Strange Phenomena
So Oromis has mentioned that many examples of self-perpetuating magic exist in Alegasia.(werelights in swamps near Aroughs, Dream Well in Mani's Caves, Floating Rock in Eaom.) Maybe Eragon could somehow tap into these for extra energy or something? Maybe the floating rock on Eaom is the RoK? I'm not sure how these phenomena will hook in to the story in book 4, but I am interested to know more about them. I hope Christopher Paolini at least explains them in book 4. Any theories?

Lol, if you're being serious, release dates are announced, Nov. 8th, 2011.
Well, the perpetuating magics may not have a ton of energy, they might just be tapping into the wild magic that permeates everything. The wild magic sustains it because the spell was most likely worded in a way that connects it to the infinate energy of the void, without letting it all spill out and bleach the land of life. Could you imagine a spell that released the void energy?

Re: Strange Phenomena
Actually, it's called self-perpetuating magic for a reason. Nobody cast a spell, it just is.

Re: Strange Phenomena
Yeah, and Oromis specifically said they were "large, unpredictable sources of magic"

Re: Strange Phenomena
I wonder if it's self perpetuating and gathers it's magic like how a dragon's eldunari would. Like Oromis said we dont know whether they gather magic from the sun or there surrounding's or rather from magic itself.

Re: Strange Phenomena
Hmmm... That's a really good idea Panda. But like you said, nobody knows where the energy in an Eldunari comes from (aside from what they bring with them when their body dies), so I don't know what else to say.
