It would still be several hours yet before they made it to the mountains, but time often passed very quickly when flying (at least, that's what Phal had discovered). They continued on for the rest of the day, until eventually Du Weldenvarden was visible in the north. They would be flying over Eldor Lake soon, and then over the last few wooded foothills. At last, the glittering Lake came into view, and the silver flew over it, enjoying the thermals rising from the wind currents over the large body of water. They continued for about two more hours, heading northeast to the edge of her mountains. She smiled when they came into view in the distance, the white peaks of the higher summits glistening gently in the fading light. Thickly forested foothills rolled beneath them, the ground lost in the dark green shadow cast by the trees (at least in the visible spectrum). Phal lead them to the first of her mountains. Beautiful forests and sparkling streams filled the valleys between the peaks (though the first few mountains were tall, jagged, and ridged, a good deterrant to intruders). About one more hour till we reach my valley, she announced, her spirits high at being back home. She loved these mountains, and though all mountains were beautiful, she found this to be the most beautiful range she had ever been to. She wasn't sure if it was just because this was her home, or if this was, in some ways, a place meant for her to dwell in. How is Jia doing? she asked Zeke after a few minutes, glancing at the small form.
